Hey guys... no harm in asking! We are still moving forward. I had one prototype made and it frankly looked horrible. The engraving service was proving hard to work with so I abandoned them and have started working with another. Hope to have word this week! :)6 points

An Army Ranger, a Recon Marine, a Navy SEAL, and a member of Delta Force are sitting around a camp fire. The Army Ranger, bragging about his exploits says "You guys aren't so tough, I once parachuted down, marched fifty miles, and killed everyone in sight." The Recon Marine is unimpressed, and says, "That's nothing, I once made a beach landing, marched 60 miles, and killed everyone in sight." The SEAL is unimpressed, he says "That's nothing, I once swam 10 miles to shore, marched 70 miles, and killed everyone in sight with my bare hands." Thoroughly impressed, they all look over at the Delta Force member, and he's dead silent, just stirring the coals of the fire with his d***.5 points

Sorry, but this is nonsense and you sound exactly like the typical H&K "my firearm is better than yours" guy. So if 0W20 synthetic oil works just as well as your "gun oil" it's still inferior? What do I know, I don't own any of them fancy weapons. Only ones that will run on engine oil.4 points

This one is for a Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter. It has loops for the Exotac ferro rod and a ceramic sharpening rod I put together for the sheath. I have black steel hardware on the way so all the silver will be swapped out soon. I took the advice of others and made the drop loop removable, so it could be worn high on the belt or horizontally. With the D-rings, it has a couple of lashing points as well. There is a big thick welt on the blade side that roughly follows the stitching. What design tweaks should I make for the next one? I think I am going to make some minor changes to how the loops attach on the back, and the D-ring on the bottom will be attached differently. I placed the loops for the ferro rod and sharpening rod to the rear to make the face of the sheath more streamlined, but I am wondering if I should move them to the front. Like the previous prototype there are some minor flaws with the stitching and cosmetics. Suggestions are appreciated.3 points

I bought a new Tikka 204 Ruger as a lightweight walking around varmint gun, but it came with the nice wood stock. I wanted to shed the weight of the wood as well as try my hand at trying to Camo a stock. I was able to get a takeoff T3 Lite stock on ebay for $45 so it was now just down to a Hydro printing kit or spray paint. I really wanted to buy everything to hydro print as I like to play with things like this, but in the end, my $30 in paint won out. I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I don't even really care if gets scratched for no more than I have in it, and a scratch will only blend in. Anyway, if you have ever wanted to try it, it's pretty easy. My results.3 points

So, I did a quick Google search for my next gun-oil idea... Thankfully no one has marketed ReallyYakSnot(®) yet. Now to contact my sources in Tibet. R_Bert3 points

Acid etched x4, this bad boy came out nice and dark. 01 steel etches really nice. I'm thinking some yellow/black striated G-10will look cool! Like a really sharp "bumble bee"! For your viewing pleasure!2 points

I drank the Frog Lube kool-aid and wasn't overly impressed. I've started using a blend of automatic transmission fluid and 5w30 motor oil. If they are good enough for the high friction, high temperature, and high pressure conditions in a vehicle, I figure they are more than sufficient for keeping my guns lubed up.2 points

That's what I mean when I wrote my angry one-liner. Anyone beating on the elderly, women, children, frail, sick, handicapped are such deprived, soul-less bags of dirt that have no chance of being rehabilitated. I can understand anger, but once he confronted Bobby, any last bit of remaining morals should have caused him to pause. Apparently that wasn't the case. Total lack of self-control, total lack of morals, total lack of anything that makes humans human. May he rot in prison for the rest of his pathetic life. My condolences to Bobby's family.2 points

Easy, he's a long lost descendant of Houdini ... Because they don't keep babies in jail, just bad guys who break out and escape almost as often as the bad guys on the old "24" series ... BTW, I want to know what type of batteries are in all these cars they keep firing up, obviously I'm buying the wrong brands ...2 points

Because of the circumstance of him having a stroke, sadly a DA can't prove premeditated murder. My hope is that he will at least serve the maximum for manslaughter. The POS is 53 so 30+ years in a prison he's likely he wouldn't leave unless it's in a box. Also sadly he would probably make a plea deal and only get about 5 and probation. Also it should have been obvious to the POS that Bobby was an old man, it's takes a real piece of human garbage and coward to attack someone who you know can't physically defend themselves.2 points

I see a lot of guys talking about being prepared for a SHTF situation, but I notice a trend with a lot of us that was raised on good Southern cooking, and that is a serious problem with being in shape. I've always been pretty athletic and I have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and working out, but in the last four years I gained a lot of weight due to constant travel, divorce, stress, etc. I smoked cigarettes for 11 years and when I "quit" smoking I was never without a chaw in my mouth. Recently, I had a come to Jesus moment about my health. I'm not getting younger. I am no longer "invincible." Nothing in particular happened to me, I just got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time. I used to run four miles a day and I ate great, but my lifestyle changed when work became mostly about travel and free catered food with a dessert spread that would make any man drool at almost every gig. For the past few months I've dropped a great deal of fat from working out 5-6 days a week with weights and cardio and from eating a very clean and balanced diet of single ingredient foods. Nothing fried. I drink water, black coffee and protein shakes. I quit all tobacco. I feel better than I've felt in years, and I've got the people I work with as accountability buddies. We workout together on the road and eat right. Anyway, I say all this to say that it won't matter much if your bug out bag is loaded with the best stuff, or if you have the biggest stockpile of ammo and firearms.. Survival of the fittest is for the people that are prepared in all ways. I just want everyone to be the best they can be! Something to think about!1 point

