  1. A large jet plane has crashed on a farm in the middle of rural Kentucky, feared to be Air Force One. Panic stricken, the local sheriffs department has mobilized and descended on the farm in force. By the time they got there, the aircraft was totally destroyed with only a burned hull left, smoldering in a tree line that bordered the farm.   The sheriff and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of anyone. They spotted the farmer plowing a field not too far away as if nothing had happened. They hurried over to the man’s tractor. “Hank,” the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath.   “Did you see this terrible accident happen?” “Yep. Sure did,” the farmer mumbled unconcerned, cutting off the tractor’s engine. Do you realize that is Air Force One, the airplane of the President of the United States?” “Yep.” “Were there any survivors?” “Nope. They’s all kilt straight out, “the farmer answered. “I done buried them all myself. Took me most of the morning.” “President Obama is dead?” the sheriff asked. “Well,” the farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor, “He kept a-saying he wasn’t, but you know how bad that sumbitch lies.”

AS I GROW OLDER               SINCE IT WAS SUCH A CRAPPY DAY I SAT IN MY RECLINER AND STARTED THINKING ABOUT LIFE AND CAME TO REALIZE THAT  AS I HAVE GROWN OLDER I'VE LEARNED THAT PLEASING EVERYONE IS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT PISSING EVERYONE OFF IS A PIECE OF CAKE.   CONDOMS DON'T GUARANTEE SAFE SEX ANYMORE, A FRIEND OF MINE WAS WEARING ONE WHEN HE WAS SHOT BY THE WOMAN'S HUSBAND.     LANCE ARMSTRONG….I THINK IT IS JUST TERRIBLE AND DISGUSTING HOW EVERYONE HAS TREATED LANCE ARMSTRONG, ESPECIALLY AFTER WHAT HE ACHIEVED, WINNING 7 TOUR DE FRANCE RACES, WHILE ON DRUGS. HELL, WHEN I WAS ON DRUGS, I COULDN'T EVEN FIND MY BIKE.    DRIVE BY….SOME ONE BROKE INTO MY HOUSE LAST WEEK. THEY DIDN'T TAKE MY TV, JUST THE REMOTE.  NOW THEY DRIVE BY AND CHANGE THE CHANNELS ON IT. THE SICK BASTARDS!!!     THE AGONY OF AGING….ON THE MORNING THAT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDED I STOPPED IN TO VISIT MY AGING FRIEND. HE WAS BUSY COVERING HIS PENIS WITH BLACK SHOE POLISH. I SAID TO HIM, "YOU BETTER GET YOUR HEARING CHECKED - YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO TURN YOUR CLOCK BACK".     VIDEO SCAM….JUST GOT SCAMMED OUT OF $25. 4. When one whittles a peice of wood, they don't cut all the material off in one chunk, nor do they cut even large peices; but instead small thin slices. Liberty can't be cut out at once but small parts, over time, peice by peice until we are left with.....nothing. Doesn't seem like squat to us in TN.

  5. Yep, because all bad guys have carry permits and won't go there if we make their permit invalid.     :shake:     Morons.

  6. After getting some advice from TGO members about pistols with full left hand controls, my Wife and I made a visit to a couple of lgs and looked at the FNS9C, M&P9C, and the P320 Compact. The winner was the Sig P320 with the M&P a close second. My Wife is hoping to save so we can pick it up sometime in January or February. What she doesn't know is that I have already planned on this. Business is good and we are Blessed to be in a very good time of our lives. There will be one more gift under the tree for Christmas morning. I'm safe posting this here for now because she hasn't started visiting TGO. I would expect that to change sometime soon. Thank you all for your advice and input. I hope that everyone has a Very Merry Christmas full of Blessings. Bob

  12. it wasn't hard to figure out who my secret santa was. the "man crate" of bbq items will certainly raise my game with the wife's family coming in this weekend. the pouch, pmags and vfg are awesome, but no one has been willing to let me try the iv out yet. will have to wait for the wife's family. the note is what gave away the identity though. this is a guy you want to party with. thanks santa!

  14. So they are limiting conceal carry reciprocity while they are still an open carry without a permit state? That's just silly.   I guess the next time work takes me up there I'll just air out my Glock rather than conceal something.

  25. You can be deemed okay to carry if you give them $100. I guess that's better than the $300 Illinois wants. Money can fix anything.

