My guess is nobody interested enough to start it will zap it halfway through. Bout same as TWD really, folks may carp about this and that, but those inclined to watch at all keep watching. Like moi. - OS3 points

I love the sky is falling threads that show up every time the stock market sees a correction. You sell......I'm buying. Where else can a person reliably grow his wealth? As screwed up as it is, the U.S. is still the preeminent economic power in the world. The dollar still the world standard currency. Seriously, if it does crash, where else would you want your money? How about a world collapse? What exactly would this mean? The entire world's population just quits producing anything? Sorry, but I cannot wrap my head around that concept.3 points

So... This past week I received an offer too good to pass up on my 2011 Raptor and we parted ways. 5 years was a good run, but who wouldn't take $5K less on trade than they PAID for it 60 months ago??? Our plan has been to pick up a 2018 Raptor if Ford doesn't end up screwing the first-year buyers again the way they did in 2011. The 2010 Raptors are the ugly step-kid. No crew-cab option and the 5.4L Triton motor as opposed to the 6.2L solid iron engine in the 2011+. You can't give a 2010 away; I've seen their value listed as low as $15K in some sources. Ford really gave the early adopters the middle finger and I kind of suspect they may do it again in 2018. The Ecoboost twin-turbo V6 may be impressive but truck guys want V8s. My suspicion is that 2018 will see the 5.0L Coyote come to the Raptor, maybe even in boosted form. So I cashed in on the unnaturally high resale value the old Raptor has right now, and am going to sit on the sidelines for the next two years to see what comes of the new truck. Next year I figure the current Raptor's resale value will fall quite a bit as owners dump theirs to be the cool kids with the new truck, and flood the market. Until I see what happens after year-one, I am going to be driving this beast: 2015 Dodge Charger R/T "Scat Pack" edition with SRT 6.4L 392ci Hemi :cool:3 points

While waiting on Rugerla to show up at the armory today I scoped out quite possibly the ugliest gun ever built. the .22lr zip gun. Had to buy it for purely novelty purposes. Have not shot it, don't really intend on it but from what I read online, this thing should shoot sub-MOA unscoped at 1200 yards. Is definitely in the leagues of my AR10, and since the ammo is cheaper I may just start using it to hunt large game. Here she is in all of her glory - haven't came up with a name yet but some on the internet know it as "possibly the most pointless gun that has ever been built"2 points

Just got back from the race. Guess they're not going hardcore on the Confederate flag as I thought they might be. There was a guy with a rebel flag track side and no one asked him to leave. Plenty of mini flags about.... hats and t-shirts too. Guess they're only on the lookout for one of those 10 foot flags. :squint: On the way in, there was a vendor selling t-shirts with the Confederate flag on it and it said "If this shirt offends you, you need a history lesson." I bought it and put it on... got quite a few compliments. So yes, Bristol is still Bristol. Guess they don't want to tick off their fans. Attendance is down and they don't want to make it worse.2 points

Kinda a slow start, but I realize they have to establish the characters and all in normal life. I don't like the kid much.2 points

I’m glad to see Remington getting back into the handgun market. They make some of the best rifles and shotguns on earth; hopefully that expertise will be seen in their handguns. They had a set-back with the R-51, but it appears they addressed it quickly. Any American manufacturer that can produce a quality product and compete with the imports on price given the obstacles they are hampered with; deserve our attention and business.2 points

Thanks Willis! Yeah we need to get together soon and blast some targets then have a beer somewhere afterward to cool down! Truth be told they had a Hellcat Challenger in the showroom that we tried to buy but they wouldn't sell it. It had been ordered for a friend of the dealership's owner (we were told) and he already had one or two others. They did offer an allocation for a 2016 Hellcat if we wanted one, but with Dodge being flaky and canceling orders on them this past year and raising the price a bit more next year, we decided to hold for the moment. The Hellcat may certainly be overkill but when's the last time you or me did something that wasn't? :D2 points

Not going to be a very long series. How long can some Californians last against zombies without firearms? Or worse yet, how are they able to kill zombies when the guns are all locked up in their storage containers.2 points

Thanks guys, it sounds like I did the right thing by taking a chainsaw to it instead of just using some hedge trimmer and knocking off the tips.1 point

Pretty blatant Cold Steel Grivory ripoff. CS models are much cheaper too, and with the excellent Kray-Ex grips. http://www.coldsteel.com/Product/92FPA/FGX_PUSH_BLADE_I.aspx http://www.coldsteel.com/Product/92FPB/FGX_PUSH_BLADE_II.aspx - OS1 point

I like the .338 Lapua option. Don't think of it as a feral cat, think of it as ballistic gelatin on legs. :D1 point