Congrats! Life gets in the way regularly, but I also started back exercising when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I feel much better and I sleep a whole lot better. I'd love to drop that last 10-15lbs, but man is it hard.1 point

When I was working as a gunsmith I used axle grease and 5w30 Rotella Synthetic motor oil. Now days its more about packaging and convenient sizes. I'm starting to shoot a lot more, and may go back to that but I probably have enough oil and grease to last me a year at this point... I wipe more off than actually gets used on the guns. With grease a little dab will do ya, then smear it around. A few strategic drops of oil go a long way, even if I run a gun on the wet side its still not much oil. Engine lubricants are really great oils. about the only thing in them that I don;t think is useful for most gun applications are some of the additive packages for extended life. A gun simply will not run hot enough long enough to take advantage of them, but they don't hurt at all and the price is right. FOr hunters, and for daily carry corrosion protection is very important. an oil with water displacing capability for external use is important. WD 40, SLIP etc do this. Keep in mind that they are BAD for your Ammo so outside of the gun only and never spray them near the Ammo!1 point

When I got my .300 I was looking to spend under $250. I have never owned any 1-4 power scopes. Just a fixed 4x ACOG and some 3-9 power scopes on a couple of my hunting rifles. I chanced myself with the Nikon P223 1-4 20mm scope, and it's been great. Clear glass, easy adjustments on the fly, and the reticle is awesome. Here's a link to Midway's site with the scope. The scope is set on a Windham 16" .300 blackout and paired with a set of offset MBUS Pro's. I am very pleased with the quality and even more so with the price I paid. I forgot to mention the mount. I got a vortex cantilever mount, and it positions the scope perfectly for my set LOP. If you're looking at LT mounts then there's no reason to consider the Vortex mount. Also, prior to purchasing the Magpul sights, I bought the XS offset sights. I loved the dot/ V setup. I read reviews on amazon mentioning how low they mounted to the receiver. I didn't think it would be an issue so I got them. Once I had them installed I immediately saw the issue. I had to squeeze by cheek to the stock so hard and rotate my shoulders upwards to get the front sight to lay correctly in the rear sight. They're an awesome concept, but the rear sight needs to be a hair taller for a proper sight picture. Hope this helps. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/569409/nikon-p-223-rifle-scope-1-tube-15-4x20mm-bdc-600-reticle-matte http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2420197402/vortex-cantilever-1-piece-extended-scope-mount-picatinny-style-with-integral-rings-ar-15-flat-top-matte1 point

I have not done a lot of research yet, but I'm thinking of just using regular synthetic engine oil. Just a quick search shows guys doing it and also guys using ATF. A quart of that stuff will go along way and if it is designed to work in a combustion engine, It will more than sit through a 200-400 round range session.1 point

I heard on the news a while ago that Bobby was being moved to a Hospice facility which more or less means the doctors have given up on him. I can say this for sure Bobby is and always will be 1000 times more of a man than that POS that attacked him is or ever will be. Bobby and his family will be in my PRAYERS1 point

Nifty looking piece, I'd like to shoot one. I just can't imagine producing something like this as a small business though when the market is already saturated with guns that fill that niche. Don't get me wrong I like the gun I'd just be hesitant to buy something from a small name gun maker, who knows if you will be able to get parts or service down the road.1 point

Tactically it's a good idea to keep your doors locked, just keep that in mind in case you need a quick exit of the vehicle but, weather or not you keep your doors locked, it's still 100% the thug car jacker or road rager's fault if they get shot and killed. I wont lecture, dude should have had his door locked but I will lecture, punk shouldn't have forced his door open. It's 100% the criminals fault.1 point

What, they don't allow .22 for racoon anymore? I didn't realize they added the yardage thing, will have to look at the regs again to see what else I missed. As for the idiots, those same idiots are out in the daytime. Baiting is not really my thing, but I have put out feeders (one year, before my food plot took) during the off season and mineral blocks year round. My issue was with the neighbor part, my hunting land is only 8 acres and many deer come through, but it's not very wide. So my neighbors can effectively put my whole hunting spot off limits if they so choose, even with the 250 yards rule.1 point

its fine as long as yall don't prohecy the future by comparing the present to what will happen in the comics. I agree that I don't like reading spoilers. Just put a disclaimer at the top of your post that says "comic book spoiler"1 point

I've never read a comic book and probably never will. I like the show and don't really care how it follows a comic book. Knowing what is going to happen takes all of the fun out of it. I try to steer clear of "comic book spoilers".1 point

Just my 0.02 opinion here. There is a thought that you could have an un-intentional discharge leading to liability in court. I don't think this would be a criminal matter, but rather a civil one. Civil suits are harder to win against someone that has been exonerated of criminal charges. Personal opinion is that if you can prove that you could shoot more accurately and that this may have prevented a miss when the shooting us righteous in every other way then likely not a problem. The issue with your statement above is that single action gives you more accuracy at extended range. At what range as the threat stopped being a threat to your life? This will vary based on the weapons used against you as well as distance. .. Only you can answer these questions at the time of the conflict. But IMHO it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6...1 point
