  1. The emotional attachment to an attacking dog is immaterial. Dog attacks, dog gets shot. True emotional attachment to a dog includes properly training and restraining it.

  4. I went in to look around with no intention on buying a gun. I saw a sign that said Clearance and had a list of long guns and hand guns. I spotted a freaking good deal. Service XD with gear in 357 sig for $277.98. I asked to see one and the employee handed me an xd and I did a quick feel and look and said I will take it. He sent me up front to pay the TICS. I came back and stood in line for about an hour. I was starting to get really mad at this point. It was finally my turn. I filled out all the paperwork and they went to get the gun to put in the serial number, and poof the gun was gone. The guy that originally helped me apparently just up and left because his shift was over. The poor employee that was helping me was frantically looking for it with no luck. To make the story shorter they never found the gun. The manager apologized like 30 times and ended up selling me a XD mod 2 in .40 for the price of the other gun. I walked out happy-ish with a mod 2 for 303otd and just went to the Springfield website and got my 2 free mags mag holster and soft case for free. Now all I need to do is get a 357 sig barrel and I will be happy. I will end up with the gun, 4 mags, 2 mag holsters, gun holster, speedloader, a hard and soft case and a storm lake 9mm barrel all for under $450 Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  8. I could throw a water bottle at some fat bastard coming through my window and it would knock him out. Fitting he killed a fat cat burglar with a .40 Sluggish&Wimpy - like fat man like caliber. Too bad it wasnt a 10mm it wouldve blown than heifer to bits and left his gristle in three different zip codes What I gather from this article is that cripples who cant drive bikes use 40s, and 40 is only effective against greasy overweight felchers. He also doesnt carry his self defense gun with a round chamber which is ALSO ironic because S&W also stands from Stupid and Weak Had he had a 10mm or at least a 45 it wouldve made him invulnerable to motorcycle accidents too. I bet he also drinks coors light.... Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

  10. Folks, you have to maintain control of your animals.  Plain and simple.  What was the guy supposed to do?  Wait until he was bitten to defend himself?  If the dog was charging and he had waited he could have been maimed for life or worse!   Any of you guys ever actually been attacked by a dog?  Well, I have.  Several times.  I worked for a gentleman who trained guard dogs back in the late 70s.  He trained dobermans and rottweilers.  On several occassions I was the "bad guy" and wore the pads while the dogs attacked me.  Let me tell you that it is a VERY VERY scary thing.    So no ...... I'm not going to take a chance on getting bit.  If your animal charges me and gets into my "space" he's a dead dog.  You can react afterwards as you see fit.  But if you attack me afterwards you may be seen as threatening my life and end up with the dog!

  16. The wife stopped by today.  She was gonna pick something I been after, waiting....waiting....waiting, she finally asked the guy behind the counter if this is where you check out.  He said I'll be right with you.  He WAS with another customer after all.  The other customer was 'shopping' and we all know that takes time because men in gun shop are ten times worse than a woman in a show store.  The customer was nice and said, I'm in no hurry, gesturing that he should ring up what she was buying, it would only take a second anyway.  Well, he didn't and she waited, and waited.  NOT the only guy behind the counter mind you.     Finally an older guy made his way across the shop and took care of her.    Maybe I'm making more out of it than I should but it should NOT take 20+++ minutes to buy anything that requires no paperwork.  Especially with multiple employees and more than one cash register.     Here's a bit of business advice for everyone, Paying customers should never wait in a line that doesn't exist.  If you're running a business, you're there to make money, not have a social gathering.  If you currently have more employees than customers on the floor, THERE IS NO WAITING IN LINE.

Then on the way to help a friend I hit the FATTEST and cutest squirrel ever. When I get to friends house she loads her dog into my car. She's I heat so she can't ride with the other two to the vet. She POOPED in my Sequoia. It took me 25 minutes to get it semi-breathable. This is the universe telling me to go home and hide isn't it?

  20. In addition to breaking or being lost, magazines can get banned.  Not sure if it'll ever happen again in this country at the federal level, but anything is possible.  If you want to pass on to your children the freedoms we enjoy now as shooters, a lifetime supply + is not a bad idea (I wish it were so easy though with ammunition).    With as cheap as AR and surplus AKM magazines have been the last couple years, you should have lots.

