  1. I have only been a member for like a month. Since then I have figured out how I need to spend my next 15 paychecks through gun purchases, prepping needs, knives, ammo, and accessories. I didn't even entertain the idea of owning a Polaris with a turret, shooting at a drone, or filling a hot tub full of tannerite just to see what happens (the last one is a lie...it's a bucket list item). My wife is already butthurt *TM warpig enterprises* about the purchase of a flame thrower this year and YOU GUYS AREN'T HELPING! And I thank you for that. Carry on...

  8. And people think fences are expensive... Empire probably makes fencing look cheap ;) Texas has been talking about a fence for years - only they're talking about putting it on the northern border.

  11. I'm a Glock guy so when I ran across a 17 in the new gray finish I had to have one of the ugly things. I like the new color. Since I can't leave anything alone I did a couple things to it today. Did a little trigger work, installed stainless parts, FO front sight and decided to polish the barrel. Doesn't look too bad. They also had a few models in Barney Purple but I'm not that far gone yet. Bad cell pics.

  12. I lower the seat when I'm done...one less argument to have with the misses...but after 20 years of complaining, she still won't put the fresh roll back on the holder instead of balancing it on the empty one...life's not fair, LOL.     BTW...my best bathroom prank ever was unrolling a few feet of paper and drawing a spider on a sheet and rolling it back up. She's deathly afraid of spiders and I never heard the end of that one.

  13. Out in public I raise the seat if there is not a wall unit. Am I the only that will admit at home I sit to take a wiz? Now I do wiz outside way more than waste water. Much more relaxing and 9 out of 10 times I am taking a dump any way.

  14. Simply if you hang out here, and are not apart of any the Forbes lists, I suggest you learn M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N.  If you are man of faith, the temptation of #10 of the 10 commandments are hard to resist, I have sinned a lot over the years due to this site.    For you lazy, low information, or don't care people, #10 is don't covet your neighbors <fill in the blank>.  And if you still need a little help, Webster says covet = yearn to possess or have something.

  16.   In it's own slightly different way, it's a bit more frightening as ONE SECOND AFTER. The plot is easily thought of as realistically possible.   Not to make light of it, but it really puts me in mind of Chuck Norris and Invasion! USA! from many years back.

  18. BTW, butthurt cannot be a trademarked word. I was getting butthurt, and calling it that, for a very, very long time.   You have a lot of catching up to do if you are just getting started. Not sure if you have enough time left now because we have 54 days left before the first major incident that might spark the up and coming civil, socioeconomic, race war.

  21. And, it might be worth discussing whether or not a fence or a wall represents an actual tool or if instead it's a political prop. In some cases these folks are traveling dozens of miles across inhospitable terrain. Do we really believe a couple of strands of wire - or even a larger fence will actually turn folks around?
    2 points
  22. I'm sure you could string some barbed wire up. I'm just suggesting that this proposal should likely be viewed from a pandering perspective as opposed to an actual policy persoective.

  26. I found some numbers.   In 2014 there were 623 people killed at the hands of approximately 900,000 police officers in the US. It does not say whether these shoots were good or bad. That works out to .00069 deaths per officer.   There is an estimated 11.1 million people who carry a firearm for self defense in the US. That is ~11,100,000. And those 11.1 million people killed, on average, 76 people a year. That works out to .00000685 deaths per person carrying a firearm for self defense.    You are 100x more likely to be killed by a LE officer than by someone who carries a firearm for self defense. Even if these number are off by 50% you are more likely to be wrongfully killed by a LE officer than a person carrying a gun for self defense. So those "experts" are full of it.   But if you don't compare the numbers to each other and actually look at the percentages you realize that the actual chance of being killed by a person carrying a gun for self defense is nearly a statistical improbability. You are probably more likely to be killed by fireworks, drowning, car accident, stroke or heart disease than by LE or a person carrying a gun for self defense.   references: http://crimepreventionresearchcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Concealed-Carry-Permit-Holders-Across-the-United-States.pdf http://www.nleomf.org/facts/enforcement/ http://www.gunfacts.info/gun-control-myths/concealed-carry/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_killings_by_law_enforcement_officers_in_the_United_States,_2014   But even if my numbers are off by 50% your are still more likely to die at the hands of LE than at the hand of a person who carries a firearm for self defense.

  28. So I just picked this up. *I haven't fired it yet.* Overall, I think I'll like it, especially with the KAK Industries Arm Stabilizer. A few gripes...some minor, some not. 1. What everyone talks about with this gun...the Ambi-Safety. CZ has been making great guns for a long time. How this part made it from Design to Production is beyond me. Anyway, easily fixable. 2. Trigger. Not great. Maybe it will get better with use. Nothing I can't work around, I guess. 3. Mag Release. A couple of things here. One, I REALLY wish they had went with something closer to the AR design, but OK, I'll run it like an AK. Two (and my more serious gripe), the mags will not reliably drop free when the bolt is locked back. They will on a closed bolt, but not locked back. So, traditional Emergency / Combat / Slide Lock-Back Reloads are out the window. This is my biggest gripe about the gun. If the mags dropped free when at lock-back, I could come up with a fresh mag, thumb (or trigger finger) the mag release, insert the fresh mag, run the bolt and press on. Alas, no. Anyway, the gun feels good, the sights are great, mags are cheap, and who doesn't like the "MP5 charging handle slap?" :) This setup (minus the optic) cost me $999.99 OTD locally. UPDATE: Altered the safety...perfectly fine now...took 15 minutes. Trigger? No, it doesn't break like glass, but it has gotten better with use and proper lubrication.

  31. Just finished reading "Day of Wrath" by William Forstchen - in one sitting - it is riveting. Hope you are already familiar with his "One Second After" This is far better in my opinion.   I have read many of the SHTF novels, but this one seems the most plausable and terrifying. I highly recommend it.     http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1625781547?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

  33. I think Day of Wrath should be required reading by every member of every school board in Georgia.  I thought about sending a copy to each member of my school board, but they would probably take it as a threat.   Current Georgia Code* allows school boards to authorize people with training and a Georgia Weapons Carry License to be able to carry in their schools.  It is a simple way to provide armed defense of schools.  The law is general enough that the requirements could easily be met, if the school board would just consider it.  Mine won't.   *As opposed to the actual law that removes the prohibition against carrying in schools by license-holders altogether, but the Governor has conspired and manipulated so as not be recognized.

  40. I've been falling in love with all the AA pistol powders. I prefer it in light loads, especially, where charge weights can get kind kind of squirrelly with powders of larger particulate size when using a Lee Pro Auto Disc measure. The AA stuff is like fine sand in an hourglass and measures beautifully. I still have many other powders and will continue to use them, but pretty much just buy AA when I see it, and am fine "burning" through the rest of the stuff without replenishment. I don't feel I'll be at a disadvantage when I load the last of my HP38/231 stash. There are SO many good options out there that any one or two going away won't cause me too much pain. I see Ramshot powders a lot more than I did 5-6 years ago, and have had a few good results with things like Zip and Trueblue, Enforcer and Silhouette. I don't prefer them to the AA stuff mainly because there seems to be less data available for them. For AA, I use #2 pretty much wherever Titegroup and HP38/231 is used, like a light target load for wheelguns. #5 for mid range auto loads where Titegroup would be at its max pressure. In those cases, it seems #5 has a little more breathing room. #7 for stronger 40 and 10mm loads. #9 for heavy Magnum revolver stuff where I also use 296/h110 and 2400.

  41.   You did mention ammo but to be specific you really need to go out and but every box of any brand and type at any price of .22LR ammo. Can't believe you missed that one. Better hurry before it's too late. Maybe want to get some green tip .556 while you're at it.

  42. Here is a plan that solves two problems.   First change our tax code to a flat tax on all purchases. This would generate a lot more income than our current system. It would get those here illegally, the drug dealers, those on the government tit and anyone else who doesn't report their income now.   And part of the flat tax would be to get rid of the IRS then move all IRS agents to the border between us and Mexico. With 110,000 agents now on the border that means we can put an agent on the ground every 100 yards around the clock.   And honestly as much as I hate, and despise any type of war, a war between Mexico and the US would be the best thing for the US. At least then we will use our military power and strength to secure the border rather than a few strands of barbed wire that doesn't stop anyone. When, not if, we get attacked in a major way it will be by people who have crossed our southern border to get here and part of keeping the bad guys out also keeps out all others which would help Americans get the jobs they need to survive and thrive.

  46. And I don't mean to paint LE in a bad light either. There is approximately 1 in 511,000 chance that you are lawfully killed by law enforcement which is 82x as more likely than being struck by lightening in their lifetime, 1 in 6,250. So statistically you should be struck by lightening 82 times before being killed by law enforcement. And the chance of you being illegally killed by law enforcement is such a statistically small sample that it should never even be feared as a way to die.

If there are legislators there, they probably didn't have the stomach to list themselves... Except for maybe Harris out of Memphis, but even he's not on the list.
