This is some interesting info. I had no idea how 22 ammo was made. The shortage of it I'm painfully aware of. http://newschannel9.com/sports/outdoors/22-caliber-bullets-rare-glimpse-at-how-its-made2 points

Or get rid of most of that stuff and go minimalist. I'm working on slimming my wallet down to the bare necessities. If it wasn't for the stupid RFID card I have to carry to open doors at work and the fact that we have to keep the HCP with us even though it's the exact same number as the TNDL, I'd have it down to 3 cards and some paper cash. Coins quickly make their way to the cupholder and then to the coin box to be hauled off later to Coinstar. Right now it's phone, super slim wallet, car key, knife and (when I'm not at the office) gun. That reminds me....I need to find a lighter knife. I've thought about removing the car's remote from my key ring and going old-school with just the key.2 points

Work good like AmPaTerry says. Nice thing about being a old geezer though, don't have to try to hide them so I look "cool"! Just clip'em on and go. Personally, I like the ones made by Perry. Black and blue gets boring quickly though. You can have some fun if you're crazy enough to wear the wild colors and patterns they make.2 points

If I cook it I don't mind it plain but I personally prefer deep fried. It for sure is an acquired taste and I could do without all the Dale's but hey life's short so live it up. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk2 points

My 18 year old son Ashton saved his friend's life by performing CPR on him and bringing him back to life after he was drowned and under water for several minutes . I love my son and I am just being a proud Daddy . Here he is getting a Life Saver award from the County Mayor .2 points

Galco ankle holster, G-26 and get the calf strap for the galco. It took me 3-4 days to get over feeling like I had an anchor strapped to my ankle. I've carried a G-33 every day at work for over 5 years. With my sleek, svelte, fighting machine body I can't wear IWB unless I am untucked and I'm just not an untucked at work kind of guy. Don't bother with the spare mag ankle thingy unless you are going to sew a retaining strap to close over the top of the mag for retention. Rumor has it the first day you wear it and go visit a customer the mag will slip out and slide across the floor and your customer will almost die from laughing so hard at the look of horror on your face. Now I notice when I don't have it more than when I do... You're welcome... Mark2 points

Being R/H I use an ankle holster most of the time on my inside left ankle holding a LCP or a P238. My S&W revolver is on the hip. If you want a revolver I think the LCR would be a better choice and I know you said no more used guns but being a revolver, and a Ruger, I don't think you can go wrong with a used one plus there's plenty of used LCR's out there. Putting this here since most references to TCA here seem to involve guns. Just noticed that it has been updated. This is second year in a row they've done it in early August, used to be Sept/Oct. - OS1 point

We have several knife makers on TGO and I'm sure we also have machinists. One of my non gun related hobbies is wet shaving, which is using old style razors such as a Gillette double edge or straight razor, whipping up shaving cream with a brush and mug, etc... I'm hear to tell you, there are a lot of wealthy wet shaving enthusiasts and they spare no expense. Below are some straight razor pics, with a knife thrown in, from a guy in Italy. There are also pictures of a razor and a link to this guys site. Wolfman is a machinist in the day time. He makes double edged razors which are pictured below. They sell for $500 and the waiting list is many months long. His website is wolfmanrazors.com1 point

Well, it's only an accusation and even the EEOC stated that the Gadsden flag has no ties to racist. Anyone can make an accusation and there's a risk it will make the news. I could state something insane like, "Hillary Clinton is an honest and forthright person of high moral fiber" and it might make the news too. It'd be complete bovine excrement but it could make the news.1 point

The government would probably love to bail the gun industry out of bankruptsy so they would have complete control of the manufacturing and selective distribution of weapons1 point

The gun manufacturers should tell the Clinton folks that it will be tough to arm their police and military and other supporters if the gun industry is bankrupted out of existence. I guess they can be limited to night sticks like a lot of the police in the UK carry.1 point

Pistol. Couple extra magazines in a belt holster. BUG in side pocket. If you are really paranoid, a BUBUG in the other side pocket. Keychain and thirty keys - one for car, one for truck, one for house, one for driveway gate, and 26 that you don't know what they fit but you don't DARE get rid of them. Cell phone. Pocket knife. Coin purse. Yeah, you have that nice expensive gun belt that keeps your holster and mags nice and parallel to your body, but the TOTAL WEIGHT of your pants tends to move them south when you walk. I have found a solution. Belt-clip suspenders. Undershirt, belt clip suspenders, outer shirt untucked. The suspenders don't show, your rig does not show, and your pants stay where they belong. When nature calls, the suspenders easily unclip from the belt and stay in place until you re-attach them. If you get the wide ones and adjust them properly, they are very comfortable.1 point

I started wearing suspenders a few years ago while working in the yard. Got tired of pulling up my pants every time I bent over. Well...it worked so well I just started wearing them all the time. Usually like AmPaTerry says, just under my top shirt. And since I do suffer from the old age bulge; it's much more comfortable as well.1 point

