My wife and I were sitting in our warm home enjoying the morning, and seeing the great view of the clean snow. Well we heard some activity out front. So I slid on my lackey and walked out to my neighbor and his 2 sons clearing the snow out of my walk and driveway. I was floored. He told me he was just paying back. He told me his mother lives up north and every time there is a snow. His mothers walks and drive is cleared for her by neighbors. Makes you understand there are still men in this world who know how to show their sons what values and character is. We are blessed6 points

Women who are totally cool with mechanical things goin on in the kitchen. Rebuilding an alpha drive in the warmth as opposed to the cold garage. Rebuilt the carb last week at the kitchen table (house smelled like gas but only a little because I pre cleaned with gun solvent). She does love being on the boat and I'm cheap labor but she'd let me do it anytime. I have a Yamaha R1 and it was in the kitchen having a little maintenance not too long ago. She's about the best a guy could ask for.4 points

Nothing says you can't but with that said you need to be extra careful not AD on that first shot, because your use to DA first shots. Dry fire is the way to fix the said problem, practice drawing DA first shot. Pay close attention to the sights, they'll tell you everything your doing wrong. When all else fails dry fire then dry fire some more.3 points

Honeybun, made sometime since when plastic was begun to be used for food packaging. Eating this stuff is really good for you because it keeps your body from aging. If it doesn't rot it won't let your body rot either, right?3 points

So was I late to the party and missed the discussion on this movie? I watched it awhile back, and recently got it for a Birthday present. To me it is one of the best action films in a long time. I loved the use of judo throughout the movie, as it's an art I've trained in for years and it rarely gets press. A lot of the throws and techniques were executed very well. I also liked that it showed multiple reloads instead of infinite bullets and seemed to put a more tactically minded methid of handling a pistol to good use. Anybody else impressed with the movie? Just did my 43 this evening; first gun. Practiced on Pmags and such in the past. Full stipple, flats, and undercut. Just had to man up and go for it. Wasn't that bad. Try it out!2 points

The OCers may be trolling with a baited hook, but the officers are under no obligation to take that bait. Everyone involved is responsible for their own actions. That's what folks on both sides tend to miss. The OCer in the video is an asshole, and so is the cop using the power of his position to harass someone who's sole crime is being an asshole. There is no good guy in that video.2 points

I definitely was late to the party. Bought this movie this week, and finally watched it last night. Much much better than my expectations, and really enjoyed it. It is definitely one of the better action movies that has come out in a good while. I read above a sequel will come out, and googled it. http://www.movienewsguide.com/john-wick-2-update-photos-show-keanu-reeves-fighting-underworld-assassins/141654 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4425200/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm No release date yet.2 points

Good, in fact maybe excellent! If it can bring about a lawsuit that would help bring sensible gun control to it's knees. I feel bad for the thousands of people stuck being not able to buy a gun.2 points

I get the idea of exercising your rights. I don't get the idea of being a whiny dick about it, especially to cops. They're like fish on a hook. You dangled the bait, they bit on it, and the harder you reel, the harder they fight back. You're never going to win the "reasonable suspicion" argument with a cop. Be nice. Show them your ID. Then show the open carry law that you've got bookmarked on your phone for just this sort of occasion. Explain politely. Offer to talk to their boss and explain it to the whole department. Be nice.2 points

Can someone elaborate on how hiding your rights under your shirts is promoting "civilians" carrying and supporting the 2A? How is it that if I go and order a sandwich at subway while CC is innocuous but openly is baiting? Oh, that's right, no one knows if they can't see it. Look, I do both OC and CC as I have stated before and I expect to be left alone by everyone, especially the police, if I am not breaking any laws. Just like everyone else who just wants to get a sandwich at subway. Do I agree with how the guy handled it? Well, I am only responsible for my own behavior just as he is and if that is how he stood up to an unlawful detainment and harassment then so be it and good for him. I have had nothing but good experiences while I OC. Comments have been all positive and the few police officers that have seen me OC have handled it exactly as I believe they should and did absolutely nothing because I was doing nothing wrong. The only way others will be educated that good people carry guns too is if they see other good people like themselves carrying. Hiding it doesn't do it.1 point

