A Wave Of The Future A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits the Middle East. Two million Muslims die and over a million are injured. Iraq, Iran and Syria are totally ruined and the governments don't know where to start with providing help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock. Britain is sending troops to help keep the peace. Saudi Arabia is sending oil & monetary assistance. Latin American countries are sending clothing. New Zealand and Australia are sending sheep, cattle and food crops. The Asian countries are sending labor to assist in rebuilding the infrastructure. Canada is sending medical teams and supplies. President Donald Trump, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Muslims. God Bless President Trump.6 points

We have lived next to the Cherokee National Park Bear reserve for 11 months now and just saw our first bear today, just before lunch. It apparently was checking out the flower bed on the end of the house, when my wife came home and spooked it. I was sitting in the living room and heard the driveway alarm but before my wife could get the rest of the way up the drive I heard something big coming on the front deck. I look up to see a black blur go buy the front windows. I look out the bedroom window to see a bear sitting on the far end of the porch. I go out the back door and told my wife to stay in the car and went back in and grabbed my camera to take some shots out the window. About that time I heard it go over the porch railing and down probably 12-14 feet. I went out on the deck and got a couple of pictures. Then remembered I had moved the trail cam to the side of the house the day before because something was digging in the flower bed (turned out to be a raccoon). So I pulled the card and this was one of the better pictures I got. Not a huge bear, probably around 100lbs.3 points

You can get 1 radio and multiple 'bases'. They usually re-transmit on an FM frequency, so you tune your car/tractor radio to an un-used FM freq., then set your Sirius to re-broadcast @ that freq. I had it in my 2 cars and home-system for several years like that, worked fine. I had 1 base in my car, one in the wife's, and one for my garage, but only had 1 unit/device and subscription. - K2 points

You caught me. I was carrying two, because my usual rig was a bit much for the summer heat. This is Vera. She's my most favorite gun.2 points

There's something special about a gun that has the power of the 41 Mag... and 250% more ammo on board. ;-)2 points

I had some free time tonight so I decided to do a drawing of my recent AK build. Started out to do a more technical drawing but got part way through and said screw it, so I ended up with this. It's hard to tell from the photo but it's actual size of an ak.1 point

Yeah I probably won't buy anything that could easily be found here. Just an oddball if there is such a thing. We've been before but I never really shopped for booze. We'll be on a cruise so only on land for the day.1 point

Oh, I'll be carrying my .308 too. This is for an elk hunt backup. Just in case. I'm not concerned in the least about walking up on a bear, I'm more concerned about a bear walking up on me if I happen to find myself elbows deep in elk innards!1 point

As a company we try to have a good working environment for our employees. We work them pretty hard so we like to have fun stuff they can do also. Several employees had been asking if we could get a virtual reality system. Not only are they cool but we can see some of this technology being used in some of our work down the road. So we went ahead and built a gaming machine and bought the HTC VIVE VR system. https://www.htcvive.com/us/ I do not know a lot about it but everybody is having a blast so far playing with it. I recorded one of our employees playing a game. You can see on the monitor what he is seeing in the headset. There are two cameras mounted on the wall that was used to map the room. The mapped room is used by the system to know where to put walls so you do not walk into anything. It is a pretty cool system. I have not tried it out yet but will soon. Here is the video of one our employees playing a game.1 point

The RTIC's are just getting out there, but I am confident they will be just a good as the Yeti. I have also heard the Ozark brand has excellent reviews and they are cheap. There are just too many comparable competitors now to pay the price for a Yeti IMO. I will probably buy an RTIC based on my experience with my two 30oz tumblers.1 point

We have that problem in Memphis so we are already used to terrible voters. The other problem with cali is tourism.1 point

I don't agree. Also, left out of your lying to LEO example is that it's legal, and accepted practice for them to lie to suspects, which is questionable at best. So all around, lying is widely protected legally, with specific circumstances that are debatable. I think that's a good thing for better or worse when you think of how creating a law that would make lying open to prosecution could be abused by those "interpreting" speech. That's not something I want on the table with the direction we're headed politically.1 point

I hope he does great. I have great respect for you both on how you take care of your animals. I wish there were more out there like you. Best of luck in his recovery.1 point

Well, we had an eventful weekend. We planned to buy a car for Monkey's mom this weekend. Saturday we went to the vet with our Labaweiner Max to get his blood checked (he's 12 and has an auto immune disease). Jack, the little foster was ill for the past two weeks and antibiotics weren't helping. They took X-rays and come to find out, the little guy had a major issue with his small intestine. It was causing a blockage by obstucting itself. 1 surgery and 3 days later we have a recovering pup and no car. LOL His chances were not the best but we went for it. I'm glad we did. A couple thousand later and he's sassy and rambunctious as ever! The every 2 hour feedings is the hard part. 7 days to go, wish us luck!1 point

