  1. I like AKs because of the history behind them. All of mine are builds on original kits. The design is pure genius in its simplicity. Check out this Yugo M72 RPK It has a carving from their civil war that says "with faith in god, freedom or death"

  2. If he was going to issue any more executive orders that meant anything, he would have done it by now. And even if he had anything left up his sleeve, he's also not going to do anything to steal the thunder of Hillary's campaign by making any real progress on an issue she'll campaign on.

  3. If giving up guns for protection is such a good idea, then some of these politicians need to lead by example and stop carrying guns and refuse armed bodyguards. Until that happens, I don't think there is much to debate or compromise on.

  5. Another consideration is that ballistic performance is reduced in these very short barrels. I know there is some ballistic gel testing on YouTube from shooting the bull or something like that for short barrel 9mm. Everyone comes to a point where they have to decide on the compromise of carry... Comfort, concealability, power, reliability, etc. Lots to consider here. I wouldn't hesitate to carry a 380 if that was the only alternative to nothing... buying premium ammo and esure it's reliable too. Good luck!

  6. Adult population (age 18 and up) in Tennessee is approximately 4,9 million. As of June 1, 2016, there are 560,933 HCP holders in Tennessee. https://www.tn.gov/assets/entities/safety/attachments/Current_HG_PermitHolders.pdf One in nine adults in Tennessee have HCP, yet amazingly we aren't shooting each other right and left. Tell your liberal friends.

  8. I was a little reluctant to go the AR route myself. But after shooting a few in 9, I was hooked. I love the PSA model. At roughly 1000 retail, it's not cheap, but I don't regret selling a pistol or 2 and getting one. As I've said before, the only possible drawback to them, so far, is the lack of the last round bolt hold open feature.

  9. It's political theatre by the gun grabbers to feed some red meat to their low information constituency... They well know that, given the current atmosphere, no one is gonna vote for more gun control... Everybody is armed to the teeth and edgy... No one is gonna tolerate limiting the ownership of firearms; except the usual inner city single moms who cant bring their selves to believe their darling little boys (...and some girls...) have grown into monsters who rape, shoot, pillage, and kill in the "hood"... This ain't about limiting arms to terrorists; it's about ginnin up the base... leroy

  11. Hits on target are what matters. A hit with a .22 is better than a miss with a 20mm. I carry my P3AT regularly this time of year. My wife has an LCP. We also have a Shield 9 and it's excellent, though too big to carry in my pockets. YMMV. There's plenty of test data out there to help you decide which ammo is best. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/

  12. It's difficult to find a better carry .380 than the little Keltec P3AT and its copies. Get a pocket holster and it can be with you no matter what you wear (except a Speedo :-( ).

  13. The brown Santa paid me a visit yesterday and now I have my second ar pistol completed . I already have one in 300 blk so this time I went with 50 Beowulf . I will post a pic after work today. I'm pretty excited about it so far. The upper is a radical firearms 10.5" 12.7 x42. The radical firearms website has them for $659.00 with a 8 week lead time. Primary Arms has the same exact upper for 459.00 and had it to me in 2 days. I can't wait to try this out. Does anybody else have a ar pistol in this caliber?

  14. Just found out that on July 1st Ashbrauners Loan and Pawn in Gallatin will no longer be in business and they have all of their firearms and ammo marked down to sell along with everything else. The Shooting range will also be closed to the public at that time. Sam will remain in a separate part of the building and have the range under his control for the gunsmithing employees to be able to test fire the guns they build and repair.

  16. What a great time! As a new to competition shooter I was a little nervous. Everyone there was very kind and full of pointers. Highlights for me: I dropped flashlight once during a reload and I lost a free beer to a half inch low shot. Next time im going to invest in a weapon mounted light, better holster, and mag carriers. 19. Late to the thread but you really should add some kind of thin, strong cordage/rope to the speargun and name the whole rig 'Scorpion'. You could engrave, "Get over here!" on one side and, "Scorpion Wins. Fatality!" on the other. Of course if you have never played Mortal Kombat then you will have no idea what the hell I am talking about.

  26. My employer went back to BCBS a few months ago and it jacked my rates up. I was paying $108 a month for family coverage before with UHC now $260 a month. Keeps going it will be more expensive to be a working member of society than to just get the gubment handout.

  27. I've carried an LCP and Walther PPK/S more then any other .380 ACP platforms and prefer the LCP for its smaller size and better reliability. But I'd really rather have a 9mm P that I could comfortably pocket carry, the problem is I haven't found one that fit the bill I trust yet. Old Shoot has me interested in checking out the Kimber PM9 now to see if its small enough to be an EDC pocket pistol. Bersaguy presents a good case for a .22LR pocket pistol as a secondary to a larger 380 and I'm sure it suits his needs. I'm not going to make fun of a .22LR as a defensive round because I've seen people who have been shot with different caliber pistols who either lived or died. But either way the fight pretty much stopped once they were shot.

  28. I cant for the life of me remember which upper gave me the most issue, but one it was a really, really tight fit. Maybe the CMT set? In any case once I decided I wasn't going to hurt the upper one way or another, and was resigned to replacing the sight, I muscled it on there. It was tight though, I could probably pick up the rifle by the rear sight unpinned kinda tight. Maybe try a little light lube? Or 2-3 beers and a small triangle file.

