I have only been a member for like a month. Since then I have figured out how I need to spend my next 15 paychecks through gun purchases, prepping needs, knives, ammo, and accessories. I didn't even entertain the idea of owning a Polaris with a turret, shooting at a drone, or filling a hot tub full of tannerite just to see what happens (the last one is a lie...it's a bucket list item). My wife is already butthurt *TM warpig enterprises* about the purchase of a flame thrower this year and YOU GUYS AREN'T HELPING! And I thank you for that. Carry on...8 points

And people think fences are expensive... Empire probably makes fencing look cheap ;) Texas has been talking about a fence for years - only they're talking about putting it on the northern border.3 points

I'm a Glock guy so when I ran across a 17 in the new gray finish I had to have one of the ugly things. I like the new color. Since I can't leave anything alone I did a couple things to it today. Did a little trigger work, installed stainless parts, FO front sight and decided to polish the barrel. Doesn't look too bad. They also had a few models in Barney Purple but I'm not that far gone yet. I lower the seat when I'm done...one less argument to have with the misses...but after 20 years of complaining, she still won't put the fresh roll back on the holder instead of balancing it on the empty one...life's not fair, LOL. BTW...my best bathroom prank ever was unrolling a few feet of paper and drawing a spider on a sheet and rolling it back up. She's deathly afraid of spiders and I never heard the end of that one.2 points

Out in public I raise the seat if there is not a wall unit. Am I the only that will admit at home I sit to take a wiz? Now I do wiz outside way more than waste water. Much more relaxing and 9 out of 10 times I am taking a dump any way.2 points

Simply if you hang out here, and are not apart of any the Forbes lists, I suggest you learn M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N. If you are man of faith, the temptation of #10 of the 10 commandments are hard to resist, I have sinned a lot over the years due to this site. For you lazy, low information, or don't care people, #10 is don't covet your neighbors <fill in the blank>. And if you still need a little help, Webster says covet = yearn to possess or have something.2 points

In it's own slightly different way, it's a bit more frightening as ONE SECOND AFTER. The plot is easily thought of as realistically possible. Not to make light of it, but it really puts me in mind of Chuck Norris and Invasion! USA! from many years back.2 points

BTW, butthurt cannot be a trademarked word. I was getting butthurt, and calling it that, for a very, very long time. You have a lot of catching up to do if you are just getting started. Not sure if you have enough time left now because we have 54 days left before the first major incident that might spark the up and coming civil, socioeconomic, race war.2 points

And, it might be worth discussing whether or not a fence or a wall represents an actual tool or if instead it's a political prop. In some cases these folks are traveling dozens of miles across inhospitable terrain. Do we really believe a couple of strands of wire - or even a larger fence will actually turn folks around?2 points

I'm sure you could string some barbed wire up. I'm just suggesting that this proposal should likely be viewed from a pandering perspective as opposed to an actual policy persoective.2 points

I found some numbers. In 2014 there were 623 people killed at the hands of approximately 900,000 police officers in the US. It does not say whether these shoots were good or bad. That works out to .00069 deaths per officer. There is an estimated 11.1 million people who carry a firearm for self defense in the US. That is ~11,100,000. And those 11.1 million people killed, on average, 76 people a year. That works out to .00000685 deaths per person carrying a firearm for self defense. You are 100x more likely to be killed by a LE officer than by someone who carries a firearm for self defense. Even if these number are off by 50% you are more likely to be wrongfully killed by a LE officer than a person carrying a gun for self defense. So those "experts" are full of it. But if you don't compare the numbers to each other and actually look at the percentages you realize that the actual chance of being killed by a person carrying a gun for self defense is nearly a statistical improbability. You are probably more likely to be killed by fireworks, drowning, car accident, stroke or heart disease than by LE or a person carrying a gun for self defense. references: http://crimepreventionresearchcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Concealed-Carry-Permit-Holders-Across-the-United-States.pdf http://www.nleomf.org/facts/enforcement/ http://www.gunfacts.info/gun-control-myths/concealed-carry/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_killings_by_law_enforcement_officers_in_the_United_States,_2014 But even if my numbers are off by 50% your are still more likely to die at the hands of LE than at the hand of a person who carries a firearm for self defense.2 points

