A couple of aliens landed in the Arizona desert………… near a gas station that was closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger alien addressed it saying, "Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader." The gas pump, of course, didn't respond. The younger alien became angry at the lack of response. The older alien said, 'I'd calm down if I were you.' The younger alien ignored the warning and repeated his greeting. Again, there was no response. Angry at the pump's haughty attitude, he drew his ray gun and said gruffly, "Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader or I will fire!" The older alien again warned his comrade saying, 'You probably don't want to do that! I really think that will make him mad.' 'Rubbish,' replied the cocky, young alien. He aimed his weapon and opened fire. There was a huge explosion. A massive fireball roared towards him and blew the younger alien off his feet and threw him in a burnt, smoking mess about 200 yards away in a cactus patch. Half an hour passed. When he finally regained consciousness, he refocused his three eyes, straightened his bent antenna, and looked dazedly at the older, wiser alien who was standing over him shaking his big, green head. 'What a ferocious creature!' exclaimed the young, fried alien. 'He almost killed me! How did you know he was so dangerous?' The older alien leaned over, placed a friendly feeler on his crispy friend and replied, 'If there's one thing I've learned during my intergalactic travels, you never mess with a guy who can loop his penis over his shoulder twice and then stick it in his ear.'9 points

Not mine but my sister had this passed down from my Pappaw. He passed away in 2001, rest his soul. I've not seen this until tonight because she told me she got one of his .22 rifles. But I had no idea what it was. She brought it over tonight so I could check it out and man was I surprised! The stock has a crack in it and is loose, and it needs a good cleaning, but it works and the little scope is still pretty clear considering the age. Well, I hope y'all enjoy the pictures as much as I did messing with it tonight.9 points

There was a lot of hate here, either for cops or for this Officer. I guess we will have to wait to see what happens. I found it interesting that MSN gave a description without giving a race. Is that how it’s going to be done now by the media? They also don’t mention the threats against Police. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/hunt-continues-for-suspect-in-deputy-killing/ar-BBmd876?ocid=spartandhp This story says a witness said the shooter was black. http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2015/08/28/texas-deputy-executed-days-after-black-radical-group-calls-for-killing-cops/ Rest in peace Deputy Darren Goforth4 points

I think many are trying to keep this from spinning the way it is headed. Threats are not protected speech. Unless those openly calling for the murder of whites and Police Officers are charged; it’s going to get bad for everyone, including those that think they are standing on the side lines watching.4 points

As I'm thinking this through, I want to learn more about mausers. Getting a Mosin is pretty straight forward. I got one for $150, it was made in 1939, so it almost certainly saw action on the Eastern Front. It was returned to the factory a re-worked, though it captures the piece of history I was after. Moving over to the German side causes things to become more complicated. They are more expensive, there are a bunch of variants, there is a lot more info needed to make a wise purchase, etc...3 points

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation. You see they found he owned 100 guns and had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. So, by Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds is considered "mentally unstable." In Michigan, he'd be called "The last white guy still living in Detroit." In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector." In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector." In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food." In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend." In Montana, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy." In Idaho, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate." In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor." In North Carolina, Virginia, W.Va., Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Missouri, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina he would be called "a deer hunting buddy." And here in Texas; he'd just be "Bubba, who's a little short on ammo."3 points

They are checking response times as well as what units responded. Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows you MUST know your enemy and what their capabilities are. By doing this they now know how many officers are on campus. They also know how long the response will likely be during an attack. They now know likely avenues of approach by LE as well as how many will respond. If I were a betting person I would bet that school will be involved in something a lot more serious at some point. There is absolutely no reason for a couple of middle eastern men to be actively trying to get a response from law enforcement other than preparing for a real attack. The guys who were arrested are likely clean, as far as terrorist ties and criminal record, so they will likely have the charges and bond reduced but that won't matter because they will make bond quickly and likely be involved long before they go to trial. If I had children in that school they would be starting their homeschooling Monday.2 points

Great pictures and a really nice bit of family history as well. I'd go ahead and finish a detailed cleaning of the rifle and repair the existing stock. There are a lot of different ways to repair the stock but if the rifles not going to be used anymore I'd glue and clamp it.2 points

Safety of carrying and the position depends on several things. Number one is the person carrying, second a good holster and third is the type/brand of firearm carried. I often carry cross draw with a Don Hume IWB clip on but my pistol is either a S/A with safety or DA/SA with safety. I usually carry with the hammer down when I carry the SA/DA pistols. The main safety feature of all firearms is between your ears and behind your eyes so know and practice with the firearm carried and carry how you feel safe!.2 points

Nothing like the gov't rolling out a $100 million project that took an uneducated, dirt worshipping caveman a month to figure out a way to destroy it with 40 lbs of HME. Even with the UIK upgrade and the rpg net those things are death traps. If I had the choice of a HMMWV for a farm truck or whatever you would use it for for civilian purposes I'd save the $$$ and put a turret on a Polaris or an old Jeep. Especially an old GI one... Buying a vehicle assigned to an 19 year old PVT for 10 years is like buying a rent-a-car or marrying a hooker. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

