I have posted Bob Bowen's photographs before and have gotten positive responses. He just got back from Alaska after photographing these Brown Bears. Bob is a very humble man and a gifted photographer. He will wait for hours to get the right shot. This photograph below makes me smile. Below is the link to the rest of his photographs. He is not a professional photographer. https://rdbowen.smugmug.com/Nature3 points

I have a lot of deep insight here, but I'm still not ready to talk specifics, especially on a public forum. I'd encourage folks to know a few Muslims to better develop their subjective good versus bad spectrum. I've known more Muslims than I can recall to count, but it's in the several hundreds. Good, bad, middle of the road. All types. Though I'm no fan of Islam, I can't rejoice in the deaths of innocents. It's no better than the ignorant screwheads that do so when there is an attack on us. Have a bit of compassion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I know a few that are really great people. One is a Palestinian with whom I had a lengthy discussion with concerning Palestine. He explained a LOT about the situation there and how Yasser Arafat used his people to bilk the Americans out of billions of dollars over the years. Those that could got out; those who couldn't were oppressed by Arafat with the blame being placed on America. New leaders are doing the same. Another dude is a Pakistani. He gets visibly agitated over what the extremists do when it's mentioned. The guy is a soft-spoken family man...period! Some of these statements are like claiming all Christians are White Supremacists. :shrug:3 points

Ladies and Gentlemen. I give to you the first XM42 flamethrower to hit the great state of Tennessee. Made by Ion Productions. This. Changes. Everything. For your viewing pleasure. Now to go find that pesky beaver dam... For some reason the video showed up on the website on my computer but not on Tapatalk. If anyone knows how to fix that please let me know. One report I heard said that the crane got hit by lightning. So, a mosque full of Muslims gets hit by lightning on the anniversary of 9/11. Sounds like someone is trying to get a message through. The thing I thought was interesting, when 9/11 happened, there was celebrations and dancing in the street by Muslims and their leaders. This tragedy happens and we send condolences.2 points

I try hard to feel the same way. I've known more than a few Muslims, all of whom I thought to be good people. However, the conspicuous silence from the "good" Muslim groups is telling. When the Westboro Baptist folks started their antics, many other Christian groups were quick to say "we disagree, they don't speak for us." While I haven't been looking, I also haven't seen or heard any other Muslim group speak out strongly against ISIS, Taliban, etc. That's curious. Perhaps they're afraid of making themselves the next target? I also find it curious that ISIS hasn't moved into India. After all, aren't Hindus infidels just like Christians? And India is right next door.2 points

While the freedom loving American Christian in my spirit feels pain at any loss of God's creatures... I also can't forget that the 9/11 bastards successfully lived among us for over a year, and fooled everyone. NO one thought they were evil creatures sent on a mission to kill us. The fact that has to be accepted is that some people make the conscious choice to be Satan's creatures, and they cease to be God's by their own volition. Satan's gig is to lie, steal, kill and destroy. So is the gig of his followers. Their deceit can be so convincing that it becomes too late too quickly to stop anything.2 points

So now expect all the anti cities to remove their recreational properties from under "Parks and Recreation Department management" and claim to be able to ban carry that way, eh? Just takes shuffling a few papers around. - OS2 points

Yep. I can let you shoot a Glock, SR-9 and line up some other tactical tupperwear at either a local outdoor range or indoor range. Pretty much any other member of this forum will do the same.1 point

I just pulled it out of the safe, I was wrong mine is a 10" DD and the flange was spot welded to the rail, not the upper. Don't know if you noticed last time we shot I was adjusting a SLR gas block on it.....That gas block is sweet.1 point

If the control circuit is anything like the 140/150 it may very well be an electrical problem: LA140/LA150 Function: To provide a safety interlock when the machine is being operated in reverse while the PTO is engaged, by providing a ground path to be used by either the ignition coil to shutoff the engine, or the RIO latch relay to keep the engine running. An operator who deems it necessary, and chooses to keep the PTO engaged while backing up, must take a deliberate action to actuate the RIS switch, by pressing the button momentarily while pressing the reverse pedal. RIO Operating Conditions: The key switch must be in the run position, engine running, the operator must be on the seat, the PTO engaged, and the RIS switch must be pressed (momentary) while starting operation in reverse. Theory of Operation: The Reverse Implement Option (RIO) is controlled by a relay and two switches wired in a circuit with the ignition coil. This combination of components provide for control of three different functional situations: • PTO off with any drive function. • PTO on and operating in reverse without activating the RIO circuit. • PTO on and operating in reverse while activating the RIO circuit cont.....1 point

Since it happens in the "safety" system to cut in reverse I would suspect that one of the components are the issue. It could be deck bearings but I don't think it's likely since the blades don't change direction and the load on the machine in reverse is usually less than forward. See if you can bypass the reverse cut system and check operation from there. I've got 3 mowers and none have the backup lockout issue because they don't have them installed. I'm guessing it's some sort of government safety nazi mandate. Purpose? Makes no sense to me. Most of the failures I've had in my mowers have been"safety" switches that will leave you stranded. I've bypassed what has failed or given me problems and have only replaced the ones that are cheap. A schematic will help troubleshoot the system and address each conponent one by one until either it works or you've eliminated it as the culprit.1 point

