On 4/27/16 the Senate (SB 1736) and House (HB 29033) Bills were signed by the Governor making places not required by law to be posted liable for injuries to hand gun permit owners if injured because they could not defend themselves due to their posting of no guns allowed. Need to get the word out to posted places that they are now liable. Maybe some of these businesses will now think twice about this9 points

Picked up several guns in an estate sale. There was a couple of oddballs in the bunch. Not really oddballs but guns you do not see very often. This is an early 50's Great Western Frontier single action in .357 Atomic. The .357 Atomic is basically a .357 mag +p. It uses the same case but is loaded a little hotter. For a brief time it was touted as the most powerful handgun cartridge. The .44 mag was created before atomic ammo went into production. In mid 1954 Great Western changed the roll mark to .357 magnum and that was the end of the .357 Atomic. The company sent me some renderings of what the finished product will look like. I took it a step further and did my own rendering in Photoshop to convey that "negative space" in the design will be stainless steel showing through. The black areas are laser engravings, permanently etched into the tumbler in black. This is just the RTIC tumbler but I have both this and the ORCA in 30oz sizes coming to me so that I can take photos and post for you all to see and then begin ordering.7 points

Here is a rifle you do not see everyday...A Ruger #3 Carbine in .30-40 Krag. This was another one of the guns I picked up in the estate sale. It also came with a letter from Ruger. This would make a great little deer gun. That is not the bill that went into effect. This is what was passed: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/109/Amend/SA0692.pdf http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1736 In other words don't anyone get too excited.3 points

DOLOMITE SUPAFLY is a stand up guy who helps many people and speaks the truth. If you are gonna troll at least get his name right. I think it's funny that you are the only person that I have ever heard say anything good about Brad or his company, and your only 2 posts are both in this thread defending him. Somehow I don't think that is by accident. Maybe you are Brad?3 points

Meh, smack some super glue on it and chug a beer. You'll be fine in the morning. You're a tough guy ;)2 points

I wish they would just drop the penalty for carrying past a sign. That was one of the perks about living in FL. They could only ask you to leave and if you refused then you could be arrested. I used to carry at the movie theater all the time even though it was posted.2 points

Nope. Nope, you didn't get what you wanted. Nope. Didn't anyone read Garufa's post, and look at what actually passed? It doesn't copy/paste nicely for me, and I don't have time to clean it up afterward, but again, THIS is what the guv signed: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/109/Amend/SA0692.pdf - OS2 points

I have actually said - in all seriousness - that although I wasn't very enthusiastic about him when he first announced he would run the more such groups and individuals hate him the more I become convinced that he is the right choice for POTUS after all.2 points

The AL State match was tough as always. Lots of movers. It was great hanging out with the boys in blue. My goal was to try and beat King, but he was on FIRE! Great shooting my friend. A well deserved bump.2 points

It was a really fun match today. My day sucked but Kennerh did great getting the bump to CDP EX. King shot lights out and got the bump to CDP MA. It was good to see all the TN shooters there.2 points

I'm a pretty big motherfucker and have a gun! I'm pretty sure the rest will take care of itself! :D (j/k) LOL! Like many, I consider myself fairly well rounded in many aspects, but am always learning. One skill I've developed that has served me well, and I'm certain will continue to (whatever may come) is tenacity! - K1 point

That's more than what I can glean from it, as it's about as clear as mud. How is the common/reasonable man to follow the law when he can't even interpret what it says without a fricken law degree.1 point

TY, it sucked letting the thing sit for 4-5 months. Was nice to actually be able to shoot, always wanted one since I was a kid - although it's not a high-end HK with a fun button, it's as close to the dream gun that I could afford.... and I'm good with that! Not sure if the mp5 would classify as most people's dream gun, but ever since rainbow six came out back in the day, I've wanted one. Now if we could just figure out how to make a bunch of money and buy that dream car lol.1 point

Specifically Sen. Brian Kelsey and House Member Jon Lundberg, (currently running to fill Ron Ramsey's open seat in the Senate. Lundberg as a member of the House civil Justice sub committee killed more good gun bills with the assistance of Jim coley and Mike Carter than any other individuals in the General Assembly).1 point