As far as keys go, we had two different house keys. I finally got tired of that and had all of the cylinders rekeyed to have one key. And I replaced the lock on the door we use most frequently with a digital keypad (not WiFi though so I can't control it via an app). No more house key for me. :) Any lock that can be a combination instead of a key is getting replaced. I only have the key for the vehicle which I'm driving. The keys for the others stay home. If I need to switch vehicles, I switch keys. I can't wait for TN-DOS to finally join this century and go digital on the identification. Then I can shed the DL and HCP and replace them with an App (or even better, an image in my existing KeyRing app). As NFC grows, soon enough I'll be able to shed the Credit and Debit cards too. I'll be left with an RFID card. I have a cheap Kershaw Burst knife that weighs a fairly light 4.6oz, but I see that the Protech Newport is only 2.2oz....tempting but pricey when compared to my cheap-o Kershaw. If I lose the Kershaw, I'm not going to cry about it.1 point

I missed the other half of this earlier - pistol AR (PCC) would not be allowed, or give you any advantage. Pistols must shoot pistol calibers, and rifles must shoot rifle calibers. It doesn't sound like you were leaning that way anyway, but I figured I'd better post this in case anyone else wonders about PCC.1 point

I'd like to know "the rest of the story". Small market equipped with a heavily armored "safe room" attacked by multiple gunmen with long arms?? Doesn't sound like a typical quick in, quick out smash and grab operation to me.1 point

Concur, those suspenders are great! They balance the weight and save the back too. I personally don't like keys, at all. So I carry the only one I need when I need to carry it.1 point

Something I forgot to add; the Pitbull is built on the larger Bulldog frame. In fact, it was originally a 6 shot 9mm but was redesigned to be a five shot to make it more reliable. It is not as large as a k frame Smith, but it isn't a j frame or a LCR size gun either. I don't know who makes a good ankle holster for it.1 point

I vote for the Glock 43 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEtwi3b5E_g1 point

Wheel guns are NOT more reliable. You ever looked at the inside of one? Much like a watch........lots of small parts. When they lock up, they are really locked up. If you fall in the creek how is that wheel gun not going to get muddy too? In fact, you may be stuck up to your knees in mud and no way to access your gun. Quick swish in the water and most of your reliable autos should still be working. Now with that said, if you like your wheel gun you can keep your wheel gun (sound familiar?) Like others, I would carry another auto in same caliber like the 43, CM9 etc.1 point

I don't like covering up the taste of the meat. If I wanted to cover something up so I couldn't taste it I'd get a friggin salad. I go light on seasoning because I only want to spice things I cook not cause my blood pressure to skyrocket. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk1 point

I've cooked most of my adult life and actually prefer my own cooking. The wife does good with most things but game is something I do myself. I tried Dale's one time and threw the rest out. I don't know anything that dale's would make better.1 point

The wife and I both got the $500 lifetime carry permits last year. We are far too old for it to be a good economic decision, but I looked at it this way: The government usually tries to reduce screams and cries from the populace by grandfathering in the present folks, and placing the restrictions on those in the future. Take SS, for instance. They did NOT cut SS for those drawing it, but instead grandfathered them in and placed the new age limits only on those that were not receiving it yet. Due to this, I figure that if TN decides to stop the carry permit program at any time in the future, they will simply stop issuing new permits rather than try to cancel all those already issued, and deal with all the repercussions that would bring. I figured that by getting our lifetime permits, we are pretty safe to have the right to carry even if the political tide turns against us.1 point

I've carried a lot of different BUG's over the years but only two were in the same caliber as my primary service handgun. The concept of ammunition compatibility between the primary and BUG is more of a nice concept then actual practicality from my viewpoint. As to the Charco Pitbull in 9mmP. I believe I'd rather go with a Ruger LCR in 9mmP instead for peace of mind. Ankle carry is best on he inside of your weak side ankle for accessibility from kneeling, sitting and prone positions. It also conceals better and doesn't hang up on things as you step over or around them as much as on the outside of your ankle. IMHO you'd be better served by going with a weak side pocket carry using a Ruger LCP or KelTec P3AT both of which are in .380 ACP.1 point

My mom has a Ruger LCR 9mm. I always thought it would make a nice ankle gun (although, I'd prob go 357 but that's another thread ). I'm not familiar with the pitbul other than the internet. As far as ankle carry... I prefer on the inside of the left ankle (right handed). That way I don't bump it on everything, conceals better, it's not my driving foot and I can draw it better. With that said, I have a real hard time with it. Maybe I just don't have a good enough holster, but my G43 and PF9 seems way too clumsy on my ankle. I can get away with a light 380 (i.e, P3AT), but I still feel like I'm going to loose it.1 point
