It seems to me that it was staged, Erdogan is in purge mode. My guess is he's gonna go full on Isis. We have troops and nukes at Incirlik. The organizer is quiet on this so that makes me think he approves and wouldn't shed a tear if we lose our folks and weapons.2 points

Assuming the extractor itself is in spec (it probably is) this has worked for a lot of folks with short-barreled ARs: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Extractor-Spring-Uprade-Kit-p/bcm-exspring-1.htm But it's mainly just the stiffer spring, o-ring seldom needed. You can get an o-ring at hardware store, it's a # 60, and you can get a stiffer spring elsewhere too. But a convenient way to get it all in one kit. - OS2 points

That is my concern more than any other of this entire election is the Supreme Court. It can destroy our Constitution and alter Americans total way of life begining with the 2nd Amendment. That alone should be enough to bring out every Republican, Conservative, Independent and even some Democrats that are firearms owners to swing vote away from the DNC. That is also a good point by several that have mentioned we need to also make sure we cast votes that will help us remain in control of the House and Senate. This is the election that is more about our childrens futures than ours. All I can ask is what kind of future do you want for your children and grandchildren?................jmho2 points

I'm playing. It encouraged me to do an extra mile and a half on my bike last night to get to another Poke-stop. I set a new personal best longest ride with Runkeeper and wouldn't have done it if I hadn't seen the Poke-stop off in the distance on my map. The Bellevue Greenway has a Poke-stop at every entrance and two Poke-gyms along the way. I can see it encouraging area kids to beg their parents to take them to the greenway and walk/bike to each stop. There are worse things. I think it's kind of fun for now. We'll see how long it lasts. I just started Sarturday and hit Level 5 last night.....now will I be Mystic, Valor, or Instinct?2 points

Here's my shockwave gun. Still in progress but it's firing. I have a keymod light mount in route, and it needs a front sight and BCM kag grip. It's a 11.5" mid-length cut down from 14.5" barrel by our very own@Dolomite_supafly. Sorry about the crappy picture, will take better ones once it's actually finished.1 point

As posted over on Rokslide...... "ATLAS COOLER SHIPPING UPDATE 7/22/2016:All,I am back from the backcountry of CO and just got off the phone with the owner of Atlas (he is out of the country at present), here is Group Buy status directly from him:1) ALL coolers ordered from the Group Buy have arrived stateside and are in the port in Long Beach, CA and waiting to clear customs. ALL tumblers needed to fulfill Group Buy orders are in stock at Atlas.2) Long Beach, CA port is running slower than expected releasing containers through customs, our container is now 9 days overdue for delivery to ATLAS' fulfillment center.3) Immediately upon Long Beach releasing the container, it will travel by rail to Houston, then private semi straight to Atlas' fulfillment (It will only take the container 4 days to arrive at ATLAS' fulfillment center once cleared by Long Beach customs).I again reiterate, Atlas' *primary* business focus is large volume sales to big box stores, this Group Buy was an accommodation for us. Regrets to all that the timeline is running a little slower than planned. In addition, an unexpected/unplanned very large order from a big box store came in early in the Group Buy timeline, that order took precedence and killed the inventory they had on hand. Once that big box order hit, ATLAS put together a dedicated order for our Group Buy. That order, as stated, is in Long Beach. Supposition and flaming are not constructive to trying to get this deal done.I am sorry about the delays on this, but anyone who has real heartburn and feels a need to flame Atlas is free to go on line and cancel their order any time before this Sunday. ATLAS will hold a window open until this Sunday for anyone that wants to kill their order. However, as stated before, I know for a fact that any future deals will not be priced as favorably, nor will they have the free shipping terms we got on this gig, so pick your poison. It is just a reality of business that ATLAS planned that the container would arrive within their normal window of expectation and that Long Beach is operating outside normal parameters and did not read that plan.I hope this provides some clarity.Best to all-JL" I really hope this all comes together quickly & smoothly and doesn't go anything like the 'Rtic fiasco' I feel responsible seeing as I posted this here.1 point

My suggestion, which is what I'm running right now, would be to use this buffer + Wolff xp buffer spring. Reasoning is the buffer itself is longer which does away with the need for spacers and such when using a regular carbine buffer...so no broken bolt catches. Also, it's heavier, which you'll need in a 10mm http://heavybuffers.com/9q.html If not it, I would run their "T" version, which is even heavier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Good safety call. However, I'm not so much worried about the bolts being a safety hazard when the safe is removed. I'm more concerned with the difficulty of moving the safe and reinstalling it with the bolts left in the floor.1 point

Yep on the Maverick. I have a Maverick Security 88. They are available in an 18.5 inch barrel but I chose the 20 inch barrel because it holds one more round in the tube mag Basically, it is a Mossberg 500 'clone' that is actually made by Mossberg. In fact, they often have a 'Mossberg' sticker on the stock when purchased new. Functionally, the biggest difference, to my understanding, is the position of the safety (some folks actually prefer the Maverick on that aspect.) There used to be a difference in the forearm setup, too (so that Mossberg forearms wouldn't fit the Maverick unless you changed some things out) but I am not sure if that is still the case. To my understanding, Mossberg is able to sell the Maverick shotguns for a little less because some of the work on them is done in Mexico (I think some of the parts are made there and the shotguns are actually assembled in the U.S.but can't recall, for sure.) The buttstocks and (to my understanding) barrels made for a Mossberg 500 will fit the Maverick. Be aware that there are also Maverick 88 models that have 'full-length' barrels. There are a couple of the 'full length' versions that are available in 20 gauge but the Security models are only available in 12 gauge. http://www.mossberg.com/category/series/maverick-88/1 point