Present law in 39-17-1359 (c) (1) It is an offense to possess a weapon in a building or on property that is properly posted in accordance with this section. (2) Possession of a weapon on posted property in violation of this section is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by fine only of five hundred dollars ($500). Easy Fix (c)(1) It is not a criminal offense to possess a weapon in a building or on property that is posted in accordance with this section, but may subject the person to denial to the building or property or removal from the building or property. I can't believe that with so many politicians asleep at the wheel that the NRA can't get this one fixed for us with a quick 1-2 sentence revision after the NRA wasted time on the no gun sign law with this bill and another bill this year. You could fix the school gun law by adding the same sentence for people with permits and pacify the schools with giving them the ability to ask folks to leave with no criminal charges, but again I guess that is too difficult.1 point

Those classes are to inform the people; the classes are not bound by the letter of the law. Laws generally let you know what you can’t do; not what’s a good idea to do. I am fully aware (as are most here) that I’m not required to hand over my HCP; just like I’m not required to roll down my widows and turn on my dome light at night. I do those things for several reasons; I respect cops, I have been in their shoes, and by showing them that courtesy I reduce the chances of me getting a ticket. Nothing wrong with teaching that in a class.1 point

It's a good thing for all of us. Summer is here and we all have so much going on that this will give folks the time to enjoy other things as well. We will still be running 4 matches a month, just split 2 and 2 now.1 point

Unless you need the cash or the space, I'd keep it. It will only continue to go up in value over the long run, and while your GSSF cert will let you get a G19, it won't let you get a Gen2 G19. That's just me, but I rarely sell any guns and then only when they're a commodity item like a current production Glock. I've sold a few older ones for various reasons and wish I hadn't, if only for the fact that they're now worth substantially more than for what I sold them. I won't do that again unless I have to.1 point

Its a wonder the 1911 has survived all these years with that complex thumb safety.1 point
-
It depends on how many survivors there are and how much food there is to go around. Also I suspect that the Government (not just the Military) would quickly declare Marshall Law and try their best to lock down the country, using the Military and Federal, State and Local LE. I think that's a given in just about any scenario.1 point

Well, I guess I'm stuck with dashing good looks and Einsteinian intelligence.1 point

Just an update, folks... I have just placed an order for both one ORCA and one RTIC tumbler, both in 30oz size, both with the TGO "icon" (tri bullet hole) laser engraved in black on them. I hope to have them back in a week so that I can take pictures and post up for your feedback. Sadly this has taken a backseat to some other things going on but I definitely still want to make it happen. Sorry for the delay!1 point

That is why I gave away 300 Blackout magazine bands. I knew a 300 could be fired in a 5.56 so I quite taking both to the range at the same time.1 point

In the event you aren't aware, not all film is created equal. There's tint for those who just want darker windows, then there's film that offers heat rejection, blocks more UV rays, never turns purple, etc. When you call around, don't be surprised if most quote you a price for their least expensive film, just to get you in the door. If cost is an issue, decide which level of film you want, then get quotes.1 point

They are top notch, they did my Raptor and the Shelby I traded the truck in for, it is the best tint job I could have hoped for1 point

I'm not stuck on the idea of a bdc reticle. I've never even used one. I have used a mil dot in a 10x leupold. I do want a ring or horse shoe reticle for use at 1x. My ideal scope would be 1-8x first focal plain with a mil dot and a 30moa ring for close work. I've never seen such a thing but there is hope if I had a bigger budget. Thanks for the comments on the Vortex. Hopefully someone has feedback on the PA scope as well. I've never owned either brand so any real world feedback is appreciated.1 point

Agreed. Reminds me of the current political hot-potato surrounding the bathroom debate. To hell w/ the millions of normal people, we need to infringe on their privacy so that 0.3% of the country's population isn't potentially offended. (Yes, it is THAT small a percentage, I looked it up). - K1 point

This seems to business as usual in the Internet age. I do a whole lot of banking, shopping, bill paying, ect. online, and I've received free one or two year credit monitoring from 3 or 4 companies that have had their systems compromised. I was pretty upset with the first two, but now I almost don't care. Hackers will always be one or ten steps ahead, and that's a fact I've come to accept.1 point
