So last night I had to stop and get gas in the Franklin area right off of Interstate 65 at the Marathon gas station in front of Publix off of HWY 96 "if you know where that is". I pulled up and noticed a hispanic male sitting next to the garbage dumpsters to the right of the building...looked pretty out of place so I made sure to keep an eye on him while I was pumping gas. My windows are really really dark on my truck so I can use it to my advantage when I'm on the other side of the vehicle. I can kind of use it as a shield in a way if that makes sense...I acted completely oblivious and I was even whistling a song while I was standing with my back to the drivers side of my truck while pumping gas and I did that on purpose. I was using the reflections of the pump to watch what was going on behind me. Then it got fun... The guy I was watching left where he was sitting, snuck around some pumps, and hid behind the pump that was directly behind my back probably about 10-12 feet from the passenger side of my truck...he was rounding the corner coming towards the tailgate my truck when I turned around and made eye contact with him and he went running back towards the store. I did call the Franklin Police Department and report him for being suspicious for obvious reasons...I didn't see signs of a gun or knife but thats the first time I've had somebody actually try to sneak up on me before like that. I was pretty mad about it when I got home and stayed upset through most of the night honestly. My wife actually said something that kind of made me feel a little better about it. She said something to the effect that be glad it was you and not somebody else because you usually pay attention to stuff like that when others don't. So that helped a little, but I'm still upset it happened obviously. Just thought I would share my story...always be aware of whats going on around you my friends.3 points

This may not make most peoples list, but I have a Ruger addiction and like large bore calibers. I have been looking for a Ruger No. 1 in 45-70 for some time now, but have not been able to find one locally or at a price I was willing to pay. Yesterday I found one that met both criteria that was in great shape. I have never shot a No. 1, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it has one of the best triggers I have felt. I am suspicious that it has had some trigger work done, as there is no creep and is very light. It has Ruger rings, but I am not sure what I am going to mount on it. I have an older Leupold VX-3 1.5 by 5 that would work well, but it am seriously considering getting a peep sight of some kind. Any suggestions in this area would be helpful. I am going to have to sell some other firearms to pay for this per the agreement with the wife, but I couldn't be happier. That is fuzz on the checkering from the gun case I brought it home in.3 points

Tested the AK Pistol with flash hider off. It was so fun, my wife asked me to not put it back on. Lol With the Manticore flash hider you recommended, it eliminated the flash. I was shocked how well it worked! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

You need to find some Slap Ya Mama and give that a shot instead of Tony's. Its way less salty and tastes a lot better. It has slowly taken over as the #1 seasoning out of Louisiana over the last couple of years. Its great stuff.2 points

I've already said it would be a really cheap shot to let Glenn get out of this one alive, so the author agrees with me. :) Would harken back to the chintzy cliffhanger days of the many serials where the hero or damsel faces certain doom at the end of each episode but always prevails. The writers have thus far never resorted to this or any miracle deus ex machina type stuff to save a favorite, so I really don't expect them to start now. But of course, I've been wrong 2 or 3 times in my life. ;) ;) - OS2 points

Absolutely incorrect. Sorry but Dot 3 / Dot 4 brake fluid is hygroscopic, it will readily absorb moisture from the air. If it's been in your car for two years or more it's often absorbed enough water to drastically reduce it's boiling point causing a spongy pedal after prolonged braking and promoting the rusting of brake components from within. Drive a car capable of boiling the fluid hard enough and you"ll change your tune after experiencing the pedal fade away when you need brakes the most. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/10/26/packing-at-lunch-restaurant-robbery-triggers-discount-for-gun-owners/?intcmp=hpbt4 Published October 26, 2015 | FoxNews.com Art Bouvier is giving the next person who tries to rob his Indianapolis Cajun-style eatery something to think about - by dangling a 25 percent discount for pistol-packing patrons. After a man claiming to have a gun robbed Papa Roux Saturday night, the New Orleans native announced that customers with a valid a concealed handgun permit will get a quarter off their tab. Bouvier told FoxNews.com he hopes it will send a strong signal that it's a bad idea to pull a gun with bad intentions in his restaurant. "I just want the criminals to wonder whether customers have a gun," Bouvier said. "I don’t want a shootout but I also don't want people coming in here thinking I have a given them leverage over my employees and customers." Bouvier 46, cooked up the plan after a man walked into the restaurant and told the cashier he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect -- who is still being sought -- made off with cash from a tip jar and no one was hurt. Bouvier said a customer approached him shortly after the hold-up and said he had a gun and was prepared to use it if things got out of hand. But Bouvier, who already offers a 50 percent discount to police officers, noted that no one knew there was a law-abiding gun owner in the restaurant when the robbery occurred. That got him thinking. "What if criminals recognize my restaurant as a place where legal and responsible gun owners come to dine?" he said. "They would think twice about what they're doing. "I don't care if they bring in a gun or not," Bouvier said of his customers. "The 25 percent discount is simply for showing you have a carry license, meaning you have a clean criminal record." Bouvier first made the announcement Sunday in a Facebook post that has since gone viral. "If thugs are going to come in and threaten OUR extended family with guns, you'd better believe I will use every trick I know to protect our family," he wrote. Loyal customers left messages of support for Bouvier and his response to the robbery. "Exercising my 2nd Amendment Right and Eating the best Cajun grub north of Lake Pontchartrain!" wrote customer Brian Alvey. "Love Art Bouvier's reaction to being robbed!" wrote another. "Just an honest man trying to keep his business and customers safe while they dine, and I think it's awesome! Indy, we need to take back our streets/homes/businesses from these punks!" But not all customers are happy about the discount, according to Bouvier, who said he's received a few angry phone calls from people. "Some have called saying, 'You've lost a customer,'" said Bouvier. "Are you telling me you're more comfortable with a thug in line with a gun than a dining room full of people with no criminal record and a legal license to carry a gun?" asked Bouvier, a self-described libertarian. When asked for their opinion on the matter, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in an e-mail Monday, "It is not against the law to carry a handgun with a permit and for a business to offer a discount. The department encourages responsible gun ownership." Bouvier added he's not concerned about what his insurance company might think of the discount, saying, "I’m simply recognizing a legal document." He said his message to would-be diners is simple: "Are you legal? Let me know." "I want to reward the fact that my customers are that type of citizen," he said. Bouvier opened Papa Roux eight years ago with great success. Diners pack the restaurant at lunch time, ordering from a variety of Cajun-style items -- with the hand-breaded catfish po' boy in greatest demand. The eatery is also a longtime favorite among local police officers, who receive a discount each time they order. "Police always have a 50 percent discount here, so I already told them they can't stack the discount," Bouvier quipped.1 point