I've had several of the H&R's. They're arguably a better gun than the 870 (higher quality steel) and parts interchange. Barrels swap as well, with a little mod. I prefer them to the Remington's.1 point
-
The H&R is a 870 clone, including the steel receiver. The maverick and 500 are not steel. Academy has the H&R for 179.99 this week.1 point

I have updated our "code of conduct" (Rules) this afternoon to add one new one. This comes on the heels of a conversation with a former Vendor / Sponsor of TGO who had expressed some concerns to me via email about our advertising program. Specifically, they voiced a concern that I have long suspected existed because of the amount of latitude that we have historically allowed our members when it comes to airing grievances. Folks, it is vitally important for our continued existence that TGO have sponsors who are willing to pay to advertise here. We need their patronage! Further, it is usually very beneficial for our members when we have sponsors because those sponsors generally go out of their way to provide perks to TGO members. When things work smoothly, we have excellent mutually beneficial relationships between TGO, Vendors and Members. However, the speed at which and distance to which verbal attacks on a person (or in this case a Sponsor) can spread on the Internet are staggering. One person with a chip on their shoulder can slander the reputation of a business or individual from the relative anonymity of their keyboard, and do terrible financial damage. It's one thing for that to happen in the wild wide-open of the Internet. No one can really protect against that. But it is another thing entirely for it to happen within the confines of a community like TGO, and made even worse when the Sponsor is helping pay for the service that makes that slander possible. Think about it for a moment. Why would YOU want to pay to make it possible for someone to trash your reputation? Legitimate, reasonable complaints against a vendor should be taken up with them PRIVATELY and them be given the chance to resolve the issue. This has always been my stance, however it was never codified into an official rule or policy on TGO. I have addressed that short-sight in this new rule. Your cooperation, if not your understanding, is appreciated. As always, you can read all of the TGO Rules (all eight of them) at this link: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/guidelines/ Rule #8.) Absolutely NO Vendor / Sponsor Bashing Bashing our Vendors / Sponsors in the open forum will not be tolerated for any reason. If you have a problem with a Vendor or Sponsor of TGO, contact them via a private message (PM) or email them directly. If they do not help you after you contact them via PM, let one of the site administrators know and we will check into the matter. Anyone bashing a Vendor or Sponsor in the open forum will be subject to being banned. The length of the ban will be up to the administrators. We have yet to see a forum sponsor fail to help a member with a complaint if the complaint is legitimate and reasonable. These folks help keep the lights on around here and we will not be party to biting the hand that helps feed us.1 point

Since the bcg is the same between 556 and 300blk, I would pull a bcg out of a working gun and try it in the pistol. This will give you some idea of which parts are being problematic. I'm betting a new extractor will be your answer. PSA AR15 Extractor - 1346 $13.99 in stock at Palmetto State Armory1 point

Personally, I prefer these - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-1-2-in-x-2-in-Drop-In-Anchor-50-per-Pack-DIA50/205299212 If properly installed, they sit slightly below the floor so there is nothing to trip over or step on. I usually use a little masonry epoxy when I install them, but it isn't necessary. This gives you a little more flexibility. If you wanted to add risers, like mentioned above, you just use a longer bolt.1 point
-
I have seen inserts (lead and stainless steel) that will drop into a drilled hole in the concrete (similar to drywall inserts for screws). Then you would run a bolt down through the safe and into the inset. The ones I have seen expand when the bolt goes in. I think I would also consider epoxing the inserts in the concrete to help hold them in place so you can remove and reinstall the bolts.1 point

We couldn't touch it, but we were no more than 10 feet from it. Definitely one of the best field trips I ever had. Thinking back on it, growing up as a military kid had it's down sides, but it had some pretty amazing things too. Flying in a KC-135 to watch refueling operations, up close and personal with the Habu, touring the USS Wasp, flying an actual F-15 simulator, and getting a personal tour (just me and my dad) by the XO and the Chief of a nuclear attack submarine are pretty awesome experiences. Few people ever get to do any of those things, much less all of them.1 point

Gun owning, flashlight swinging douche bag reporting in... I support civil disobedience 1000%. I think if you aren't willing to do so you aren't 100% american. But, you need to be prepared to pay the price and the times I've stood up when I perceived an injustice I was fully prepared to go jail. So far I haven't had that happen. I think it may have something to do with the fact that when the police officer walked up and said "ok, you've made your point, move over there or I'm going to have to take you in" I did this really strange thing: I moved. As a result I was able to continue to convey my message and I didn't get tazed or shot or hit or arrested. As far as Christmas parades and other types of events, those are typically properly permitted and the details are publicized well in advance so that the rest of us who don't care to participate can plan an alternative route and not be overly inconvenienced. If you don't understand the fundamental difference in the 2 situations then it turns out you are the idiot gun owning douche bag that makes the rest of us cringe. If you do understand the difference and just lost your mind for a moment, good. Next time you want to protest something give me a shout and I will come stand in the street with you. I might even bring a flashlight for you as well. BTW, at least in my post, no one said anything about "plowing through a crowd". I think the words used were to slowly move. That way everyone had an opportunity to easily move out of the way and then fill the gap behind me. Mark1 point

Looks to me like you have to stay in a maintenance position instead of being able to transfer to a different job title within the company. But you still have to have a permit to be able to have in vehicle in any posted lot, including employee parking. Same for school property. The blanket allowance under 39-17-1307 does not cover you regarding the prohibitions in other statutes. It only exempts you from illegal possession under that one statute. - OS1 point

If you're just getting started with a caner study up on it, it can be a pressure bomb. Don't have the time to tell you about my first experience and my ceiling decorated with pretty little green beans years ago. Also get the Bible of canning, "Balls Caning Guide" and exactly follow those procedures. It's important to do it safely and not get hurt and/or poison yourself / family eating your processed food.1 point
