Because humans can be aholes. I haven't met too many animals that were aholes for the sake of it, so I go out of my way to be respectful of non-human life. Humans get the benefit of the doubt from me as well, unless ahole tendencies abound, like letting a defenseless animal die a slow, torturous death, when it would take less than a minute to intervene. I'd value the life of that kitten over that human any day of the week, and I'm not a cat person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

So my wife went to the post office. And as she was walking in she heard a kitten screaming. She mentioned it and a mail worker said it was in her husbands truck somewhere under the hood. Apparently the kitten has been under the hood for two days as he went to work. They acted like the kitten would eventfully die and quit screaming. Well not with my wife around she made them pop the hood so she could find the kitten. She found it and brought it home. Not sure if we have a new family member yet but we will make sure it never suffers again. How the hell can ANYONE drive around for two days listening to a 2-3 week old kitten screaming? Takes a special kind of sicko to do that. It is safe, sound and in loving arms now.5 points

I don't like cats at all. But that doesn't mean I want any animal to suffer. And I like my dogs and horses more than I like most people. My dogs are my babies. Me and my wife have a struggled to have children, so our 6 yr old maltipoo that I bought her when we first moved to California has been our baby for years. She has never stabbed me in the back or hurt me purposefully. So yeah, I like her better than most humans I meet. Sent from the backwoods5 points

Got a new knife today while on vacation, a Benchmade Adamas auto. Seems to be a pretty hefty and solidly built knife...looking forward to seeing how it does as an EDC...4 points

I'm with spots, I hate cats with a passion.....but wouldn't tolerate their needless suffering either. It takes a sick, severely physically/sexually/emotionally frustrated person to torment an animal. And as to giving preference to animals over humans? I probably shouldn't ........but I will. I have more respect any animal over the 'average human'. Animals aren't liars. They're animals. Bears aren't evil because they snack on an occasional hiker. It's a friggin' BEAR! It's what they do. It's my firm and steadfast opinion that a dog is God's finest work. Far surpassing man, for whom they are especially suited to serve with loyalty and distinction. If one thinks they've ever had a human love them more than a good dog, they're either deluded or never had a good dog. I recently lost my best friend and were it in my power to do so, I would short dick every Charlie chan in China to have him back. He certainly had more value to me than 90% of the humans I've ever met.4 points

Speaking on behalf of Music City Tactical Shooters (Outdoor-Dickson / Indoor-Nashville Armory), at this time 3 gun is not a staple in our regular monthly shooting rotation, but we will post on our Website (www.mctsclub.com) when another match will be held. As for matches in the area, MTSC in Manchester, TN shoots 3 gun on the 1st Sunday of every month (no match this month though), start time noon. Elk River Training Center in Pelham, TN, shoots 3 gun on the 1st Saturday of the month (http://www.elkrivertrainingcenter.com/training/schedule.php). TSF in Jackson, TN shoots 3 gun on the 4th Saturday of every month, I think they have a 9am start time. And Rockcastle up in Park City, KY has some of the best 3 gun matches in the country, just check their Website for details of when the next match will be. 3 Gun is growing in popularity in Tennessee, so more matches will surely be popping up over time. Also check out http://www.tennessee3gunseries.com/, which will be starting up again in 2016. Regards, King Drummond MCTS Match Director2 points

Hendersonville is just down the road from where we run weekly Wednesday night matches in Gallatin. We always have new shooters and are always willing to work with them and help them grow into the competitive arena if they like it. We run IDPA (defensive pistol) matches that are a whole lot of fun for all skill levels. We have a had a 15 yr old young lady come shoot with us a couple times now and she is completely new to firearms and seems to be enjoying the sport! This coming Wednesday we have another IDPA match scheduled and he and his parent/guardian are welcome to come out and watch or participate. A safe weapon, strong side holster and 3 mags are all that's needed. We generally have plenty of extras on hand, and he's welcome to shoot one of mine if need be. PM me if you want, and I'll be glad to provide them with my contact info!2 points

The OP needs to go to one of the websites that consolidates handgun carry laws for all states and look up the laws in the states he will be traveling through. No offense, but while I respect the advice from others on forums, I'd rather see something more official. Here's one. http://handgunlaw.us/ Oh, and one other thing. Printing is a function of how the holster tilts the weapon, how the belt holds the weapon, and how the fabric of the cover garment snags on the weapon. If you work at it, you can avoid printing with most handguns. I adjust/modify my holster and belt until the grip touches my back instead of hanging out. That's mostly what causes printing. I carry in the 5 o'clock position. Any heavy t-shirt or polo shirt worn with the tail out will hide it nicely. If I carry a different gun in the 3 or 4 o'clock position, I also have the grip angle in, but I wear a cover garment, like an open shirt made of heavy material. In fall, I wear a hipster North Face vest.2 points

