  1. Bob was sitting on the plane waiting to fly to Chicago , when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking in fear.     "What's the matter, afraid of flying?" Bob asked.     "No, it's not that. I've  been transferred to Chicago . The people are crazy there, right? Lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, poor schools, and the highest crime rate in the nation."     Bob replied, "I've lived in Chicago all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, and enroll your kids in a nice private school. I've worked there for 14 years and never had the slightest trouble."     The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you've lived and worked there all those years and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?"         "I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck."

  8. I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager)     I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. I have ID that gets me into bars and the wine store.  I like the wine store best.       The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, they aren’t scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared and I don't have acne. Life is Good! Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.    Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.  Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full.  Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for.  It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise.                                                     SO THERE!!    I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.  So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too.

  12. Jesus Christ!!! It has been legal to open carry a handgun without a permit in Kentucky for as long as I can remember. How is this state any different? Any "blood in the streets" predictions are for complete idiots.
    3 points
  13.   UUUUMMM, are we posting on the right forum? To the second part, it will not allow felons to "legally" carry a firearm of any kind or to even possess a firearm of any kind. And who are we to judge who is responsible or not to carry a handgun? I know people, and i'm sure we all know someone who we "wish" didn't own a firearm but it's not my place or anyone else's to tell the masses who should or should not carry. That's punishing everyone for the idiocy of the few.   And, it's called the Bill Of RIGHTS, not the Bill Of PRIVILEGES.

  16. Absolutely Brilliant !!!       COSTELLO:  I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America  .   ABBOTT: Good Subject.  Terrible Times.  It’s 5.6%.   COSTELLO:  That many people are out of work?   ABBOTT: No, that’s 23%.     COSTELLO: You just said 5.6%.   ABBOTT:  5.6% Unemployed.   COSTELLO:  Right 5.6% out of work.    ABBOTT: No, that’s 23%.   COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s  23% unemployed.   ABBOTT: No, that’s 5.6%.    COSTELLO:  WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 5.6% or 23%?    ABBOTT: 5.6% are unemployed.  23% are out of work.    COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.    ABBOTT:  No, Obama said you can’t count the “Out of Work” as the unemployed.  You have to look for work to be unemployed.   COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!    ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.   COSTELLO:  What point?   ABBOTT:  Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.    COSTELLO: To whom?   ABBOTT: The unemployed.     COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.     ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.    COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?   ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!   COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don’t look for work?   ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes  down. That’s how it gets to 5.6%. Otherwise it would be 23%.   COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?     ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.   COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?   ABBOTT: Correct.   COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?   ABBOTT: Bingo.     COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.   ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like a Democrat.    COSTELLO:  I don’t even know what the hell I just said!     ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like Hilary

  17. So you wouldn't help innocent, unarmed people because you can't be hailed as a hero like a police officer would? You think that should be the motivation for preserving life and protecting those who can't protect themselves? Also, to your comment about being shot by police, of course it's possible. However, it's also possible you'll be shot by the bad guy. If you're willing to risk being shot by a bad guy to protect innocents, why wouldn't you be willing to risk being shot by the good guy? The end result is the same. I just can't fathom standing by while innocent people are murdered and having the ability to stop it, yet only being concerned about myself and letting them die. Maybe I'm just wired differently than many of you. Maybe I was raised differently. But I can't believe you'd live your life without extreme guilt if you did something so incredibly selfish. For those of you with families, you aren't there 24/7 by their side to protect them. I know I'm not. How would you feel if your wife or child was facing certain death, and the only person there who could stop it said, "F*** them, I gots mine!" I just can't fit this way of thinking into my head. It's cowardly. I mean that.

  19. I built mine from PSA parts and got into it for $550.00 including magazines. Run's like a champ. Mine is a 10.5" but my Buddy is running a 16". These are both running Colt SMG magazines. DMARK, a member on this site also has some nice AR 9's running Colt mags. That being said, in my circle all of my Compadre's bitch about their carbines that are running a Glock magazine setup. With failures to feed and battery issues. I'm not talking about reading on the internet issues.I have owned two Hi Point 9 carbines and they were great. I just wished someone would make a great hi cap magazine.

Being able to look through the classifieds and list some things on occasion (have some scopes and other things I've been meaning to get out of the safe that will go up soon) is helpful as well. 23. Trust me, Arab Christians drink. I've been to a couple of Christian weddings in Iraq. First off, they party better than most American weddings I've been to. Secondly, they drink.... a lot; and they want you to drink more. Third, if I hadn't already met the love of my life, I would have walked out of one of those weddings with a new wife.

