  1. First, this wouldn't have been possible without Mikes help (Lawenforcement sales). Big thanks to him for all the help he's given me and work he's done. Next: I just finished it. (Still needs to be coated and that's it). ran some blanks through it and she worked perfect. Next, live ammo. Hopefully next weekend. Or I'll head up to strategic edge Monday or Wednesday to try it out if I have free time.

  2. I admit I am an Asshole, with a capital A.  Now that is out of the way, let's release some bombs.  If I am banned from TGO, so be it:   1) Caster, you are a bigot. Quote from you 'Short list. Fug 'em all.'  You demand people name good Muslims, but what about bad Christians, Jews, etc. 2) 'Bad Things happen to Bad people.' seriously Vontar!  You knew these people?  They deserved to die? 3) People died.  Good "Christians" should love everyone but obviously there are some "Christians" in this thread that are a better judge than GOD.   I am ashamed of the some of the people in this thread.  Seriously fuck you if you feel good with people dying.     Thanks, James the Asshole

  6. Here is a warning for anyone who cannot seem to get this. I will erase their existence here, every post, every blog entry and even their profile will be nothing more than a figment in someone's imagination. I don't want to be an ass, and trust me when I say I am here to help, unfortunately not everyone is going to feel like they are being helped. Want to know what rule I have banned more people under? I have given people vacations for months for violating this single rule.      And I realize that is more than a few words but it breaks down to one word, RESPECT. If you cannot respond to another members post in a respectful way, without attacking, you will be gone. This is the single most important rule we have and is the one rule that is most often violated.   And it is a very, very simple rule to follow yet there are some who cannot seem to get it. I don't expect everyone to agree with everyone else. I expect, and encourage, discussion between opposing parties but it will be done in a respectful manner. If a member decides to become disrespectful to other members or to the site themselves they will be gone, period.   I understand that we are in stressful times but now is the time for us to come together and not attack each other instead of tearing us apart.   People (even some here) are looking for ways to divide us into smaller and smaller groups and I believe this is not by chance. We use all kinds of terms and categories to define us as individuals and that is not going to bring us together. We should all start out with the assumption that everyone else wants to be treated with the same respect that we want to be treated. We should be inviting them and not be attacking those who do not fit in our category because the more allies we have the longer we will be around as gun owners.   And that is because we are in stressful times but think about this before you attack another member. The person you are about to attack does at least have one thing in common with you, guns, and we should all strive to look for common ground rather than attack those that you may not agree with.         Here is the problem. Some people are so miserable or have such a low self esteem that the ONLY way they can make themselves feel better is to attack others. It makes them feel as though they have some sort of authority over those they are trying to correct for what they feel is the wrong use of a "technical" term. I do have one question, I would like to hear their background that makes them qualified to be able to make the determination whether something is a "clip" or "magazine" especially without even knowing what it is they are talking about. Most "experts" do not need to go around letting everyone else know they are an "expert". I could spend all day, every day, correcting everyone who uses can, suppressor or any of the other terms they use other than "silencer". There is but one person that matters when it comes to silencers and that is Hiram Maxim. He was the first to use the term "silencer" making him the expert. Our government also uses the term "silencer" and it would seem that if anyone is a "expert" on silencers it would be the inventor as well as our government and not some random stranger telling me I must use the word "suppressor" because a "silencer" does not do that. I just let it go because NOTHING good will come of it and honestly what would change if I convinced someone to start using silencer instead of "can" or "suppressor".       Our country is on life support, we have millions of Americans who are without a way to support themselves, American children are starving as we send billions to other countries, more veterans are killing themselves everyday than ever before in our country's history, Americans ARE killing each other for no other reason than the color of their skin and our government is not doing anything to fix any of it because of the widespread corruption. And despite being in such dire straights as a country we have nothing better to do than to find the differences to divide us rather than find common ground to unite us. It seems like we are more concerned over whether someone uses HCP or CCW or clip or magazine than the future of this country, ourselves and our children.

