After a busy season of holiday orders I finally have pretty much everything completed and a reward for me is in store! 6 1/2 inches of beautiful distal taper with some decorative Jimping. The G 10 scales are absolutely beautiful with stainless steel pins. I think I'm deserving! What do you guys think?6 points

They don't even need to use Black Friday to get the intended results. Pick a random weekend in the first three weeks of December, and any place like Opry Mills is packed with slow moving, baggage laden targets practically herding themselves into kill zones within the stores.4 points

I pretty much have a decent life and have since my wife passed. Loved her to death but could not deal with her son (Stepson) at all. Major bum period. Stayed drunk most of the time. Once wife passed I threw him out along with dead beat wife. Have not spoke to them since funeral. Step daughter has been a great help to me but does not try to interfere in my life. My Son lives about 70 miles away and stays to busy working to even call but about 1 time a month. As for my neighbors, they tolerate me but don't say much to me over the 17+ years we have lived next to each other. I think a lot of that may have to do with I carry while around my house and out in my yard. I don't even know if they own a gun. Never asked, never thought it was any of my business. I have a few very close friends that stop in once in a while for coffee in the morning every couple days. I don't attend any family dinners like Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. That caused an issue back about 1998 after wife died because I got invited to both homes for Thanksgiving that year and because I did go to either they both got offended so have not been to either since. They don't even ask me any more. Both just show up with left overs for me to freeze and eat when I get ready. Kasey loves left over............ :rofl:4 points

Honestly, with 45 I wouldn’t worry about chamber support. It runs at literally about half the pressure of 9 and 40, and the case is generally thicker anyways, with a lot of support at the base of the case. I don't know that I've ever heard of a 45 KB under normal circumstances, and I doubt that a smidge more support would do anything if you royally screwed up enough to blow up a 45. Imho, buy more boolits with that money, not another barrel. :-)3 points

The universities can't afford to alienate their students, because the students represent revenue. Both in tuition, and as an overall number (attending or graduation rates by state) which determines how much aid they get from the state if they are a public school.3 points

No family problems but I sure would love to buy up 50+ acres and move the heck away from the burbs. I'd like to move my entire family out away from all the craziness. I work from home. All I need is an internet connection. Just can't be so remote that I can't have utilities! I could see a really nice berm on the property with an IDPA range.3 points

I pretty much look at it as what threats are we under all of a sudden that we haven't been under for almost two decades? It's just fresh in our minds after recent events. I'm going to continue my normal personal security measures, but I'm not letting the possibility of a random event happening around me dictate my life. I'll carry on (literally and metaphorically) react to contact as needed.3 points

A few years back - '09, I believe - my mom, nephew and I were at a public shooting range. One of the guns that they brought was my nephew's falling block .22 single shot rifle. They were plinking at some swinging steel targets out at 50 yards. Just on a lark, I started plinking at those steel targets with my Rough Rider with the WMR cylinder installed. I was surprised to find that I was hitting the steel at least as often as they were hitting with the rifle - and my mom is a pretty good shot. I was probably hitting the steel about four or five out of every six shots. I am guessing that the steel I was shooting at was about four or five inches across. We were the only people at the range at the time so, just to further the lark a bit more, I put up a paper target at 100 yards to see what the Heritage might do. I ended up firing a few cylinders full and attempting to 'dial in' my aim between cylinders by adjusting my POA, holdover and so on. I was using Winchester Super X WMR ammo which, I believe, is pretty much the same as the load which Winchester used to develop the first WMR guns. I didn't have a spotting scope so I was making the 100 yard trek between each cylinder full while trying to remember my POA from the previous cylinder full and making POA adjustments in my head . It was kinda warm that day and there was no breeze, whatsoever which probably helped shooting but meant I started getting tired of making that walk, especially as I had already been shooting rifles at that distance and had walked out and back several times before that. Anyhow, below is a picture of my results. I may have posted it on the forum, before, because I like it. The 'legend' in the corner gives some info and tells which color of ring (later edited in on my computer) corresponds with which cylinder. I consider myself a serviceable shooter. I was probably better then than I am now as ammo shortages, prices of rimfire ammo and so on have cut into my shooting time but I don't think I have ever been a stand-out shot. A better shooter would certainly have done impressive things. As it was, you can see that I really was 'dialing in' my aim and getting more/better hits with each cylinder full. Had I kept going I might have done even better but I was tired by this point. I didn't use a rest or support of any kind. All shots were fired with a two-handed grip in more or less a Weaver stance. My Rough Rider is the 6.5 inch barrel version so that will give some perspective as to the size of the target. Not bad for a gun that, when I bought it brand new, had a price tag (before tax, etc.) of $120 with both cylinders. Oh, and the target was hung on a thin piece of plywood which was there for the purpose. At 100 yards I could tell that the Super X rounds were fully penetrating the plywood because each shot was kicking up dust from the dirt berm which was roughly ten yards behind the target stand.3 points

