Casting is not about cost for me. It is about always being able to shoot regardless of what the market does. Another is it is a skill that can come in handy. I swap Bullets and molds around so we can try out a bullet before buying. But if there is one thing I can say it is this. No matter what you do you will never save any money but what you get to do is shoot more.2 points

Anyone listed on the trust can be in possession of trust held items. Who's listed on the trust that ain't getting deployed? That's where I would say they should be locked up.2 points

Agreed The current state of our college's frankly scares me. Going back to the ancient greek and roman theologans, rigorous debate was the purpose of having the discussion, and it was the sharing of thoughts and idea's that produced new-found knowledge! The fact that one can no longer express a divergent opinion, much less debate one, makes 'higher education' the ultimate oxymoron. - K2 points

This is a fact. If the price of being a "young dumbass" was losing an appendage, this would be my profile pic2 points

Im back!!! Awhile back I trolled around here on a regular basis. I fell out of the loop due to no ones fault but my own. Some may remember me and most wont. For the past 12 years I'v earned my gun money as a Firefighter / A-EMT for The City of Milan. Im married to a wonderful lady that tolerates my addiction for all things that go BANG. I have a 3 y/o daughter that hands down is the true love of my life. Im an avid hunter of all things with a season and enjoy sending hot lead down range accompanied by the smell of gunpowder. My collection of scary black guns that hold unlimited amounts of ammunition has steadily grown over the past year or so to include my latest which is a 18" 6.8 SPC. I currently have another build that is awaiting its BCG and 24" hurricane fluted .204 barrel. My taste in firearms is scattered over a broad spectrum and have a special place in my heart for the pre 64 model 70. Most of my neighbors tolerate me and the others have came to grips with that, calling the law only makes things worse. I pay for my bullets and have the right to practice the fine art of gun control, thats just the way it is. Im looking forward to getting back in the TGO circle where the vast ocean of knowledge has kept me from dying of thrust on more than one occasion..1 point

To anyone who can find me an in stock 50 BMG bolt gun. Local or nationwide, don't care. It can be an AR15 upper or complete gun. Single shot or magazine fed. I will pay you when I order from your link. This is a no BS offer, I guarantee I will pay and you can trust me. I will not buy then refuse to pay. If multiple posts have the same link then the one with the earliest time stamp will get the finders fee.1 point

I'm fine with the arena as a private entity declaring their venue off limits to guns. Private property is private property. I'm fine with the RNC declaring the convention off limits to guns if their contract with the arena doesn't prohibit that, since the convention is a private event. That might not be the smartest move politically given their base, but it's not wrong from a legal perspective. What I'm not fine with is the Secret Service getting to put a gun-free radius around whoever they happen to be providing protective services for. That's the government infringing on the lawful carrying of arms by those vetted by the individual state, or states in the case of reciprocity. The Secret Service can give all the pre-packaged statements they want about security, and the event being secure. They can't guarantee 100% safety, and as a protective services provider, the only ones they have to care about protecting are individuals under their protection. In other words, out of the thousands of people attending the convention, only a handful will be protected by the Secret Service, who will ultimately have control over pretty much anyone working security for the event. Everyone else just has to hope things work out for the best. Not exactly how the idea of individual protection works.1 point

I am having one built. It will use a Lothar Walther barrel at 29". It is a 41V50 barrel that is hardened. Whole gun should come in at under 20 pounds. The company that has been building them for close to 20 years. I have not found a single problem or complaint about them anywhere, I am sure at least one customer hasn't been happy but I cannot seem to find him. They are custom built to the customer's specs at the time of order and what amazes me is they only have a week lead time. Not like I will be able to shoot it anytime soon because of my surgery coming up but at least it will be waiting. Matter of fact I have no plans of shooting this thing much at all. Seems like everyone is waiting on Mossberg of Mexico to send their barrels north. Every single manufacturer I have spoke to in the past week uses Mossberg barrels and every one of them is out of stock for the foreseeable future. Makes you wonder what the hell is going on we do not know about. And from everything I have read about the 50 Lothar Walther barrels it should be a shooter with decent ammunition. Ligamec is who I ordered it from. He makes an ultralight model and that is what I ordered. Cost was not too bad either considering what I was planning on spending. http://www.ligameccorp.com/raptor_50_p/upr-50.htm My only planned change is to install a more effective muzzle brake, perhaps I will put my $50 finder's fee towards it.1 point