  8. You say that assuming everyone who posted is a a Christian. After seeing the thousands of Muslims who celebrated and partied in the streets after 9/11, I really couldn't give a damn less if they all died. Muslims are a plague upon the earth, who if they follow their relegion are destined to either convert or kill anyone of any other faith. So no, I have no pity for a bunch of false prophet worshipping pedophiles who died. Sent from the backwoods

  9. I spent about 10 years working for my father's moving company, before he decided to sell it. Even with all of my experience, I always hire movers. I'm extremely tired, so I don't have time to leave a verbose response, but I can share a bit of advice. A few experienced movers can do in a few hours what will take you and your friends all weekend to accomplish. This is assuming you have any friends when moving day rolls around. Save yourself a lot of money and headache by being as prepared as possible. When you pack, use boxes, not trash bags. Use boxes with tops/lids. Do not pack boxes with crap hanging out of the top. Do not pack boxes too heavy. Clearly mark all boxes so there's no trying to figure out where they go in your new home. Disassemble beds and other furniture. Roll up and tie cords for TV's, lamps, etc. Do no leave dresser drawers full of clothing and other crap. Keep everything as organized as possible. I always try to place all boxes along the walls, in as few rooms as possible. I generally try to keep them as close to the door as possible, but not in the way. The less the movers have to walk around searching for stuff, the better off you'll be. Keep your children and pets out of the way. Many companies will charge an additional fee for a safe, depending on its size and location. Ask about this when you're getting quotes. I would always suggest hiring a minimum of a 3 man crew, unless you have a very small amount of stuff. A three man crew costs more by the hour, but you generally save money in the long run. While one is packing the truck, the other two are busy carrying stuff. There is a lot less time being wasted. As far as money goes, it really depends on how much stuff you have, how organized you are, the distance between the old and new homes, how much walking the movers will need to do between your home and the truck. On average, most local moves cost less than $1000. My last two moves were about 1200 square feet worth of stuff, and both times I paid about $400. One of those was from a second floor apartment to a home about 30 minutes away. Bottom line, be as prepared as possible BEFORE the movers arrive. If I can be of any more assistance, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully I'll have had some sleep before then. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  10. I should add that after the airshow lawsuit, the General Assembly tweaked the law this year to make it even clearer that a private entity can only ban guns on private property, which should be pretty clear.  Yet the Great Georgia Airshow is doing the exact same thing this year.     The places that are still restricted include churches if the governing authority has not given permission; jails; nuclear power plants; courthouses; and within 150 ft of a polling place (which was changed this year to mean when active voting was occurring).  I'm typing this from memory, so I may have missed some.   Some personal examples that affect me that were only possible due to GCO's efforts:  both the local animal control and the water authority had "no weapons" signs up after the law changed.  Since they had no security screening, I contacted the people in charge and the signs were removed.  Previously, one of our parks still had a "no weapons" sign that was placed before the law changed; I contacted the county manager and it was removed within 48 hours.  Other effects are less noticeable but still can be attributed to GCO's actions.  I have seen two new parks built in my county, and they didn't even try to ban guns because Georgia has true state preemption.   Thanks to GCO, I don't have to disarm just to pay my water bill, get a car tag, go to the library, or register my dogs.  That was what I had to do before 2014.  There is still work to be done, like removing courthouses, polling places, and churches from the prohibited places altogether.   So yes, Tennessee needs an organization like GCO that makes friends with the legislators and sues the people who violate the law.  A carrot and stick, approach, if you will.

  12.   I've seen some great picture quality on some big screen Sony flat screen HD TV's, far superior that the days of old like 2 years ago. That with a little extra in a good sound system and it's probably worth it just to stay home. If someone goes to a lot of theater movies and buys concession junk it will pay for itself. You can have as many people as you want to watch the movie, eat what you want at a huge savings, smokem if you got em, pause to go to the bathroom and not miss 5 minutes of the movie, fart if you want to etc.etc. AND, if you want to you can have your tacticool AR propped up by your chair.  :)

  17. This is the fault of the legislature. This is 2015 there is no excuse for our legislators to not be able to write laws that are clear. They had to know they were going to get push back on this. Oh well, it will keep the attorneys busy.

