  1. Build an ark the Lord said to Noah, "In six months I'm going to make it rain until the earth is covered with water and all the evil is destroyed. I want you to build an ark and save two of each animal species. Here are the blue prints for the ark." ... six months passed ... The skys began to cloud and rain began to fall. Noah sat in his front yard weeping. "Why haven't you built the ark?", asked the Lord. "Oh forgive me", said Noah, "I tried but so many things have happened. The blue prints you gave me didn't meet the city's code and I had to change them. Then the city said I was violating the zoning ordnance by building the ark in my front yard so I had to get a variance. The Forest Service required tree cutting permits, and I was sued by an animal rights group when I tried to gather up the animals. The EPA required an environmental impact statement concerning the flood. The Army Corps of Engineers wanted a map of the proposed flood plain. The IRS seized all my assets, claiming I was trying to avoid paying taxes by fleeing the country, and the Equal Opportunity Commision said I wasn't hiring enough Croations. So, I'm sorry Lord but I can't finish the ark for at least five years!" Suddenly the rain stopped, the skys cleared and the sun began to shine. Noah looked up and said, "Lord does this mean you are not going to devastate the earth?" "Right", said the Lord,"the government already has."

  2. Looks like crabgrass to me but I do have like 8 different kinds of grass in my yard. I do know it looks a lot better cut. Bermuda will overtake fescue with a vengeance. It grows in the summer when fescue goes dormant and browns in the winter. I hate it. You might need to do what I've been thinking of...the nuclear option...starting over, lol.

  3. This is some interesting info. I had no idea how 22 ammo was made. The shortage of it I'm painfully aware of. http://newschannel9.com/sports/outdoors/22-caliber-bullets-rare-glimpse-at-how-its-made

  5. For those that are not aware of the size and history of the Grand American here are some more information and pictures for you. I will start with an aerial view to to show the length that shotgunshooter drove while taking the rotated 90 degree video. Debuting in 1900 at the Interstate Park in Queens, New York, the Grand American was originally a four-day tournament contested in June. For the next 20 plus years the Grand American was staged in cities such as Chicago, St. Louis and Columbus until it made its home in Vandalia, Ohio from 1923 until 2005. In 2006, the Grand American moved to its new home at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, IL. This state of the art facility features 120 trap fields extending for 3.5 miles making it the worlds largest trap line. To find out more about the WSRC please visit their website. Since its inception, the Grand American has grown from a mere 20 competitors in 1900 to more than 5,800 participants in 2006. Over the years, the likes of Annie Oakley, Roy Rogers and John Philip Sousa have participated in the Grand American. In its current format, the Grand American consists of 24 events spanning over an 11 day period. The first 5 days of the tournament are referred to as "Preliminary Days" in which competitors may fine-tune their skills prior to competing in the championship events of "Grand Week." Not only is the Grand American the largest shooting tournament in the world, but it also offers competitors the opportunity to explore the most advanced products and services in the shooting industry. The WSRC is a spectacular site in itself. With more than 1,000 camping sites, 100+ exhibitors, and thousands of competitors, the Grand is more than a championship. It's a celebration of the sport. The hub for all this activity is located in the Events Center. This location provides competitors with a sophisticated entry system, which incorporates computerized classification, handicapping, entry processing/cashiering and score reporting. A closed-circuit television network conveys event leaders, event results, squads on deck and messages to better inform individuals during their stay on the grounds. Camp sites offering hook-ups and onsite shower facilities offer the thrill of camping on-site during the 11 day event. Many competitors end the day by joining friends at various campsites to share the day's shooting stories or to enjoy a cookout. More than 100 exhibitors are on-site to provide products and services ranging from gun sales and services, to shooting accessories and apparel. Conveniently located near the trap line, these exhibitors offer a shopping-mall type atmosphere to shop for that special item.

  8. It's about taking away the power of the people. They would rather eliminate the firearms industry all together if they could. Jobs don't matter, that means more people dependent on the government through welfare, food stamps, and whatever other programs there are. They only care about furthering their power not the country or its people.

  9. I think that when she gets done with us, we will have one single shot shotgun and maybe, just maybe she'll allow some to have a single shot pistol. Some of the manufacturers might survive to provide scary rifles to the military and government workers, that's about it. Some of you might say that won't happen, and when we were a nation of laws I might have agreed. But we are now lawless for those in power. Stand by for dear leader part 2!

  12. Three years ago I lost my best friend Harley. It was so hard on us that we didn’t know if we wanted another dog or not. I think it is time. We will be looking for a puppy. The dog will be a house dog, not kept outside and treated as well as anyone could hope for. I have a very large fenced property with plenty of room to run. We have some travel plans that interfere with us doing it right now, but we will be looking for a dog we can get around Christmas. We both have plenty of time off then to spend getting our new family member acclimated to its new home. If you are aware of any pups due around this time frame; please keep me in mind. Thanks This is Harley; feel free to post picks of your kids.

  14. Of course insurance is important, but if you haven't already you need to invest in a safe. To me that is a priority over insurance.