Something like this? http://50bmg.net/als_50_conversion.php They say around $2,500.00 mark for the kit but I don't know anything about it. If it works out use the $50.00 to take your wife out to dinner, she deserves a night out with you for letting you spend so much time helping out on this board.1 point

http://news10.com/2016/03/28/police-nashville-man-shot-after-drawing-pellet-gun-at-us-capitol/ My favorite part: "News 2 did some digging and found Dawson’s address in Antioch is the same for St. Luke’s Community Church, whose website lists Dawson as the pastor. Neighbors told News 2 they don’t know of any actual church..." Someone pinch me please...1 point

Bho is a fellow traveler, the problem is his lack of manhood and inability to be man enough to say what he really means. He is the weakest man without a soul that I have ever seen and Fidel doesn't want the cause to be belittled by such a piss ant. Of course, that's just my opinion.1 point

Never been much on turkey hunting, but figured I'd give it a whirl this year. This is in front of my dad's place out in Lebanon yesterday. One of these 3 dudes will probably not make it through next weekend.1 point

When Morgan was carrying on about how if he hadn't let the Wolf live then the Wolf wouldn't have been there to save Denise and Denise wouldn't have been there to save Carl my thought was, "If you had killed the Wolf he wouldn't have taken Denise hostage. In fact, she only left the infirmary to go to the jail because you (Morgan) asked her to because the Wolf was injured. So. Morgan, if you had killed that Wolf then Denise wouldn't have been in that position to need saving in the first place, dumbass."1 point

I'm guessing the deer will be the ones you'll see when you go and not birds. They seem to know the hunting season calender. :)1 point

Get you some hornady lever evolution boolits for it. Easily extends the range of the 30-30 to 200+yards. A 160grn bullet going 2400fps sighted in 3" high at 100 will be 0.2" low at 200 and -12.1 at 300.1 point

If you guys grew up in the south like I did, then I'm sure you guys can find it in your hearts to feel bad for the guy. When I was younger I did way more dangerous stuff and lived to tell the tale, only because I was a lucky sumbitch.1 point

My daughter wasn't very happy about the idea of being watched via this tracking device, but she has quickly learned to accept it. This thing has really given me some peace of mind, especially when she's scheduled to work late hours. I can't thank Dustbuster enough.1 point

I struggled with the cost narrative for 20+ years. Then Sandy Hook happened, and the ammo all dried up. I threw out the ROI, and changed the prism I looked through from a cost model to a necessity model. I basically went from zero of having nothing to having everything I would ever need to reload every caliber I had, and I purchased probably a lifetime supply of primers, bullets, brass, all within a month along with the capital to reload. I have never regretted, and I learned so much after reloading about 10+ different calibers. Now fast forward to now. Its great that I have all those supplies, plus I have a choice to buy factory or reload, and I have the experience and knowledge to reload. Never again will be caught with my pants down!1 point

Yep, I have all of their stuff and remain a huge fan. I actually only got into them right before Disarm the Descent, so I kinda' came in in the middle of the changeup back to Jesse. I like all of it, except ther very first album which was pretty rough. I seem to find bands later in their careers, skipping a lot of the "you changed, I hate you now" stuff. The first Metallica album I bought was Reload. Got into that, then went backwards and I love all of their stuff, short hair or long. :-)1 point

Wasn't the tracking in Bell Buckle the local population? I can't imagine you guys were able to set foot too far off of that property before all kinds of people would know what you were up to.1 point

Nope, couldn't care less about them. They're actually the only critter I have almost less than no interest in hunting. Can't explain why, they just don't do a thing for me.1 point
