  1. I won't be falling for the banana in the tailpipe trick again. Every election cycle the gun lobby starts getting everyone worked up for an event that never happens. These scare tactics only benefit the lobbyist and the gun industry while significantly lightning my bank account.

  3. Interesting experiment. I misappropriated 6 of my wife's thick rubbery hair bands. The barrel is 28.5" Urban Rifle Supply in a Ruger 1022 receiver, Kidd bolt, Boyds stock with Rimfire Technologies bedding system, Japan vintage Tasco 8.5-32-44 AO Target Dot, DNZ one-piece scope rings, trigger by Plinker4life. Barrels, regardless of how thick, oscillate 360 degrees when the bullet is fired through it. By moving the rubber bands over the length of the barrel changes can be made in the oscillation - that is theory. I wonder if it would improve centerfire benchrest rifles? I've used rubber o-rings and rubber castration rings, but these hair bands seem to work more dramatically. I was shooting some slightly larger than one hole groups with the bands as you see them, I moved 2 up within 1" of the end of the barrel and the groups was still tight but lower. The barrel is supported in front of the receiver and has a closed cell foam barrel pressure pad 1" behind the end of the stock.

  9. I want to thank you guys again for all the prayers. My son survived an episode where he stopped breathing and with me trying to help him, he lost all signs of a pulse and stopped breathing at all. He was completely limp, turning blue with no signs of life. I performed CPR for around 15 minutes while talking with 911 on speaker phone who helped me keep focused. I checked 3 times for a pulse and there was none...none at all. EMT's arrived and one of them took over the CPR from me after what seemed like an eternity with me drenched in sweat and I prayed earnestly for the Lord to not take him from us. They began doing their thing but it didn't look good at all. After about 45 minutes with the help of the EMT's and God Almighty he did regain his vital signs and tonight is back home recovering. To those of you that replied in this post, please pray that God would open his eyes and heart to the reality of His existence. Those of you that know Him, know what I mean.

  11. There are no federal laws that say you cannot carry a firearm in a commercial vehicle. You just have to make sure that you follow the laws within each jurisdiction said commercial vehicle will traveling. I have legally carried in a commercial vehicle every day for several years, unless I know I'll be delivering to Ft. Campbell, where I know I'm prohibited from carrying a firearm.

  12. Your guess is as good as mine. I assume because they say he was unresponsive; they were yelling and trying to get his attention. My experience from watching Firefighters make entry is that they are yelling “FIRE DEPARTMENT” when they are forcing entry. Now whether they are calling “unresponsive” as they saw him through a window or something and he was unresponsive, or unresponsive as in they didn’t know if he was there or not is not clear. I’ve had to request from Command to force entry on a few “check on the welfare” cases; we usually left the entry to the Fire Depart as they have the tools for it. In the cases I was involved in we either had a dead body or some having a medical emergency that would have died had we left. We required family members or some pretty good information that the person needed help or was dead. Firemen aren’t cops, they aren’t trying to arrest anyone and they aren’t trying to move in fast. I just can’t imagine them not identifying themselves as they were making entry. But I guess anything could happen.

  14. I liked my last one, but it was a colt mag variety. Was curious to try a Glock version and since I have a bunch of Glock mags and no Glock, the Spartan grabbed my attention. Probably gonna pick up the matching upper with LRBHO when they come available again. New Frontier makes these, but I hate their roll mark billboard. The Joe Bob Spartan looks better. So far I like it. Updated with current build parts. The beefier Spartan billet side charging upper wouldn't work with the UTG handguards, so I went with the Samson Evo's. Really like the feel of the Samson's. I also like that the Samson fits on an existing barrel nut. Makes it easy if you already have a standard barrel nut. I didn't but I still like the idea for the future.

  19. Someone please propose a $5000 tax on democrats. No worries, their opinions and rights won't be suppressed or infringed. It's just an excise tax on liberalism.    In other news, the great war of independence of the Mariana Islands started 2016 over the unjust taxation of goods usually untaxed in the continental US. The event known as the Saipan Gun Party started the evening of....

  20. Just for information, the 300 Blackout is no different than 5.56 below the shoulder. To make 300 Blackout from a 5.56/223 case you chop the 5.56/223 case at the shoulder. Both supersonic 300 Blackout and 223 loads run at the same operating pressures as well. Any 300 Blackout upper should run on any milspec 5.56 lower without modification. If a 300 Blackout upper will not work on a standard milspec lower then the problem is with the upper, not the lower. And if you MUST modify the firearm then modify the upper to work with the milspec lower and do not modify the lower to work with the upper. I have been involved with the 300 Blackout for a very long time. I am a moderator on a board dedicated to the caliber. I have designed four bullets for use with the 300 Blackout and one is even being used in factory loaded ammunition. I have probably seen every type of problem specific to the 300 Blackout.

  21.   Well, there is the "common or contract carrier" section of 18 USC 922 regarding interstate transport.   "It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to deliver or cause to be delivered to any common or contract carrier for transportation or shipment in interstate or foreign commerce, to persons other than licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors, any package or other container in which there is any firearm or ammunition without written notice to the carrier that such firearm or ammunition is being transported or shipped; except that any passenger who owns or legally possesses a firearm or ammunition being transported aboard any common or contract carrier for movement with the passenger in interstate or foreign commerce may deliver said firearm or ammunition into the custody of the pilot, captain, conductor or operator of such common or contract carrier for the duration of the trip without violating any of the provisions of this chapter. No common or contract carrier shall require or cause any label, tag, or other written notice to be placed on the outside of any package, luggage, or other container that such package, luggage, or other container contains a firearm."   - OS

  22. Well, I bought my 2nd Glock today  I've been wanting one for a long time. Finally picked one up yesterday and just cleaned and lubed it for the first time. I'm hoping to get to run some rounds through it really soon. Glock 19 Gen 4

  24. There is no federal law against having firearms in a commercial vehicle. I would like to know what federal/state law they cite for not allowing guns. I guess it would be illegal in some states, NY and Cali for example. Maybe they think it's just easier for them to say it's a complete ban instead of saying "It may be illegal in certain states..." and leaving it up Joe Citizen to know. (I doubt that would end well) I wonder if a carrier that transported a person with a pistol into one of those states would be violating any laws?

  25. Update guys: I went to O'Reilly this morning, the first chance I've had since the tow. Picked up the VSS for 90 bucks. I had a little sticker shock since it's the size of a spark plug. But it's not the price of a rebuild so I'm good with that. Jacked up the truck, changed it out and dropped back on its tires. Drive around the neighborhood one time and it shifted every single gear as it should!!! Now I'm not counting ALL my chickens as I haven't fully tested it. But I'm very happy, said my thank you prayer and I'm off to drive it back to O'Reilly for some windshield wiper blades. It's a road test and also my passenger blade looks like I'm fishing for bass. Thanks so much for everyone's help and I'll post back up after the road trip!

  28. If you look at those pictures; that is what a manufacturing facility looks like. It is filled with machine tools that make product. They employee skilled trade people that manufacture guns. As opposed to those that want to claim “American Made” when they are nothing more than an assembly facility. Good for them.

  36. I am enrolled in the program. I needed to be seen by a specialist but the soonest I could be seen at the VA was 3+ months. The VA tried to find a doctor on the economy but we could not find a single doctor in Knoxville who was willing to see me. By the time my VA appointment rolled around the issue had resolved itself. It is a great program but it is useless if civilian doctors are unwilling to see the veteran. I suspect the reason why no civilian doctors want to is because they are probably being paid well below the average.