All this crap really is starting to piss me off. Both of my Grandfathers entered the country Legally in 1914. Both fought in World War I. My grandpa on my dads side spent a year in a VA hospital after being gassed with Mustard gas. And both had to wait until the 1930's and pass a test before they were granted citizenship. I don't understand why it was not okay back then to make folks prove themselves then but it is now. What a mess. They do not have the right unless they are Legal. Period. I do not agree that any of our constitutional rights automatically apply to those in the country ILLEGALLY. Legal but not a citizen yet then yes. end of rant :usa:2 points

Just picked up this sexy thing in a trade. Its pretty beat up but looks damn good to me. 1962 Colt Python with the original box and test target!! I think the plating is a bad refinish. The box claims that this one was born blue and I tend to agree. Called Colt and they couldn't tell me the original finish so I had to pay $100 for them to dig through the archives. In 100 days I should know then I can send it to Colt for them to restore to factory. The turnaround for that is around 9 months. So a year from now I should be getting a pristine python......hopefully they'll still be in business. Took it out last weekend and shot the hell out of it. And it shoots like a dream. Even convinced my son to take a turn after I mentioned the Walking Dead....go figure1 point

Beautiful little rifle sir. Repairing the butt stock will largely depend on how much oil damage there is in the grip area. The old timers would pump in some 3 in 1 oil come winter, then stand the gun up on its butt for all the oil to drain into the wood. I see some blackish color in the wood around the tang, which is oil damage, so it may break easily at that point. If it's sound and doesn't flake away when you remove it from the tang, I'd also repair and refinish it.1 point

Meh. Imho, an average adult with firearms familiarity and no severe handicap should pretty much be able to shoot anything within reason. Go getcha sumthin bigger and have fun! Btw, my first gun was a 40, and I had fired precisely one round out of a shotgun 10 years prior. I had never held a handgun in my life until I bought it. No biggie.1 point

First time illegal entry is a misdemeanor, subsequent times are felonies. (8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien) Which makes all this talk about making it a mandatory 5 year sentence for entry after a deportation rather stupid. It's already up to a two year sentence for doing it, but obviously never enforced. However, note that this is not for illegal presence, but illegal entry. Meaning, the legal system has come to regard illegal presence as a separate issue. Started with folks who did not enter the US illegally, but say overstayed an expired visa, now seems to be applied to anyone caught after the fact of entry. - OS1 point

I don't carry that way for exactly that reason, plus it's very uncomfortable sitting down. That said, find what works for you and don't worry about how others carry. I finally gave up on finding holsters that fit and now make my own and carry comfortably in the 5 o'clock position. Once I made custom holsters, I can carry a larger and heavier handgun than before and it's almost comfortable enough to forget it's there. If I ever needed to carry in that position, I would never, never, never reholster the handgun while wearing the holster. My protocol would be... remove holster, holster weapon, clip holster back on. Whatever works for you...1 point

Yep, both the Phase 5 Hex tube and the KaK SB15 tubes add about 1.75" of length to the end of SB15 brace. Only diff is that the KaK tube extends inside to flush with the end of the brace while the shorter Phase 5 tube offsets it leaving a void inside. Generally, this extra distance is a good thing for those who want to "redesign" their heater, though, which is 99.9% of the folks who buy a brace in the first place. :) Btw, this whole thread is in wrong forum. ;) - OS1 point

This is why I believe a person's rights should be restored when they are released from prison. If you have served your time, you have served your time. If you haven't, why are they releasing you from prison in the first place?1 point

I have owned the SIG 238 (actually a few) if you like the 1911 style type of guns (single action) you will like the SIG. I just did not like the 380 platform. That was the reason I sold them. The Beretta will hurt as will the s&w bodyguard. The trigger on the lcp is long. I haven't shot the Glock so no comment on it other then I just don't like Glocks in general. Also you could sell the 380 ammo and look at 9mm. I have an lc9s and like it as a carry gun after I removed the magazine safety.1 point

But they do not have the right to buy them legally. Just like the the fact that even though the 19th amendment allows women to vote. It's it doesn't mean ALL women can vote.1 point

These are our mutts. The whole gang is here. From Left to Right we have : Chiquita "Banana" in the Thundershirt (Shar Pei and devil), Earl "The Squirrel or The Pearl" (1/2 Rottie, 1/4 Pit, 1/4 English Bulldog), Sophia "Meatloaf" (Pit and Lab), Maxwell VonTrampsalot (Labaweiner), Leroy Jethro Gibbs (American Staffordshire Terrier), Floyd (Earl's Brother/Litter mate). Clearly from the names you can tell I am a bit of a dogaholic. I love these goofballs more than anything in the world. We call them our kids, since we won't ever have real ones (by choice).1 point
