  3. Calm down, it's not a gun. She said it's my job to buy the weapons....that said, she provided something to carry them in! It's a Plano Tactical 108031 AW Extra Large Pistol Case. She got it for right at $75. Seems to be designed to turn 2 pistols in alternating fashion (2 on top layer and 2 on bottom layer). But I'm going to pick up another slim piece of foam and make one layer for magazines/accessories and the other for pistols. Well, that's where I'm at anyway. I only have a couple of pictures but it's just because I was excited to show it off. I'll take a few more detailed pictures when the girls aren't trying to go to sleep as the dogs bark because I'm up making noise. This thing is BIG! It has 4 heavy dual stage locking latches, two of which lock. They provide 2 keys of course. It also has padlock tabs for airline compliance. The o-ring seems pretty well made and of decent thickness. There are two pluck-able layers of high density foam, and they are about 2 inches thick each I believe. In the bottom of the case there is a smaller and thinner piece of removable foam that fits the section of the case that is of a smaller than OAD of the case. There is also a pressure relief valve in the back of the case wall. What I did may not be what everyone does, but I plucked out the size per pistol first. Then the piece I removed, I cut in half with my knife and re-inserted back into the hole. I did that to decrease the distance from the foam each pistol laid on and the one that pressed on the top of it when closing the lid. I doubt very seriously that a little bouncing in between foam would "hurt" anything, but it's what I thought would work better. I'm still in thinking mode about how I'll finish it off. I don't want to rush and then come up with a better plan next week. All in all it is a very nice case and I'm very happy with it. See? I told you I was excited!

  4. Nice!  Looks like it could hold 6 pistols easily, maybe 12 if you use layers.  Which means, of course, that since she bought you such a nice case, you're obligated to fill it up.  :)

  7. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/01/15/growing-number-police-chiefs-sheriffs-join-call-to-arms.html?intcmp=hpbt2   Published January 15, 2016 FoxNews.com It's Florida Sheriff Grady Judd's duty to protect the citizens of Polk County -- but he figures it's their job, too. One of a growing number of rural and big-city law enforcement officials who openly encourages responsible gun ownership, Judd believes guns allow citizens to defend themselves when police cannot. “If you are foolish enough to break into someone’s home, you can expect to be shot in Polk County,” Judd said in a statement after a homeowner shot a would-be home invader earlier this month. “It’s more important to have a gun in your hand than a cop on the phone." Such full-throated embrace of the Second Amendment as a crime-fighting tool isn't confined to red states like Florida. “I want as many law-abiding citizens to arm themselves in this county as we can get." - Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke One California police chief is backing teachers in his district packing heat. Detroit Police Chief James Craig has been a leader in urging his community to arm itself. A Maryland sheriff is working with the state’s general assembly to try to make it easier for citizens to obtain handgun permits. In the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence’s most recent ranking of states with the strongest gun laws, California (1), Maryland (4) and Michigan (15) ranked near the top of the pack. Some gun rights advocates say terror attacks at home and abroad have contributed to a change in attitudes about gun ownership among community members and authorities, even in locales historically hostile towards the Second Amendment. “That has helped play into it, and there’s no doubt the active shooter scenario has, too,” said Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation. “You’re seeing people say, ‘How do you respond?’”

  14. You might want to take a look at Powder Valley. Good prices and good people to deal with. You still have to pay hazmat fees, but their shipping charges are reasonable, and you avoid having to pay local sales tax.   http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/

  19. While out on my gun shop checks for the week I stumbled on a neat little 22 magnum. I never knew the single shot Ithacas existed until last month when a 22lr appeared in the classifieds of TGO. This one is missing all of the paint from the receiver and the lever, but it actually looks like it was supposed to have came that way. The wood is beautiful and the blue is neat with its patina. The best I can tell it is from about 1963. I can imagine the stories it could tell.

