Well I picked it up yesterday! i still have an agency TiN barrel on back order so when that comes it I will drop it in. I am currently running it with a SiCo threaded barrel. I have yet to shoot it hoping to today. I can tell you that it is noticeably lighter and after handling it for a while it starts to not feel like a glock any more. Let me know of any pictures or questions you have i will do my best to answer.3 points

I was a Police Officer when the “domestic violence” laws came into play. Prior to that it either assault (words) or battery (physical) and the Officer had discretion as we had in all misdemeanors. The women’s groups that got these laws passed claimed the cops weren’t doing their job and because of that women were continually being abused. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Any Police Officer will tell you that most people (men or women) are not prepared to leave a relationship because of a fight and never return. Many refuse to make a complaint and refuse to testify in court. The states in all their wisdom decided they wouldn’t require the victim to make a complaint; they would be the complainant. It was one of the stupidest things I had ever seen done in law enforcement. I can’t put a number on how many people I arrested on DV but it was a lot. Our hands were tied. There is nothing just or fair about it. And once you have been accused of it you will be treated like a leper; guilty or not. Some cops get tired on enforcing an unjust law that doesn’t work. Then they get the blame for it. Now don’t get me wrong; I have no qualms whatsoever about arresting a person that assaults anyone (family member or not should not matter). But it should be like other laws and require someone to make a complaint. Those who want help would get it from any Police Officer I ever met. My point? Know that if the Police are called to your home on a domestic violence call there is a high probability someone will be going to jail. Also, the cops are not social workers; they are not the people you call to fix your family problems. The probable cause required for an arrest for DV is very low; it’s right there with disorderly conduct. However, the lifelong ramifications are much greater.3 points

I'm not a periodontist, but I am a general dentist trained in periodontics. I treat perio disease with a laser using the LANAP protocol. The only FDA approved procedure using a laser. If you need implants, I place and restore those as well. I would be happy to offer a consult if you have any questions. I am well-respected on this forum and have treated several members and have nearly 30 years experience. Pardon the shameless self-promotion, but I figured I'd throw my hat on the ring. Thanks, I like QD every thing so aside from the upper receiver stripping like a FAL, I made the front end a one detent button take down. Push in this detent, spin off the flash surpressor and bingo everything just slips off the barrel! I love farting around with this stuff when I have time.2 points

Urban Camo Paracord. Hell, if it's tied to both gun and person, it's more secure than some pocket carry we've all seen!2 points

Which is why I suggested the sheriff's dept. They will use TICS, I believe. I have suggested this over the years to several customers, and it has worked well.1 point

Well, if we are going to have competition, I'll throw my hat into the ring. I have several nice sets of pliers and customers will get a pint of whatever top shelf whisky they would like. While not technically a dentist, I do stay an Holiday Inn Express on a regular basis.1 point

You would be right in assuming that I have developed a love for Glocks. However, I love the way the shield fits my hand. I have larger hands to begin with, so even the 26 fits my hand funky without the pinky extension. I have had many discussions on what pistol is the best bet for the money. In my opinion the shield wins every time. $360 OTD on the shield VS $489 OTD on the 43, I'm going with the shield. 43 is overpriced for what you are getting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I think Glock made the lead fears a lot worse. When i think about a 700 grain pill, it's damn the leading. I won't be shooting hundreds of them.1 point

Your 9 twist is MUCH more versatile than a 7 twist. If your rifle does what you want it to do and hits what you point at AND you're happy with it, tell your buddy to go sit on a pine cone.1 point

Luke, You can't go wrong with Gr8smiles. I started seeing his dad in the early 70's and then Rick took care of me until I left for college. He still takes care of my parents. Gr8smiles is good people.1 point

Yeah, the lowest I could find was this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TWZFOC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It sits higher than the stock sights. I was hoping to find something that provides 1/3 co-witness, but oh well. Full co-witness was useful to get the TRS dialed-in, but it's now sitting on this mount. Which is fine by me since it's removed quickly should it fail and I need the BUIS. (I'm not an operator after all. ) The mods on my pistol are: HBI reduced trigger spring, HBI Delta trigger shoe, HBI Theta charging handle, HBI AK safety, Yetiwurks Everest grip, GVN VTS PTK angled fore-grip with thumb rest, Streamlight TLR-4, rubber rail covers, aforementioned TRS-25, and a Manticore 3-lug adapter. Once the forms clear with ATF, it will sport the OEM stock and a Ti-Rant with Triad adapter. Out of all these, the AK safety and trigger spring are probably the must haves. If you like to meet up sometime to shoot, just holler. Can't do this weekend though, but likely the one after. It be funny to take a picture of the pistol with a tripod attached. Edit: Uhg... Of course only if shooting an Evo pistol and an Evo carbine side-by-side can't be construed as constructive possession.1 point

I was a cop in Missouri when they passed their DV law. It gave LEO's the authority to charge the "Primary Aggressor" without complaint. The DA refused to enforce it. I have to admit that I had mixed feelings about it. On one hand I had a case where a guy beat his girlfriend so badly that you couldn't recognize her for "kicking him in her sleep." Not only was she beaten but she was also chased out of her home into negative 18 degree temperatures wearing nothing but a pair of panties. Fortunately, an old couple gave her refuge in the early morning hours and called the police. The guy was out of jail on Monday because she was too afraid to cooperate with the prosecutor. On the other hand it violates the principles which drove me to be a good cop.1 point

The most relevant difference is in the buffer tube size. If you have a commercial one, just be sure to get a commercial stock if you ever want to swap it out and try a different one. A mil-spec stock will not fit on a commercial tube, and vice-versa. Many of the major manufacturers of AR furniture offer their stocks in both sizes.1 point

Yeah I believe he said something to that sort also. I am more of a pistol guy and he is a rifle guy. But I know the rifle shoots great and runs perfect. I guess he was just being arrogant. I just figured I'd ask on here to see what the heck he meant. I see now that he was probably just a smartass.1 point

Standing behind one of those is only marginally better than being in front of it. Whatever you do don't touch off one of those indoors or you will have blood running from your ears and shell shock.1 point

I think the Shield and 43 are both great guns. The only real difference, imho, is the grip. The 43 is very small versus the Shield - not in height or width, but in the depth of the grip. Everyone I come across with medium to larger hands seems to prefer the grip of the Shield, whilr the smaller hands prefer the 43. Both are excellent shooters. For some reason you have to pay an extra $100 or so for a 43, but I see no added benefit for the extra cost. I don't feel like either one is "better" than the other. You just have to pay more if you like a smaller grip. :-D1 point

I liken these coolers to other brands like G. Loomis poles, Nesmuk knives and Holland & Holland shotguns. You are paying for quality and you're getting it. It just happens to be a level of quality most of us really don't need and probably cannot utilize to max potential.1 point

I don't like it either. IMHO the Shield is a much better gun. This is the one time I choose a S&W over a Glock. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk1 point

Please stop trying to incite panic buying. You're being part of the problem. If you're in need of something, buy it. If not, let it be. That's how everyone should be right now. Nothing is going to happen in this political climate. People are up for re-election in a few months.1 point

5.56 AK and 7.62 AR? So, either of those can use whichever bathroom they want I guess? - OS1 point

The kit includes a reduced power striker spring. I put the factory striker spring back in and the FTFs stopped completely. The difference between the factory trigger return spring and the Apex trigger return spring is negligible so I saw no reason to keep any part of the kit. Even my self defense ammunition was not 100% reliable with the Apex kit. I will take a reliable 15 pound trigger over a unreliable 5 pound trigger.1 point
