My guess is nobody interested enough to start it will zap it halfway through. Bout same as TWD really, folks may carp about this and that, but those inclined to watch at all keep watching. Like moi. - OS3 points

I love the sky is falling threads that show up every time the stock market sees a correction. You sell......I'm buying. Where else can a person reliably grow his wealth? As screwed up as it is, the U.S. is still the preeminent economic power in the world. The dollar still the world standard currency. Seriously, if it does crash, where else would you want your money? How about a world collapse? What exactly would this mean? The entire world's population just quits producing anything? Sorry, but I cannot wrap my head around that concept.3 points

So... This past week I received an offer too good to pass up on my 2011 Raptor and we parted ways. 5 years was a good run, but who wouldn't take $5K less on trade than they PAID for it 60 months ago??? Our plan has been to pick up a 2018 Raptor if Ford doesn't end up screwing the first-year buyers again the way they did in 2011. The 2010 Raptors are the ugly step-kid. No crew-cab option and the 5.4L Triton motor as opposed to the 6.2L solid iron engine in the 2011+. You can't give a 2010 away; I've seen their value listed as low as $15K in some sources. Ford really gave the early adopters the middle finger and I kind of suspect they may do it again in 2018. The Ecoboost twin-turbo V6 may be impressive but truck guys want V8s. My suspicion is that 2018 will see the 5.0L Coyote come to the Raptor, maybe even in boosted form. So I cashed in on the unnaturally high resale value the old Raptor has right now, and am going to sit on the sidelines for the next two years to see what comes of the new truck. Next year I figure the current Raptor's resale value will fall quite a bit as owners dump theirs to be the cool kids with the new truck, and flood the market. Until I see what happens after year-one, I am going to be driving this beast: 2015 Dodge Charger R/T "Scat Pack" edition with SRT 6.4L 392ci Hemi :cool:3 points

While waiting on Rugerla to show up at the armory today I scoped out quite possibly the ugliest gun ever built. the .22lr zip gun. Had to buy it for purely novelty purposes. Have not shot it, don't really intend on it but from what I read online, this thing should shoot sub-MOA unscoped at 1200 yards. Is definitely in the leagues of my AR10, and since the ammo is cheaper I may just start using it to hunt large game. Here she is in all of her glory - haven't came up with a name yet but some on the internet know it as "possibly the most pointless gun that has ever been built"2 points

Just got back from the race. Guess they're not going hardcore on the Confederate flag as I thought they might be. There was a guy with a rebel flag track side and no one asked him to leave. Plenty of mini flags about.... hats and t-shirts too. Guess they're only on the lookout for one of those 10 foot flags. :squint: On the way in, there was a vendor selling t-shirts with the Confederate flag on it and it said "If this shirt offends you, you need a history lesson." I bought it and put it on... got quite a few compliments. So yes, Bristol is still Bristol. Guess they don't want to tick off their fans. Attendance is down and they don't want to make it worse.2 points

Kinda a slow start, but I realize they have to establish the characters and all in normal life. I don't like the kid much.2 points

I’m glad to see Remington getting back into the handgun market. They make some of the best rifles and shotguns on earth; hopefully that expertise will be seen in their handguns. They had a set-back with the R-51, but it appears they addressed it quickly. Any American manufacturer that can produce a quality product and compete with the imports on price given the obstacles they are hampered with; deserve our attention and business.2 points

Thanks Willis! Yeah we need to get together soon and blast some targets then have a beer somewhere afterward to cool down! Truth be told they had a Hellcat Challenger in the showroom that we tried to buy but they wouldn't sell it. It had been ordered for a friend of the dealership's owner (we were told) and he already had one or two others. They did offer an allocation for a 2016 Hellcat if we wanted one, but with Dodge being flaky and canceling orders on them this past year and raising the price a bit more next year, we decided to hold for the moment. The Hellcat may certainly be overkill but when's the last time you or me did something that wasn't? :D2 points

