The Optima is like a Wolf with a tie on. A fancier version if you will. They're nice!2 points

I don’t know what the extras in that package are worth, but here is the same rifle with a scope mount for $75 less. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/82284/CVA+PR2110M+Wolf+209+Magnum+Break-Action+50cal+24"+BluedBlack+w+Mount2 points

The Wolf is a great rifle. I have the CVA Optima which is similar, and a buddy has the Wolf. It's a great deal, and I wouldn't hesitate to get one. I have shot more deer during muzzleloader season than any other season. It's a great time to be in the TN woods hunting deer.1 point

I'm interested! A couple questions--any recommendations for how to train if you live in the city? Running the streets of Bartlett with an AR probably won't end well. Also, any idea of round count yet? Roughly what is the average distance between COFs? I'm glad something like this is this close to home and is not over 300 yards. My 1-3 scope does not inspire confidence at 500 yards lol.1 point

Born and raised about 20 miles away. I've since moved down here 6 years ago and it's probably been about 15 since I was last at the museum, at that point I was too young to carry. As others have said, there are no checkpoints driving up to the museum, I guess I don't see where leaving it in the car is a problem... legally, not sure...jmo When I left the state cops weren't to well informed of permit holders so traffic stops were still somewhat frustrating at times. They've gotten a lot more informed and better now though. Just don't speed on I 75 between Cincinnati and Dayton...way too many OSP sitting and waiting.1 point

Was there 25+ years ago and 3 years ago, could not believe how much it had grown. If you want to do the special tours go early and immediately go to the main desk and sign up, they limit how many can go each day. We did not make the cut and plan a return trip in the future.1 point

The CVA Wolf is the best value in all of deer hunting. I bought one on a lark at Wal Mart when they were $99. It's all I've hunted with since, and you can't imagine how surprised I was with it's accuracy, good trigger, and ease of cleaning. You'll probably want some rings and a scope. You'll also need a dogbone type capper, and some shotgun primers. I like the 777 pellets for ease of use with powder charges. You can buy them in tubes, or in a larger box. Get some tubes and keep them to carry these in your pocket. The powerbelt bullets work great for me. I shoot the 295 grain green tipped ones and 2 50 grain 777 pellets.. My son has one like it, and it prefers the platinum bullets, and 2 60 grain 777 pellets. What's really cool about these is you don't have to shoot them to unload them. Just pull the breechplug and push the powder pellets and bullet out the breech end of the barrel. No cleaning necessary. The muzzleloader season is typically the peak of the rut here, and my absolute favorite time of year to deer hunt.1 point

That's why I never use my real name as a screen name, too many loons out there. I don't hide it or anything, but only the ones with a need to know will know.1 point

In my country, the directorate of defense trade controls doesn't have the authority to make law, (congress does), nor do they have the authority to interpret law (the judicial branch does), so this means nothing to me.1 point

They are busy trying to appease the Bernie voters at the moment and looking for someone to head the DNC all the while trying to make the Hildebeast look like anything other than the lying, crooked, backstabbing liberal that she is.1 point

I have updated our "code of conduct" (Rules) this afternoon to add one new one. This comes on the heels of a conversation with a former Vendor / Sponsor of TGO who had expressed some concerns to me via email about our advertising program. Specifically, they voiced a concern that I have long suspected existed because of the amount of latitude that we have historically allowed our members when it comes to airing grievances. Folks, it is vitally important for our continued existence that TGO have sponsors who are willing to pay to advertise here. We need their patronage! Further, it is usually very beneficial for our members when we have sponsors because those sponsors generally go out of their way to provide perks to TGO members. When things work smoothly, we have excellent mutually beneficial relationships between TGO, Vendors and Members. However, the speed at which and distance to which verbal attacks on a person (or in this case a Sponsor) can spread on the Internet are staggering. One person with a chip on their shoulder can slander the reputation of a business or individual from the relative anonymity of their keyboard, and do terrible financial damage. It's one thing for that to happen in the wild wide-open of the Internet. No one can really protect against that. But it is another thing entirely for it to happen within the confines of a community like TGO, and made even worse when the Sponsor is helping pay for the service that makes that slander possible. Think about it for a moment. Why would YOU want to pay to make it possible for someone to trash your reputation? Legitimate, reasonable complaints against a vendor should be taken up with them PRIVATELY and them be given the chance to resolve the issue. This has always been my stance, however it was never codified into an official rule or policy on TGO. I have addressed that short-sight in this new rule. Your cooperation, if not your understanding, is appreciated. As always, you can read all of the TGO Rules (all eight of them) at this link: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/guidelines/ Rule #8.) Absolutely NO Vendor / Sponsor Bashing Bashing our Vendors / Sponsors in the open forum will not be tolerated for any reason. If you have a problem with a Vendor or Sponsor of TGO, contact them via a private message (PM) or email them directly. If they do not help you after you contact them via PM, let one of the site administrators know and we will check into the matter. Anyone bashing a Vendor or Sponsor in the open forum will be subject to being banned. The length of the ban will be up to the administrators. We have yet to see a forum sponsor fail to help a member with a complaint if the complaint is legitimate and reasonable. These folks help keep the lights on around here and we will not be party to biting the hand that helps feed us.1 point

Every one of them should be charged with disorderly conduct at a minimum. They should also be charged with this: And yet another I would charge them with: And finally, Riot:1 point

If you haven't watched this video...I suggest you do. The information it presents is both fascinating and terrifying. At least to an old out of shape guy like me.1 point

I remember seeing a show years ago where a couple automotive crash test engineers decided it would be fun to do analysis of a variety of professional martial artists. They wired up some dummies and told the fighters to do their worst. The results were staggering.1 point

Ditto. If I'm going to participate in a full contact sport with that much physical interaction I want it to be with a nekkid lady. Some of the fighters are fun to watch though, BJ Pen and George ST Pierre are polar opposite fighters but two of the most intense back when I was watching it socially.1 point