I'm gonna be a 3rd for Burger Republic. We also go there when we come back to Nashville. Buy the Farm burger is out of this world and their Mac n Cheese is probably my favorite. They have excellent nachos too, just always ask for extra jalapeños. I used to love Martins when they first started but it's kinda like Yazoo, they bigger they got, the more it seemed it changed. But I'm not a big BBQ person so I'm also a bit biased. Sushi Me is excellent though! ;-) just sit and the bar for the best service. Jin, the owner is awesome.1 point

I will try to get a few pictures of my 7.5" AK. I have Tula, Wolf and a few other brands to shoot. I will says the concussion is what I would call substantial and the flash is monstrous. Definitely not fun to shoot without foam ear plugs AND muffs.1 point

Goes to show Burgers are subjective. I am not a big fan of Buganut's burgers. I like Drake's burgers and believe it or not, one of the best and most consistent burgers I have had is at Famous Daves. They have one where they mix burger and brisket together before grilling. It is excellent.1 point

No, not my first sheath. I've mostly done holsters, so my sheath making skills need some honing. I did sew in a welt. The elastic idea is interesting. I have some shock cord so I will have to give that a try. I'd be surprised if the rivet worked itself loose, but I hear your point.1 point

Gee...you guys almost make me feel not so much like an idiot. lol Back in my youth, many decades ago. I was watching Dad go thru his reloading processes. He asked me to clean up and sweep around the bench when he was done. I diligently cleaned everything around, and off the floor, took it out to the trash barrel behind the house where we burned all the trash. (You old farts remember doing this don't you? You know, the days when trash pick up wasn't a paid service.) I just dumped everything in the barrel and forgot all about it...until the next day while burning trash. I was told to always stand close by with water in case the fire got out of the barrel. Ok...stop laughing at me. I lit the paper and stood a bout a yard away with the hose. Heard some hissing and popping sounds. Hmm. I wonder what that is? As I walked over to look in, the loose powder and primers I'd swept up went off. I had a hard time that summer with no eyebrows.1 point

I don't understand the fears of modifications, etc for carry handguns. Why aren't the following ever worried about? Why did you purchase and carry a $1200 handgun. Was it because it would help you kill more efficiently? Why were you a member of your local range? Was it so you could practice killing people more efficiently? Why did you carry a Glock? Was it because you wanted to play being a cop? Why did you carry more than one round in your gun? Were you planning on shooting more than one person? Why do you have a flashlight on your gun? Is it so you can blind the people, giving you the upper hand while you murder them, I mean, worrying about a conversion barrel giving you trouble? Sheesh. The only thing you need to worry about in terms of a conversion barrel is if it operates reliably. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Close it's a 2014 458 Italia Speciale in "Rosso Coburn" a one off color ordered through the taylor made program in Maranello. It's an amazing color to watch as the light conditions change. Pictures don't do that car justice. Here's one from it out in the sun at Cars and Coffee .1 point

So are most of us. The guy was then in a shootout with cops in Kentucky and escaped. No one was shot in Kentucky, the Algood Officer has been released and is in good condition. Sounds like this guy has made the decision he won’t he taken alive. Hopefully the next cop that stops him knows who he is.1 point

Just an update. The technician said that all four tires were a good bit out of balance. After getting the balancing done it rides MUCH better now with none of the "feedback" I was getting before. About as well as a 3/4 ton can ride. Just a little funny for Caster. As I was sitting in there waiting I heard a guy come in and ask for a 10 ply tire. :)1 point

The wife is supposed to give birth around Dec 10th (first kid, hard to nail down the date) so a lot of stuff will be going towards the baby. Thanks folks. The price I am paying for the gun and ammo is fair to both parties and allows me to have this for a while to satisfy my curiosity and then trade or sell it later without too much buyer's remorse. I like to try out nicely crafted firearm handgun machinery just for the fun of it if I can afford it.1 point
