  1. I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! For some of you that will mean being surrounded by friends and family. For others it may mean being surrounded by your brothers and sisters in the military, police, or civilian emergency services. And yet for others it may simply mean some time alone. If alone-time is what it means, I pray that it is because that's the way you want it. If not, I would encourage you to seek out company at the many churches and civic organizations who will be opening their doors to the public tomorrow for a warm meal and some time of fellowship. Do not spend it alone because you think no one cares. Reach out to me here if you have no one else to talk to and I'll be glad to give you a call or in the Nashville area I'd be glad to try to meet you for a cup of coffee somewhere. For those of you working this holiday to keep the rest of us safe and sound, God bless you! For everyone else, please be safe if your weekend includes travels or (God help you) venturing out into the retail jungle. Keep your eyes peeled, your sidearm close and your powder dry. No matter what it looks like these days, we still have much to be thankful for as a country.

  4. Or maybe one day we will go back to Raidcoin. After ISIS lets off a nuclear device on our soil that the CIA "lost" Which is me kicking in the door of a social justice warrior with my guns and taking his stuff. Hence Raidcoin... All fiat currency is an illusion that is transferred. The only stuff that retains value is bullets, toilet paper, water, tobacco, booze and cheap harlots. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

  8. I collect silver too, I also have about 10 Dogecoins which are worth an astounding $0.0001 or something right now. Diversify yo. Don't trust centralized monopoly money backed by promises of pretty nothings.

  9.   Digitial currency is magical internet money, so the dollar is magical physical money?   Try this, take your valuable dollars in to the bank, hand them to the teller and ask him/her "May I exchange these for what they are backed with?"   All fiat money is a joke, digital or otherwise.

  10. I would forego the email and send a proper letter to the Chief.  That in a personnel file would go a lot further for the officer in the long run....assuming that's were it would end up.

  13. The boss hooked us up today.  A Thanksgiving bottle.   I chose Mount Gay Eclipse Rum.  It is out of Barbados. A liter bottle. It's freaking awesome.  I have not had it in years.     Why did I wait so long?

  15.   Objects only have a value of what people put on them, money, cars, guns, houses etc. so the same could be said about everything that exists.   On the scale of worthless things, digital currency ranks lower on the board than government backed currency, so I'll stick with it :)  I collect silver, but realistically if the SHTF real bad, 5,000 oz of silver would be worth less than a potato.

  16. Do NOT buy any gift card, gift, etc. In most (if not all) departments, it is considered against SOP's to receive a gift in any manner. Same as accepting free meals. While this used to be the norm back in the day, in today's world it is considered a form of bribery. There may still be some dept's that allow it up to a certain monetary value, but those dept's are few and far between.   A simple thank you note to both the officer and his C.O. would suffice, and be welcomed.

  17. It might be that the officer may not want his nice gesture known to all his fellow officers so I would try and see a way to make gift card that he can use personally and just say Thank you for your kindness to so-n-so in a Christmas card. Wait until a time when he can be approached and hand it to him, say thanks and walk away. A Prepaid Visa Gift card might be nice in a card..............just my :2cents:

  20. Nikon M-223 3-12x42 scope at Cabelas for $130. Smoking deal for pretty good glass. I am not a Nikon fan but am still tempted to grab one.   http://www.cabelas.com/product/Nikon-M-Riflescope/753477.uts?avad=48247_c9f97512&WT.mc_id=al35987&Subid1=SID&subacctid=35987&subacctname=35987&adname=Custom+Link&adtype=cl&adid=NA&utm_medium=AFF&utm_source=48247&rid=12&WT.tsrc=AFF

  21. An attaboy to the boss along with a note of the thanks to your local paper, will do more than a free meal or gift.

  22. Why not send an email to his boss? I've done this before.   Typically they will read the email in front of all the other officers during roll call and recognize him/her.

  24. Had one walking the ridge behind us this morning about 7:30 in West TN.  We were not setup for a shot in that direction.  Nephew saw a doe walking another field about the same time.   No takers today....   -with a full moon (?) last night and a windy, bright sunny morning, I didn't expect to see anything.

  25. We are seeing some pre rut action in Bradley County. A little trailing and chasing going on! I think the temps are still a little too high, but the rut should be full effect the next few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  29. I suggest cooking it at around 225-250 if you can run your pit that low. Also, don't try to cook it till it's fall of the bone tender like pork, it will be very dry. We cook to 150 internal, then pull it to rest and let the temp rise to 160 or so. You have to slice it, but it's way tastier in my opinion. I haven't cooked much lamb, but I imagine that is very similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  30. I finally found a rail that I can make work with the XLP and uses the mil-spec barrel nut (with some clearancing around the gas block). https://troyind.com/products/mrf-7-blk Not as sexy as the high dollar Daniel Defense Lite II, but I'm tired of buying/being sold rails that don't work and searching endlessly, so I'm going with this. This rail pictured is off my Colt LE 6920 that has probably 1,000 rounds or more down the barrel, so it's nasty and a little beat on. But for test fit purposes, here it is. KX5 is not tightened up yet either... Going to order a new one for this gun and put this one back on the Colt.
