  1. I only solved one ONCE.  It was just too hard to get all the stickers peeled off and back on there straight.

  7. I'm still reading and digesting all the info, but this is a good day for gun rights, even if it isn't an outright denial of overreach since they only kicked it back.  It seems the aftereffects of Heller and McDonald are felt in this one.  Some very valid logic was applied, and it's worth special attention that the Chief Judge of the Circuit who wrote the majority opinion was appointed by President Clinton in 1998.     Read the rest of the story here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/appeals-court-decision-casts-doubt-on-marylands-assault-weapons-ban/2016/02/04/8a234240-cb59-11e5-88ff-e2d1b4289c2f_story.html   And the full opinion here: http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Published/141945.P.pdf     The politics/law geek inside me is giddy to dive into this one. ;)

  14.   It's a great project, probably by a few college students but also possibly just tinkerers. It is perfect for exercising programming and logic, algorithms etc. All of which (the knowledge) can be applied in vast areas in life.   Why would you cast bullets if you can just buy them?!?!?!?   :koolaid:

  15. Any money exchange hands? If money exchanged hands, other than banning him on the forum (if site admins warrant it) your only recourse is probably legal action. If not, leave a negative feedback and an explanation for others to see if you deem it warrants it;  Me, on the buyer side I would keep looking, on the seller side I would relist and carry on.

  19. That is why I bought a FN FAL. During the Falklands war and thtoughout the 80's it was the rifle that seemed to be everywhere there was a shooting war going on. Then I watched the Wild Geese. So I bought my FN FAL in 1993 or 1994

  22. Personal opinion here... If you are going to carry Open or Concealed it is a responsibility to maintain a higher level of awareness. Condition Yellow. Its not that hard, but vigilance has to become a state of mind. A major part of that is not making yourself a target. My biggest problem with open carry is that by its nature you become a target for criminals, reporters, business owners, etc. It's not worth the bother. Carry concealed and that solves the problem. It's a shame that the guy was caught unaware of these two criminals, I have no way of knowing if he was doing his best to be vigilant against such an attack or not. Just my $0.02 on the open carry thing. Not an accusation against the victim.   Sadly many good people are denied the right to CCW.   I am a bit skeptical because this happened in VA... After the whole reciprocity thing and the attention to open carry in VA being a way around the loss of reciprocity this happens. Makes ya think...

  24. Let me answer some of your questions. 1. Your not going to find a transferable glock sear, most likely there all pre or dealer samples, SOT can only have them. 2. MP5, there are 2 ways to have a FA, RR registered receiver or sear, RR is the cheapest and less desirable, the sear "Fleming or ?" is the most versatile usually in 9mm, 223 and 308. The down fall of a RR you can't remove the sear and place it into another host, so if your RR is under 16" no stamp is required for a SBR. The sear you can move it to any host you want, only down side if its under 16" every host must have a SBR stamp. 3. My suggestion look on subguns, sturm and GB, I will personally vouch for Ruben in FL, my rich buddy bough 2 MP5 from him and I bought a Ares Shrike Upper. The process is exactly the same as a can. After seeing the amount of $$ my buddy has spent on his HK collection, compare to my M16 its amazing all I buy is uppers while he buys complete guns.. The 16 is the best bang for your buck...

  29. Thanks everyone! Great info. Nice looking holster, Spots. I'm definately going to give this carry method a try. A chest rig is a great idea, too. I think it would be nice to have it off my belt while riding ATV, tractor and hiking

  32. People need to realize they are not on horseback in open country with a fast draw set up buckled on. On foot in a crowd you are vulnerable to these Heckle and Jeckle teams where one comes from behind while the other has you distracted. Never show your cards before all bets are down and don't let anybody see your weapon very long before the loud noise and funny smell. Once they grab your arm on the holster side your in trouble. A shirt pocket shank that you can grab with either hand will help them to remember to keep their hands to themselves. Sunfish

  41. Wing...   I've got several shoulder holsters; Bianchi old time shoulder (...X18... i think...) and a real good military built by El Paso saddlery... Back in the long ago, used to carry a 1911 in the Bianchi... The problem with it wuz it just aint comfortable... I never could get mine adjusted to suit me... The pistola gets heavy and it is somewhat of an aggravation down towards the end of the day... If you are barrel chested, or have short arms; a bianchi aint as easy to reach for as you might think... I've never tried the newer "balanced" type shoulder rigs that have the pistola on one side and the mags or speed loader on the other... My suspicion is that they are a bit more comfortable for a small pistola; not a large one like the Glock 20....Weight is weight no matter where it's hung... Now to the military by El Paso... They work like a charm.. I like 'em a lot... They work very well sittin down or riding, because they are in the right place for ya ta get your hands on... The problem... Mine wuz $100 plus a bunch of years ago (...i'm an El Paso Saddlery "junkie"...)...   Havin said all that,; here is a bunch i really like.... http://clarkforkleather.com/leather-chest-holster/   I intend to order one of these shortly for my Glock cannon... I like 'em lots... I believe they will be lots more comfortable... I can't see givin $175 plus for the same thing from some of the "more well known makers"...   Hope this helps....   leroy

  45. If you don't like the way it feels or fits, why not just buy a gun you DO like the fit and feel of? There are lots of choices.   I don't understand all this melting/whittling/grinding/etc. crap. Just buy a gun that fits YOU, instead of bastardizing one. :screwy:
