A guy was getting ready to tee off on the first hole when a second golfer approached and asked if he could join him. The first said that he usually played alone, but agreed to the twosome. They were even after the first few holes. The second guy said, "We're about evenly matched, how about playing for five bucks a hole?" The first guy said that he wasn't much for betting, but agreed to the terms. The second guy won the remaining sixteen holes with ease. As they were walking off number eighteen, the second guy was busy counting his $80.00. He confessed that he was the pro at a neighboring course and liked to pick on suckers. The first fellow revealed that he was the Parish Priest. The pro was flustered and apologetic, offering to return the money. The Priest said, "You won fair and square and I was foolish to bet with you. You keep your winnings." The pro said, "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" The Priest said, "Well, you could come to Mass on Sunday and make a donation. And, if you want to bring your mother and father along, I'll marry them."10 points

So my wife went to the post office. And as she was walking in she heard a kitten screaming. She mentioned it and a mail worker said it was in her husbands truck somewhere under the hood. Apparently the kitten has been under the hood for two days as he went to work. They acted like the kitten would eventfully die and quit screaming. Well not with my wife around she made them pop the hood so she could find the kitten. She found it and brought it home. Not sure if we have a new family member yet but we will make sure it never suffers again. How the hell can ANYONE drive around for two days listening to a 2-3 week old kitten screaming? Takes a special kind of sicko to do that. It is safe, sound and in loving arms now.3 points

Because humans can be aholes. I haven't met too many animals that were aholes for the sake of it, so I go out of my way to be respectful of non-human life. Humans get the benefit of the doubt from me as well, unless ahole tendencies abound, like letting a defenseless animal die a slow, torturous death, when it would take less than a minute to intervene. I'd value the life of that kitten over that human any day of the week, and I'm not a cat person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

So as some of you who have been here for a while know I have recently became a AK fanatic giving up most things AR related. And a year, or more, ago I built a EDC carry "pistol" out of a mini Draco. It worked extremely well and missed it the second I sold it so I decided to throw another one together. The last one had to have a maximum length so it would fit into a laptop bag so I could carry it with me into stores. This one is a little different as I will not be using the same bag so it does not have the same length requirements. So instead of running a slant brake, that was pretty rough to shoot, I installed a 4 piece brake and it seems to help a lot. The gas system has been tuned, the trigger has been reworked to remove most of the pre travel and over travel. The trigger is a two stage that is under four pounds. The forearm is made from a cut down Saiga rifle forearm. It is actually 26"+ so I could, if I wanted to, add a vertical forward grip but I am not a fan of them on such a small gun. The only thing I might do is swap out a top cover for one with an A2 sight so I can get a longer sight radius. I welcome any questions. And here are some pictures of what I am dubbing my AKPDW V2.0.2 points

Ordinarily I would agree that the root cause is all the talk about more gun control. But this time is different. I don't think I've ever seen this country rolled up in a ball as bad as it is right now. Our criminal justice system is coming apart at the seams, inner city riots are the order of the day, Our President, aided by his Attorney General, the Director of the FBI, and the Mayor of New York have succeeded in convincing the criminal element that the cops have no backing, race relations have taken their hardest hit in decades, cops are being slaughtered all over the country and mass murders are rearing their ugly heads again, the most prominent candidate for President in one of our political parties is being openly considered an irresponsible liar and mistrusted by both parties, we're entering into a deal with an enemy nation that half of the politicians in the country denounce as being suicidal - all at a time when our military is being downsized, and worst of all the rule of law is seen as being incinerated on the altar of prosecutorial discretion at the Presidential level............and on and on and on. I think this country is worried, really worried, and it's showing up in gun sales.2 points

My daughter Shayelan has been a guard at the Newport jail for a while now with the plan of becoming a Police officer, and Sheriff Fontes told her today that he is going to make her a reserve deputy for and if she does a good job and get good reports from her supervising officers the county will send her to police academy in October. I am very proud of her, she is a single mother who works 2 jobs to support herself and my Granddaughter and really deserves a good break. So if your in Cocke County next year and get pulled over by a pretty blond cop tell her to say hi to her daddy John for ya it might get you out of a ticket lol :up:2 points

