Personally, I think that video was superb. What a masterful production. That took some serious collaboration. Excellent. And yes, I knew them all, including Lady Gaga. (I just had the honor of playing on her latest project, coming out later this month. Woohoo!)3 points

Wifey got me an early birthday present, an M&P22 Compact! This is the newer, smaller, in-house designed M&P22, not the full size made by Umarex a few years ago. This is the suppressor ready model with the adapter included. I don't have a can yet, but it's on the list! I'm already an M&P fan, and this fits in the family just perfectly. It feels very much like my PC Shield, just a smidge bigger. The trigger is nice and crisp, if a touch heavy... feels like about 6-7lbs. You've got the normal takeup which is smooth and light, then it stacks, and then a clean and consistent break. Sights are your average 3 dot configuration, fully adjustable rear. The sights on mine were dead on out of the box. A nice, small cluster right in the bullseye with my first magazine through the gun. Yesterday our church had "Bullets and BBQ", a get together of about 30 people at one member's farm for shootin' and grillin'. It was my first time shooting the M&P, and it was a trial by fire! I didn't even have a chance to clean the gun first, having just gotten it. I used it for all the new shooters. We had about a dozen people who had never shot a gun before, and they all started with the little M&P. Not a single hiccup in over 600 rounds of cheap American Eagle, Aguila, and Federal bulk pack ammo. This is my third semi-auto .22, and the first to accomplish this feat of wonder! I had an SR22 that I had for a few weeks that never made it through a single magazine without an ftf or fte (multiple cleanings, multiple ammo types) and an old first gen Walther P22 that was pretty good, but would usually choke 2-3 times in a range trip. This little Smith impresses the heck out of me. Everything about it exudes high quality. All the controls feel firm and accurate. From the actuation of the ambi-safety, the release of the slide stop, the mag release, trigger, and even down to the heft and quality of the 2 included magazines, this is an incredibly well-done little pistol. It doesn't feel like a .22... doesn't seem like a "starter gun", which is why it's such a great starter gun! Everyone who shot it loved it, even the more experienced firearm enthusiasts who were there. I generally don't like safeties on my plastic guns, but for the role this gun plays for me, it's perfect. When teaching a 9 year old who has never held a gun how to shoot, it's nice to keep that safety on until they're on target and ready to squeeze the trigger! Anywho, I'm please as punch with it. If any of you out there are in the market for a plinker (and I don't wanna hear the whining about 22 ammo... it's available now. Not for two cents a round, but for 6 and 7. Your excuse is invalid!) or are maybe a little unhappy with the function/reliability of your current 22, I highly recommend you check out the M&P 22 Compact! My buddy Jonathan approves!2 points

My parents came in to visit today & surprised me with a gift with immense personal meaning to me. Today my mother gave me my grandfather's Remington 550-1, which he bought brand new in 1956 when she was only 4 yrs old. It's in new condition & he even kept the original hang tag from 1956. As you can see he took extreme care of everything he owned. That's how he lived every day of his life & I had a lot of respect for him. My grandfather was a veteran of WWII & served on the U.S.S. Mellette (APA-156) at Iwo Jima & Okinawa where he drove a landing craft. After the war he drove a truck for nearly 40 years before retiring & was an active member of our local American Legion, VFW, & the Shriner's until his death. He was married to my grandmother for 64 years, who is still active at the age of 95. Sorry to ramble, but he was a good man & it would take a book to describe him & his life. Sadly, he passed away Feb. of 2014 at the age of 89. This was an unexpected gift that will be cherished & eventually passed down to my children.1 point

I'm going to place an order in a bit and have a little room before I get bumped up to the next level of shipping fees. Anyone in the Franklin/ Brentwood area need something small that you didn't want to pay all the fees on? I will give it an hour or so before I place the order. Thanks, Mark OK, order was placed. Next time I will try to give a little more notice... This is what happens when I stop by the fun store and they don't have what I want in stock... The money goes to a different section of fun at that point...1 point

I have been a Cubs fan for over thirty-five years now. When cable TV first came to this area, WGN would broadcast Cubs games and I watched as many as I could. Some of my favorite memories growing up were watching The Hawk and Ryan Sandberg, and listening to Harry Caray announce the games with Steve Stone. Hopefully this is the year that the Cubs bring the trophy back to Wrigley.1 point

I would do pretty much everything you mentioned on the OP. Make de a reasonable offer, if he takes it great, if he counters on the premise that the auction price is climbing tell him your suspicions in a courteous but straight forward manner and let him know you're offer stands. From there if he is immovable, send eBay a letter with your suspicions and findings, then go find another RV to plunk coin on.1 point

It's probably not gonna get any cheaper and the Hildabeast isn't gonna make it any better. Get ammo, mags, and spare aprts if you don't already have a rifle. Prices will drop after the panic buying stops because guns won't be banned. The problem is that it's only gonna take two or three years for supply to overwhelm demand.1 point

I found the this description in a WalMart ad indicating 2400 lumens ... "The Odear® Super Bright Outdoor Handheld Portable Cree T6 LED 2400 Lumens Rechargeable Flashlight Torch Searchlight Lamp is certainly that and will be a excellent acquisition. "1 point

