One thing this does and the main reason i'm all for having a state gun is that it makes a "statement" to the people of Tennessee and the country that Tennessee and Tennessean's are pro-2nd Amendment. Read some of the comments posted in the Nashville Scene article Oh Shoot posted, control freak liberals hate it. Passing this sends a message to them pretty much saying Tennessee is a pro-gun state, don't like it then move to California. I know there's a lot more legislation we would like to see passed but i'll keep saying it, Tennessee is far far better than many states when it comes to the 2nd. Amendment, just write your Reps to improve the laws. I bet many people complaining have never even emailed their Reps once. Personally, I think it's a proud moment to officially have a state gun and another reason I think the Barrett was a good choice is because it's one of the most controversial guns which makes the statement even stronger. I think i'll email Ronnie Barrett and congratulate him and give him an idea for another business opportunity, M82 Tennessee State Rifle T-shirts and hats. And he owes me one of each for the idea. :)4 points

Guys and Gals, I now will be dealing for several more knife companies, Kershaw Spyderco, SOG, Buck First Edge USA, Pirranha, just to name a few, If you are wanting any certain model of these companies, let me know and I will give you the Best price that I can I am still a Master dealer with Protech, so my close relationship with them allows me access and favors that the other companies will not be able to afford me,2 points

I have researched Elmax and being a one man operation it requires some things such as carbide bits and other stuff I'm not willing to invest in. It's a fine combination of high wear and corrosion resistance but I think the cost prevents me making one and selling it to most of my customers. Finding a piece of barstock even at 5/32" thick provides a challenge in itself but I digress. I do appreciate your offer though.2 points

Nope. The barrel is rifled. It's a handgun chambered in .45 Colt. Any other round that can be fired out of it is just incidental.2 points

Sorry, but this is nonsense and you sound exactly like the typical H&K "my firearm is better than yours" guy. So if 0W20 synthetic oil works just as well as your "gun oil" it's still inferior? What do I know, I don't own any of them fancy weapons. Only ones that will run on engine oil.2 points

Holy cow! I think I'll call the Putnam County Sheriff's Depart to see if they will sell my guns on consignment.2 points

That lady has had 4 strokes in the last five years. No use of her left arm or leg. But she is a fighter. She never quits and would die first. We also have a lady who is 90% blind and the wrong gal to mess with if your looking for an easy target. There's lots of stories out there about that topic. You'd think the ACLU and all the others usually screaming about separation of church and state, prayer in schools, and all the atheists would be marching in the streets and city halls with law suits in hand. I suppose separation of mosque and state don't count though.1 point

I think it leaves your spare mag dangling wildly about beneath your handgun which makes it a moving target for you to try and grasp and properly index with your weak-hand in a mag change. There's a reason why most savvy shooters keep their spare mag in exactly the same spot on their belt every time they carry, with the front of the mag facing toward the front of their body, so that they can grab it, index it, and correctly insert it into the firearm in one very quick motion relying entirely on muscle memory. It's repeatable, every time. What you created is an Ammo Piñata. Maybe you'll catch it, maybe you won't. :)1 point

Gerber, for one, makes very similar knives for a small fraction of the price. I can't see it unless the gubmint is going to buy me one too.1 point

Trump has no allegiance. He has already said he will run against the Republican candidate if he doesn't get the nomination. And all that will do is ensure Hillary will be the next president. She has already said gun owners are terrorists so you can imagine the hell she will bring when she becomes president. And Trump is ok with that. He has not always been a friend to conservatives. Trump is appealing to our version of the low information voters. I bet when Hillary gets elected Trump will get a cabinet seat or some sort of appointment for all the help he has given to Hillary. I still believe he is in the race to ensure she wins. Again, look at who Trump socializes with to understand where his allegiances are.1 point

https://vimeo.com/156720833 https://vimeo.com/156720985 I joined these folks last night for my first time shooting in this format. It was a lot of fun. If you are on the fence about going, go ahead and get off of it and go. There were of all types and experience levels. And aside from some good jokes made about some really hot reloads being used, everyone was very supportive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Sure could of used this thing in the first few days in Iraq, we had to either blow captured weapons caches in place, use WP or run them over with M1s.1 point

My name is Scott and I'm a co-founder of TWRA.tv. Thanks so much for posting this back in December! We officially went live on Dec. 1 and as of today (almost 90 days online) TWRA.tv is about to reach 50K pageviews. We're all really excited about this new network and its' value to the people of the Tennessee outdoors. Sorry I'm just now stumbling upon this forum but I look forward to learning more about this community and how we could partner. Perhaps we could talk about building out a TGO channel on TWRA.tv?? https://www.twra.tv/producers Thanks! Scott Scrip scott@hortongroup.com1 point

I bought a new Tikka 204 Ruger as a lightweight walking around varmint gun, but it came with the nice wood stock. I wanted to shed the weight of the wood as well as try my hand at trying to Camo a stock. I was able to get a takeoff T3 Lite stock on ebay for $45 so it was now just down to a Hydro printing kit or spray paint. I really wanted to buy everything to hydro print as I like to play with things like this, but in the end, my $30 in paint won out. I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I don't even really care if gets scratched for no more than I have in it, and a scratch will only blend in. Anyway, if you have ever wanted to try it, it's pretty easy. My results.1 point

I use the graco catch it mk2 at busy ranges or for uncommon brass I want to keep. The best 24.77 (delivered) I have spent in a while. The newer models have a improved rail mount. Overall a homemade look/feel but nice for the asking price. If interested I will post a pic with new mount. Obvious.... pistol needs a rail for this model. On my recommend list http://www.gracomodels.com/picatinny.html1 point

Do you really think ATF would let Taurus sell a SBS without a tax stamp? In short, no, it is not classified as a shotgun for a variety of niche reasons, since it is designed as a .45 pistol with a rifled bore that happens to also shoot .410, never had a buttstock, is not in a caliber over .5", etc. - OS1 point

I'd be afraid of the ceramic rod getting whacked and broken if it was moved to the outside. It's protected up against the body/leg where it is. If you moved it outside, I'd want it to be mostly covered. How about a couple pics of it being worn in the various positions? I'd like to see how/where it rides.1 point

over the years i have used just about every gun oil/gun grease made. i have come to the point that it is just oil/grease. it all does the same thing. for the past several years i use motor oil and axle grease. duty gun, carry gun, match guns they run just the same with motor oil/grease as with the gun oil/grease. i just can not see any different except in the price payed. but,,,,but i do use hoppie's #9 for cleaning. nothing better for cleaning. home made ed's red is second, but don't smell as good as #9.1 point

Sounds like Mobil 1 needs to make a small aerosol can for gun owners......1 point

I think gun lube is a lot like engine oil, it's not so important what you use it's that you use it. I use Mobil 1 for everything because it's good oil and it's cheap. I've used out on guns but usually just grab whatever is close by that looks like it might be slippery.1 point
-
I drank the Frog Lube kool-aid and wasn't overly impressed. I've started using a blend of automatic transmission fluid and 5w30 motor oil. If they are good enough for the high friction, high temperature, and high pressure conditions in a vehicle, I figure they are more than sufficient for keeping my guns lubed up.1 point

In person auctions I totally agree with you on that but can't see overall wearing papaw sitting at a keyboard hitting "bid". Those type of losers need you to see them outbid you in person to achieve the satisfaction they seek.1 point