  29. Removing the disconnect is very simple. One pin pressed into the trigger. Pop it out and the disconnect is gone. For most of us, this makes the trigger much better and not worth going further. A full on trigger job is going to be expensive. Most smiths change the sear lever location, which means they drill a new hole and relocate the sear. Then they have to hand fit the sear, disconnect etc. It also necessitates a refinish. It is not possible to drop in sears and disconnects without a knowledgeable smiths watchful eye. Short of a full blown trigger job, I've found removing the mag disconnect and adding a Cylinder and Slide combat trigger (wider and better curve) feels as good as most of the smith trigger jobs I've felt. Both those enhancements you can do yourself. Sam Hoster is who I'd go with if you went the smith route.

  30. I'm glad it worked well for you my friend.   While I will modify, I like to think "enhance" the externals of my Glocks, I am always hesitant to run anything other than OEM internals.   I think your experiences just reinforced that for me. :pleased:

  33. Since we're ranting....   Why can't you get a truck with manual transmission anymore?  The only way to get one is to get an $80,000 diesel.   Quite a few are offered globally with a stick, but not in North America.

  34. That is a YHM Phantom M2. It's a .30 cal, not really intended for .22 but it works great. I am going to buy a dedicated .22 suppressor that can be taken apart and cleaned as .22 is so dirty. Sealed cans can fill up with lead and become less effective over time. So I don't shoot too much .22 through it. The process isn't hard, just have to be patient. I went through Mike @ Lawenforcementsales. He's a vendor here his shop is in Oak Ridge. He's on the hey between Kingston and Oak Ridge, very close to you. Send him a message and he'll be happy to talk to you about the process. Great guy

  35. Received my Ghost Edge connector this afternoon. Installed it in about 15 minutes. Trigger pin was hard to get out, Tried it left to right with no luck then switched right to left wiggling slide stop and finally pushed out. Installed trigger pin back right to left after aligning slide stop hole and others, pin pushed in easily and locked into place.   Trigger pull very smooth and weight of pull much reduced. Will take for a shooting session tomorrow if not raining, my range is outside.

  41.   as I recall when we had some done they cut it more than double thick (twice the board thickness, maybe three times) and we stored it like that to let it dry on out.   I don't know if that is standard practice or just the way we did it, but the guy that cut it into boards recommended it.   Basically we put down 2x4s,  put a thick board down, crossed it with more 2x4s, put another down, so it had air space around each board.  It was probably dry after one winter as we stored it near our wood stove.   I don't think it would dry this decade if you didn't at least cut it in half long ways

  42. It's several things together. All the options that make a truck appealing to the masses that don't need one just like the look are both expensive and heavy. All the modern safety features that are mandated by the government are both expensive and heavy. The government mandated efficiency levels, both emissions and fuel economy, are expensive to implement and meet. Not to mention the R&D to develop said systems. The options and safety features mentioned previously that add weight makes the vehicle less fuel efficient, they then have to do R&D to use either aerodynamics or the power train to reduce fuel consumption. Materials are also getting more and more expensive every day. The quality and quantity levels required from the manufacturer require state of the art facilities to produce the vehicles. You also have the fact that most if not all inside the US are Union on top of that making more money than they should be( yes I can say this because I have worked on the assembly line for a car manufacturer) It's a lot of things together, but mostly just blame the government, they are the root of all problems not money, lol

  43. My father has an affinity for them. I've shot several, an can say they are accurate to a fault.   They're just not my bag. For that kind of money, I want pretty. A #1 Ruger isn't much more expensive.   Not as refined, but much less expensive is H&R/NEF, or a CVA single shot.

  45. I have 2 frames and several barrels ranging from .223 - .45/70.  I gave up hunting deer with rifles about 15 years ago. Since I'm not as mad at deer as I used to be I thought I would give them  a little more of an advantage.  My first deer with a T/C was at 125 yards chambered in 6MM TCU and a 4X20 Leupold on top.  I've also used .35 Remington but I'm not a fan of recoil like I was in my younger years.  My go to caliber now is 7-30 Waters Super 14 with a muzzle break, mild recoil and it shoots very tight groups off a bench.  When I say tight groups I can maintain 1/2" groups and my best ever was a .155" 3 shot group at 100 yards.