I have seen cops reprimanded, suspended, fired, arrested and convicted. If a cop violated department policy; you have recourse. If they violated your rights; you have recourse. If they committed a criminal act against you; you have recourse. If you have a case against a cop; you don’t need any money to make a complaint with their department and attorneys will jump on a rights/criminal case. So what experience do you base your statements on? Is this “General rule” that “they” believe a cop is telling the truth a Cleveland, TN thing, because it’s not what I have seen in cases as a Police Officer. Fortunately a Police Officer has the same rights as any other citizen in court. However, in many cases when they are not convicted; they still lose their job. Most other citizens go back to work when their cases are over. This isn’t a personal attack on you, but it adds to the hate of Police Officers when people see this non-sense posted and think its true. Certainly you have recourse; if anything the deck is stacked on your side, not the cops.1 point

A Very Serious Prayer Request I have a prayer request for all my friends. We all know what can come from prayer. In this case, there’s a lady I've known all my life. Today, she's very sick and on some days it appears she is dying. On top of that, she's being abused by those she has given everything to all her life. Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone. But maybe, if we join in and lift her up to God and ask for His help, she can begin to recover. She's well over 200 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is America ... and I love her. Please Help US God!!1 point

But the legislature can of course empower local government to do it, hence the previous park bill and the remaining local power regarding carry granted in 39-17-1314. - OS1 point

I'd be interested too. 1,000 rounds in a month is high for the average shooter, but not high enough to start seeing failures. Hell, 1,000 rounds in a day shouldn't be a big deal for a good handgun. I'm sure about half of us has done close to that at least once.1 point

I haven't looked at the entire thread. Having said that, I want to remind everyone the we have law enforcement officers on this board for the same reason we are all here - to enjoy a hobby we all have in common. Several months ago there were a bunch of postings about law enforcement shootings, several of which I took part in. Someone posted a comment similar to mine here. It came out that several of our law enforcement members were feeling alienated and began leaving TGO. I just read where two LEO'S responded to a call and were shot. They got shot protecting American citizens. These men and women have a very tough job, where they make split second decisions under stress in a job that doesn't pay that well. I'm not sure I could make the right call in some of the split second decisions I've seen on news websites. The small percentage of controversial situations make the news while the very vast majority of police activity, which is positive, never gets mentioned.1 point

The whole discuss it or not was for EssOne, ref. post #56. We've railed against our states screwed up perception that gun owners are criminals until proven innocent, but I really don't see why an officer has to disarm a citizen absent a cause. If I can produce a valid HCP, that should be enough to prove I've been vetted through the system. At least that's the BS they feed us while we fork over cash. Absent an HCP, or making threats by all means, disarm and arrest someone. But you're right, that's a legislative issue. Stopping someone is fine with probable cause, and in the case the positioning of the bikes plates would justify it, which could then lead to questioning about the guys actions in the store. But if the officer was truly concerned for his safety, why wasn't his weapon drawn from the outset? Why no commands to place the weapon on the ground while the officer used the cruiser as cover? From getting out of the cruiser at the 1:50 mark, and disarming the biker at the 2:15 mark, all he did was talk to the guy, including the line at the 2:00 mark, where the officer tells the biker he saw him come out of the store "with a gun on your side and a helmet on. That looked suspicious." So the officer knew this guy had a weapon before he even got out of the cruiser, and for 25 seconds, the officer didn't give any commands regarding the weapon, but then decides he needs to disarm the biker once he is is distracted by taking off his gloves to retrieve his drivers license so the officer can check it. Given that, I'm having trouble understanding when exactly the officer developed a (to paraphrase TCA 39-17-1351) reasonable belief that the bikers gun posed a threat to him, the biker, or anyone else. Absent that I come to the conclusion that taking the bikers gun wasn't about safety, it was about either being afraid of an armed citizen, or he just feels like an LEO should be the only one armed regardless.1 point

If I was the rider, I guess the cop would have pulled me off the bike trying to get my gun out of my full retention Safariland ALS holster. Unless of course he knew where the thumb release button was. Not a cool move IMO. I just pray I never get pulled over on my way to/from a 3gun match... "Sir, just how many guns and bullets do you have in your car?" :rofl:1 point
-
If you say no, I'll bet you're rather likely to see the business end of his gun. And probably a few of his friends. Not being forthcoming with regard to being armed would likely have a similar end result should the officer find out unexpectedly. That said, the safest place for a gun is in its holster. The one time I've been pulled over while carrying went very similar to yours. He asked where it was, I told him, and he said leave it there and keep your hands on the steering wheel. Yes sir.1 point
