See there, Gordon. Start a "be nice" thread, and now there's fixin' to be an ass whippin'. :rofl:8 points

I believe this is what this thread is addressing. It is the veiled insults and passive aggressive comments, such as your suggestion that I (or people who disagree with you) don't love the Constitution of the United States. It leads to people like me, who are far more direct, calling people like you out for your childish insinuation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

A lot of what Dolo and the other keepers of the house are addressing is covered in the sites rules of conduct. We all agree to abide by them when we join and post. Big boy rules and all that. Bottom line, if dissenting opinions offend you, or will cause you to be less than neighborly, Political and General chat may not be your ball of wax.5 points

Cure for all that mess is a simple credit card. Not only is it free, and they'll even pay you to use it. I get couple hundred bucks kickback a year, and used to get a lot more when I used it for work. And perfectly safe, not responsible for one dime if hacked. Credit cards are da bomb .. as long as you don't use them as a loan. :) - OS5 points

We had our first "cold" snap and it has already started. As I am sure everyone has seen this, the winter months tend to shorten men's fuses when we cannot get out as much. And when our fuses get shorter our responses get longer and sometimes we say things with the intent of hurting our fellow members. Remember, we are a large family but a family none the less and that we all came here because of common ground. Every single one of us has something in common with everyone else here so lets try to find a little more common ground rather than try to figure out our differences. And in doing so lets try to be a little more tolerant of our fellow members. Right now we, as Americans and gun owners, are in some very stressful times so now is the time to support one another if for nothing else than to help ourselves make it through the times we are in. We MUST come together for the good of us all and that is just not possible when we are bickering among ourselves. How can we all stand united, as Americans and gun owners, when we are trying to find the differences? So I ask for anyone involved in a heated discussion to step away from your computer for a few minutes and then reread your post before hitting submit. It might save the edit to fix that misspelled word you missed the first time as well as hopefully preventing someone from posting something they might regret. Thanks4 points

That's not what this is at all. You're the only one here getting your feelings hurt. You can't seem to differentiate between conflicting opinions and grown up behavior. Grown ups can disagree without hurling insults; children cannot. You are acting like a child. Not just with the passive aggressive insults, but also by attempting to change the conversation about what the corrective action is addressing. Very clearly, it's addressing inappropriate comments, not opinions or lack of political correctness. By all means, if you can't speak like a grown up, stay out of debates where opinions may widely differ, but don't try to play the martyr as if you're being attacked for your beliefs. No one here buys that except for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

Apparently Fireclean is nothing more than Crisco brand vegetable oil that costs like $10 a gallon. The testers used infrared spectroscopy to compare FireClean to various vegetable oils and they found a match. I knew it was BS when they claimed that when using Fireclean your gun will be smokier because the formulation used caused the crud to remain as smoke and not get deposited in the gun. I am searching but apparently Fireclean was issued a patent for the use of vegetable oil as a firearm lubricant as well. If any of this is true a lot of shooters are going to view this company in a whole different light. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/09/13/yes-its-true-fireclean-is-crisco/ And another article regarding the actual testing. http://www.vuurwapenblog.com/general-opinion/lies-errors-and-omissions/ir-spectra-fireclean-crisco/ In my 2013 article about gun oils, I mentioned that FireClean wasn’t advertised as protecting against corrosion. Given the results of this test, I suppose that makes sense. When I fired this AR which had been sitting for years with FireClean on the internals, it hadn’t been exposed to UV, although it certainly saw some oxygen. Since that test, several friends told me privately that their 1911s did not function properly after sitting for six months with FireClean on the internals. It would seem that these results are highly dependent on the weapon. Given that people in the military are often exposed to both UV and oxygen (such as when they go outdoors) and also need corrosion protection for their firearms, I would not recommend FireClean be used by members of the military. I offered FireClean a chance to respond to the findings of this test, and, among other things, they asked to review the draft of this article for a few days before it was published. That is not how this blog works. I assume they will be publishing a response through other channels. BTW, I have a product called Dolomite Clean. It is identical to Fireclean at 1/2 the cost. And I just received the first bulk shipment.2 points

