Nancy Pelosi called Harry Reid into her office one day and said, "Harry, I have a plan to win back Middle America in 2016!" "Great Nancy, but how?" asked Harry. "We'll get some cheesy clothes and shoes, like most Middle Class Americans wear, then stop at the pound and pick up a Labrador retriever. Then, we'll go to a nice old country bar in Montana and show them how much admiration and respect we have for the hard working people living there." So they did, and found just the place they were looking for in Bozeman , Montana. With the dog in tow, they walked inside and stepped up to the bar. The Bartender took a step back and said, "Hey! Aren't you Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi?" "Yes we are!" said Nancy, "And what a lovely town you have here. We were passing through and Harry suggested we stop and take in some local color." They ordered a round of bourbon for the whole bar, and started chatting up a storm with anyone who would listen. A few minutes later, a grizzled old rancher came in, walked up to the Labrador, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, shrugged his shoulders and walked out. A few moments later, in came another old rancher. He walked up to the dog, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, scratched his head and left the bar. For the next hour, another dozen ranchers came in, lifted the dog's tail, and left shaking their heads. Finally, Nancy asked, "Why did all those old ranchers come in and look under the dog's tail? Is it some sort of custom?" "Lord no," said the bartender. "Someone's out there running around town, claiming there's a Labrador Retriever in here with two a$$holes!"9 points

Regardless of one's idea of fairness, doing the right thing for the right reasons is its own reward. Regardless of the idiocy of their governments of folks's home states, allowing folks the ability to have the means to defend themselves is the right thing to do. Just because others act a fool, does not require us to act in kind.6 points

Probably not the best 1st post a bit out of left field... but giving you the benefit of the doubt I'll say... Stay out of the way and don't give the LEO's another person to worry about.4 points

I suggest that if you're going to make your first post this incendiary you might want to link to some corroborating links. After all we really don't know you at all.4 points

Thanks for the great info guys. Budgetary concerns weighed in the decision, but I stopped at the LGS this morning and picked up an Anderson Mfg. complete lower and a pair of Magpul 30 rd. mag's (for $250 after tax and Background). I'll be shopping for uppers/parts as the budget allows, but I'm glad to have gotten these two parts out of the way given everything going on. Now I can spend a little more on the rest of the bits and pieces and hopefully end up w/ an item I'm happy with. They DID have the M&P Sport model complete for $659, which was very temping (can't build it that quality for that price), but the wife would castrate me if I dropped 700-clams right now, LOL! Thanks again! - K3 points

Picked this up from my FFL dealer yesterday. Scoped it today and shot a few factory rounds thru it and managed to shoot a 4.5" group at 750 yards with factory Hornady ammo.2 points

Went out yesterday "looking at guns" and came home with this. Been wanting one for a long time for the sole purpose to SBR. Sportsmans Warehouse in Chattanooga had one and here we are now. We all know whats next: let the wait begin. The real trouble is going to be finding a CZ stock kit for it I believe. Time to join all the email notification lists I guess! My previous sarcastic remark aside, the Dallas Police HQ is currently under lockdown for an anonymous "credible" threat...Fox & CNN words. I hope a bunch of those Texas open carry rifle assholes don't show up to help. What a mess that would be.2 points

The technical reason is simply that TN honors all other states' permits by statute. It would have to amended by the legislature to change that. - OS2 points

The honest answer, .223 isn't ever really hearing safe. Assuming AR platform, the bolt noise(just release, not firing)alone is above noise levels suggested. Also, the gas bleed off from the bolt is loud. A 9" can isn't necessary. You could easily do 7-8" 1.5" can and get great results. The 1.625" option is nice, I have 2 that use this size, 7" and one 8.5".1 point

Received my trigger today for what I think is my complete build list (minus scope). This will be my first and probably only AR10 so I hope it turns out as good as I think it should. More to come!1 point

I am sure there is some data somewhere, but I couldn't tell you where. Aluminum transfers heat much better than steel and the fins will certainly help it cool better. How much, I don't know. Some of it is I just like the way it looks.1 point

I think this pretty much answers your question without much flack.1 point

AND made a little north of here in KY! Wanted to make sure I was buying American for several reasons, I'm sure everyone here understands. Now do I go for the rest from Anderson and get their no-lube features? Anyone have any experience with that system? - K1 point

If you want to learn, buy cheap stuff and build the rifle. Then sell it. That’s what a lot of people are doing and eventually they work their way into a rifle that is truly a quality rifle. Just keep in mind there are some quality factory rifles out there pretty cheap right now. Anything that is cheap is going to have good reviews (good or not). But like anything else you buy; quality costs. Quality is measured differently by different people. Some think its quality if the rifle fires every time without jamming, others only require a tight group, and yet others require it to put every round in the bull at long rage.1 point

The spring didn't start off too well for me. My tomato plants were in the ground two week when the neighbor started preparing his ground to plant his corn crop and was spraying something. Two days later all twenty-four tomato plants were wilted and dead. Replanted them and I'm still nowhere near my first ripe tomato yet. It's been a bumper crop for squash and Blue Lake bush green beans this year. Planted about 50 linear yards of beans and have picked maybe 8-10 bushels so far and they keep producing. I'm so tired of picking, canning and freezing green beans and I can't get anyone over to pick 'free' green beans, they will take them if they're already picked though? The difference in production this year is I spent many hours weeding the garden. It's amazing just how fast weeds will take over and how they can disguise themselves to look like a green bean leaf. Had a BIG problem with those beetles last two years eating my plants and fruit trees but surprisingly I haven't seen one beetle this year. Exception being an infestation of those yellow beetles everywhere getting into the house during the spring. Looks like I'm going to have watermelon out the wazoo just from planting 'two' little packets for a buck each. Once the vines start to spread out there's no way in the world to keep them weeded. It's going to be a big camouflaged egg hunt for them through all the high weeds when they get ready to be picked. I loves me pickled beets and this was the 'third' year I planted them from seed and failed. At best they will start to grow and then either die off or not produce any beet? Wish I knew what I was doing wrong? The packages and internet says it's a spring / fall vegetable and doesn't do well in hot weather. But my co-op and others claim you can grow them in the hot summers around here? At any rate I learned my lesson and not waste my time with beets anymore. I canned 'a lot' of salsa last year. So much so I though I'd not have to make anymore for a few years to come. Wrong! We've been completely out for quite some time now. In addition to potato chips it's great in soups, chili, crock pots and lots of dishes. I'm waiting for the wife to try it with her corn flakes, not mine! This is my third year using my American pressure canner that does 14 quart jars at one time. I really like that thing and it was worth the investment. Now I need to get me a top of the line food processor and vacuum bag sealer (any suggestions)? Wish the deer around here would allow me to grow sweet potato's, cantaloupe and grapes. I'd need an electric fence or something to keep them from eating them.1 point

google fiber is destroying AT&T fiber downtown. AT&T wouldn't let them run along with them, so they are tunneling all over the city without mapping and cutting AT&T lines on a regular basis. The guys repairing the AT&T lines are loving the $$$.1 point

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've had great coffee in the company of soldiers with drop leg holsters (FN, 45?) and long rifles slung. All I want to know is what they are carrying in their IFAKs. haha. They do things different here in Belgium.1 point