  25. The coolest part about my TGO secret Santa is actually the way I got my present. I was selling a pistol upper to MusicMan and went to meet up to make the exchange. We meet, swap money for upper, then this happens... MusicMan: Are you doing the secret Santa this year? Me: Yep MusicMan: Me too! Here's your present! So needless to say it was a very cool way to get my gift, and meet a TGO member all in one. All my gifts were in a Academy brand dry box that I've already put to good use by filling up with ammo. Inside were 2 folding knives (one pictured, the other is in the Jeep the wife drove tonight), a sling loop plate for a 870 (again, already installed and the wife loves it), 22lr ammo, .223 ammo, and 9mm ammo, some camo gloves, and the 20 gauge shell looking Chapstick you see pictured. I mean really, could a guy ask for anything more?! My picture is kind of lacking since I've already put the 223 and the 22lr out in their respective dry boxes and the other items are installed and being put to use already [emoji6]. What a great way to start the Christmas season, I can't say I'm thankful enough. I'm waiting on a couple more things to arrive to send off my present. I have to say I like giving as much, if not more, than receiving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  29. I've had some very good smoked turkey, but having a choice, I'd almost always choose a fried bird. I marinate mine over nice with a Creole Butter injection, and a Cajun dry rub under the skin. It's a lot of work, and sometimes a bit messy, but damn are they good.

I won't lie.  I wept.  The thought that society at large can conceptualize something other than being passive is very hopeful to me.     Apparently this video opened my eyes to the fact that I am afraid that my children will grow up in a soceity that bullies them into being totally passive about all things.     Show this video to your (age appropriate) family and friends.  You never know what discussion it might stir.   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/12/10/for-the-record-fighting-back/

  36. It's good to see that Selena Gomez has finally gotten around to becoming a sex object. I was concerned she might try to continue her success on talent alone, but it looks like she figured out how to diversify and transition to a sweet little commodity. Thank goodness too. I hate it when women achieve fame on merit alone. It suggests that they exist for a reason other than my sexual gratification. Keep up the good work, Selena. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  39. This study is junk. As of Nov 2014, there were 482,073 HCP holders in Tennessee. Source is here.  Today, the number is probably over 500,000.   How many handguns does each HCP holder own? Two? Three?   How many people own handguns, but don't have an HCP? Probably another half million or so.    The story says 73,000 registered handguns in Tennessee. If you buy a gun at a gun store, isn't it registered? The government has a form with the serial number and your name on it.    I'd bet the actual number of registered handguns is closer to one million... probably 2 million if you include unregistered handguns.
    2 points
  40. Obviously this was compiled or edited by a clueless non-firearms owner... in EVERY single case example they refer to the number of guns "registered". When was the last time any of you "registered" a non-NFA firearm in Tennessee? What's more, the per capita estimate sum of 73,320 for a population of 6,495,978 doesn't even make a drop in the bucket in parallel comparison with the almost 500,000 HCP holders in TN (which obviously doesn't include those "Fudds" that own long guns exclusively). Despite the fact that I am a product of a public school education, even my math isn't that bad.   Which tells me that this is more about the number of background checks per capita, not the number of guns.   Disingenuous, at best. Making up stuff is the 2nd favorite pastime of a liberal media-- right behind open antagonism of white conservatives. These idiots have no idea what they're talking about.

  42. No worries, I saw a pic of the guy and he was white. Now if he had been black or hispanic I would have called for riots and protested alligator abuse and racist alligators.   Anyway to those defending innocent burglars, the burglars who broke into my brothers home in the spring, the day before they stabbed and shot a man in Bellevue. They really had no idea if my brother was home or not since he keeps a second vehicle there so I believe that burglars are more than prepared to murder someone if they find someone in the home they invaded. I personally am not going to ask their intention nor ask for an ID to see if they are old enough to be shot. It is my plan to shoot anyone not welcome who forces their way into my home and find out later who they are. A burglar is a potential murderer as far as i'm concerned and i'm not going to gamble my life deciding if they "DESERVE" it or not. They certainly asked for it and it is also my plan not to let it bother me too much if I have to dispatch some thug home invader, he/she did it to themselves. I somehow doubt that anyone here at TGO is going to this thugs funeral and morn.    "Deserve ain't got nothing to do with it"  Clint Eastwood as William Munny: Unforgiven:

  44.   Well, unless he wrote in an actual criminal charge for you and me in the EO, there's nothing to be "upheld" in that regard.   Well, as far as that goes, TN has law that no state resources will be used to enforce federal gun laws or EOs that conflict with ours, so that might not be an issue at all. - OS

  47. Sarcasm doesn't translate well when you're trying to work while screwing around on the forum, sorry.   Most people fuss about trying to outlaw common things rather than LE doing their job. I'm one of them. I resent that a cheap and common over-the-counter drug is now relatively expensive, (must have a prescription for it in La Vergne now), and documented when I purchase it because criminals have figured out a way to misuse it. This also plays into the medical establishment since they charge the insurance and co-pays for the office visit/prescription. In this case buying a cell phone in-and-of itself is not suspicious: however, buying 60 for anyone, (regardless of color), would be. Although it isn't illegal it's certainly suspicious: therefore, the authorities should be made aware so that they can actually determine whether a crime is going to be committed or not.
