...In just a little over 6 months. Now that family and all know, I had to announce it here. I'm just a tad proud, ya see. I am a bit nervous, admittedly, but it's more wanting to be the best dad I can than anything. Here's the announcement my wife and I sent out. I think my new gun angle is everything has to be SBR'd...you know, so the kid can handle them easier! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk8 points

90 days are over with. I got a 10% raise on Friday. I was rather stoked. We are hitting all of our growth targets as previously established. In addition I have cut the percentage of error from 3% to less than 1% on all entered work orders. And I have also become the go to guy for pricing guns. Nearly everyone in the company is an outdoorsman. And apparently last year, they gave a rifle away at the Christmas party. So I am pretty confident that I am where I belong. I am in a private company where I can talk one on one with the owner, who I report directly to, I get constant confirmation that I am doing a good job, and everyone else enjoys the same hobbies as I do. Oh, and I am making more than I was at DPSG, by a large percentage.3 points

I finally got a weekend off after 7 straight 7 day weeks at work. I took the wife and hook up with my MC brothers and we did our annual USMC birthday party and Veterans day celebration and I got a mini vacation with my wife. You guys have a beautiful city and Beale Street is amazing. All the Patched brothers The cake, talking to some boot Marines after their ball, me and my sweetheart Sent from behind the anvil2 points

The CZ is an American which means it should have a 3/8 dovetail. What you show there are weaver/picatinny bases. I would get some JP 3/8 adapters. They are Delrin and slide on the receiver and then allow you to install the rings without marring the receiver. I will get you a link shortly. https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/product_info.php?cPath=10&products_id=2472 points

Folks... This aint about a better caliber, nor a better pistol, nor better performance; it's about spendin mine and your money for stuff these folks don't need... This is crony capitalism (...really crony fascism...) at work... When a large gubmt bureaucracy makes a change, somebody gets paid... Think about it...A new pistola... Somebody get's paid... New ammo...Somebody gets paid... All major calibers are very effective in the hands of thoroughly trained and determined gunmen (...and women...)... This is about spendin money with the right folks and payin off the right "insiders"...It's payola for the patrician class of bureaucrats... Somethin to think about... It's endemic to both parties.. It will be almost impossible to fix... sneerin leroy2 points

Not really hard to understand, I used the word manufacturer. Glock shipping parts in here and assembling them isn’t manufacturing, Sig I don’t know about, I’ve never had the desire to buy one so I haven’t checked, Beretta does manufacture guns here, they have Machinists, Gunsmith’s and Machines here. However they are an Italian company and don’t really have anything I am interested in owning. They are helping the economy in Tennessee and if they made something here I was interested in I could justify it. But what are they going to make I can’t get from S&W or Ruger? I make no apologies for buying from companies that support American manufacturing. All the financial experts for years have said if our manufacturing base doesn’t recover; we are doomed financially. I expect the Politicians I vote for to have ideas that will help our economy. The least I can do is to do my part when I can. I can’t buy everything American Made, my computers, TV’s and Cameras are foreign made. But my guns are Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Kahr, Remington and Mossberg; these companies can supply me with the finest guns in the world; I have no need for foreign made guns. Our Politicians in Washington are making all this noise about helping American manufacturing; and it’s all BS if they buy guns from foreign manufacturers and take jobs away from American when we make a better product here. America companies make the best guns in the world and it should be a crime for the government to turn their backs on them.2 points