  18. Make sure you get a full explanation of the insurance coverage they are providing. Moving companies are only required to reimburse you 10 cents/60 cents per pound. That mean if they drop your fancy big screen TV, they can put the pieces on a scale and write you a check for only a few dollars. The minimum requirements may have changed in the last 15 years, but I don't imagine it would be by much, if at all. Additional insurance coverage can usually be purchased through the moving company. 22.    It should. Some of us that can only basically change tires, batteries, and oil need some guidance.    As far the check gauge light it goes off when I give it gas and the oil pressure goes back up. I'll get it checked out. I roughly drive 20 to 30 miles a month anyway so as long as it works.

  23. the fish... there is no good answer.   I gave away some of mine, and sold some back to a store that I had a good relationship with, then emptied it all and moved it all, and bought new fish.   The other option is to move it FAST by itself somehow...  method 1 is to set up a new home for them at the destination with everything ready to go, and then haul the critters over.   Method 2 is to try to break down and set up all of it in one day -- even more difficult for salt water due to the fragility of those fish.    Its hard even across town.   Going long, long distances is nearly impossible.   Ask your fish store if you try to move them live ... you can buy drugs that calm them and help them to survive the trauma.  Worse, for salt water, it is highly recommended you keep at least 1/3 to 1/2 the old water for them.  That is a lot with a big tank!

  25. I highly recommend Fox Moving Company. They have moved me a few times for very reasonable prices. Edit: Fox was recommended by a friend of mine that used to have his own little moving company. He told me that a good general rule is $200 per room for in town moves and add $200 for the transportation. Bulk items run the price up accordingly. These places all charge by the hour and most 3 bedroom homes can be moved for $1000.

  31. You may want to look over your vacuum hoses before replacing the oil pump. A broken vacuum hose can drop the idle down below factory settings and that will cause oil light to flash on idle. Also you can go to any parts house and get your computer scanned for free. The oil light should be putting a code in the memory of the on board computer telling you what may be causing the problem. Could be a defective oil sending unit not getting proper OP readings............jmho

  32. One report I heard said that the crane got hit by lightning. So, a mosque full of Muslims gets hit by lightning on the anniversary of 9/11. Sounds like someone is trying to get a message through.   The thing I thought was interesting, when 9/11 happened, there was celebrations and dancing in the street by Muslims and their leaders. This tragedy happens and we send condolences.

  33. I have a lot of deep insight here, but I'm still not ready to talk specifics, especially on a public forum. I'd encourage folks to know a few Muslims to better develop their subjective good versus bad spectrum. I've known more Muslims than I can recall to count, but it's in the several hundreds. Good, bad, middle of the road. All types. Though I'm no fan of Islam, I can't rejoice in the deaths of innocents. It's no better than the ignorant screwheads that do so when there is an attack on us. Have a bit of compassion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  34. Assuming it has standard length "pistol" buffer tube on it and not one of the niche super shorty ones, change buffer tube to carbine one that will accept a stock, attach stock, and put the upper on it. Same buffer and spring inside are probably fine for adjustable carbine type tube/stock; though somebody might have put a heavier buffer in it than standard -- if so, you won't know if you need to change it till you shoot it. Standard carbine buffer is around 2.8-3oz. If heavier, might still run fine with your rifle upper, might not, probably will.0 edit: oh yeah, if that pistol buffer tube is type that doesn't use a castle nut, you'll need that also. So to be perfectly clear you need this for sure: And possibly this: With the slighter possibly of needing to swap this down the road: And of course a stock. Or you could just cut to the chase and get a basic entire stock/buffer assembly for like 40 clams plus shipping from PSA or wherever and have a few spare parts left over. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/1145/category/409/ - OS