You are both almost right. It is the super elusive Black House Panther! Or a regular feral domesticated cat. One of the deadliest hunters in society.1 point

Just one of those things, they probably sell a lot of them for the same reason... have them on the shelf beside 1911's, so you're looking and looking at the nice stuff and then WTF is that thing contaminating the scenery? :rofl:1 point

Maybe. I dunno, is just an image off the web. Maybe he paid the tax on his right, maybe not. It does put a stock on a pistol, so yes, its a SBR.1 point

When I was new FFL dealer in 1994, one of my first major purchases was 100 Chinese SKS from SOG @ a whopping $2900.00. I grieved myself of the risk I was taking, I sold each and everyone within 2 weeks at 35% markup, and I was pleased. Bought many more after that. SOG and SKS are special to me  .1 point

Some years ago, 2013 I think, David offered a special on the Lifetime Benefactor memberships; and I took it. One of the best moves I've made since coming here. It was well worth the cost. For what I paid, I've more than gotten the worth from it.1 point

All of our grandkids will probably be lucky to be able to own a home, let alone all the toys and comforts we have enjoyed over the years. I will however be able to look my grandchildren in the eye and explain to them how this happened and that I tried my very best to not be a part of it when they ask “How could you do this to us?” I hold out great hope though that the younger generations will see the mistakes of the generations before them that have turned their backs on their family, friends and county, and will bring this country back to where it belongs.1 point

Things can't continue as they have. And yes...I do feel uneasy about what's going on at the moment and my gut tells me this could be the beginning of an existence I won't be happy with. I don't know what's going to happen...if I did I would have been totally prepared years ago. But I feel pretty confident if something doesn't happen soon at a minimum my kids and grandkids will never know the country and world I grew up in.1 point

I am all for reducing the size of government and while I used to be a big supporter of police, some recent events have lessened my support, I hardly consider police to be parasites on society. They do a thankless job for way less than most people earn. as many bad apples as there are now I can't imagine what it would be like with all volunteers.1 point

Me too, I've trimmed a 25' tall crepe myrtle down to 4' with a chain saw, they grew to 25' again that year! And bloomed. Since then I just cut whatever needs cutting when it needs it. Of course the ol lady holds me back otherwise I'd be cutting most things down to dirt level :), I'm not a fan of trimming stuff, especially hedges.1 point

What kind of income will be unaffected by an economic collapse? Honestly, I don't know and not sure anyone would be able to say with certainty, but a logical guess would be basics like food. So farmers might be one who's income is perhaps more likely to continue. Perhaps people that repair things since folks will try and keep things vs buy new ones - think car repair as an example. Will my income continue? I am concerned about that and doing all I can think of to preserve it, but I really don't know. I thought in the 2008 downturn that luxury items would be the first to go and was totally wrong because the rich got richer. So you're telling me the balloon is going up Yes, that is what I am saying, that it is aready up - just gaining altitude and rapidly and we are going to see another 2008 no, much worse1 point

So, I sold a camera lens via Ebay. Someone from Cambodia messaged me and asked if they won, would I ship it to them. I told them I would. They won. So I shipped it to them. I have shipped probably 10 different items overseas in the last 5 years. It has worked perfectly each time. However, this one looks a bit odd via tracking: The guy messaged me today mentioning that he thought it was supposed to be 12 day shipping. I've gotta say, he is on top of things more than the USPS. I'm afraid I'm going to see a note in my mailbox today telling me I have a package to pickup. For anyone familiar, does this look like the status updates of what will soon be a package "returned to sender"? I'm afriad that the issue is that I used Ebay's custom's form. I usually fill out the papers by hand and then pay at the local post office for international shipments. When you right on that paper it makes copies. With Ebay's form it only printed out one, I had to print it multiple times to get the multiple sheets. I spoke with the local USPS and they said it should be fine. I also made sure the weight was correct (actually overpaid by probably 1/4 pound. If it comes back and the reason is not something in my error, think I'll have any luck talking to the local Postmaster?1 point

I once bought a gun collection from a lady who inherited them from her deceased brother. I went to her house and gave her the approximate retail value of each piece. I explained to her that selling items at retail involved a good deal of work. Turns out she just wanted them gone, and seemed happy for me to get them. She asked what I'd offer for them, I gave her a number well below what they were worth. She seemed pleased and accepted the offer, with full knowledge the guns were worth much more than I paid for them. In the end, she got rid of the guns without a hassle, and I got a screaming deal on some pieces I otherwise never would have owned. I say all that to say this: be honest and upfront with this lady. Explain to her the real value of what she has, and that you aren't in a position to pay retail for it. You just might get a deal as well.1 point