At one time I was picking up project guns all the time. 4 kids later I have more project guns than I need. I was cleaning up my gun areas and came across the Grendal p12 I picked up from a guy who fully stripped the gun down and could not reassemble it. I picked it up for $30 figuring the 2 mags it came with would fetch more than I paid. It has haunted me for 3 years, I decided 1 more try and I would just part it out. I began with the same results I have been getting everytime before. Then I had some ideas and tried them out. After using the mag a dime and a penny nail I was able to get that freaking thing together. I racked it and pulled the trigger, click, it functions. All that is left is a live fire test. I can't belive it went back together. Here is a pic of my free gun. $30 for gun and 2 mags. Sold 1 mag for $35. After I buy paint to recoat I should only be out my time. So last night I had to stop and get gas in the Franklin area right off of Interstate 65 at the Marathon gas station in front of Publix off of HWY 96 "if you know where that is". I pulled up and noticed a hispanic male sitting next to the garbage dumpsters to the right of the building...looked pretty out of place so I made sure to keep an eye on him while I was pumping gas. My windows are really really dark on my truck so I can use it to my advantage when I'm on the other side of the vehicle. I can kind of use it as a shield in a way if that makes sense...I acted completely oblivious and I was even whistling a song while I was standing with my back to the drivers side of my truck while pumping gas and I did that on purpose. I was using the reflections of the pump to watch what was going on behind me. Then it got fun... The guy I was watching left where he was sitting, snuck around some pumps, and hid behind the pump that was directly behind my back probably about 10-12 feet from the passenger side of my truck...he was rounding the corner coming towards the tailgate my truck when I turned around and made eye contact with him and he went running back towards the store. I did call the Franklin Police Department and report him for being suspicious for obvious reasons...I didn't see signs of a gun or knife but thats the first time I've had somebody actually try to sneak up on me before like that. I was pretty mad about it when I got home and stayed upset through most of the night honestly. My wife actually said something that kind of made me feel a little better about it. She said something to the effect that be glad it was you and not somebody else because you usually pay attention to stuff like that when others don't. So that helped a little, but I'm still upset it happened obviously. Just thought I would share my story...always be aware of whats going on around you my friends.1 point

Here is some info that may help: http://www.mtas.tennessee.edu/KnowledgeBase.nsf/59a744563d09d561852574590055cdfc/78cbbcc38eff4e4b85257e960066dc4d/$FILE/Survey%20Results%20-%20Physical%20Agility%20Testing.pdf Mt. Juliet apparently tests all public safety periodically. May be able to call HR there and request policy copies. Also, here are some jurisdictions across the country. http://www.mtas.tennessee.edu/Knowledgebase.nsf/0/AC14C0A8CEB3AC488525773D00664D50/$FILE/09_07_10_FITNESS_TESTING_%20SURVEY_IPMALISTSERV_2010.pdf I know White House also has PD test annually on their obstacle course. May want to request a policy copy there, too.1 point

My comment about shooting the leg was in deference to shooting into the ground which would not stop any serious threat.. Apparent the shooter did not want to/couldn't shoot center mass. Reminds me of the lady that told me she wanted a pretty gun that would scare someone because she couldn't hurt anyone. Told her to get a baseball bat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Called a pelvic shot. If done properly, splits the pelvis and instantly terminates use of the legs. Often occurs when the target isn't the pelvis but in the same area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

OK I admit it. I am an Adele fan. Lyrics, vocal presentation, and her back singers and band just floor me. I mean, what's not to like...strong vocals and tales of love gone wrong. Doesn't get better than this. Waiting for the new album to release.1 point

I have a new one, though want to wait before commenting on comfort. They make a point of telling you that the holster has to be broken in which I haven't done. Right now it isn't comfortable, but then neither is a pair of leather footwear until it gets broken in. The draw is nice. It pops up and presents the gun very nicely. Also, you can wear a shirt that is completely tucked in. I work around a lot of folks in a dressy / business casual environment where a collared shirt that is tucked in is the norm. The folks who make it are a small company that is very customer focused. All emails have been promptly returned. They ask for customer feedback and take it into account. For example, the first model had their logo stamped on the part that shows. I told them I wanted anonymity in carrying. They got back and said they are about to launch a line that has them without the logo and they provided one to me with no logo. Also, I'm left handed and it works like a charm from that perspective.1 point

I know we have to do our yearly deal involving a run, spint, pushups, and situps. Don't think it set out in policy as much as the man says it is so. I'll do some checking tomorrow when I get back on my departmental computer to see if it that is in a genral order or just a general order about fitness for duty.1 point

Well, I found an old metal broom handle, it's pretty tough, Then you can see what I used for a handle. I shaped and forced 6" of hammer handle down the tube, the rest of the tube I forced schedual 40 1/2" PVC for extra strength and bolted both in. I'm going to get some skinnier bolts and nuts and wrap the whole cane in leather, handle and tube. May be a little obvious what the cane is intended for. :) 1 point

