  1. I was in western Nebraska yesterday, just a little south of Scottsbluff. I didn't realize there were moose in the area, from a distance I thought it was a loose horse.

  2. Thank you! That particular photograph was taken at the summit of the Bell Rock looking out towards Sedona. My fiancee and I had the pleasure of traveling up and down Arizona State Route 89A during our trip last week. We spent the last 7 days in Sedona, Monument Valley, + the Grand Canyon. On our second to last day, we traveled from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to Page to view Horseshoe Bend + the Upper Antelope Canyon. 3. Very cool! have some friends in Massacheusets that have them in the area as well. It'd be nice if moose and bison were roaming the woods and on the list of game available to hunt! Safe travels!

  4. UPDATE 10/7/2016 @ 6:20AM Central The search index rebuild completed yesterday morning sometime between 6:00AM and 10:00AM. This morning I made a few small tweaks to the database engine. At this point it is about making minor changes, waiting, and gauging results. During our non-peak times the speed is blistering fast. During peak times, it isn't bad but I think it could be better. I'm working on closing the gap between peak and non-peak.

  5. I originally was introduced to the FR-8 through a video posted by Sootch and then Ian McCollum from Forgotten Weapons and InRange TV (both YouTube channels) did a more in depth review. I had never seen or heard of this particular gun, and a quick gunbroker search yielded very few examples up for sale, so I assumed it was a more rare thing to come by. These are basically original Spanish large ring Mauser rifles that were cut down, re chambered and modified to become trainer rifles for the CETME rifle the Spanish military employed. By looking at just the barrel section, you would assume this was a semi auto rifle from the birdcage muzzle brake and the tube under the barrel. This was done to sort of mimic the CETME's features. The tube on the underside is no more than a compartment that can house the cleaning kit. Given the rather small and handy size of this rifle, you would think .308 would put a real wallop on the shoulder. Actually the muzzle brake does a pretty dang good job of softening it up. It's comparable in size to an m44 Mosin Nagant but not near as hefty. I feel like I could carry it all day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Here's a couple of blades my buddy hammered out in his forge. I'm making sheaths for both of them now. I just gave the top one back to him today so he can finish building it for his Dad. He still needs to finish the grip, polish the blade, and put an edge on it. The one on the bottom is his every day carry knife. He's been carrying that one for a good while now. It's been a good one. I think I've got him talked into making some blades to sell, but so far he's been one of those guys whose happy to make something for family or tribe and enjoy the process. I'm glad he's the one enthused about heating and hammering steel. Looks a lot like work.

  7. Well, a couple. The orange looking leather I was trying to make for my SOG Seal Pup. Well we see how that worked out. I really wanted a very slimline sheath, and I cut the width too shy. Got it all sewed up (without checking first), brought the black dye just up to the stitch line, then found out there was no way on this green earth that SOG was going in that sheath. Picked up my son's old Kabar with laminated wood grip and ..... sssssnick! Just like I had measured his knife instead of mine. Next attempt: Cut it right, sewed it right, tried to put it in a low temp oven to dry (170 deg.), didn't leave it very long, came out looking sort of like a six month old banana. THIRD! attempt is the black one here. Made myself a comfortable, slim, lightweight, left hand sheath. FINALLY! Me likey. Sometimes the process of learning sucks.

  9. It reads like, if you have to use two hands to bumpfire a pistol (less than 26 inches OAL) with the JT bumpfire grip, the BATFE says it is an AOW and you need to file a Form 1 with $5 for your tax stamp. That really blows my mind because I fire lots of pistols with two hands. That is really a stretch of the interpretation of the law IMHO. BATFE is getting way too far in to telling us HOW we can shoot our guns now, such as shouldering a Sig Pistol Stabilizing Brace and this JT bumpfire grip.

  13. The Stones are coming out with a new album and I'm actually excited about it. They're going back to the beginning when they were a British blues band. The teaser sound great:

  15. The ironic thing is that there are those who support him and/or his party that buy guns too...in fear that he and/or his party might make it so that they may not be able to get them later.....

  16. A SP101 with a 3" barrel is one of the best all around choices for carry / shooting. For general shooting no carry. GP100 or 686 4"-5" barrel. And to maximize the full potential of the 357. 6"+ barrel.

  17. I wish I had a DW pistol pack. I just threw that out there for the OP to consider among the many other .357s folks suggested.

  18. What's your budget? I'd suggest a classic Smith and Wesson, like a model 27 4 inch. A Model 28 isn't quite as pretty, but the same gun for less money, just without the checkered topstrap and polished finish. If money is no object, Go with a Registered Magnum, or a Colt Single Action Army. The 357 is a versatile round, and one if my favorites as well. If you aren't stuck on a handgun, my Puma 92 Winchester copy always puts smiles on the faces of anyone who shoots it.

  19. My trail gun is a S&W 60-10 and is my favorite .357. Many people call it a mini-686.
