  1. You know sometimes when you go to the gun store knowing you're going to buy something but you just don't know what? I had one of those days yesterday. Usually it's something specific I go for but yesterday I just had an itch to play eenie meenie. After handling a few single action cowboy guns, a M1A socom and a nice Henry Golden Boy .22lr I figured why not get an AK. I've had 2 WASR's in the past few years and kick myself in the ass for ever trading them off. So an AK was the only thing missing from my collection. I wasn't crazy about a folder. Especially an under folder but this one ended up following me home. I usually don't buy on a whim but sometimes it's just fun. Once I got home and did a little research on the gun it seems to be an ok rifle. I bought a couple Pmags and ran about 240 rounds through it. The sights were dead on (no canted sights horror stories). It's an N PAP DF. To my understanding it's Serbian made by Zastava Arms and imported by Century. Even though I've owned a couple I'm not known as an "AK guy" but I am very impressed with this gun so far. Does anyone here have any experience with this brand? Let me know, good or bad.

  2. My wife and I have enjoyed Friday night date nights with dinner and a movie at Indian Lake Regal Cinema for a number of years. We have enjoyed the movies and the location. I missed one week only to arrive a week later to find they had posted the state required Hand Gun on the doors. Knowing the manager for years I voiced my concern and he told me he was mandated by the corporate leadership to post the signs. I made it clear, kindly, of my disappointment that I would not be able any longer to visit his theater because he did not allow me to protect myself and my wife while in his theater. Please pass this along so we can write their corporate office and make a boycott of their theater help to encourage them to change this policy.

  3. Aren’t theaters fighting to stay alive? Doesn’t seem like they would want to run customers off; especially ones that go every week. I think it’s really sad that businesses that have nothing to do with guns or the gun industry have to make these choices that will have zero impact on criminals.

  4. For the Korea guys. Old photos from a piss poor photographer (me) on a scanner leave lots to be desired but for those that hit the villes, especially up north, you'll remember The Z Home for a year Big bullets Back when DPICM was new. On the Dragons Head, North of the Imjin, just south of the DMZ (so they could hear us practicing) Easter on the Imjin River Can't remember the name of this outpost. There were two on the east and west sides of the road leading to the UN area. That's looking out over the DMZ and into the north.

  8. It is probably a loose connection, but I would call an electrician if you don't know for sure what you are doing.

  9. Thanks bud! Yeah I thought Id never build an "artsy" AR but when I saw how much the copper complimented the carbon fiber I was in. Im not going to polish the copper and I want it to patina. The brake already is starting ti patina with only 40 rounds through it. Next I might look in to getting the lower parts and forward assist copper plated.

  11. I like fishing and have been doing it since I could walk to the nearest fishing hole. Well recently I was hurt and just getting to where I can try to fish and other things. Found out that using my spinning and casting stuff causes some pain. I recently tried some spin cast outfits and found they works better, pain wise, than other types. Picked up a Zebco 33 with 5 bearings and a Quantum Ultrex rod for light use. It is a nice setup with 6 to 8 pound line. Trying to relearn how to use it since I haven't used a spin cast outfit for many years. I use my left arm a lot less, for some reason, with this setup than spinning or casting and have found it is very nice and easy to use, just not real great with it yet. Anyone else change methods of fishing due to illness or injury?

  12. I like it. Its flashy enough without being tacky or gaudy. But as a retired Sailor I would just let it tarnish as my polishing days are over. LOL

  16. In May the CMP halted orders to catch up on the backlog of waiting orders. The CMP has a limited staff and the flood of new orders (panic buying) put them behind on inspections and so it made no sense to continue accepting orders until they are caught up. The CMP has halted orders in the past to catch up 2005, 2007, and other times. Once backorders are cleared, an effort will be made to build up some kind of inventory to prevent new orders from overcoming the system. There has been no date released as to when they will begin to take orders again, but they were several months behind when the halt took place. Recommend that you follow this link and sign up for CMP email alerts. https://visitor.r20.constantcontact.com/manage/optin?v=001rJNzy1LBqypni94HOgXhSWSZ5E59fNa_y5QO8ctFAIk6eX709j8svV-z7pi51yqTB-xlv_wO9C0ZQaWBgr68B1EBFSY_yosE

  18. That's the way liberals think business wise. They had rather stick by their ideology of controlling people rather than abide by capitalism and profits. Liberalism is a mental disease. Because of the Hollywood liberal activist actors and the theater posting of gun buster signs I find myself very seldom going to movies. I'm not going to this week's opening of Jason Bourne b/c of Matt Damon's anti-gun stance.

  19. I've visited the Dayton and Columbus area many times, been to the Museum 3 or 4 times over the last 15 years. I still don't feel like I've adequately seen and done all there is to do there. There's also an access to the old Huffman Prairie field on the base, and a downtown tour of old Dayton which includes several sites having to do with the Wrights. The airport south of town ( too lazy to look up the name now) has a replica of a Wright model B flyer which is periodically available for rides, or used to be. If you also happen to be into cars, particularly Fords, the Mid-Ohio Ford club hosts the world's largest all-Ford swap meet in Columbus twice per year, Columbus is about an hour from Dayton.

  20. The nut goes all the way in flush and is then staked. Usually if anything it sticks out too far from not being cleaned properly. The only way it could go too far is if the bore or nut was damaged or machined. I can’t find a spec on the depth.

  22. No experience with the brand, but some with the stock vs. folder debate. Once you get used to it, the under folder isn't bad at all, and the benefit of low-vis transportation options and/or easier storage is a nice offset. If you're going to use it for anything where you might need to deploy the stock fast, get used to storing it without a mag inserted to save those few seconds. Also, you might want to feel around, and file down any sharp edges you can find on the stock. It's annoying if you cut yourself or find holes in your clothes where it rubbed while slung.

  32. Those Orcas are damn nice! If they'd been just a little bit cheaper I probably would have suggested we only use the 27oz since it's kinda halfway between the 20oz and 30oz RTIC. What you have there is a customized limited edition!

  33. FYI - Interstate Arms (IAC)/H&R are virtually the same thing. IAC has better furniture and sight options. Here's what i did with my current IAC Hawk 982. Hogue 12" LOP stock, side saddle, Choate 870 +1 mag extension and 870 Choate HG. Altogether, ran me under $300.

  34. My opinion of the .22 as a self defense weapon is this: If I shoot you 4 or 5 times in the face with a .22 and you still want more, I done shot the wrong guy...

  35. On my 2nd deployment in my first command, HS-14, onboard the USS Ranger (CV-61) we had one of our helos, a SH-3H Sea King, land on the USS Missouri (BB-63) due to MGB chip lights. She steamed along side to hop our broken helo over back to the Ranger. And she put on a little show.

  37. Getting an HCP is one thing. It's a start, but also an end for a lot of people. Carrying everyday, everywhere you can, and caring about gun rights like we do is another matter entirely.
