  1. At my house. No pics or anything. Nothing really special or exotic. Just bragging on the fact that for the first time I got to do some shooting in my own backyard. You can't wipe the grin off my face right now.

  4. Yeah, I'm jealous, the neighbor came over the other day, raising hell, because my son was shooting Coke cans with his pellet gun. The "bullets" we're hitting the side of his house according to him. He only shut up when I showed him my son was shooting in the opposite direction of his house. I asked him not to ever come back again....

  5.   If my neighbor did that and if I didn't live in the city limits I would tell him sorry, i'll tell my son not to fire his "bullet" air gun anymore. Then after he went back into his house I would bump fire a 30 round mag from my MAK 90 into a tree.  :) NAA, I would just laugh at him and tell him to get a life but it's a fun thought anyway.   I got this thing about de-pressurizing old aerosol cans with my Crossman pump with the $10 Tasco scope. "WARNING" Do not shoot one of those "Foam A Fill" cans too close to the house, it makes your siding look like it has pimples.

  8. Code of conduct post is where IDPA stepped in, they issued a email out to all of its members almost a year ago. It truly is sad that it's came to this but the actions of his past and present have caught up with him. Bridges have been burned, toes have been stomped and friendships have been destroyed over the issues of the past few years. Now it's time to put the past behind us and move forward.

  10. You ARE responsible for a bullet up to and including the time it stops moving.     OBVIOUSLY this guy was reckless, careless and plain stupid for not having a sufficient backstop and/or skill to hit it.  Hang him out to dry for his stupidity.

  11. Just finished putting 100 rounds threw the pistol and I really like it. I shot a mix of Winchester white box, pmc, Corbon. Mostly 115-124 fmj but some 100 grain power ball thrown in. Function was 100 percent right out of the box . No lube other that what came from the factory. Ejection was pretty consistent . The only time it didn't land in the big pile in the bed of my Silverado it was so to a weaker round that you could hear a difference in. Accuracy is more than adequate. I don't shoot handguns nearly as much as I should lately but I will still able to get 17 round groups that were palm sized or smaller. Recoil wasn't any worse than any other full size polymer gun that I shoot. The trigger was consistent and broke cleanly . On a side note, 18 rounds will easily fit into the 17 round mags. I didn't shoot it like this but did accidentally put 18 in one without much effort. Over all very impressed so far and would recommend this pistol to anyone in the market for a high capacity polymer 9mm.

  15. Everybody who shoots or is thinking of shooting IDPA should be aware of this. It was shared on the Tennessee competitive Shooting Facebook page . Letter from MS/TN Area Coordinator: Hello IDPA Clubs and IDPA members in MS & TN: I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you whom I have not made contact with as yet. My name is Nicky Carter, I am the Area Coordinator for the states of Mississippi and Tennessee. I reside in Northeast Mississippi, have been an IDPA member since 2007, my family and I own & operate Ridge Crossing Shooting Club. As Area Coordinator I want to have an active relationship with each club and be available to all MS and TN IDPA members. My contact information will be listed at the end of this letter, I am writing to each club contact and ask that you share this with all your club members. The most immediate information I have to share with all of you concerns a former IDPA member who is permanently banned from IDPA. Michael Bresson from the Nashville area has been put on notice as being permanently banned from IDPA membership and event participation. Any club allowing him to participate in or run any IDPA event will lose their club affiliation and club contacts will lose their IDPA membership. This is effective immediately. I want to be available to all members in my area of responsibility and help with any matters of concern in regards to IDPA. Please feel free to contact me via phone call, text, or email. I look forward to hearing from you. Nicky Carter MS/TN Area Coordinator Safety Officer Instructor A27655

  16. Hello Fellow TGO: On Mother’s Day weekend, my two boys and I took the Tactical Carbine 2 class with Gilbert Perez at Patriot Shooting Academy in Dandridge, Tenn. I believe in the 2nd Amendment and if you have a weapon, I believe that it’s essential that one knows how to use it safely and effectively.  Because the boys and I have had less trigger time with the long gun (vs pistol), we wanted to get better and know that getting training from a known expert is the way to go. After all, didn’t Luke Skywalker need Yoda?   It was an awesome day. Gilbert is an expert shooting teacher, and with his watchful eye, he improved our competency by correcting our errors and showing us how to improve – shoot faster, shoot more accurately, how to transition to multiple targets, shooting on the move, how to use your sights, how to go down quickly, how to shoot more steadily, changing from rifle to pistol – What an awesome day of fun! Who needs Dollywood?!?   It was a tiring day -- even my boys were tired and they are in terrific shape.  Bring plenty of water. Bring knee pads, gloves, hat, and ammo. The only break we had was lunch. BTW, bring your food, to save time and convenience. Also, I must add that both of his Tactical Carbine courses (1 &2) are very affordable and worthwhile.  You will also leave with a better idea on how to practice at home. I really love the rifle. It’s an awesome tool. Best of all, however, after the “Tactical Carbine 2” training class, if there are zombies, I know that my boys’ mother will be well protected.  Happy Mother’s Day!   Also, just to be clear, I have no financial interest in Patriot Shooting Academy.