I like most of he grinds, including this one. The XM18 is such a great carry knife for me that I find myself trying to pick the perfect one. I will most likely wind up with one that I carry daily, and a keeper or two. Now, back to the perfect blade hair pullin' Regarding fatties... I love them. I normally carry Hinderer collab ZT knives (550, 561), and it's a small, barely noticeable difference. They are beefy anyway. Doesn't matter much to me.1 point

I had the umarex full size one, I will say that gun never had any issues and went bang every time I pulled the trigger, wish I would have kept it. I bought a victory when they first came out, had nothing but issues with it, got rid of it. My .22 can is about to get out of jail so I was in need of another .22 host, I almost bought the M&P and would have if it would have been a full size. Against my better judgement I went with a victory again, although this time with a threaded barrel. I have read that the victory is a hit or miss deal, hope I got a good one this time.1 point

I didn’t know they were making them here; that’s great news. I wish the full size was made here. Now I can’t decide between the Compact and the SW22 Victory. Too many S&W’s; too little money.1 point

Nice gift. I have an SR-22 and it has been flawless. The 1st few mags of Winchester super x gave me some problems, but now that its broken in, it even shoots that good.1 point

A .22 M&P Compact is on my want to buy list based on what I've heard/read. I'd ask you to give me first dibs if you ever want to sell it, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. So many reasons to keep it around as long as it still fires. Great purchase.1 point

There is plenty of great country musicians today, Music Row won't sign them because they refuse to wear bedazzled jeans and sing pop. Sturgil Simpson has been black balled by the industry and that guy has more talent in his little toe than Florida Georgia line has between the two of them. The guy sells out every venue he plays. Other examples are Cody Jinks and Chris Stapleton. The labels aren't signing these guys because they don't want to conform. Outlaw country is alive and well, you just have to know where to look, and it sure ain't on "country" radio.1 point

This is so true! But what a way to spend time with my kids! I would rather do this then play games on computers or watch TV. And at their age they can spoil me now. 23, 25, and 27. I still like spoiling them though. Even more that she is the youngest and has given us too lovely grandchildren. More to spoil!1 point

Thank you all for those kind words. I have been wanting to talk about that part of my life for sometime. I just never found the right time or way to do it until I read this thread and I knew this was my opportunity to. I guess some folks might call it vent but to me it is more of a relief to talk about it. I know about every one here can probably share a similar part of their lives. You just have to have that spark that opens the door and this was my spark.........Again thank all of you for your kind words. I still miss her 20 years later like it was yesterday!1 point

I use to be a football freak and my wife was worse than I was. We seldom ever missed a Ttans game or Vols game. Wife had house decorated in football stuff everywhere. When I lost here to a heartattack I lost my love of football also. I will only watch a game now if there is absolutely nothing else on TV worth watching. I tried to get back into it about a year after she passed and it was just not the same. I was glad I got to make one of her biggest dreams come true just before losing her. She had always said that before she died she wanted to actually go to a Vols game. I knew a buddy of mine that had season tickets every year and great seats and he also owns a Charlet in Gatlinberg. He let me use the Charlet for a weekend and his season passes. I told my wife that wednesday before the game that we were going to Gatlinburg for the weekend as she loved it up there. She got all excited and of course packed all her Tennessee Vols outfits to wear in Gatlinburg. We arrived in the Charlet on Frday night. Great view and hot tub on the deck. Spent the evening relaxing in the tub. I woke erly so I could sevrve her breakfast in Bed. On her breakfast tray under her napkins were the two passes. I was down stairs when I heard the screams and she came running down the stairs and wrapped her self around me. It was the opening game of 1997 season and the first season after they had enlarged the Stadium. I can't even remember who Tennesse was playing that night but they killed the opposing team. I cannot believe all the stuff she bought at the stadium but I know my credit card took a heck of a hit and it about filled the trunk of the car. Now with that said I lost her suddenly to a heart attack in October 1997 just about a month after the Tennessee Game and I would give all I own to have her back but to this day I will never forget that one dream i made come true for her. Like I said I have tried to get back into the game but does not work. Her daughter and my Son In law are about like she was about the Vols so I gave her all the stuff her mother had decorating the house and now their house is decorated all up. They have invited me to come and watch some games with them. I did manage a few back years ago. They don't ask anymore mostly because they know I won't come but I know I am always welcome should I decide to go..............Sorry for the long post but have been needing to talk about this for sometime and this thread seemed like a place I could do it.....................1 point

My wife and I have stopped watching NFL ball games. Between the Titans just sucking as bad as they ever have, and the petulant behavior of the players protesting the country that enables them to live in luxury, we've just given up on it entirely. We've started watching collegiate football more and find ourselves slowly becoming Vols fans. Never thought I'd say that.1 point

Do you equate panic buying with empty display counters at your LGS, along with sky high prices when product availability was limited? The back ground check transfer numbers have remained on the high end for several straight months now. Many firearms are being purchased but yet the shelves are still well stocked. The firearm market is saturated on both ends, supply and demand. Sure there are a few areas that can't meet demand, say like .22 rimfire, but it's available be it a little pricey compared to what many of us may have been used to. This is the new normal and yes there will be demand peaks as a result of current events and elections. Speaking of elections, we as a group must quit complaining about how poor our choices are and become proactive if we want to continue to exercise our 2nd amendment rights. What's the best way to do this, I don't have a crystal ball but we can at least vote for the best of the worst when it come to a politicians stance on the 2nd amendment.1 point
