Didya ever wonder just why this guy and his wife were sittin here in the first place...? Did they live there...? We're they gonna meet someone..? Wuz there a tupperware party...? Wuz it someones birthday...?... Notice that no one is talkin about this... Why wuz this recently deceased model citizen smokin a joint...? These cops accidently came to serve a warrant on someone else and this dimwit flashed a gun as near as i can tell... How's that for a pleasant greeting from a model citizen in your community...? These people were'nt waitin to go to a church meeting, nor a dear grandmother's birthday party... This is hoodlum-ism in it's full flower... It's very likely that thes poor policemen did society in general and the Charlotte community in particular a service on this one.... I'm tired of hearin about the poor put upon black community... When thugs start reformin, and start doin what they need to do, i'll start carin... non-carin leroy, the dismissive whitey...3 points

There was supposed to be more to that but I was sitting in my car waiting on someone to open the building so I could work. Internet cut out and while trying to switch from wifi to cell data, I think I hit send. I just had a spinning disc on my screen and I couldn't type anymore but I didn't see where the post was made. It was meant as a lighthearted joke and If I had been able to continue typing, that would likely have been conveyed. You would be correct. I've never shot anything competitively. Not really my bag. But my mark series do get taken down. I've upgraded a few with VQ parts. I can appreciate that. I was just talking about for cleaning though since thats usually when people complain. They can't put it back together and 9 times out of 10 its because they don't pay attention to the hammer strut when putting the mainspring back in. Other than that, its as simple as any other gun that I've ever dealt with. For the record, I do take mine down to clean. I was just trying to be sarcastically silly when I made that post that wasn't complete when it sent.2 points

Oh wow. I hope and pray he makes a full recovery. Glad he is still alive. It's amazing what a 15' fall can do. I always wear my safety vest and teach my kids the same. I also encourage my friends to do the same. I just installed safety lines with prusik knots on my fixed stands that allows us to easily stay conmected on the way up and down. I used to skimp or go cheap on this stuff or not always used it, but the last few years I am adamant about it. Thanks for sharing the reminder.2 points

Obamacare is working as designed. It's time to quit screwing around and remove insurance companies from the equation. Just nationalize it already and make everybody's life a whole lot easier and probably cheaper.2 points

Marketing 101: People buy tangible goods or services based on their wants or emotions, and then they justify their purchase. Brownells is not making a false claim or implication. If or when Hillary is elected things could get uglier than they already are for those of us that exercise or second amendment rights. We the people in this community, are more in tune to all things firearm related and get emotional about our ability to buy firearms and related items in the future. We still have a free market in this country, so just like anything else if you disagree with Brownells methods I'm sure there are other sources for the same widget. Which brings me to the Marilyn Manson clip. Manson and Lady Gaga are nothing more entrepreneurs / artist that have capitalized on the shock rock. I think it started with Alice Cooper, he saw the business side of it and ran with it. Piss off or irritate the older crowd and parents, play to their emotions and the younger generation will love it and pay money for it. Just marketing!1 point

UPDATE 9/27/2016 @ 5:15PM Central I was able to make a minor change to the server today at lunch and it seems to have moved the needle in the correct direction but there is more to do. I am going to monitor TGO through the evening and may have to take it offline at some point to try my next planned change to shore things up further. I appreciate everyone's patience with me as I continue to chip away at this and get our new server tuned for optimal performance. As before, more to come...1 point

I watched the video one time. The officers requested Mr. Scott to drop the gun repeatedly but Mr. Scott did not for whatever reason. You think the outcome would be different had he dropped the gun as requested? Cases like these have something in common, more times than not the suspects do not comply. That's when unpleasant things start happening!1 point

Can't decide whether I want to hunt the edge of my clover field or try the deep woods. Supposed to be 10 degrees cooler in the morning so I will be in my stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I see your point as far as equating guns with illegal activity, but in this case they were correct in checking in with him on exactly what he was up to. A legal CCW or open carrying individual sitting in a car waving a gun around should probably also be asked what he is up to if he is acting in a suspicious manner. And of course sitting in a car with an illegal substance doesn't help matters, whether the gun is legal or not. I bet if he would of just acted in a rational manner this incident would not of even made the news, let alone cause riots.1 point

I'm hunting woods only. From what I'm hearing they are moving a lot more since yesterday's rain. I sure wanted to be in my stand this morning! I took off this coming Monday to extend my weekend hunt. Just requested first week of muzzleloader off as well.1 point