The sad thing is, even though it has been proven to happen in a place like Chattanooga, there has been very little change in security at many places around here. I wrote my school board after the Chattanooga murders, and the chairman was still dismissive. Part of the problem is that a rational person would realize that there are two ways to increase the safety at soft targets like malls and concerts--implement rigorous, Israeli-type screening using metal detectors, pat downs, profiling, cameras, and heavily-armed guards, or allow each citizen to provide for their own protection by allowing the carrying of weapons. The former is too expensive, and the latter is too distasteful to many people. Instead they adopt an attitude of, "it hasn't happened yet, so it probably won't happen at all." I've gone through hypothetical scenarios in my mind that a terrorist might use, and the possibilities are wide. Many people focus on the large cities, which is logical, but Chattanooga, Garland, Ft. Hood, Newtown, and others show that sometimes the targets are just conveniently located to the killers. Why travel to New York when they could kill just as many kids at any local school?3 points

That's why I bought up the lots around my house, and the only neighbor I have did the same. There are just the two houses on the cul-de-sac and we each have a half interest in the lot that's between us. I didn't move to Tennessee to make friends or enemies, I moved here so people would leave me alone.3 points

Do you really think that our enemy would disclose how they got a bomb on a plane ? I say BS ! Would you place a picture of a B on the internet of your B ? I say the soda can B is BS ! That's what we are lead to believe , it was in another way I believe. Make us look for soda cans and it's something else. I'm not f'ing stupid. You may catch me off guard , but you'll never get me in a moment of stupidity.2 points

I liked the judges remarks at the trial. At sentencing, Jared was crying about how his wife and kids would never be able to get over the situation. The judge told him, you gave your wife 7 million in the divorce, she'll be fine.2 points

Sure, they are ignorant terrorists. They are thumbing their noses at the Russians; that will cost them their lives. They are just showing that a bomb could be in anything; we already know that. Unless they are falsely claiming the take down of that plane (nothing to suggest that); I see no reason not to believe it was a soda can.2 points

I thought that a bit strange as well. Maybe "clock boy" is building soda can bombs for them and wants us to know he can do something else.2 points

Your camera angles make it look longer than it really is. Looks like it's long enough if you miss the shot you could stretch out and bonk 'em on the head. LOL! Looks great. Expecting range report soon.2 points

You avoid this situation by minding your own. You and yours. Sound selfish? Ohh well. My gun's for me and my wife. Everyone else gets a 911 call as I'm redlining the engine in the opposite direction. As with everything in life, that's not set in stone and decisions will be made on a case by case basis as they present themselves. Just a general rule of thumb.2 points

Family is defined a lot differently by a lot of people. Due to just not having time or energy to deal with the craziness I don't talk to mine. I know that sounds harsh but I have only had 1 cousin visit me at the new house. No one knows my address except for a cousin and her parents and I like it that way. If you can get past the emotional pain of cutting someone off life becomes easier and less dramatic. Which I like. Granted there are two family members a lot closer I wish I could tell how I feel but they aren't mine and it would hurt a woman I love. My MIL. So I grin, bite my tongue and have a scorching case of TMJ. I'm still working on that one....2 points

I understood about 20 words from that, and three of them were Ashley Madison and porn. I hate to think what that says about me.2 points

Anons started at the advent of internet forums - namely 4Chan and 7Chan and those cryptic places. Back then TOR tech was rudimentary and that was considered the "darknet" because of all the kiddie porn and bestiality and snuff films. So some Anons are born from the dudes who helped secure that stuff by VPN tunnels, IP spoofing, DDOS attacks (Ping of Death) and others came from the guys who combat it Anonymous is a nebulous, mostly mediocre collective of basement dwelling felchers - they all practice cyber anarchy and pretty much think SQL Injection, ARP Cache and DDOS/MITM attacks are a form of boycott. Most of them are just "script kiddies" mostly Indian and American teens who frequent 7Chan and wear Guy Fawkes masks and use rudimentary programs like LOIC and WiFite to DDOS people and they get smashed by the Feds. They do have a hate for anyone - its like anarchy-lite; bunch of felchers who are "against the man" Most of the good groups - and I mean skilled - are the guys who made the POD, Stuxnet, Wormware, took down Dark Net pedo places, took down Ashley Madison... Its okay to take on someone in the Cyber Domain but ISPs dont kill people - people kill people. They arent SIGINT dudes running around with King Fishers and Sting Rays or doing VOIP taps - they just DDOS people and fap to horse porn and think they did a good job Losers. I can say this with a clear mind. I have never carried a self defense firearm without a hot tube, full magazine with back up magazines on my person neither in the military or in civilian life and never will. If I ever have to defend myself I will be sending hot lead at my target, center mass if at all possible. I promise I will not be shooting at arms and legs unless that is all I can see of my target...........jmho2 points