  22. Picked one up on the first on January, very quickly becoming a favorite pistol Has a strange decocker on top rear of slide and have to pull slide back 1/4inch to recock. Got to looking on their web site and saw a SA/DA model, ordered one from Grab A Gun Tuesday evening. Large pistol (full size) and has 18 round mags  so I have 37 rounds of 9mm on hand to carry. This pistol is becoming the one I like better than any I have owned and I have owned a few.

  23. Equal capacity, recoil, manual of arms as AR15. Better ballistics at 300m and in as AR. Gets really good ballistics over 300m and really starts to shine over 500m. Hits similar to .308 at distance but shoots much flatter. Simple barrel, mag, and bolt swap.

  29.   Granted I have no personal contact with a completed AR9 with Circle10 parts. I have read some online reviews, comments on the reviews, commentary here, and spoken with a couple of gunsmiths on the subject. It seems that the Circle 10 prodct is highly rated and of good quality, but there are instances of the BHO feature not operating in each and every one. I haven't seen any really nasty comments on it yet though. Maybe I haven't looked far enough.   So far, it seems the Circle 10 guys are working with each buyer to rectify problems. But that's just my very limited research and knowledge.   I can't say they work, as I don't have any yet. But on the basis of our online conversations, and KKing's commentary on the AR9 platform, I'm willing to try them out.   In fact I just ordered 2 17 and 2 32 round mags. I have AR9s to try them in, as well as the Glock pistols.   So, surely I can gut some use out of them.     If not, I can sell them to KKing! lol

  30. I've used a universal decapping die that doesn't sized the brass, but it's in a bench press. I'd be interested in a hand-held model and didn't even know they existed. Cool idea.

  31.     It's not as easy as a glock and there are more parts in a TP9, but it's not too bad either.  You have to remove the decocker, which is no big deal.  The plunger/extractor interface takes a bit of patience to get back together.  The sear block comes right out it's like a two sear system if that makes sense.  They are both contained within the block and I didn't remove them at all.  To polish the area where the trigger bar rides on the block, it was not necessary to remove them. Removing the striker spring takes more patience than a glock as well.  The spring retaining cups are really long, so you have to depress the spring quite a bit to get them out.     No special tools required.  I used a punch/hammer and a small flat head screwdriver.  I also used some needle nose pliers to remove the trigger return spring.

  32. In all honesty I believe that what is happening in Europe is what Obama had planned for America and he has fought hard to make it happen. He has one year left and I look for him to make an all out effort to try and get this done. We as Americans need to make sure it does not happen. WE THE PEOPLE are going to be the defining force that prevents it. We need to stay on our elected officials at every opportunity to make sure the 2nd Amendment remains a strong and protected right. I think most of us know that Hildebeast and Old Bernie must not get elected or the Supreme Court will fall for sure...................jmho

  35. What hurts me the most is that the police there are only holding batons and making weird stances with their arms. How are they even supposed to defend themselves? They're clearly overwhelmed and in some cases it looks like they're out numbered. It's unbelievable and sad to see a police force like that.

  36. I have a similar case that I use for my work demo equipment. Loaded to 50lbs it took over 100 airline flights for them to damage it and even then it was only the sliding handle. Awesome gift, enjoy with confidence that your weapons are protected!

  42.   The problem with that is that the TSA is more about security theater than it is about actual security.   I haven't been as safe on an airplane as I was on September 10, 2001 when I flew into New York and simply placed my Spyderco Rescue in the tray as i passed through the metal detector and picked it up on the other side. If they wanted real security on airplanes, they'd let the airlines do it themselves, price it accordingly and suffer market consequences for lapses.

  45. Tons of good 22 cans out there. Depends on budget. Pick a major manufacturer and go for it. Gemtech, AAC, Liberty, Silencerco, Dead Air(Mask would be my current pick), Griffin Armament, surefire, Sig and others. Same advice and budget applies to centerfire rifle cans. Also, if you're the least bit handy and have access to the right tools, file a form 1 and build them.