  24. Reasons I reload:   1.  I just plain enjoy the hobby.  It's almost mind-numbingly relaxing after a hard day.  Just turn the stereo on with my favs from the 80's and a big glass of sweet tea and I'm off to the races.   2.  It don't matter who is president if I have a big ole bucket of brass, a keg of carefully chosen powder, a couple thousand bullets and some hoarded up primers.  Ammo can disappear from the shelves for a while but I can keep on enjoying my shooting.   3.  Sometimes, I get just a little weird and want to make a unique combination of ammo.  Recently, I wanted to see how quiet a cast 9mm I could load for a pistol cal carbine without sticking a bullet.  I was able make one that would clear the barrel, regularly hit the target at 20 yards and sounded no louder than a finger-snap.  (gave me a big smile)  You can't buy stuff like that.   4.  I like reloading!  (Oh, I mentioned that before.)  You see, I didn't mention saving money.  I don't save money.  My hobbies are not about saving money.  My hobbies give me pleasure and if I can afford them then the money is not the issue.   So, the more important question you might think on would be, "Would I enjoy reloading for it's own sake?"  Give it a try, you might find you really like it, too.

  25. I am bummed. The day I left for marine corps boot camp, "somebody's gonna hurt someone blared on the radio in the recruiters van,as we departed to fly to Parris island SC. For boot camp. The day I got out, "already gone" was blaring on my radio as I rolled out of the main gate at camp Lejeune for the very last time. 30. No, nor should you unless he's between you and door. If you can get your loved ones out, get them out. That's really selfish, but that's life. Doesn't mean if his head is wide open and an easy shot with no chance of collateral damage, I would NOT take the shot, just that I'm all about me and mine first. So should everyone else.

  31. Here's mine. Uzi with no upgrades. I've been thinking about mounting a red dot and putting a ambi charging handle on it but it doesn't serve that much of a role to me. 33. I agree, if they want to infringe on our Constitutional Rights, then at the very least they should make them free and immediate.  The whole thing is nothing more than a revenue stream that the State will not infringe upon, if it was about safety they would have more meat in the classes and make many more courses available to the public.   I support Constitutional Carry, but if it where to pass in TN, I would still maintain my permit; at least until the rest of the US follows suit which will be...never.

  34. How would anyone know you are armed if you have it covered up with your coat?  I'd carry and not tell anyone.  There is no law keeping you from carrying, unless you are on school property.
    1 point
  35. The state wouldn't be forcing private businesses to recognize right to carry by modifying or deleting the 'no gun' sign statute.  If you go into Georgia (well most states honestly), no gun signs do not have any sort of weapons charge issues.  A business owner can still make you leave the property if they discover your weapon, including terminating employees who carry against company policy.  The issue is though a civil issue between the employee or customer and the property owner.  The police do not get involved in that sort of issue unless the gun carrier does not leave when asked.    A property owner in TN could do the same thing and honestly can right now even without a 'no guns' sign.  I just want to see the criminal weapons penalty removed, not force property owners to have to allow guns.  There is a big difference between the two.  That is why I think this state senator's bill is a bad bill because it does not balance property rights with gun carrier's rights.   Think about it this way.  Let's say I don't like alcohol and do not want alcohol on my property.  It is not against the law for you to be carrying a six pack of beer on my property, but I can still ask you to remove the beer or leave if I don't like you bringing beer.  It would be silly if there was a 'no beer' sign law and someone could get arrested over carrying beer when all I have to do is ask the person to leave if I see the beer.  That is the way it should be as far as gun carry.

  41. Liberty is the freedom to do whatever I please, as long as it doesn't infringe on your RIGHTS. You don't have a RIGHT to go to any place of business. Say for example I own a restaurant that is well known to be the best of its type in a 100 mile radius. I also have a no guns sign on the door( replace "gun" with anything"). I ask anyone I see in my restaurant with one to leave. Or call and have the police escort them out with or without charges filed depending on their attitude. That's Liberty for property owners and how it should be. You don't have a RIGHT to come to my restaurant. However, if there are enough people that like that type of restaurant and word gets around about how someone with a "gun" is treated, it creates a market for a gun friendly restaurant. Someone opens a restaurant right next door with the same amazing food and service, but they are also friendly and inviting to gun carrying patrons. And eventually my restaurant( the not gun friendly one), goes out of business or has much less business than the new one. This forces me to either accept a loss of profit while standing up for my beliefs, or to change my mind for the sake of money. That is Liberty and the free market. Tyranny is when someone in a position of power imposes their will on someone else, usually in government where they control critical functions, such as water supply, food production, waste management, entry into/ exit from the country, etc. Not always though, if I somehow had the only way of getting food in a place unable to farm then that would be tyranny but that's not the case in America.
