2. People think it's their right to drive slower than normal. What they need to be made to understand is, You DONT have a right to inconvenience others around you. Not keeping with the flow of traffic is just as deadly as some mad speedster. Doesn't matter what the actual speed is.

  3. You can pick your friend's but not your family. Their house their rules. Leave the gun in your car and enjoy their company. Life is too short to alienate your family.

  5.     it is your brother.  To steal a line from "Tombstone" you back your brother's play.   Talk to him and let him know you want to carry concealed when you visit.  If he is against it you back his play rather then him back your play.     I ask,  do you feel unsafe in his hood?  Do you really feel you will be invaded upon in his home?   Life is not always about the damn gun.

  7. Carrying a firearm on someone else's property is not a right, Constitutional or otherwise. It is a privilege extended to the guest by the property owner. This has been common law since the Magna Carta. As far as in laws go I would put it on him to be the bad guy. I would let him and her know that you carry to protect yourself AND them. Then tell them that if they insist that you still not carry in their house then tell that is not possible and that you prefer they come up your house instead.

  12.     i see you point Caster. Yours too Spots.  Gordon's post reminded me some points that make total sense.      I guess I am lucky in a way that none of my family forces me to make a decision about guns.  I disagree with some on other things, but If I have to be around them I can deal with what they want if I have to.   Ha,  I bet I am about the first person on this board to have their mind changed by points made by a few others!   You sure don't see that much around here.

  13. You've already answered your own question. How you choose to protect yourself and your family is no ones business but your own. If you're carrying concealed no one is the wiser. Me being me however, I would probably have to open carry around them just to watch their heads explode. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In March of 2013 the Department of Defense began awarding Purple Hearts for the most severe cases, as the disease left skid-marks all over the psyche of countless troops. The award highlighted the issue and kicked the search for a cure into high hear.

  18. It can be done by cutting the grip frame, drilling for the mainspring housing pin, replacing the mainspring housing, replacing the grip panels, buying smaller magazine's, but why since officer size 1911's are available. If it were me, I would sell the commander and buy an officer size 1911 or just keep the commander and buy an officer 1911.

  24. I suppose we part ways on this one Mike. I washed my hands of the majority of my "blood relatives" many moons ago. I had had enough of their narcissistic, deluded over inflated ego. To me, family ain't got squat to do with similar DNA markers and common blood types. If it DOES and I'm wrong, then piss on the paradigm of "family". Life is too short to be tormented over some silly sense of loyalty to a bloodline. How ridiculous is it to spend time with people you can't stand to be within 100 yards of, all for the respect of common ancestors? You earn your right to be family, it's not handed to you at birth. Not for me anyway.

  25. This year its Yukon Cornelius. The original OC guy that inspired millions of boys that would grow up to be men someday to OC or at least go CC. Story behind my avatar. Last night (11/27), me and my two younger boys 6 and 3, were watching our first Christmas movie of the 2015 season, which the kid in me loves Rudolph. Anyway, my 6 year old says Dad look, that man on tv has a gun like you do and he carrys it like you do. I like him daddy. So of all of things to see in the movie, my son eagle eyes Yukon's wheel gun. I'm surprised that the mom's group has not tried to ban this kids all time favorite.

  26. so If you had been there would it have made a difference?   It is not like he was shooting anyone else.   He shot someone who made him feel fucked over.  So a guy shoots someone,  are you gonna pull your piece and shoot a guy who blew a person away even though he threatened no one else?   there are always going to be nutbags.

  32. http://www.wsmv.com/story/30617736/slow-poke-law-would-ticket-tn-drivers-sitting-in-fast-lane   Ticket TN drivers sitting in the left lane... just TN drivers?  How about the Floridian that likes to hang out in the left lane doing 52 in a 70 with the left blinker on?  PLEASE tell me you'll finally pull them over!  And what about the camper-hauling Canadians that love to sit in the middle lane doing 55 making everyone pass on the left & right?  I think this lawmaker just wants his name on some legislation.  I agree this will just tie up the courts. :squint:

  33. I'm amazed people don't get pulled over as is when they impede traffic. Wouldn't driving well below the speed limit in the passing lane not warrant attention? Likely they're distracted or being overly cautious for some reason. Slowpoke law not needed IMO. Just more control for a problem that can be easily resolved.

