  1. You know what, if someone wants to refuse to cook for me, I am 100 percent OK with it. I don't every want to force someone to cook my food if they don't want to. The number 1 rule is, always be nice to the cook.

  3. Without a religious basis, what's the point?     That's not meant in either a facetious or preachy manner.  I'm simply curious as to other peoples' thinking.  I can look at it from a couple of different viewpoints, but I really find myself coming back to Fyodor Dostoyevsky who may have had a valid point when he said that, "without religion, everything is permitted."

  5.   My religious beliefs or lack thereof are something I think a lot about. I used to be religious I guess, I was raised in a church going family, I was an alter boy as a kid actually lol. To paraphrase Mother Terresa, I haven't felt the touch of god in years. I can pinpoint right down to pretty much the minute that either he left, or I left or whatever. Some people say I'm being carried, but 16 years is a log time to see one set of footprints in the sand.     So what keeps me on the straight an narrow? I have to answer to the man who (hypothetically) shaves my face in the morning. He lives in the mirror. Thats it.

  6. I've yet to meet an atheists/agnostic that's more of a nihilist than I. Honestly, I believe every moral person, regardless of whether they are religious or atheist, has the same motivation; self-interest. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I547 using Tapatalk

  8. What is truly sad about all of this is it takes something like this for things to change, if it even does. Had this not happened all those armed guards would be in handcuffs which is awful. Anyone should be able to use whatever tools they feel they need without anyone else telling them they cannot. It is like telling a surgeon he can't use a scalpel even though it is the best tool for the job. I wish they could have been armed with anything and everything they need to be safe here. No service member should die at the hands of the enemy at home especially when misguided policies prevent them from defending themselves.

  9. Thank you for a GREAT MATCH!!!   I had a FUN-TASTIC time! It was so awesome shooting with y'all. So much stuff going on, from the "hand shake pew-pew" to the "crouching-screaming pinoy style". Then, there's the "oops, accidental mag release mode" to the "gangster style". And, the "green laser and flashlight combi open gun". Finally, Joe's "fast-feet WTheck (should I go back?) LOL ..... good times

  12. Words can't describe how proud I am of my older brother. I get misty eyed just thinking about it.   My brother has been through hell and back while in the Army. Just 48 hours after enlisting in the FL National Guard he was told he would be going on a 9-10 month deployment to Africa. During his 2nd tour in Iraq his Humvee drove over an IED and he was the only one in the vehicle to survive. Despite that, he recently decided to serve our country again my joining the guard.   He was supposed to be my best man at my wedding in October but won't be able to join. I'm just proud to call him my brother and I wanted to share.   http://www.baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/content/news/articles/bn9/2015/7/23/soldier_deployment_f.html#.VbF7VPLGlQI.mailto

  13. Silencershop will begin offering a dealer program on 8/3.  You'll be able to buy from a link to their website and the item will be shipped to your dealer of choice (if they participate). They have not shared the price list yet but I am excited to be able to offer the diverse selection more easily than I have in the past.  They will have to collect sales tax but I am hopeful with their volume that they may be able to beat the current distributor's pricing.  If the margin allows it may be an opportunity to buy from them and pick from their large selection and still save a few bucks in the process.    I will share more when I know more just wanted to give you guys a heads up.   Thank you!

  15.   No worries.  Just to make clear, I don't take this personal and hope those who disagree with me don't take it personal.  This is just what I believe.  I have no doubt most of us who disagree on this could go have beers and probably have a hell of a time.

  16. "Since gold plating your testicles is a “medical impossibility” even for the best of doctors, the El Salvadorian gangster’s DIY attempt left him with no chance at all."   "Medical impossibility". I don't know why but that phrase is just killing me!    Think of all the higher education that went into this article. Some kid went to journalism school only to one day find himself in front of some other guy who spent a DECADE in school, and the course of their interaction is going to be based on the 'medical impossibility' of gold plating ones nads.

  18. OK, believe it or not I am coming.    I had not per-warned Nashville that I am coming next week, as they cancelled the last trip. (they claimed it was the snow).   So all the  suggestions on things to things do I got a few months back, I am going to try to get as many of them in next week starting with the meet up.   I am going to be getting to the Sheraton Music City just a few blocks away earlier in the day.

  19. At the end of the day, what another adult decides to do in their life is no business of mine unless it directly affects me or my pocketbook.  If someone wants to cheat on their wife, that is on them.  I don't want them telling me how to live my life and I don't need to judge them on living theirs.     I think everyone needs to worry less about what other people are doing in their personal lives and worry about themselves.  I guess that is asking for too much these days.

  34. We had supper last night at The Corner Pub in MJ. We ended up parking at the other end near Papa Johns and we walked past the entry door I had to do a double take their posting was gone. So after after we ate we again went past tbe entry door one of the drivers was walking back in so I asked him why the posting was gone? He said too many people complained so they took it down. Kind of wondering if it was a corporate directive or a store based decision.

  35. Well, Haslam has found a way not to address arming these guys.  Heard on the news last night that he ordered all storefront recruiting stations closed and moved to armories instead of hardening the soft target, he just moved them to another soft target.  While some armories may be behind gates and some security established I know the one here in Clarksville is not all that secure.

  39.   At the risk of fulfilling Grand Torino's prognostication above, I think modern society has transcended the needs for controls based in religion.  Goes back to Voltaire and the line of "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."  At one point, society needed God to provide the framework.  Now, not so much.   Religion was a big deal when King's ruled through divine right and needed rules and laws based in religion to legitimize them, but in 21st century democracies, society has evolved where we don't need a religious themed reason for every rule.  We can recognize that it's in the interest of society to have rules and what not so we don't become savages who destroy themselves.  The line on what those rules are ebbs and flows, but it doesn't require religion for enough people to come together and decide some things should be prohibited.   That's not to say religion doesn't have a place, but it's best value is individual and within the faith...anything beyond what is needed for the basic functioning of society (not to be confused for what we think it should be based on our own personal beliefs) should not get copied and pasted in both word and effect into legislation that will beholden those of different faith's and non-believers to it.

  40. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian and used to be agnostic, but I know of plenty of people that live their life according to non aggression and non coercion, not because of God but because they understand how they would want to be treated by others and strive to live by that axiom. 44. I'd rather stick with .380 just because I don't want to add another caliber to my stash.   I need to handle some and revisit Hickok45 for his thoughts too and generally do some shopping. I don't think I can go wrong because there's a lot on nice small pistols out there.   A used LCP would be a good bet too since I'm likely to treat it a little rough over buying a new Pico.

  45. No. It will get you close, but it won't do 100% of the work for you.   Lasers shoot in a straight line.  Bullets are subject to gravity and aerodynamics and other things.     You can get a casual bore-sighting for free @ academy, for one place.  Might be other places too.  Theirs is not at range, they use a special "target" at short range but it gets you on pie-plate at 100, maybe 200 yards.    The type you are talking about gets you within an inch or two usually.

  47. Yep, adultery is hard to get a divorce on alone but in my divorce I didn't just go after wife for that. I had her on desertion of me and my two sons and I even got the guy she left me for charged with Alienation of Affection which is an old old law that is still on the books in Tennessee and he was fined $2,500.00 in my divorce decree when I was given everything I ask for including child support and full custody of both my sons. She got her clothes and her car. That was it...............