It's actually a really nice rifle and you can safely use fairly warm reloads of SJSP-SJHP bullets w/o fear of the deformation during recoil in a tube magazine. It being of stainless steel and synthitic stock construction makes it a nice outdoors gun or knock around truck or trunk rifle. What you get is a nice little deer or hog hunting rifle for a competent shooter/hunter. It is a good compainion piece to a .357 Magnum revolver.1 point

Yea, I probably came across wrong. My concern is more for my rights than anything against any policeman. Regardless, I will never talk to the police, even the few that I know personally. I was on the same team as a current cop. If he ever came to my door he'd get nothing.1 point

I wish we could say this is an isolated incident, but unfortunately we know from the literally hundreds of people who have been released after being wrongfully convicted that the legal system (not justice system, as the state likes to portray it) is heavily stacked against you. Once you are in the cops' crosshairs you might as well be a Viet Cong in the crosshairs of Carlos Hathcock, because sure as the sun will rise tomorrow they're gonna get you. Anyone who knows this and talks to the police gets no sympathy from me. It is never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever in your best interest to talk to the police, ever. Did I mention ever? If you have never seen this video, you owe it to yourself to watch it in its entirety. Yes, I know it's an hour out of your life, but this is one of the most important messages you might ever see. In it a law professor gives you ten reasons you should never talk to the police, complete with several real world examples that correspond. To be fair, he allows a police officer respond to his ten reasons and say where he was unfair or incorrect. Very educational. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc1 point

So you wouldn't help innocent, unarmed people because you can't be hailed as a hero like a police officer would? You think that should be the motivation for preserving life and protecting those who can't protect themselves? Also, to your comment about being shot by police, of course it's possible. However, it's also possible you'll be shot by the bad guy. If you're willing to risk being shot by a bad guy to protect innocents, why wouldn't you be willing to risk being shot by the good guy? The end result is the same. I just can't fathom standing by while innocent people are murdered and having the ability to stop it, yet only being concerned about myself and letting them die. Maybe I'm just wired differently than many of you. Maybe I was raised differently. But I can't believe you'd live your life without extreme guilt if you did something so incredibly selfish. For those of you with families, you aren't there 24/7 by their side to protect them. I know I'm not. How would you feel if your wife or child was facing certain death, and the only person there who could stop it said, "F*** them, I gots mine!" I just can't fit this way of thinking into my head. It's cowardly. I mean that.1 point

I don't expect anyone is obligated to engage an active shooter unless it would involve protecting my life or life of Loved ones. With that said, I would more than likely if I had a good chance of seeing an opportunity to take down an active shooter that was trying to kill innocent people I would engage the shooter/shooters and hope that there might be a couple more Sheep Dogs at the scene willing to also engage. In most cases the shooters are not expecting someone to be shooting back which does give a Sheepdog an edge. With that said my family and myself comes first and foremost.......................jmho1 point

I am 100% in favor of legal OC, I'm also 100% against acting like a donkey's rear while doing it. I generally prefer to OC while hiking, fishing, etc. generally in a remote outdoor setting where I'm not going to come into contact with many people. There is no need in getting the sheep all riled up no matter how much fun it can be. I think the biggest issue responsible gun owners face on the subject of OC is the lack of discretion by most all of the people who OC in public places. If this opinion offends you then suck it up butter cup.1 point

Added some Single Barrel Whistle Pig Straight Rye 10-year to the library... I also had a staffer suggest Jim Beam Black for something cheap to try. I might go back for that this weekend. It would have seemed weird walking out with the Whistle Pig and a $20 bottle of Beam.1 point
