WWF fired its leaders after somebody dropped a dime on their spending habits. Apparently they were spending 40% of income on overhead. It will be good if that money can go where it was intended, rather than being used for expensive "conferences" at resorts.3 points

They actually have some of the lowest rates as far as what goes to those they are supposed to help. It started life with good intentions and then making money became their goal. I know it is a non profit but that just means their bank account is zero at the end of the year. Like a lot of non profits excess goes into paying salaries rather than into those they are helping. I do not support the WWP and will not. Plenty of other veteran organizations that actually give more. Look at all their legal fees from suing other organizations that are helping our veterans. You mention you help the wounded and they come after you. You have a black and white image of a soldier and they come after you. WWP has sued quite a few and I haven't really looked into it but I wonder home many of those they have sued had to close their doors over mounting legal fees.3 points

And we are full for this match. Looking forward to a great group and a lot of fun on the 24th. I'll send out squad emails closer to time. We will take wait list registration in case any drops, so get on if you want to shoot at an outstanding new facility. This is the first of many matches to come, so be on the lookout for posts.2 points

Marines: "The face of the Marine Corps, and the last thing the enemy will see!" A Marine Force Recon Sergeant as he prepares to grab his ruck and head back out into the Vietnamese jungle. Vietnam ; May, 1971. Navy: A Navy SEAL, carrying a Mk23 5.56mm Machine Gun (Stoner 63), moves through deep mud as he makes his way ashore from a boat, during a combat operation in South Vietnam in 1970. (U.S. Navy photograph by PHC A. Hill) Air Force: Seems that I remember Star Wars using the Snake Eye tail fins from those bombs. The purpose of the cool looking tail fins is to slow the bomb so that it won't impact the jet when it explodes. (Note: I'm hoping that is an Air Force jet) Army. 'Nuff Said2 points

Congrats. Don't believe for a moment this will be your only AR. They don't call it the black rifle disease for nothing. :) Dont believe that crap that AR's can be run "dry". Lube the appropriate areas as shown in the manual. You can never have too much ammo or Pmags. Configure the rifle like you intend to use it otherwise you'll end up installing a bunch of stuff you don't need and just make the rifle heavier. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

That's the thing. I've considered starting a thread titled, "I don't trust Facebook, so I'd like to turn TGO into one" and move a bunch of threads in there... We've got joke threads. We've got animal pictures to no end. Here's funny stuff kids say. A couple of recipe videos and we're there.2 points

Went to Vegas some years back and same thing. Big ole sign on the side of the building touting them as the best, open 24 hours 7 days a week yada yada. Right underneath was a sign saying closed for filming. The shows popularity is stupifying, but not as much so as the amount of people who believe there is any reality to reaity TV.2 points

This actually isn't how I planned on doing this, but I misread the instructions for doing it the way I did want and ended up with this. However, the more I look at it, the less disappointed I am with how it turned out. The green on this is actually closer to Magpul foliage, but my iPhone makes it look a bit blue.1 point

The VW software people programmed the car to recognize the presence of an engine analyzer. When the analyzer is installed, the computer uses different fuel/ignition map and engages the emissions systems. When the analyzer is removed, the computer defaults back to a different map which uses less fuel, disengages emissions systems, and results in higher NOx and SOx emissions than are allowed by the regs. They cheated and got caught. Does that really mean anything to the end consumer? Only if you live in a place that requires emissions testing.1 point

I sure hope this thing works. There are a gazillion things that have to happen perfectly any one of which will turn it into space junk. I figured this guy John L. Casey who discovered this 206 year solar cycle was not BS-ing us when he said one of the first things you need to do is have at least a one year supply of food and be prepared to defend it with a firearm. Now THATS a Scientist we can trust!1 point

I grew up hunting and fishing and my dad taught me to respect nature and obey the rules. These 2 punks have no respect for either and I feel their punishment was no where close to adequate for what they did. Banning them from hunting for life is no punishment, they've already shown they'll kill 40 deer when they want without regard to the law. A measly $5000 fine each isn't enough either. </rant>1 point

Out here it's people on ATV's or 4 wheelers. What we usually do is get the neighbors to help us "stop" them where we're all armed, our neighbor then politely points out the trespassing issue, documents their vehicles and says let's not meet again. It works really well. ;-) and I don't have to waste ammo!1 point

The only way to cure this is for the common people to pay penalties so the brainiacs can use their new found riches to make more senseless policy to fix the problem of too many rainbow unicorns, it's the only thing that makes sense. Thank you Albert Gore1 point

Every one will enjoy their fuel mileage more if they would remove the Ethanol from the fuel. It has been proven that 100% pure gas improved fuel mileage by 15 to 25% depending on the vehicle. That is why you have to stop and purchase fuel more often with Ethanol fuel......... :mad:1 point

Gordon, I have in no way had the terrible problems and experiences you have, and wouldn't dare compare myself to you or them. I will say that after the last couple of years of recovery from my issues, I do have a better outlook on most things. I try not to be quite so troubled by little things, even money troubles. It has been a long time coming though. I was sitting on my back porch yesterday after putting some shelves together in bare spot in my "supposed gun room." I saw the green coming back, the wind in the trees, and was listening to the flowing water in the spring. I had so much peace at that time, I couldn't help but reflect on the change in myself over these last years. I think I have changed for the better, I really didn't like myself that much, and still don't. I have a lot of failings to overcome yet. But still trying Within the scope of my abilities, worldly, fiscally, and physically; I'm trying for the outlook similar to what you describe. Coming troubles will come...regardless of fretting and worry. Just try to be prepared and face them as we can.1 point

I, too, have done my fair share of worrying, even for many years after I became a Christian. But slowly and surely, I've learned to replace that kind of thinking with the reality of knowing Jesus Christ. Once I was driving down a highway and a car began to pull out in front of me--about a quarter mile down the road. Suddenly, this thought flashed into my mind, "Aren't you going to jam on your brakes?" Somewhat puzzled, I answered, "Of course not. By the time I get there, the car will either be gone or up to speed." The "voice" replied immediately. "Then why let worry cloud your life when the things you fear may never happen?" I'm thankful that the Lord has never quit preaching that sermon while I eventually grasped that it's best to just to take Him at his Word and "cast all of your care upon Him, because He cares for you."1 point

I change often, I must be the weird one. Sometimes I like the various Glocks, others the various Sigs, and then there is the 1911 and the Beretta. I believe my team of rotation has feelings, and if they don't get love, then they may not function when needed.1 point

It is a 9 twist SS 16" barrel that is not chrome lined. All loads are 2.23" OAL in order to feed from the magazines. The brass was match prepped and used Wolf SRM primers. There was no crimp, only neck tension holding the bullet. The brass was R-P with several loadings on them. I ran loads from 27.1 to 28.3 with 53 SMK. 28.3 grains seemed like a sweet spot with the 53 SMK. 27.7 did equally as well. For the 69 SMK I loaded from 24.5-24.9 grains. They did fine and shot comparable to my Varget loads with the same charge weights. Although it may not shoot the 69 better than Varget it is doing it cheaper. I have loaded using H335 and the SMP 842 is more accurate. Tula runs around 4"-5" at 100 yards. With factory Remington green box it was shooting 2" at 100 yards. With Blackhills it was around an inch. I have never really did any shooting using surplus US ammo. And all of this was done with a bore that has had little more than a bore snake ran through it in years. I did clean the bolt in order to see how clean the powder was. And as always my data was safe in my gun. I cannot guarantee it will be in yours. Make sure you follow published data and work up accordingly to keep yourself safe. Do no rely on my load data, do your own research. Dolomite1 point