Umm, I was talking about Michael Moore. He's the whack-o freak. EDIT: There was sarcasm in the first post. Michael Moore is like Hillary in that you know he's lying cuz his lips are moving.1 point

I'm into my 3rd season of coaching in the Scholastic Action Shooting Program http://sssfonline.org/scholastic-pistol-program-spp/ . So here's my and that's about all it's worth because it's purely my opinion based on the past two years of dealing with rimfire guns used by our team. All but one of our team members compete in the rimfire discipline. The dominate rimfire pistols in order Ruger Mk II, Mk III, Buckmark (1 UDX and 1URX) M&P 22 and just recently a S&W Victory. I base this order on the fact that by SASP rule: 2. Due to the misfire/jamming issues generally associated with rimfire, a competitor will be allowed one (1) “Mulligan” per stage if the issue is related to ammo/gun failure. When using the “Mulligan”, the shooter will be allowed to reshoot the string in which the incident occurred. It will be the responsibility of the competitor or coach to request the “Mulligan”. We have experienced fewer reshoots with Ruger pistols. Myself and one other coach have become fairly proficient in reassembling Ruger Mk whatever pistols. Capbyrd has his opinion that a Ruger Mk (1-?) never needs to be disassembled, I say he's never shot one competitively. I think the Rugers have a marked advantage over the rest of the field due to ingenious self taught engineering skills of Bill Ruger and refined with the abundance of aftermarket parts in particular Volquartsen. I can hone and polish the internals of a stock Ruger trigger assembly to a noticeable improvement but they just don't compare to Volquartsen parts kits. There are now a few Volquartsen parts available for the Buckmark and the Victory but the Ruger Mk 2-3 trigger kits are the best. I personally think the Mk 2 is Superior to the Mk3 which may change once I get my hands on a Mk4 but don't count on it. The Buckmarks fair well but just don't have much in the way of upgrades or internal modifications as the Ruger. We just recently have had a S&W Victory in the club and I must say it's first couple of outings were less than impressive with several FTE and FTF's. I do think it has potential. The S&W Victory has taken some of the best of Ruger and Buckmark platforms and combined them but it's going to take some time to refine. Once again, just my , YMMV. Here's a video from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation about the Tennessee SASP. https://youtu.be/iJpiMKW2j6k1 point

Instead of accusing me of just trying to spin people up, why not address the points I tried to make? I'm sorry you find my difference of opinion delusional, kind of makes it difficult to have a reasonable discussion when one side has already appointed themselves unquestionably correct. I apologize if my questioning of authority has threatened your safe space, from now on I will try to use more socially appropriate trigger warnings before I question the common point of view here. When the officers approached him, did they know he was a felon with a gun or had they just observed a gun and what appeared to be a joint? I would go so far as the say the fact he's a felon with a gun shouldn't be a crime, but that's a debate for another time. The officers observed a firearm and what they assumed to be a small amount of marijuana. If they are otherwise on a mission to serve a warrant, why are they bothering with this guy that's just minding his own business? Is their warrant really not that important? Is a single joint such a heinous crime? The officers chose to initiate contact with an individual that was minding his own business. Now that individual is dead. If the officers had stayed focused on their assigned task serving a warrant, things might be different. Instead they decided that one individual with one joint was more important and now he's dead. Possession of a small amount of marijuana and a firearm resulted in death. "Well he should've listened to the cops" Well they should've been busy serving a warrant instead of harassing him. On the one hand, you break the rules and you take your chances. I just want people to look at the bigger picture and question why some of these ridiculous rules exist to start with.1 point
-
So he was shot because he had a joint and a handgun at the same time. "No, he was shot because he didn't listen to the police!" He wasn't hurting anyone. Why did the police have to even get involved? To protect and serve? As a member of the public, I don't feel any safer. They killed a guy who enjoyed firearms and the occasional toke. That could've been an awful lot of people I know personally.1 point

The rioters are backed by the political left in a battleground state. Facts will not and do not matter. Police seemed to have done the right thing, but politics are the deciding factor. Much more reason to riot and fault the police in Tulsa, but NOT a battleground state and already considered a state for Trump. Like most things, politics and follow the money.1 point

MAC's "testing" is a lot better at generating site traffic than generating useful data. Exercises like these just aren't very relevant to what 99.99% of pistols are going to go through. And testing of any sort on just one example of a particular gun is never going to tell you much.1 point
