I just came across this comedian. I had never heard of him, before but in this bit it is like he is reading my mind. This is exactly how I feel about the trend of so many people thinking that a person can't excercise the right to free speech simply because it 'offends' them - or even because it might 'offend' someone else, entirely. The best lines are, "I want to live in a Democracy but I never want to be offended, again!" "Well, you're an idiot."5 points

Here's the Bowie my buddy hammered out for his Dad. He still has some finish work to do on it. He was shooting for straight up old school on the knife, and I was shooting for the same with the sheath, all of which fits his Dad to a "T." It's going to be mounted on this block with another small knife my buddy made some time ago for his Dad's friend, who unfortunately passed away a while back. It's all gonna be placed on the block together, with a small handmade plaque. I feel about like a kid at Christmas. I cannot wait to see his face, especially since he thinks he's getting just the knife itself. I think he's going to present it to him this Sunday morning before church. I might try to go down there for that before I go to my church. I think a lot of this gentleman, and it brought me a whole lot of joy to be able to take part in this project for him. I'll post another picture when he gets it all done and put together.4 points

Here's proof to the Democrats that AK's can be used to shoot deer. This is an older picture of my brother and me in the early 90's when we went deer hunting. We didn't have deer rifles so we used our AK's . I had a MAADI (Egyptian AK) and my brother used a MAK90 (Chinese AK) to hunt with . My brother nailed a buck. It was a clean shot through the heart with his Chinese MAK90. His first deer and my first time gutting and butchering a deer. What an awesome time for us . It was 20 degrees when we were hunting and a few hours later it was 65 degrees. When I was butchering it , it was so warm the fat was foaming. Awesome time for us both . We aren't twins but we are very close. Just an awesome time and great food !1 point

I didn't need this style light (was tempted) but the thread got me thinking that I really needed a more powerful small light for the night stand and doing a little searching I found and bought this one (Anker LC90), also $30. Very bright at 900 lumens, plenty bright to blind an intruder if needed and small enough to be easy to carry. I have a larger and brighter light hanging by the door but it is to big to use in an invasion situation accept as a weapon. I see the Anker is currently out of stock.1 point

Prices will see a bump depending on what happens tomorrow night, and then there will be a complete disregard for everything that has happened a week before the election and panic buying will ensue.1 point

It's funny since I bought my only AR15 a few months after the "Clinton ban" went away in 2004 . I'd get what I could now. I lived through the Clinton/Brady ban and it sucked butt.1 point

I have thought about that and I have wondered if using FMJ's if they would make the deer bleed out faster having made 2 holes instead of one. My brother used a soft point hunting round but I still wonder if a FMJ would make it bleed out faster and go down quicker for loss of blood.1 point

Look at the Magpul stock for the 700. That's how I would go right now. I think you're gonna like the Vortex. I have one of their PST FFP scopes in the same power range1 point

Cool. One of my second cousins went to school with her (I don't think they were in the same grade or that he knew her all that well.) I asked him once if the other kids really made fun of her for being poor and he said that they did. I asked him if he had made fun of her and he said, "No because we were as poor as her family was."1 point

You can kill a bull with a Ka-bar. You just might get a little skinned up in the process1 point

I used my Ruger M77 chambered in 7.62x39 last season to take two bucks. Worked like a charm with 110 gr Sierra's. Both rounds were 'pass throughs'. I wanted to pre-test it before making it a grandson rifle. Now he won't have any excuses but pilot error if he doesn't bag one.1 point

I've been giving thought to some sort of small optical sight lately. Possibly a Burris FastFire 111 or like the Bushnell First Strike. A laser/light combo does make a lot of sense though. Just too many options and too little money to do it all at once though.1 point

I had to join the cool kids club. Got my light over the weekend. Actually just came in from trying it out in the backyard. Everything is too close to see how well it will really reach. I think I could flag down Southwest flights from my yard - in Bellevue!1 point

I figure that if the right to keep and bear arms was important enough for our founders to included in our constitution, I probably ought to own a few, don't ya think?1 point

The US was founded on civil disobedience. Why would anybody believe that round two may be on the way? Hillary is just a harmless politician, right? I don't think it will turn to shooting it out with the government. But, the constitution DOES recognize our right to own guns for that very purpose. And don't believe for a second that they don't know it.1 point

Muzzle brakes from Damage Industries. Got the tactical crown one which is ported and a regular brake. Both were on the recommendation of Dolo and work extremely well.1 point

Has the wheel been reinvented...again? Folks, we reached the pinnacle of smokeless metallic cartridge design years and years ago. Phasers, lasers, and rail guns is where it's at now. Let me know when I can get one.1 point

I'm not an AR guy. But I agree that if you want one, now is the time. The next Jackson gun show is the weekend following the election. That could get real interesting depending on how things turn out.1 point

Good deal.....so many folks of trying anything new or perhaps a tad out of their comfort zone. You have nice, functional sheath for little money.....and you learned from it. Congratulations.1 point

I'm with Fourtyfive on this. The price to put together an AR is about as cheap as I've ever seen. You can buy full kits with everything but a lower from people like PSA for as low as 450 range. I've seen complete uppers as low as 230, and complete lowers 159. More recently those have been rising fairly quickly. Granted the PSA may be an entry level rifle, but I have several from them and functionality has been great. When you can get into a fully functioning rifle for under 500-550...well I can't see it going any lower right now. Colts and Rugers can be had in the 900-1000 range routinely. But the higher end rifles like the DDM and Noveskey are rising. So I suggest if you want an AR...buy now. All this just my opinion. But if you do a little searching on the web, and gun shops, I think you'll agree.1 point