Superior. 1/8 barrel (like Sports used to have) with a nice, thin hand guard. It has a dust cover and forward assist The front sight block does look a little goofy but I believe it is milled and has serrations to cut down on glare. There is a QD mount to attach a front sling swivel. The rear sight is a Magpul knock-off but there is only one aperture (small) and it flips up with a button on the left side rather than the dual "paddles" of the Magpul. If I was looking for my first it would be the one.2 points

Dude I just got back from the dealership...we are trading my truck in and I'm taking over my wife's 4runner. I got in it and she said, "before you even think about doing some dumb $hit to this, you are only allowed one bad habit at at time. Remember the Jeep??" Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

Well she starts the academy next month she is so excited lol. The Sherriff told her he was very impressed with her, I took her to buds to celebrate and she walked out with a nice new G26 gen4, we just went to throw a few rounds into paper targets, but when she picked the G26 up she fell in love so I paid for 1/2 and she walked out a happy girl. I was saving for a Henery lever action 30/30 it will just take me a little longer to get it.2 points

On the bright side, in a survival situation that requires you to flee to the forest, the forests will be slapped full of people with the same idea. Like deer season times 1000. In that situation, there will be so many people out there you won't be hiding from anyone. Everyone will already know where you are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Wellllllll, you do with me (if you want to). If I see you open carrying in my jurisdiction I'm going to be asking you questions. Such as: "What kind ya got there?"; "Caliber?"; "Like it?"; "Accurate?" And, most importantly: "Didja get a good deal on it?" :woohoo: Yes, I do that all the time. Most folks seem to be pleasantly surprised that they've run into a cop who's a certified gun nut. I've met some really good folks that way. Of course, the problem is that I usually wind up standing there having a good conversation for quite a while instead of working. :surrender: I always like to encourage people when I see them exercising their Constitutional rights And I forget who said it on here, but they're right about the fact that someone who's up to no good is probably not going to be open carrying. And, to answer your question, yes, people can be and are prosecuted for making false reports. Though not often enough.2 points

I'm with spots, I hate cats with a passion.....but wouldn't tolerate their needless suffering either. It takes a sick, severely physically/sexually/emotionally frustrated person to torment an animal. And as to giving preference to animals over humans? I probably shouldn't ........but I will. I have more respect any animal over the 'average human'. Animals aren't liars. They're animals. Bears aren't evil because they snack on an occasional hiker. It's a friggin' BEAR! It's what they do. It's my firm and steadfast opinion that a dog is God's finest work. Far surpassing man, for whom they are especially suited to serve with loyalty and distinction. If one thinks they've ever had a human love them more than a good dog, they're either deluded or never had a good dog. I recently lost my best friend and were it in my power to do so, I would short dick every Charlie chan in China to have him back. He certainly had more value to me than 90% of the humans I've ever met.2 points

I'm not a cat person but I would have done what's right by it. I wonder about people a lot nowadays and crap like this confirms my thoughts.2 points

Bongo, our latest furry family member came to live with us in a similar fashion. I was at my part-time job a couple of months ago and some really sketchy folks came in. One of then had a kitten he was hiding under his shirt. When they left he just threw it into the parking lot and walked on like nothing. One of the girls saw him, so she ran out and crawled under a truck to rescue what was maybe a four week old kitten. Bandit, our lab, thinks the kitten is hers. If he hits the floor, it is time to play. Moeko, our cat, she hates him. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk2 points

I will also add, be meticulous. Keep everything and make copies. I just got my stamped approval yesterday (after five months!) for my suppressor. I made a copy of the stamped approval paper and put it the buttstock compartment of my rifle in case Barney Fife shows up.1 point

When we had our 4 cats and only one staying inside the house was our 3 legged female. I got a Littermate selfcleaning catbox in the garage and that was not so bad.I am not fond of litter boxes either but its not bad if you keep up with it,. the other 3 went outside and just came in for food/bringing critters in :)1 point

120 Mile trip round trip, $200, + 3x 1,400 Round buckets of Remington Golden Bullet 22 LR = My 2nd TGI built FEG AMD-65! The seller was seeking $550 for the rifle, one magazine, + a box of ammunition. I was able to negotiate his asking price considerably to my favor as I was willing to make the drive to him this evening to complete the transaction. It was an unexpected purchase, but I was hard pressed to pass on the opportunity given the price point!1 point
