I just fired up my old school BBQ pit that I built a few years ago from scratch. I got two pork shoulders cooking right now . LOW AND SLOW at 220 degrees. Here are some pics of my burn barrel that I burn my wood in and then the pit .3 points

If you don't have HCI, don't over pay on your taxes because the only means they have to collect is through over paid tax returns. Plus, our state legislature passed the TN Healthcare Freedom Act which exempts us from the Affordable Healthcare Act if we choose not to participate. Just don't do your taxes at a place like H&R Block because when I presented the law, the lady ignored it and keyed in a fine anyway. Needless to say, I won't be going back. https://votesmart.org/bill/12874/33891/tennessee-health-care-freedom-act#.V11WA4CDmK03 points

It might be because I walk in there and look at most of them and wonder who ties their shoelaces for them.2 points

Always wanted to get into smoking meat. Nice looking pit. I grilled some today and fried chicken in lard & a cast iron skillet over a gas flame like grandma used to. The electric stove in the house sucks for that. Thank goodness my grill has a nice eye on the side. Lard rules. Makes good biscuits too. Chicken, biscuits and Miller. Every day should be Sunday.2 points

Was in Everything Weapons this past week picking up a special order and saw the new 'urban grey' suppressor ready series that CZ has come out with. I held three of them and lo and behold a CZ 75 P-01 with the omega trigger jumped in my truck. Really like the trigger. Ran it through it's paces today in the woods shooting steel at about 20 yards. Ran and shot great. Was hitting very consistently both suppressed and straight up. Really sweet little gun. Love the color and how it fits my hand.2 points

about 2 yrs ago I acquired most of a Springfield Loaded in a box of parts. Leastways I know the barrel, slide and frame where a Loaded. So I put the frame together to accommodate my Nelson .22 1911 conversion. The frame has a 2.75lb trigger that works great with the .22LR conversion. I pulled out the bag of .45 slide parts the other day and discovered I was missing some stuff to make this a fully functional 1911 in .45ACP. It also came with a SA one-piece guide rod - which I hate. So got a new extractor, slide release/lock lever, and all the other slide parts except barrel and sights from MIdway. Converted it to GI recoil system. So here it is, nothing sexy or special, just works now with either .45acp or .22lr. Night sights too on the .45acp upper! .45acp upper .22LR upper1 point

Makes for a nice, compact package. I think this will fit in the bike saddlebag now.1 point

when dropped by BCBS due to obamacare and then discovering a comparable exchange policy was going to be $1400/month for my family I choose to enroll in Medishare a Christian medical sharing coop. My "premium" is less than I was paying, and could be even less if I wanted a higher deductible, and since the program has been in place for sometime prior to obammy care it has been grandfathered in and I am exempt from the tax penalty. There's more than one way to skin a cat.1 point

Hey-I have used several brand name primers in small pistol.First off the bat-match primers are usually used in rifle cartridges for a more stable ignition to boost long distance shooting accuracy-pistols they are unneeded.Second-Magnum primers are usually used in pistols with a fairly large powder charge-more for a hotter ignition-in fact in a small charge case like 9mm they may create a over-pressure problem when getting close to max loading.I have used CCI,Remington,Winchester all with good success.Sometimes a no ignition problem can stem from the primers not being seated fully so the anvil is compressed.Make sure your primer pockets are all clean and the primer is fully seated.Of coarse there is always a possibility of a batch of faulty primers but highly unlikely.I hope this helps.1 point

Thanks Prag, I kinda figured it would be dead (rarely see more than 1 car there when I go on weekends), but wanted to see if there were any drills appropriate for the longer distance. I'll give that link a look, thanks again!1 point

You're kind. My kids are younger than yours, so I expect my gray hasn't had quite the same time to show through. I got married when I was almost 30. While I wouldn't trade it, I really respect my friends who got married and had kids younger. I was more financially secure when I got married and we had kids, but it's neat to see some of my friends from school who have kids going to college in the fall.1 point

I can honestly say the car buying experience is the main reason why I've kept my beat up 2002 Ford Ranger for so long, despite having the ability to buy a new, or better used vehicle. It's just not worth dealing with the salesman and the industry practices as a whole to me.1 point

PPK's and all the knock-offs are usually very accurate but the PPK is known for slide bite. Is that what you got or something else?1 point

http://www.autoblog.com/2016/06/08/chevy-silverado-ford-f-150-rocks-video/?icid=autoblog|trend|chevy-drops-blocks-on-ford Interestingly enough Chevrolet is anticipated to be shifting towards the use of aluminum in its truck bodies with its next generation Silverado. I wonder if they go with an aluminum bed?1 point

Judging from the maps it looks like the bobcat also hates liberals. It looks like bobcats are avoiding liberal strongholds as well.1 point

Do trucks even come without bed liners anymore? I mean, what do you expect if you drop a bunch of blocks from 6 feet?1 point

For the novice out there who may not know; You should understand the difference between 'leading' and 'antimony wash'. Antimony wash is a silvery grey color left in the barrel. It does NOT affect accuracy and does NOT affect safety. It's merely a color left behind. Leading looks like a smeared build up and the difference should be immediately apparent. Leading, when looking down the bore, just looks like it don't belong in there. Antimony wash isn't necessarily visible from certain light angles. SO, just cause you see a little silver color left behind, don't git yer panties in a wad. Learn to tell the difference.1 point

If the locals won't play ball, fly-n-buy, and enjoy the road trip home. I have zero patience with car dealers. With so many to choose from, there's no reason to cut them any slack. They're kinda like lawyers... 99% of them give the rest a bad name.1 point