Not going to be a very long series. How long can some Californians last against zombies without firearms? Or worse yet, how are they able to kill zombies when the guns are all locked up in their storage containers.2 points

How picky are you? Even the cheap 20-30 dollar scales are within less than 1 grain of accuracy. I have a cheap one and getting good results requires 3 things: 1) a solid, flat, hard surface. No give, no movement, level surface. 2) I put the case in the exact same place each time. Mine has a square surface for weighing and putting the case in the extreme corner works for me. 3) if you didn't know, no wind/air current/ other disturbances and external vibration, etc. If you want better than 1/2 a grain accuracy or so, you have to throw a lot more money at the problem and get a better scale. The same as above to use it with good results. Balance etc also require no external disturbances (harder, they are larger and more prone to disturbances... you can't just invert a see thru plastic bin over one and kill all the air currents for example) and flat surface and all that. They also require more time, usually cost more, and are prone to human error (mentally mess up reading the thing... its hard to do that on a digital 5.25 for example type readout). Not a big fan of them.1 point

Kinda slow getting started which is understandable for character building I guess. The wife said that I'm gross because I thought the female zombie in the church was sorta hot ;)1 point

I started on a 550, it is the best one for multiple calibers, taking your time to do it right and being trouble free. Put an old sock on the handle to prevent blisters ... Slow is smooth ... Smooth is fast. It is a great press that can be passed down generations.1 point

I wish I had one. The largest caliber I can offer it at the moment is a .30-06.1 point

NA$CAR has made the "folks are staying home to watch us on TV" argument for a number of years now...in the face of viewership numbers that have fallen by double-digit rates every year. If all those folks who aren't filling a seat at the track were watching on their DVR and big-screen HDTVs, those numbers would be heading in a different direction. They alienated the older fan base in pursuit of that all-important 18-35 group years back - and they accomplished that shift. They also inherited the attention deficit and what-have-you-done-for-me today attitude of their treasured young-ins, and forgot that the older group they kicked to the curb accounted for more disposable income. Their racing product sucks - this coming from someone who was a competitor at both the LMS (now Xfinity) and Grand National (now somebody's Cup) level for over 10 years. That's why hte seats are empty. But Daytona doesn't care - the TV deal has lined their pockets, so they could care less if there is not a single fan cross the gate - that's the track-owners deal...and since they own about 50% of the venues, well...1 point

I used to never miss a NASCAR race, on T.V. or live, until Brian France destroyed it. I would rather go and watch "paint dry" then what NASCAR has turned into. :2cents: A few years back you couldn't get a ticket to Bristol unless you had connections or paid a scalper. Now they have empty seats. I'm glad to see what's left of the fans still remember their roots and show Brian France what he can do with PC rules.1 point

@Mike.357 $199 Wouldn't have bought it if it cost anything remotely close to a real gun.1 point

Now 2008 will happen again. It's part of a cyclical economy. Maybe I'm just too dense to understand, but we all survived it just fine.1 point

My thoughts(worth at least twice what you are paying for them): I have watched a couple episodes of that "Doomsday Preppers" show and what bugs me is people think they know the exact disaster that is going to happen. The scenario laid out in this thread is entirely possible, but so is a natural disaster, so is some sort of illness/epidemic. Preparing is important. I put zero energy into trying to predict the future.1 point

Sam1 when you said you were getting something different, I wasn't prepared for what I saw behind that counter lol. It really is worth getting it for the same reason you stated "Just to have it"! Definitely a conversation starter :up:1 point

When I was new FFL dealer in 1994, one of my first major purchases was 100 Chinese SKS from SOG @ a whopping $2900.00. I grieved myself of the risk I was taking, I sold each and everyone within 2 weeks at 35% markup, and I was pleased. Bought many more after that. SOG and SKS are special to me  .1 point