Day of the Triffid's and many others are equally good but The Book of Eli is the most realistically feasible. 44. Civil disobedience may be required if the cities are going to be reminded what the law actually is.   Get 100 or so people with a valid HCP, have them open carry for demonstrative purposes, and dare the public venue to deny them admission, and/or the local police to arrest them for trying to do so.  Politely but firmly, stand in line as a group, refuse to move aside until you're allowed admission, and let the situation develop from there.  If the city wants to arrest 100 people for exercising their legal rights, they will have to risk more problems and a class action lawsuit to do so.   I really don't see an alternative that won't take years in court battles.

  47. ...because revolvers generally don't care if a less than optimal grip results in limpwristing.  Revolvers don't care - and won't potentially fail to return to battery - if you have to jam them into an assailant's gut and pull the trigger (which, to me, is a more likely scenario than needing 15, 30, 45 rounds or more to resolve a 'serious social situation' as a civilian.)  As long as the ammo is loaded to the correct length, revolvers don't care what the 'nose' profile of the bullet is, how large the HP cavity is or how sharp the boundaries of said cavity are as there is no feed ramp or similar for the ammo to hang up on.  Any piece of machinery has to be maintained but revolvers don't care if you didn't get quite enough lube (or too much) on the slide rails because revolvers have no slide rails.  No one is likely to accidentally forget to click the safety on a revolver off because there probably isn't a safety (I'm thinking of some single action .22 revolvers that do have safeties.)  No one is likely to accidentally hit the mag release button and drop the mag in a revolver while nervous and under pressure despite spending lots of time in a calm, controlled environment training not to do so - because revolvers don't have mags to drop.  Because I am neither police, military nor any, other personnel whose job may require them to move toward an assailant or group of assailants while accompanied by other, armed personnel who are similarly armed and who are on their side.   The very fact that, in threads like this, there are always some folks who point out that revolvers can jam is, to me, a testament to revolver reliability.  The instances of them jamming are sort of the exceptions that prove the rule in that case and are rare enough that people can mention them as specific occasions and/or specific guns.  See, no one has to point out that semi-autos can (and likely will, at some point) jam, even if only due to an ammo issue or a magazine issue or a failure to clean issue or a failure to lube issue or a limpwristing issue or an issue of firing from an odd angle or...well, you get the point...because it happens so frequently with semiautos as to be almost a matter of course.  Sure, clearing a semiauto jam might 'only' require a tap/rack but if your life is being immediately threatened then I doubt the assailant is just going to let you call a time out even for that two or three seconds the tap/rack will take - and certainly not long enough to allow you to change mags, etc. if the tap/rack doesn't do the trick.   As for ammo capacity, well, if I am facing a threat so great and numerous that it is going to require 15, 30 or 45 rounds fired to stop the threat then most likely I am going to be dead before I run out of ammo.  No matter how many rounds I have in my gun or on my belt I am only one person shooting one gun .  If I am facing five or six armed assailants - meaning six people/six guns then all that ammo likely isn't going to make much difference.   Now, do those factors stop me from carrying a high-cap semiatuo sometimes?  Nope.  Do I think semiautos are totally unreliable pieces of junk that are just waiting for the opportunity to get their owners killed?  Nope.  Do I think that the perceived 'advantages' of a semiauto over a revolver are often both overstated and over-rated when it comes to carry by a private citizen who is neither police nor military?  Yep.  Do I think that the advantages a revolver has over a semiatuo are likewise often ignored or under-rated?  Yep.  Do I think that both have relative advantages and disadvantages in comparison to the other?  Sure.  It's just that I believe that - again, when talking about carry by a private citizen for personal protection - the odds favoring one over the other work out to be just about even with personal preference, amount of practice with a particular platform, natural ability with a particular platform and similar, individual factors being more important than which platform is chosen.
