Western country leaders lack the guts to do what needs to be done to deal with ISIS. There is no reason that ISIS should have a functioning nation within Syria. Why have the power supplies, gas lines, food, and water lines not been cut off to the ISIS cities?3 points

When I had my 20 I planned on getting the 40 barrel too. In a pinch you can shoot the 40 out of the 10 barrel, but it is hard on the extractor and reliability suffers. I ultimately ended up reloading because of the 10mm which wasn't a bad thing.2 points

I guess I should have added. I also swapped the stock as the factory one is junk. I bought a an unfinished Boyds Tacticool for $89 and painted it. I also added a cheek riser. (No, i don't shoot it off that rest. It just happened to be sitting on top of that safe )2 points

I am doing this exact same thing. The Savage trigger wins all day vs Ruger. I am ordering a Boyd's varmint stock w thumbhole in the gray/blue laminate. The factory Savage stock is garbage. Think Crossman BB gun. Blech. But the action, trigger, and barrel are top notch. And I already have a 10/22 and a bazillion mags for it... still getting the Savage.2 points

Now for a little bit of a reality check to the rampant fear mongering hopefully from a source some of y'all will accept. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/07/14/national-day-of-rage-plotted-for-july-15-use-this-as-a-list-of-places-not-to-be/ It's a hoax by Anonymous. Don't let your prejudices put you on edge and cause you to make the news. Mmmkay?2 points

Two assailants approached an off-duty sheriff's deputy in Colorado. Based on my reading of the story they intended to rob him and probably didn't know he was a deputy. Anyhow, during the course of the incident one of the assailants was shot in the leg and arrested. Unfortunately, the deputy was also wounded. The really interesting thing in the story, however, is that one of the deputy's shots appears to have gone right down the barrel of a pistol being wielded by one of the assailants. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/deputy-fires-1-in-a-billion-shot-into-suspects-gun-barrel/ar-BBuldnh?ocid=ansmsnnews111 point

Their small batch is very, very good. A bit hot, but if you find it too strong you can always open it up a little with an ice cube or splash of water. Willet Family Estate Rye is amazing.1 point

I've shot both a lot and owned the Ruger in several variations. I would go Ruger all day. The trigger is made to self tinker with. It is very easy to get it to < 2lbs and crisp. Using Wolf Std Vel that Ruger will really shoot. The Savage is OK, and a pretty good shooter too. Also those Ruger American Rimfire stocks are pretty good, not like the Savage plastic stocks at all. For a working rifle I would keep the Ruger stock on the gun, adjust the trigger to sub 2lbs and shock the snot out of folks who have spent serious money on chasing accuracy and reliability within certain price points. The last Ruger American .22LR I had would shoot as well as any of the several CZs I used to own. I think it would have given my late Kimber of Oregon Stainless Classic a run for its money too. I think the Ruger American .22lr is the best value in decent shooting .22s without having to break the bank. I'm thinking with a bit of tinkering it might shoot alongside the Anschutz sporters. At least as good that squirrels wouldn't know what killed them...Ruger American or Anschutz. P.S. The quality and variety of Ruger magazines can't be beat.1 point

You need a cow #### cannon for the tourists. You have plenty of ammo. I'm thinking a modified spud gun.1 point

A different attack in France, but here's some perspective on what we're dealing with here. http://heatst.com/uk/exclusive-france-suppressed-news-of-gruesome-torture-at-bataclan-massacre/ You ain't gonna talk these folks into peace. They have to be removed from society.1 point

You could always get your wife her own bike... My wife picked this up last week. 883 Superlow. Mine is a 1200 Nightster. "So he cocked both his pistols, spit in the dirt, and walked out in to the street."1 point

I put one in my 43. Makes the trigger lighter. I haven't messed with my 42 yet, but should yield the same results1 point

Why would anyone want to defile their G20 with a .40 conversion...1 point

I bought the savage as a host, although I am still waiting on the stamp. I will say it is alright for the money, but the stock is horrible. It is like it was built for a child. If you are an average sized adult or bigger, plan on a new stock. I will be buying a boyds stock for mine shortly.1 point

Yes it's built off the AR-10 platform. Here are a couple groups shot at 100 and 300 yards using factory ammo.1 point

Little late, but we didn't have any luck this year at our family farm. It was our first year though, purchased some land in Fayette County back in February. Heard some gobbles as well as a good bit of hens, but no luck, have seen plenty of both since the season has ended, I think they know! In the past few weeks we have seen a hen with 8 poults and another with 10 on our game cameras, looking forward to next year. Will hopefully take out some coyotes/raccoons which seem to show up more than anything on our game cameras between now and next season. Enjoyed seeing everyone's pictures.1 point

On a side note, you can get a basic course free of charge if you are a veteran or active military. See H-D website. Slow riding is much more of a "skill" than riding at speed, so you're well on your way. Congratulations on the new bike.1 point

I rarely post here, but felt like throwing in my 2 cents. Find a class and take the course. Its worth it. I've ridden for a long time, (42 years lol), and the biggest dangers in my opinion are texting/distracted drivers. Situational awareness! Enjoy the ride but keep your head on a swivel. I've had more close calls in the last five years than all the previous years combined and I chalk it up to cell phones. Congrats on the bike! I've got a sportster 1200s with a few mods.