When I began bass fishing seriously and competing all we had was topo maps of the lakes. Then came the Lowrance and Hummingbirds soon followed by Garmin. I fished tournaments from 1980 till 2010 with a lot of success winning quit a few tournaments at the Semi-Pro level. I still have a Skeeter Bass Boat but son in law uses it more than I do these days. The units I have on it are an Eagle 320 in dash and on the front and a Garmin GPS beside console. Son In Law asked me the other day if I would mind him upgrading the electronics on it. He is talking about spending over $4,000.00 on the things. He told me he would like to have some side views and all that high end stuff. I ask him if he was having issues catching fish and competing and he said not at all. He has won about 7 or 8 weekend club tournaments already this Spring. He said he would like to see the fish that are around the boat. I said seeing them and catching them are 2 different things but he was not happy so I told him to do what he wanted up front and in dash but the Garmin GPS stays for when I use the Skeeter. I won't even turn those fancy things on but I do have waypoints on that Garmin for both the local lakes I fish and I will use those to fish by. I guess I just live with the thought of "if it ain't broke don't fix it."1 point

This is 5/32" thick 1095 carbon steel double acid etched has black walnut scales, brass mosaic pin and lanyard hole, thumb jimping and file work on the spine. It comes with a kydex sheath and TekLok. OAL is 10" and the blade is about 5 3/8". And this one. It's also made of the same steel and thickness. OAL is 12" with a blade of 6 1/2". It's also double acid etched and has thumb jimping and file work on the spine. It has burmese blackwood scales with SS mosaic pins and also has a lanyard hole.1 point

Look at the Humminbird Helix, 5/7/9 if you are just wanting 2d, you can get 2d/DI/GPS is desired, but the cost goes up. To be able to see your jig or bait on the screen and it's movement, along with a fish moving towards it you will need to adjust the sensitivity (increase) while out on the water. You may have to adjust it everytime depending on water conditions. You will only be able to see this situation when drop shoting/jigging in a stationary position. The larger the screen the better the resolution and the ability to see what is on the screen, especially in DS/SI. 2d, not so much. You tube has tons of videos on how to use 'em and set 'em up for different types of fishing.1 point

The boat I chartered for a deep sea fishing trip had a nice one, I forget the brand, but I could see my bait in the water. I think they cost about 5 grand. A little too rich for my blood! Especially considering I'd be mounting it on a 2 grand boat. Furuno maybe?1 point

AMC has a real opportunity here. Leave Nick, Travis and Chis behind. Introduce some new and interesting characters, then kill off the rest of the losers. They can pretty much start over with a whole new cast while keeping the original story line. Of course, they ain't that smart.. So we'll just get more . Season three may be ordered, but I have doubts that it'll happen without some major turn in the second half of this one.1 point

Those shims work, but I don't like them. They can slip off the terminal as well. In cases like this, I would (and have) spent a few bucks and 15 minutes to buy a nice set of heavy duty and properly fitting terminals and just swap them out.1 point

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's another thread devoted to bagging on Memphis. We're a Delta city with a completely different history and culture than the rest of y'all and y'all don't like or understand us. That's cool. The feeling's mutual.1 point

There is the Dan Wesson that makes a 10mm, and there is a Colt Delta Elite 1911 in 10mm. Why not carry a Glock 29, small and you don't always have to load the mag to the max if its too heavy ;)1 point

Why not just respect their wishes even if it isn't properly posted? It is their property and they make the choice in what and how you can or cannot carry or come on their property. If they say you must wear a pink tutu and use Nerf guns for self defense to enter then that is what you must do. If you refuse to do that and refuse to leave when asked, regardless of the reason, you are in violation of the trespassing law. There is nothing worse for us than being caught breaking the rules. And honestly why would you want to support a business that doesn't allow you to carry. People talk about principles but push them by the wayside when it becomes a minor inconvince. As much as it has upset those with me I very, very rarely enter a business that is posted.1 point

I just don't see that happening... mostly because it hasn't ever happened. Secondly, unless there is an officer on scene you won't be charged. Thirdly, if an officer was on scene it will probably go like this: Officer: "Did you not see the sign when you came in here carrying?" You: "No officer, it was out of the way and not clearly posted. Had I seen it I would have turned around and taken my business somewhere else." Officer: "Okay, well you can't carry in here so you need to stow it out in your car or leave." You: "Yes Sir, have a nice day." Officer: "You too; nice pistol by the way. I've been looking to pick one up like that." You: "Well check out TGO. I saw one for sale there the other day for a good price." Officer: "Will do." I don't even bother looking that hard when going into these businesses that have no less than 30 signs and announcements posted on their entry doors. Next time you go to a gas station just count how many signs they have on the doors as you enter. Should you really be expected to read and understand the equivalent of 20 pages of text when entering a business? If it isn't immediately noticable I ain't gonna notice it. When one of you can cite a case of a HCP holder getting busted for carrying past a sign that isn't clearly posted then maybe I'll look a little harder. Otherwise, I see it as a non-issue.1 point