  15. State Farm and SAFECO only wanted the serial numbers and firearm description, no other documentation. The fact they were documented as being in your possession was all that was required should a claim be filed, no different than a stereo or refrigerator or couch. SAFECO is particularly good, in that there is no minimum coverage for firearms as "valuable items" exception, they are just figured into the overall maximum coverage, though they did want a list of the items w/ the serial numbers. Can't imagine you'd have any probs with any insurer on them regarding proof of ownership, unless they run the numbers for stolen ones. Nothing in either policy from either company I've used about that and I read them pretty carefully. Though I can't speak for other companies of course. - OS

  16. I'm sure you have plenty for a statement but I would contact them to see exactly how they want it done. I would figure at most it is a notarized statement with probably you and your wife's signatures. Especially if they aren't really expensive firearms I wouldn't see much fight.

  23. That video shows the millions of dollars’ worth of custom tooling built to produce that product. That’s why it’s tough to justify buying more tooling to produce more during a spike in sales. Seeing the amount of lead used in one day is pretty impressive; it goes to show how many people are shooting. Especially when you figure that is just one supplier. As I watched that I was thinking that the EPA trying to shut down lead production in the U.S. (if they haven’t already) must be a big concern to them. Being dependent on foreign lead will not be good for anyone (except the foreigners). However I’m sure they are on the front lines of trying to adjust to lead free ammunition. Of course they always have the price of copper to deal with.

  24. Absolutely, the multi blade cartridges were not an improvement in shaving. They are faster and easier to keep from nicking yourself and any benefit from them ends there. Wet shaving is closer, with less razor burn and irritation. While there are plenty of expensive products, a $35 razor, with 100 blades for $20 and $20 dollars worth of shaving soap with a $10 brush will last a very, very long time.

  25. I wet shave with a $30 stainless razor I've had for years that takes the old double edge blades. They actually shave much closer, cheaper and easier than the 2, 3, 4 bladed plastic jobs. How many blades are they up to now anyway LOL? A package of 10 double edge blades are around $6 or so and last a long time.

  26. Well, it's only an accusation and even the EEOC stated that the Gadsden flag has no ties to racist. Anyone can make an accusation and there's a risk it will make the news. I could state something insane like, "Hillary Clinton is an honest and forthright person of high moral fiber" and it might make the news too. It'd be complete bovine excrement but it could make the news.

  32. That's true. I just don't understand the mentality of those dissing Trump because of his commentary on many different issues; telling us how bad he "might" be for the country. But yet we have Hillary, proven to be a liar and a lawbreaker(If you believe the FBI), and people of all interests are raving over her. Even within the gun community. How many times do we need to listen to her comments on the Constitution, not just the 2nd Amendment, to understand what she plans for this country?

  34. I think she's a huge threat to every aspect of our way of living. She doesn't care about Americans. Look what she wants to do to the coal workers. A weapons ban would be devistating to jobs across the country. She also wants legislation to allow the gun manufactueres to be sued for gun crimes. S&W, ruger... they'd all be out of business.

  35. Galco ankle holster, G-26 and get the calf strap for the galco. It took me 3-4 days to get over feeling like I had an anchor strapped to my ankle. I've carried a G-33 every day at work for over 5 years. With my sleek, svelte, fighting machine body I can't wear IWB unless I am untucked and I'm just not an untucked at work kind of guy. Don't bother with the spare mag ankle thingy unless you are going to sew a retaining strap to close over the top of the mag for retention. Rumor has it the first day you wear it and go visit a customer the mag will slip out and slide across the floor and your customer will almost die from laughing so hard at the look of horror on your face. Now I notice when I don't have it more than when I do... You're welcome... Mark

  37. Interesting...., that I've put 100 rounds through..... Short barreled 1911..... I'm a 1911 guy.. love them. Almost never say no to a good deal on one.... but as someone above said, when you try to turn the 1911 in to something it wasn't meant to be, then you're going to have problems. I'd never trust anything smaller than a Commander sized 1911. The 3.5" and bellow just don't cycle reliably...regardless of how much more has been done....on average.... Mr. Browning never meant for his beloved 1911 to be a compact or a super tight firearm.... Doing so is like giving Babe Ruth a tennis racket....

  40. I think the shield is an excellent value for your dollar and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to people looking for a first gun. Small, reliable, and relatively inexpensive. For my purposes it had no place though. I carry IWB, and I wanted something with a shorter grip than my XD9sc (roughly G19 size) in hopes of printing a little less... and honestly even the XD didnt print that much. Very rarely would anyone notice. I tried the shield thinking the thinness would help but it really didnt, grip length was the determining factor for me (ymmv). Lost a lot of capacity. Enter the G26. Double stack but shorter grip. Uncomfortable to hold, and I would have been turned off to it had I judged it based on that alone but I shot great with it though and printed less for my carry method. So I'm glad they made the 43 grip shorter than the shield for when I want an even more minimal carry. It conceals better than the shield when I need it to (flush magazine) and when I dont need to worry as much about it the finger extension lets me use all my fingers and is every bit as comfortable in the hand as the shield... I like options.