  34. I know families that are so tight, you couldn't get a feeler gauge between them. To say I'm envious would be an understatement but I didn't get dealt that hand. I don't whine about it, I just chunk it back in the pot melt it down and cast me something I can actually use. If any of you DO have a family like that and you haven't told them what it means to you....shame on you. You should close out your browser and do it now.

  35. I hope it passes. It's not a drivers responsibility to slow down other drivers. If your not passing get out of the passing lane, all you're doing is making the flow of traffic worse and travel more dangerous by forcing people to pass on the right. And traveling to slow is just as dangerous as to fast. Sent from behind the anvil

  37. Guys,   Let me say something here, I honestley have one of the best jobs on this Earth and work for an Outstanding Company, they handled this great and if you all knew what I went through working in Africa with my previous companies, you would understand why this honestley did not scare me, I have been pulled over in a car in 2005 with my agent by a group of soldiers with a 10 year old with a Fully Auto AK47 aimed at my face, that my friends is Scary, I told my company, they said that is just the way it is     What just happened to me I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, my current company was NOT at fault for this just like I was NOT   I posted what I posted as I was pissed off at the World, please do not worry about me, I always work in safe countries these days, that was fluke incident that should never happen again,   I sincerely thank all of you for your concerns and if you want to show your support, Please buy yourself a TGO Pro Tech Magic knife, I assure you that you will love it!

  43. 1911s are really cool - not as hard to maintain or tune as I thought either (granted Im not some master Dan Wesson armorer). I have been really impressed with my wifes Ruger SR1911 - Can be had used for under $700, it is a really sweet shooter, snug fit, anazing trigger and nothing beats SS and wooden grips and its made in the USA Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

  44. I think a good quality 1911 would be awesome. If I have kids I already determined I'd like to pass down something like this Dan Wesson. This can be purchased for around $1,200.

  45. I am by no means an expert on firearms or ballistics, but best I figure it would suck pretty bad to get hit with any of them. If you're not a good shot, especially with someone swinging a hammer at your face and those sort of situations, then it's best to have the most rounds you can. If you're cool as a cucumber in the face of disaster, make the biggest holes you can and get creative shooting folks in the dick and such just to prove your point. The best argument I've seen for switching from 1 caliber to another is for uniformity in the household amongst multiple shooters to have a single caliber. That makes total sense to me, that or just satisfying the itch to buy more guns.

  46. Maybe you can strategically place a couple of these on your chair:  http://www.amazon.com/Tac-Mag-Gun-Magnet-25-Rating/dp/B00LR454YU You can place a cover over it to conceal it from view yet be able to retrieve it quite nicely.  You can possibly find a good spot for it where someone would have to really intrude on your personal space to get there hands on it.

  47. Would you ask them first if carrying a pocket knife into their house was OK?   Would you ask first if carrying a handkerchief into their house was OK?   Would you ask first if carrying a multi tool into their house was OK?   Would you ask first  if carrying your cell phone into their house was OK?   Would you ask first if carrying your wallet into their house was OK?   Would you ask first if carrying a Tourniquet into their house was OK?   The gun is no different than any of the other EDC items I carry around in everyday life. The gun would only ever even be an issue if you pulled it out, or if you told them about it........You are not there to commit crime so the fact that you have it has no effect on other people...unless you need to use it to defend yourself (and them) from a home invasion that happens while you are there.....in that case they'll probably be glad you had it.....   Having said that.....If you plan to be drinking then leaving it in the car would be the best course of action.
    1 point
  48. I would be drinking, so I would be leaving the gun at home. That is just me. If you don't drink, I would say carry if you want to carry. If they ask you not to ( if they were to happen to see it), take it to the car.