I'm still laughing at idjuts video and his fasination with the sixth letter of the alphabet. Very entertaining and most likely intentionally so. And yes I can see the curiosity and novelty aspects of the pistol in question here.1 point

I don't buy into the notion that just because it's a violent movie it will make someone come in the theater and shoot you. If that were the case I would go to a lot of lesbian porn movies. HAAAAAA.1 point

There is a rail on them. About as useful as the overall design  I actually think they're neat, operating system is interesting and the action is simple enough. I think with a better design these would be selling as fast as they could make them. A design you could comfortably hold. Don't forget the ejection port is on the right hand side and pretty easy to block or even totally cover were you to use your middle finger to shoot these as seems sort of intuitive holding them. Mines a novelty too. Bought pretty much the same way for the same reasons. I did fire one round through mine after a fair amount of taunting. Heres mine next to a few other novelty guns.1 point

I am all for reducing the size of government and while I used to be a big supporter of police, some recent events have lessened my support, I hardly consider police to be parasites on society. They do a thankless job for way less than most people earn. as many bad apples as there are now I can't imagine what it would be like with all volunteers.1 point

Worked for USPS for 21 years. Make mistakes? Yep! Every other shipper in the industry make mistakes? Yep! Sorry to say €#%}{? happens. I will pit the delivery record of the post office against any other service. It's cheaper and faster. No, your tax dollars do not substain it. Mistakes happen, show me a business that it doesn't happen.1 point

My experience with USPS is that I receive the package before the tracking updates. :shrug:1 point

Important on guns destined for hard use but most people will never shoot enough for it to be warranted. Most AR owners probably shoot less than 500 rounds a year which is not hard use. Hard use would be 500+ a month or some sort of course shooting 1K+ over a day or two.1 point

I have a macbook pro but I don't really use it. Not that it's bad or does anything wrong but honestly I don't get overly excited about any OS.. they all do some things really well and they all suck equally in something else. I've used PC longer.. so it's just a familiar experience.1 point

As Ol' George Strait sang: "That's why I hang my hat in Tennessee." In California, the state's Penal Code reserves most gun ownership and carry issues at the State level, not the local level. Three times in my lifetime San Francisco has tried to ban guns only to be overturned immediately by the state appelate court system for this reason. Like others here I can't see why the locals are acting against large capacity magazines when they are already outlawed at the state level. Maybe they ran out of the really important stuff to outlaw - like declawing cats and using plastic grocery bags. Or like Garufa says maybe they're after the ones made before they were grandfathered in - which tends to put LA Ordinances into conflict with state law. I left California 19 years ago because I could see the ship listing heavily to the left and I wanted off before it sank. The latest trend is for the State's 43% conservative minority to pack up and leave like I did. I just hope I live long enough to see the situation arise out there where the only people left to pay for all the entitements are the people receiving them.1 point

I once bought a gun collection from a lady who inherited them from her deceased brother. I went to her house and gave her the approximate retail value of each piece. I explained to her that selling items at retail involved a good deal of work. Turns out she just wanted them gone, and seemed happy for me to get them. She asked what I'd offer for them, I gave her a number well below what they were worth. She seemed pleased and accepted the offer, with full knowledge the guns were worth much more than I paid for them. In the end, she got rid of the guns without a hassle, and I got a screaming deal on some pieces I otherwise never would have owned. I say all that to say this: be honest and upfront with this lady. Explain to her the real value of what she has, and that you aren't in a position to pay retail for it. You just might get a deal as well.1 point

in My 2011 I Supercrew I averaged 12MPH no matter how I drove it, for me I did not buy the truck for fuel economy, but the 2017 Eco Boost will have more torque and horsepower than the last Raptors and get better fuel economy I am definitely getting one I just hope the Supercrew comes out along side with the cab model and not a year later Having said that if I still owned a current gen Raptor I would keep it, and not trade it in they are awesome trucks and I miss mine but I do love what I traded it in for this is all the V8 I need believe me1 point