  31. I'm a 9 man when it comes to small guns. Spending a lot more money on much weaker ammo (380) never appealed to me. The only 380 that makes sense to me is the the KelTec or similar size supermicro pistols. When it comes to the larger 380s, I just don't see why a person wouldn't finish the leap and get a Shield/43/XDS, etc. :/ (Full disclosure, I carry a Shield 9) I would say 938, if it weren't for all the bad reports as of late.

  33. The difference in power between the two is significant. If you want minimum penetration as specified by the FBI, it ain't gonna happen with a .380. I carry .380 some, though. Just depends on what I'm wearing and where I'm going.

  34. Wow, that's a bunch of ..... AR propaganda.[emoji6] AR's are like trophy wives. The best they look is when they aren't yours. Expensive to maintain. Require immediate and constant upgrades and accessories. Need constant attention (maintenance) or they get whiny. The older they get the worse they look. AK's are the girl next door. They get better looking with age, don't complain, and always get the job done. Here's my go to! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

  35. I got mine for Christmas. It's a 9mm. Shot too high and Springfield sent me a shorter rear sight. Mine came with the dual recoil assembly. I changed that out with an EGW kit.

  36. Not only have I not experienced any issues with the automatch, it is my .22LR of choice. I think they shoot very accurately and can count the problem rounds on both hands and feet, not bad considering the thousands of them I've sent downrange. I don't have any Smith rimfires though, that would be hugely disappointing for me to hear that if I did. I still wouldn't send them back, just use them in the Rugers.

  37. I don't mind the politics, as long as it's related to 2A, weapons, CCW, or SD issues etc, it belongs here. The problem is that some don't know how to keep it from getting personal, I'm sure it keeps moderators busy. As this is a post about traffic, I'm not sure there is a correlation with these topics and less (or more) traffic. You can always choose what topics to look at or respond to, but I do feel some just make it too personal; it's just not that serious.

  40. This isn't a one side or the other poll, the questions were inside the national Quinnipiac poll that addressed a whole bunch of issues. They're a neutral arbiter in these things. Sampling is always the best you can get, and I think they made a good effort to get a wide cross section of opinion when they took this poll (it was from 2014). From June 24 - 30, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,446 registered voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 2.6 percentage points. Live interviewers call land lines and cell phones. The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts public opinion surveys in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and the nation as a public service and for research. And if you look at the questions, the 90% figure is for background checks for all purchases, which a lot of people don't see as "gun control regulation," myself included to give you someone you know (well, internet know anyway) who supports it. The "stricter gun control" question was split 50/47/3 which is a tie with the margin of error included. This poll wasn't manipulated, it's the reporting on it that is questionable...ie: the media doesn't go in depth about the split on "stricter gun control."

  41. about 2 yrs ago I acquired most of a Springfield Loaded in a box of parts. Leastways I know the barrel, slide and frame where a Loaded. So I put the frame together to accommodate my Nelson .22 1911 conversion. The frame has a 2.75lb trigger that works great with the .22LR conversion. I pulled out the bag of .45 slide parts the other day and discovered I was missing some stuff to make this a fully functional 1911 in .45ACP. It also came with a SA one-piece guide rod - which I hate. So got a new extractor, slide release/lock lever, and all the other slide parts except barrel and sights from MIdway. Converted it to GI recoil system. So here it is, nothing sexy or special, just works now with either .45acp or .22lr. Night sights too on the .45acp upper! .45acp upper .22LR upper

  43. Grandfathers Don't Always Know Everything... Hunter was 4 years old and was staying with his grandfather for a few days. He'd been playing outside with the other kids, when he came into the house and asked, "Grandpa, what's that called when two people sleep in the same bedroom and one is on top of the other?" His Grandpa was a little taken aback, but he decided to tell him the truth. "Well, Hunter, it's called sexual intercourse." "Oh," Little Hunter said, "OK," and went back outside to play with the other kids. A few minutes later he came back in and said angrily, "Grandpa, it isn't called sexual intercourse." "It's called Bunk Beds. And Jimmy's mom wants to talk to you."

  44. I doubt a gunsmith would fix his gun for free. :/ The one time I needed Smith to replace a firing pin on an 18 year old revolver I got 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th, or 5th, or...) hand they paid shipping both ways and I had it back in under two weeks. I called in a couple months ago because my first M&P (now almost 5 years old with thousands of rounds through it) had a recoil spring that was getting tired, and it wasn't always chambering the first round when dropping the slide on a fresh mag. While talking to the rep I told him about the other M&Ps I had, etc. I ended up getting 4 recoil springs and 2 mags springs sent to me for free. Very happy with every interaction with them. Sorry you've experienced differently with Sig. Have you tried just calling back and talking to a different rep?

  45. Was in Everything Weapons this past week picking up a special order and saw the new 'urban grey' suppressor ready series that CZ has come out with. I held three of them and lo and behold a CZ 75 P-01 with the omega trigger jumped in my truck. Really like the trigger. Ran it through it's paces today in the woods shooting steel at about 20 yards. Ran and shot great. Was hitting very consistently both suppressed and straight up. Really sweet little gun. Love the color and how it fits my hand.