So my wife is at the checkout today there was some lady behind her that was about shoving my wife into her cart because she thought if she was rude and pushy the cashier move faster. The lady would not back off to the point where my wife was wondering what her deal was? Then she tells my wife "you move I go next" my wife reaches into her car and accidently drops the family size bacon on her feet. Talk about taking care of a rude disrespectful person! Then she followed it up with oh my I am almost sorry guess you are still learning about personal space!2 points

It sounds like you gun is perfectly gassed with the other BCG. I would toss the other carrier back in.2 points
-
Make sure the BCG is properly lubed. I have had similar probles pulling a dry gun out of the safe and shooting it. Most of my AR's have M16 carriers2 points
-
Certainly, not locking back is generally due to undergassing, and sure, the lighter BC would tend to help that a bit, but did this just start happening all of a sudden with the M16 carrier already in there all along? If so, I'd suspect gas block or gas key has come loose. Also, what weight buffer is in there now? Just changing carrier to the slightly lighter AR15 type carrier, while it may allow normal function, would suggest it's still running at edge of reliability to me. - OS2 points

People can think I am crazy all they want. My CCW stays on my side as long as I am awake and goes on the nightstand beside me when I sleep. If I didn't have dogs in the house at night that I am confident would bark if someone were breaking in, I might even wear it in bed.2 points

Not to mention the people who want one now but haven't bought one. I keep reminding them (over and over) that the closer we get to the election, the more likely that any day the prices creep or fly the other direction. These things are so cheap now it's craziness. I have more AR's now than I ever would have imagined, but still wouldn't mind having a few of the cheap builds just sitting in the safe or for truck guns. I just started reloading so don't really have the cash to do it, and not to mention deer season is right around the corner. One thing I'm proud of outside of having multiple AR's is that I've bought quite a bit of extra parts for spares should the need ever arise. I didn't want to get caught with my pants down like a lot of people will when things get hairy.1 point

Avoid 4Wheel Parts at all costs..... EoR does good work, and if Jimmy doesn't have anything going on he MIGHT get you done a day or two later than what he says.... But typically he's got a bunch of stuff in there. Honestly, for something that simple. Gateway tire in Cool Springs is a good choice. They're reasonable, and know how to do it. They do that stuff all the time, I had them do the same thing to the wife's 4Runner and it was <$200 and done in a day. It's not that bad of a job if you have a lift and the tools, I had Gateway do the wife's truck because I'm lazy don't have a lot of time these days. :2cents:1 point

So I left out that I found a new Jeep and i'm picking it up tomorrow. This left me with the task of cleaning out my 14 year old Ranger. I've complained about driving it for years. It's beat up and not much to look at. Frankly I'm surprised I can trade it in While cleaning it out I found the original booklets in the glove box and that sparked the memory of how I got it. I was 22 years old and I was getting married in July. The only credit I had was when I bought my fiance an engagement ring. I didn't even have a career. My first car from when I was a teenager was falling apart. My Dad told me that I needed to get a new car. Something that would last me awhile. My fiance was scared to death that I was taking on a car payment right before the wedding. But my dad insisted, did the haggling and co-signed for me. I lost my dad back in 2006 to a massive heart attack. So here I am, at 36, just now preparing to trade off this truck that my dad helped me buy. He was always there for me, but that was the last major thing that he helped me with before I went off to learn what adulthood meant. It's time to move ahead and while I know it's just a truck,.. it's like I'm giving away a piece of my history. Thanks dad, I miss you.1 point

I give some credit to OU for making good adjustments at halftime to stop the run. I give blame to UT for not finding a way to counter and score some points. Hind sight being in my favor I still think 4th and 1/2 on the goal line. We should have scored 7 not 3. Also missed field goal. Anything changes and we still win. I am pretty disappointed as its like same story different day. Still gonna cheer our guys on. Hopefully we can grow and rebound from that1 point

Some people grow up boating and out on the water and they know what is common boating courtesy is. Then there are these other people, likely the majority now days. They buy a boat because you can just go sign a dotted line and get one, no licensing or training at all as long as it doesn't sink they are ok. They aren't taught what is right or wrong on the water or what is accepted common courtesy. Most don't know how red/green correlates to left/right.1 point
