  1. Well, fraternal twins. Thanks to Guns N More! Finally got a couple of 10mm!

  2. I am not comparing MOST PEOPLE to animals. I am sure there are a food stamp recipient or two rioting in charlotte and them I will call animals that not only are doing that but we have to feed. I saw two things online. ONe I cant find was talking about the same department of the government that handles food stamps has signs up at national parks ( It has to be separate departments though) with signs up saying not to feed the animals. If you feed them they will become lazy and not look for food on their own. Now there is merit to that the way some people view food stamps, wic, welfare, section 8 and so forth as a way of life or reparations. The other talks about needing to make it as not comfortable Put me in charge ... Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job. Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job. Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place. In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.” Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem. If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

  5. Best of luck, gents! I no longer own a bow, but am looking forward to pictures and stories. I'll attempt to make a post or two when muzzleloader and rifle season gets here.

  9. The 10mm is far and away the best caliber for a pistol-caliber carbine. I've always thought it would be a great SMG cartridge. I also appreciate the KRISS Erma PM-9 inspired operation. But, that is one butt-ugly gun!!!

  10. Taking them apart was never a real problem. Putting them back together seemed to be the real challenge for some!

  11. So after 60+ years they're going to make it so you can take it apart.

  13. Whatever you do, make the buyer aware of your intentions before you even meet. Having a form sprung on you is extremely irritating. It happened to me one time from a seller on this forum. It was a simple "this guy bought this from me" thing not even as elegant as the one DaveTN posted. It highly pissed me off but I went along with it as it was just a signature.

  14. Wow, the wait is finally over (for us bow hunters anyway)! The last month has flown by for me. I bought a Mathews Switchback from my uncle who took excellent care of it. Put new everything on it including new cam for my draw length. I absolutely love this bow! Cannot wait to get in the ladder stand tomorrow. I also finally upgraded my climber. Been using a Summit Classic Viper for about 15 years. It's been a great stand, heavy but great. I went to Bass Pro and picked up a new Viper SD and the 9 less pounds are noticeable:) I want to wish everyone a successful season but only after I strongly wish that you ALL wear your harness while in the stand! Come home to your family after every hunt safely. May your aim be true!!

  15. Because I got a pair of Finns... BWAHAHAHA http://imgur.com/a/HjfGg Got 2 VKT M39s from Classic Firearms. Didn't opt for "hand select" and seem to be in decent condition for the price. Both are 1942, and I seem to have gotten one War time stock, and one Post war stock. The War Time stock seems to have an older action and bolt, and in a little rougher condition. Range report will be soon

  16. Good luck tomorrow! I plan to hit the woods for an afternoon hunt. It will be hotter then, but that's when I can go. I have more stand sites this year than last. Almost too many places 'cause I'm not sure which I want to hunt first. No doubt the mack-daddy will be on the trail cam of the stand I'm not in, lol. I'm really excited about the season. I have some small food plots ready to sow, but I need some rain before I put my seed out. I had them planted back in the spring, but the drought torched them. I will be using my trusty Martin Firecat TR1 with GoldTip arrows for now. Funny thing, I was looking at a used Switchback XT the other day. I'm still thinking about getting it for a second bow (or new primary). I have read that the Switchback is still one of the best hunting bows Matthews ever made. Last year I lost most of the archery season because I broke a cable on my Martin, so I'd like to have 2 good bows ready to hunt. You're going to love that Viper SD. That's what I have, and I can sit in that all day. Good luck!

  18. Another option is to do an audio recording of the sale by just putting your phone on video and saving the whole thing in an email in case your phone breaks or is lost. I have went on a knock and talk with the ATF, and they were overly satisfied with just getting copies of the emails between a buyer and seller.

  22. I finally got around to installing the "D" hammer spring on my Beretta 92 after it sat around in a parts bin for a few years, and HOLY COW what a difference! I enjoyed the previous trigger pull just fine but this makes it a dream!

  23. Vortex makes a good unit. Their products have a lietime, unlimited, unconditional guarantee. I just got a Spitfire AR (specially made for 1/3 co-witness). Retail was $349; purchased for $230. It uses a AAA battery. The reticle is the best for me, using concentric circles. It's a prism scope, which is great for my astigmatism. I'm sure there is a model that you can use.

