  1. This is what all the freedom-loving Americans wanted after 9-11. I recall being called a traitor, a libtard, a terrorist sympathizer, and several other colorful things when I spoke out against it for this very reason. Now maybe folks are going to start understanding why we can't pick and choose how to apply civil liberties just because we are pissed at a certain group.

  2. I'd be glad to put that thing through its paces 60 miles offshore when we get into a lot of fish. This is a specialized cooler for very specific purposes. If you've got a use for it you'll be plenty happy with it.

  3. and not even then. full time employees, once they sign up for even one class, become students and thus forbidden to carry. stupid-Bill

  4. I think you have to ask yourself what you really want. I shoot AR pattern rifles for the most part and I carry Glock pistols so a AR that accepts Glock magazines made sense. It has ran like crazy for around 700 rounds so far without a hiccup. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have a Hipoint 995TS like the poster above. I may have $300 in it all together. It, just like my 9mm AR, has never stumbled. I've fed it every 9mm weight and bullet type I've had and it has digested it. Both can be a lot of fun. Like I said, I think it comes down to what you want and what you want to spend. Pic of my two

  5. If you have been wanting to buy a Benefactor membership or renew one using PayPal, I have good news for you. We are once again able to process PayPal payments! This feature was not working properly after our forum software upgrade, but has been corrected. Please head over to the TGO Store [link here] for anything you might need, including Benefactor memberships. As a note, we still accept credit card payments via Stripe, so you once again have two options!

  6. I tried going the wildcat route and got pretty burned. From now on, I'm sticking with the established rounds. And yes, I know the 458 is still a wildcat, but it's pretty established. Heck, CMMG is about to release the Anvil that's built around this round.

  7. If you already have a bunch of Glock 33 rounders, the Glock mag lowers make sense. If not, I like the Colt pattern mags better... ASC makes them for Colt and IWI, and they sell them themselves cheaper than any Glock mag. They're also double-feed, which can make loading faster. I built mine on a CMMG dedicated 9mm lower and it runs like a raped ape. A mag block gives you more flexibility, but is never going to be as reliable as a dedicated lower. There are a lot of cool 9mm carbine options out now, but IMHO the AR pattern is the best of the bunch, if for no other reason than the gazillion options for triggers and furniture.

  8. I've been saying for a while that all these loudmouths who say they are going to jump anyone they believe is a transgender woman going into the women's restroom are going to be in for a big surprise when that trans woman - or a woman who is mistaken as such - pulls a pistol out of her purse. As far as I am concerned, armed LGBT folks don't get bashed and armed minorities don't become genocide victims.

  9. Thanks Slappy! I thought I was in here alone on this one. Even started talking to myself, lol. I went ahead and bought it! As soon as the ATF comes through with the paperwork, I'll have it. Hopefully I'm not too old to shoot it by that time. It's a little long in it's full size configuration, but from all accounts it's quiet. Plus it was available. I think I will like the QD system.

  10. Since Vandy's a private university, it wouldn't apply anyway. Vandy could allow carry with a HCP but I wouldn't hold my breath...

  11. Yes, and a guy at the wildcat site is working on standardizing it along with getting some steel mags as well. Added a link to the post for those interested: http://mdws.forumchitchat.com/post/show_single_post?pid=1292513541&postcount=1&forum=530730 ATM I am only interested in ones that are based off the 5.56 case and barrel only swap needed. Maybe later I may dip my toe into a .308 or 6.8 AR build, but not now.

  12. Ok so I'll reply.... Rugged has some good stuff going on and that looks like a great can! Love how they put the serial number on the most durable part of the can so they can repair/upgrade later on with no issues. I've got a Rugged Obsidian on the way...next year.

  13. Use a 6.8 for the exact same thing you are doing. Tried the 300 blackout but it didn't kill the hogs as quick if they are over 175 yards . I could hear it hit them and they'd run off never to be seen again. Getting 6.8 ammo for $19-$21 for hunting rounds and the mags work great. Never tried the 6.5

  14. Amazing as always. That was my 4th class with him as I try to get down there at least once a year. I've taken all of his handgun classes and this was my first carbine class with him. It was actually a handgun/carbine combo class so working with both was a lot of fun.

  15. Haha. Naw, I'm just whipped, lol. I'd probably would get one of each, but the wife would go for my jugular lol. . I just need to give her some time to let the news of the supressor I just bought wear off. One at a time for now so I don't have to sleep outside Both eventually for sure! I like that 458 upper. That would be a nice looking big thumper.

  20. I went to the show and was pleasantly surprised. Some of the better vendors from the old location were there and prices did not seem inflated since the terrorist attack in Orlando. I didn't buy anything except a couple of knives and a holster but there were some guns there that tempted me. I'll go back in they have another show in this location. Cheers, Whisper

  21. Well, that's complicated. I mentioned that I have a D3CR so I was looking for something that was going to be compatible. I finally decided on a Mission Spec EOC. Combine that with the Rigit Kit and I was able to merge the two very nicely. For armor I went with AR500 front and back. It's only about 20 pounds total with all my mags and trauma kit so I was happy with that. I wore it for most of a carbine class with Tiger McKee until the heat forced me to go without it for the rest of the day. Overall, I'm happy with what I ended up with. It's a relatively small rig but contains enough of what I was looking for.

  22. Could be a multitude of issues. Possibility he used an oversize bore? But Zero reduction sounds weird to me. I shot my form 1 22 without the baffles in, it does a pretty good job still. I recently just finished a 9mm form 1. Also a 1.14ID. I went with 9 60 degree cones, 8 clipped. 6 are Ti and 3 7075 aluminum. Everything else except booster/piston is Ti. 25. As for those thinking about a 30-30, whaddya think about a lever 357? More capacity, and can get darn close to 30-30 power with the right 357 load. Easy to reload for, and can scrounge both 38 and 357 ammo when you come across it. Personally, I'd be picking a semi auto with capacity, most like any AR variant in 556 or 308, but I do like my Marlin 1894 in 357, too.

  27. For the most part, LGBT want the same as all people want. To be left the hell alone and to be safe. Being able to protect ones self is part of this.

  30. Call 'em back. A different CS rep may have a totally different attitude. If not, ask to speak to a supervisor. If they're still unco-operative, raise 14 kinds of hell with them. They have to hear the wheel squeaking before they'll grease it.

  31. I have a Sig P320 previously owned a P938. The P938 was just too small for my med./Lg. hands so I sold it after firing nearly 800 rounds. The only time I had a failure was with 115 grain ammo. I quickly changed to 124 gr. Speer or Federal and never had the issue re-occur. Any interaction I have had with Sig CS has been positive. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