  22. It's a beautiful thing! Congrats! I was like a teenager when we got our place. Laughing out loud when I was shooting the 1911 by the barn after cutting grass. Shooting the 22 pistol as I passed by some targets while cutting grass and so on. It is absolutely awesome to shoot at the house. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

  23. Shooting on my own property was near the top of our list of wants when we were looking for our current place. Shooting off my back deck is very nice indeed. I can only get out to about 25 yards this time of year because of undergrowth I can't really remove. 40-50 yards is possible during the Winter. Now I'm thinking of where I can set up to shoot clays  :D

Here's a sneak peak at the new forum layout.  This picture is pretty darn big, so you would be best served right-clicking on the link and choosing the option to open it in a new window.   Ignore the repetitious arrows that you see at various places to the left and right in the picture. Those are artifacts from the scrolling screen-shot that I took in order to make that photo for you.   https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-snRvHSN/0/O/i-snRvHSN.jpg

  35. I’m restoring a 1976 KZ900 I owned many years ago and just got back. Only one place had the original Diamond Brown, I really don’t like that color and it became a hassle to get everything I need. So I am painting it black. (Hopefully high gloss Black) I have never painted anything in my life (other than using rattle cans) so it’s an experience. Paint costs a lot more than I thought it would.

  40. Well, being an old retired Certified Mechanic I don't recall not opening the hood first thing on any car or truck I was going to work on unless I was plugging a flat tire on the car. Even on an oil change first thing done was rasie the hood period. As for these new fancy Technigological pieces of junk being built today they call cars are killing and maming people just driving down the road with air bags exploding, ignition switches just shutting off and computera taking over the car and not allowing drivers to slow down as the car continues to gain speed and brakes failing to help.  My son was working on one of the pieces of junk a few years back because he is also a certified mechanic when the computer took over and car began to pick up speed. All he did was put the car in neutral and pull hard on emergency brake to stop the vehicle as the motor reveved up till it blew up because the rev limiter in the computer failed because the computer had failed. The average drivers don't know to take it out of gear and pull the cable driven emergency brake. Toyota had to pick up the car from his shop and take it to a dealer that had to fixed the entire car including a new engine.  Shortly there after that model and several others went on manditory re call.    I will continue to own old cars until I am having dirt shoveled in my face with a marble stone for a pillow. I drive a 1997 Jeep Cherokee and that will be the newest vehicle I will ever own.....................jmho

  41. While you are betting that common sense would prevail I'm not sure it would. If there was a healthy dose of common sense left in this country Obama would have never been elected to a second term....The Hildabeast would be in prison instead of running for president, illegals wouldn't have more rights than citizens and on and on and on.

  43. While searching for a 3" model 60 in pawn shops, I was given an opportunity to buy a beautiful 3" k frame from a manager at a pawn shop that I have known a few years. It was not what I was looking for but I knew I would never find another as beautiful as this 1989 model 65. I had a rough old police trade in model 65 last year that I had actually experienced regrets on selling. When I bought this a few months ago it made me feel better.

  44. You can't shoot someone for property theft.  The appropriate word for that action is murder.   Pulling a weapon if you don't feel that your life is in danger is a bad, bad idea.

  47. I decided I needed a new home defense gun. I wanted something easily maneuverable, good capacity and decent power. I ended up getting a FNH FNX-45. My future plans are Talon grips (fancy rubberized tape) and a Streamlight TLR-2G. It's a big gun, but fits comfortably in my hands.

  48. Seems to me this whole thing could have avoided with a simple "NA has chose to change match management and we are happy to be helping them. There are no hard feelings on either side".     As for the whole your not a MCTS member and therefore don't count aspect, the people who regularly shoot the matches wherever the venue is certainly have a right to know what is going on with the venue especially a change in Match Direction. There no better way to stunt the growth of a venue/club/range than to make the people who travel to come out and shoot your matches every month, who aren't members of the host club feel like they aren't respected and not appreciated and that you just want their $10 or $15 a month.    I shoot IDPA at 2 clubs of which I am a member of neither. I don't feel entitled to know the inter-workings and decisions of the host club but I damn well do feel entitled to a polite and straight answer on issues that concern the IDPA Action Pistol of the club because I support them with my time, work and money. IDPA is a volunteer driven sport and a good attitude goes a long way.