Seems obvious to me the local DA conceded that he was justified in firing the shot, or would have indeed charged him with a state charge. I can't explain the chicken :poop: local charge, except that it seems to indicate that the DA wanted to charge him with whatever he could and that's the best he could cough up. Then again, this may have just been the police chief's initial charge or something that same night, no idea how this stuff works on that local level. Perhaps this charge will be dropped, perhaps a state charge will still be applied, who knows? But it's fairly moot, since the aggressor was charged with aggravated assault, which by definition not only entails behavior that "intentionally or knowingly causes another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury" but also included "use or display of a deadly weapon" -- so if that charge remains, seems that alone could be seen as justification for deadly force on the part of the defender, even though I contend he did not use deadly force, as it simply doesn't rise to the definition of such. Read the legal definition of deadly force in Tennessee law again. C'mon, police departments are uber conscious of liability, and that's the main reason for that. - OS1 point

I had no choice but to use my credit card through paypal. Paypal does not have any of my banking info any longer and the credit card I had registered with them is no more. I'd prefer to use my credit card without involving paypal on principle mostly, but I only do it if it is something I feel is important.1 point

So does this mean they will be releasing some of the 92 bazillion rounds of 40 call ammo they bought last year? It's surplus now, so we should be able to pick it up cheap. Right?1 point

Glad he did it. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing, although I may have let them tire themselves out some more. I probably also would have used a sawzall if I had easy access to one. They weren't going anywhere quick.1 point

Yes, if you know someone is following you go to the local police station or drive around and call the police. Do not take the crazy home with you.1 point
-
Yep, anyone in this circumstance should be in reasonable fear for their life. If someone follows you home, then comes at you on your property with a bat, chances are he isn't there because he wants to toss the baseball around. If the aggressor wasn't deterred after the victim pulled out a handgun, the next reasonable step would be shooting him. Understanding that most people would do anything to avoid killing another human being, firing a warning shot into the ground would be the next "reasonable" step to avoid taking someone's life. Whoever is responsible for recommending charges and filing them is an idiot. Cases like this only encourage people to kill in self defense when a completely acceptable option to avoid that exists. I'm assuming the guy with the bat didn't take the victim seriously until he fired the shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I'll go with this. My uncle was involved in an SD shoot back in the '90s. Similar situation, where the guy followed him home, only it was late at night and the bad guy attempted to run him off the road several times (mistaken identity). After the third attempt to run him off the road, my uncle put his pistol out the window and fired several warning shots into the engine block (this is out in the country, dirt road). The pursuit continued until my uncle reached his property. Bad guy follows him onto property, gets out of his truck and proceeds to yell at my uncle that he's going to kill him. My uncle answers his remarks by shooting him three times. Bad guy makes it back to the truck and is able to drive his drunk ass to a hospital. Uncle calls Sheriff's Department, they put two and two together, conduct their investigation and recommend no charges for my uncle, and several charges for bad guy. DA gets ahold of it, does not pursue any charges against the bad guy, proceeds to charge my uncle with unlawful discharge of a firearm. Charges were eventually dropped after MADD got ahold of this. Bad guy had a BAC three times the legal limit when he made it to the hospital, admitted to driving and the trespass. This is the danger of liberal Yankee DAs who hates people who defend themselves. Should have driven to the police station. I have no issues with him firing warning shots, or even killing this lunatic with the bat, but don't drive back to your house. You don't want someone like that to know where you live. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am the Dispatch Manager and Software Integration Specialist for Dauenhauer Plumbing. The largest privately owned plumbing company in the state of Kentucky. I accepted the position this morning. It is a raise, and a promotion from where I was. It is a more relaxed atmosphere and I will be instrumental in big changes at the company. I will be helping select the new software and phone system, participating in the construction and layout of a new building for my department and then training my department in the best way to do the job. After that I will be on the continuous lookout for new software and technological advances to keep my company on the cutting edge of the plumbing industry as technology leaders. The statement was "We knew where we needed to be, we had no idea how to get there, then you walked in the door as the solution to everything we needed.1 point

The question I would have is whether management knew of any of the other sales as a part of their investigation where the person was not fired today as a result. Consistency matters in Human Resources - especially when it comes to terminations. If it turns out they were selective, I might be inclined to discuss it with counsel.1 point