So I just picked this up. *I haven't fired it yet.* Overall, I think I'll like it, especially with the KAK Industries Arm Stabilizer. A few gripes...some minor, some not. 1. What everyone talks about with this gun...the Ambi-Safety. CZ has been making great guns for a long time. How this part made it from Design to Production is beyond me. Anyway, easily fixable. 2. Trigger. Not great. Maybe it will get better with use. Nothing I can't work around, I guess. 3. Mag Release. A couple of things here. One, I REALLY wish they had went with something closer to the AR design, but OK, I'll run it like an AK. Two (and my more serious gripe), the mags will not reliably drop free when the bolt is locked back. They will on a closed bolt, but not locked back. So, traditional Emergency / Combat / Slide Lock-Back Reloads are out the window. This is my biggest gripe about the gun. If the mags dropped free when at lock-back, I could come up with a fresh mag, thumb (or trigger finger) the mag release, insert the fresh mag, run the bolt and press on. Alas, no. Anyway, the gun feels good, the sights are great, mags are cheap, and who doesn't like the "MP5 charging handle slap?" :) This setup (minus the optic) cost me $999.99 OTD locally. UPDATE: Altered the safety...perfectly fine now...took 15 minutes. Trigger? No, it doesn't break like glass, but it has gotten better with use and proper lubrication.1 point

His buddy is an idiot. Trade a Beretta 15 rd M9 for a 6 shot Rossi? There's not a chance in hell. I wouldn't trade a semi in for a revolver on a security job anyways, but I definitely wouldn't trade a Beretta for anything less than a Smith or Ruger. Sent from the backwoods1 point

I own some of the best Smith & Wesson revolvers ever made and even carried them as a Police Officer; I love them, they are second to none. But there is no way I would consider any revolver for one second over my Full Size M&P 40 for a Security Duty Weapon. I have to assume he looking at them because they are cheap ($275 new). Nope, you can’t touch any of the big boys for anywhere near that. But if he just wants a cheap full size revolver I would suggest he save up another $55 and get the .357Mag model. He’ll get his money back quicker when he sells it.1 point

I still have the original safariland speed strips that I bought back about 10 years ago. They have been reloaded and pried apart hundreds of times. The Tuff strips made it through about five drills before they slit. The tuff strips are fine but do nit hold up well to practice.1 point

Speed loaders for me. I use the HK's and never had a problem with them. I use both the 5 and 6 round 357 mag/38 spl. versions, depending on the gun I am carrying/shooting.1 point

Seriously, Phil Valentine has the right idea on the illegal immigration issue in my opinion. You don't deport anyone. You simply "demagnetize" the United States. This means you make penalties so tough for doing business with illegals that no one will hire them or trade with them, and they'll deport themselves.1 point

I can give you a good example, which is my own situation. I am sure someone will want to argue that a person should keep a car forever, or pay cash up front, or one of many other reasons, but that isn't my criteria. If that is how you like to do it, good on you, but that isn't me. As long as everyone understands that my criteria is I prefer to have a new car every few years and this is a second car so the mileage is not an issue, then at least for me, this makes sense to lease. I probably could use it for my business, but that isn't my main intention. So to compare (the payments are based on deals I am negotiating and are pretty close to final numbers). I am not going into Net Cap Cost, MF's or Residuals for the lease. Lease is 36 Months/12,000 miles. Lease: 2016 Audi A6 - ~MSRP 63k. - 3k down - Payment $630 month (all Maintenance included) - Total 3 year cost: $25,680 Purchase: Used 2014 BMW 535i (35k miles), ~ $40k. 7k down - Payment $606 month. (Maintenance to 50k) - Total 3 Year cost: $28,816. After 3 years, I would still owe $14,544. Car would be worth ~ $16k. I could put more or less down on the BMW, but it comes out to about the same amount after 3 years. If I am only planning to keep the car for three years, then in my case, a lease makes more sense.1 point

None of the people listed are legislators... judging by there affiliations, they are mostly known gun grabbers. If there are legislators there, they probably didn't have the stomach to list themselves... Except for maybe Harris out of Memphis, but even he's not on the list. This smells fishy. This is gonna be real "productive"... :bs: :waiting:1 point