  24. Wow @SWJewellTN, that's like 20mm!!! I just have one... the 20, but I love it. I've been running Underwood 200gr HC through it. It's more accurate than I am and it hits hard. I put Ameriglo Spartan Operator sights on it. I've been very happy.

  25. Even though I am more of a revolver guy the Ruger P95 is the only firearm I own of which I have two. Partly this is because the first was a gift from a now deceased friend so I don't want to risk losing it if I ever needed to use it but partly it is also because they are so ridiculously good. My first (the gift one) has no rail and is decocker only. My second has a small light rail and is a decocker/safety model. I prefer the DC only but when you are buying used you can't be that picky and I can just use the safety to decock then disengage it. I also prefer hammer fired and will likely never have a striker fired handgun that I would actually use for carry or HD. You have to love that the owner's manual basically says that as long as it is the right caliber shoot pretty much any ammo you want, they don't care. +P? Good to go. 9mm NATO? Shoot it, good to go. Those two P95 pistols are also the only handguns I own that are chambered in 9mm Luger. When I read the OP my thought was, "It would be cool if they would do an updated version of the old Security 6 and Speed 6 revolvers." By that I mean strong, reliable, metal (not polymer) double action revolvers that aren't quite as heavy/bulky/overbuilt as the GP100 and the SP101. As someone else said, if the current avatar of Nyarthalotep (aka The Crawling Chaos aka Hillary Clinton) manages to limit and restrict semiauto firearms then a company with a solid and growing line of reliable revolvers would be in a pretty good position.

  27. These are the first Glocks that I've owned since leaving the PD in 1993. I had a Glock 22 back then. These are just fun guns, really. Well, one is; the other is when I want more bang than my .357 Sig.

  31. Sorry triple d, I didn't quote you on that one. Yes it was a reply to you. I don't guarantee anything, but all I can say is that I personally haven't seen or encountered any problems from an attempt at cleaning commercially loaded rounds. I do have someone who shall remain nameless, telling me it will work. I was just told not to go overboard on the tumbling. Just get the corrosion and dirt off. I hope some of the guys involved in that discussion will see this and chime in as well.

  34. Is I hate you too strong of language? I have refrained from the Glock coolaid but as the years pass I keep telling myself my one time on the range with one in 91 shouldn't keep me from trying them again. Then you mention 10mm. One of the few calibers I don't have.

  35. Whatever it is I'm sure it will be a quality product but will have one disgusting or otherwise unpalettable asthetic feature that will blow it. Then in a year or two they will make it right. It's as sure as the sun rises every day with Ruger's announcements and new offerings.

  38. This, 1,000 %!!!! It _is_ a way of life, for many. Sum's up the problem entirely. A motivated individual can do almost anything, so we must not be motivating folks. Soup Kitchens should make a comeback! I'd also like to see work-details leaving the welfare office to pickup trash in the street, clean up our cities and towns. You want your check? Report to the foreman at 9 AM, he'll have an orange vest and trash-bag for you. Bring it back full.

  42. This is how I buy of sell guns. Ask for or show my HCP or TN DL. Exchange cash for gun and walk away. If they do not have a HCP I ask if they are a prohibited person. If it is a complete stranger and not from TGO I do a few more things. I write their number on my hand, I also write their plate number on my hand and I generally audio record the transaction. No way I would ever give someone all that information. You are right, there are bad people out there but with their copy of the BoS they can do even more damage. I cannot think of a valid reason for that information. LE will already have all of that by the time they come knocking on your door. I would think becoming a victim of identity theft is a more realistic threat than getting in trouble because some jackwagon decides to break the law using a gun you sold to them.

  43. A stuck case can be a run of ammo where the mouth of the case wasn't crimped enough to take the belling off the case mouth. Try a few different ammo brands. Don't make any judgments on the gun before about 200 rounds are through it. I have owned a Bersa and have several friends that do. I sheepishly admit to hearing less of problems from them than top dollar guns. It'll do well for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  46. What he said. My P3AT runs with Gold Dots. The LCP runs with PMC, and I chose them for exactly the same reason.... modest if somewhat unreliable expansion, but consistent penetration. Seems the .380 just doesn't have enough oomph to both expand significantly and penetrate reasonably. Recoil in the Shield 9 is quite manageable. Better than the .380's, though I'd presume that's mostly because of the better grip. The only "micro" 9 I've shot was a Kahr, and it was a handful.
