  1. As of today, I have not used smokeless tobacco for four weeks. I had used it almost half of my 41 years on this earth, but decided it was time to quit. It has not been easy, but it has not been as difficult as I feared. I am over the physical nicotine withdrawal for a couple of weeks now, but the situational habit of having a dip in when shooting or going to gun stores or just driving is still very strong at times. I thank God, and my wife for encouraging, not nagging, me in this. If this is something you need to do, do it.

  5. Smokeless tobacco is a nasty addiction and I've seen friends just about lose themselves when they finally decide to quite the stuff. Good for you for deciding enough was enough and going cold turkey. Not everyone can find the determination to do what you've done so give yourself a pat on the back, you earned it.

  6. I have been threatening to gve up my Marlboro's for about 6 months but has not worked yet. I'm 68 years old and been smoking 58 years. Doctor actually told me quiting at my age with my health and smoking that long might just kill me. I looked at her and laughed and told her that was exactly what I have been thinking......................

  7. I think you missed the tongue in cheek. They were $30 after Sandy Hook, when our rights were really in danger. Hillary is a huge threat. I don't think she will be all it takes. But, pile on a real juicy mass killing, and we could see it again. But, it's not time yet

  10. It is getting to be that time of the year. Last November I was heading west on I-40 and there around Cuba Landing just east of the TN river some ole boy was pulled off in the median cutting the backstrap out of a fresh one.

  11. Ever shot a rabbit with a 223? You gonna lick it off a tree when you're done? I stockpile 5.56, but do try to keep some 22 around, mainly cause I have 5 guns chambered in it.

  20. Mikegideon gets me. It was sarcasm trying to acknowledge the LGS attempting to hype up sales. I think it is a definite possibility of a run on guns/ammo/mags but only time will tell.

  24. Mk... my guess is some warmed over AR variant. Maybe made in Serbia this time. I bet the market will be ripe for an overpriced logo'd out Springfield tactical rifle on 11/9/16.

  26. Bight your tongue, that B will not blot a spot on my TV let alone go see anything with her in it. There is a difference between being anti-gun or anti-war and actively working against them. As soon as she set foot in VN territory she was dead to me, and her "get over it" attitude hasn't helped her any. If enough people stop going to see certain actor's movies, the studios stop making movies with them in it. The rest of the trickle down people still get paid off of other movies, popcorn and such. I personally have stopped going to many movies, not so much because of the actors but because of hollywood's insistence of forcing social issues. I can't remember a recent movie, or cartoon for that matter, where one of the characters wasn't gay, transgender, or in an interracial relationship. I know these things exist in society, but don't need it shoved into every movie. I don't care when it adds something to the storyline, but when its just a gratuitous placement it just takes away from the movie as a whole to me. Oh, yea..forgot to add. just being fat is not funny. I don't know what it is about Hollywood, but they seem to think just being fat is a formula for a good comedy. Personally I can't stand movies or shows with Melissa McCarthy, while she throws a good line now and then, she just doesn't do it for me as an actress. And before anyone says it, I myself am overweight so its not a dislike for fat people, but some such as Kevin James have overplayed their roles.

  27. Last year, I foolishly let a Chinese MAK-90 in Sporter configuration pass me by at the gun show. I patiently waited well over a year for an opportunity to present itself and I found that opporunity last night on this very forum. A special thank you to johnnychimpo for answering my questions in a timely manner and for meeting me on such a short notice. I am overjoyed with the purchase of my rifle, but I am even happier to have met a local enthusiast.

  38. Atlanta cutlery have a TON of old Nepalese Martini Henrys in .450-577 Some are junk decorations, many are restoreable with a lot of work, lots are restoreable with a bit of work, a few are fully functional. Obviously price depends on condition, but they run the gamut from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand. A fair example will cost a bit more up front, but if you don't mind getting dirty, you can build a really nice rifle by using one as a base & sourcing parts. There are even online tutorials of forming your own brass.

  39. Let me take a look, I may have one. You talking about this one right? Not sure of it's condition atm but if it still works you can have it for shipping cost, I just upgraded to the bench mounted Lee version. Worse case it may have the part that's worn on yours.

  41. Jp, it will be addictive. I too started on a rockchucker and after getting the sdb I literally couldn't walk past it without loading 15-20 rounds and chuckling to myself at all the ammo I had made in such a short short time. Enjoy it and you will want to kick yourself for not getting one 14 years ago!! LOL

  42. "QUOTE" Sure it’s possible but with the recent SCOTUS rulings, unlikely. It's unlikely at present time but if Hildebeast gets elected and begins appointing Supreme Court Justices how much longer will the original decisions hold up might be a question to think about..........................jmho