Know your limitations. I would think that any amount of alcohol in your system will be something looked at in an SD shoot, especially if there are aggravating factors. No two cases are the same, so it's impossible to predict what impact it would have. I have a beer almost every day with lunch when I'm home. I know my limitations, and I know how much I can drink before I feel any effect. This one beer does not prevent me from operating a motor vehicle or carrying a weapon. Some say it's bad to drink even a drop, but let us be realistic; does a drop of beer cause any adverse effect? The issue with alcohol is most folks don't identify their limitations. Some people can't have just one drink. Some people are impaired after just one drink. For some people, a "couple of beers" is a six pack. Each individual is responsible for knowing their limitations and acting accordingly. If you know you're the type who will drive and carry a firearm while impaired, staying home after you drink should be your answer.2 points

I don't use this but since it's a safety recall I thought it should be posted. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2015/09/imr-4007-ssc-smokeless-powder-safety-warning-and-recall/1 point

This reminds me of rescuing a very rough looking pit bull mix and her pups. Finding a home for the pups was easy - but she was old and didn't look so good. We tried to keep her, but her prey drive towards the cats was so strong we just couldn't do it. The picture of the cowboys and cats is from a funny commercial from EDS Here's a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk7yqlTMvp81 point

I work in the road. I can say that most places, about 1 in three people are distracted by their phone. Sometimes it's as much as 1 in 2. I'm not sure the answer is photographing them on the road and texting it to police. Wouldn't that make for two unsafe drivers? I saw a guy texting a couple of weeks ago while riding a Harley. I thought he sas going to lay the bike over when he got to the red light! :shake: :shake: Somebody might be that important, but I hope I never am.1 point

I'm not seeing any prices there to justify the expense. You can buy a helluva lot of ammo to make up for bad shots blamed on the basic trigger. Sent using wizardry.1 point

It's true that you didn't say anything about killing, though grouping cats with rats and mice infers it. Having said that, when I put in the part about killing I wasn't thinking about you.1 point

I buy my ammunition online most times or off of sellers. Last time I bought 7.62x39 locally it was bought from Academy. I could have gotten it cheaper online but I needed it immediately.1 point

You can only carry a loaded handgun on the person in general public here with a carry permit. The permit allows concealed or open carry, so no matter how poorly you may conceal your heater, "printing" is not a legal issue. - OS1 point

The fix is not quick or simple. Until the rule of law is reestablished in this country, until absolutes are adopted again - absolutes like right and wrong, good and bad, moral and immoral, proper and improper, decent and indecent, until we say that morals, principles, ethics, and standards aren't situational and conditional after all, when we can once again say that we are all accountable to God and our fellow man for our conduct, and that such accountability is the bedrock of our society, this will not stop. It has taken us fifty years to get in this condition, there is no express lane out of it.1 point

My buddy Arnie says his sunglasses works great, but they sometimes snag on his scope. He says they are light, and the and the polycarbonate works great. The color shade really helps with target acquisition. I think his came from Spencers or Claires at the Mall. One more positive point Arnie says, when he wears them to the Elton John concerts, he doesn't stand out as bad. To put a little more meat on that bone, if a reasonable person would believe that a crime may have been commited then the officer has legal justification to detain a person. If a reasonable person would believe that a crime has been commited then the officer has legal grounds for arrest. Detention can only last long enough for a reasonable investigation to ascertain probable cause or not. If there's no probable cause, the detention is supposed to end and the person is free to go.1 point

When you are stopped for a traffic violation, that is an arrest and a release upon your giving your written promise to appear at the stipulated time and place to answer the charges. i.e. your signature. That's why traffic tickets aren't labeled "Traffic Ticket.' They're labeled "Notice to Appear.", "Promise to Appear." "Traffic Summons," and so on. That's also why you have to go to jail if you refuse to sign the ticket in a lot of states - you've refused to give your promise to appear and the law requires a physical arrest under that circumstance. The best advice I can give you is cooperate now and complain to the officer's supervisor later.1 point
