Meh. Don't agree with the site; don't go there. Kinda like TGO. There are plenty who would love to do the same to folks here, I'm sure.6 points

I took a vow 20 years ago to remain faithful to my wife until death do us part. It is a shame that in today's society most people's word is worthless. You can damn religion all you want, but the absence of it is the root of this country's downfall.4 points

Yep, adultery is hard to get a divorce on alone but in my divorce I didn't just go after wife for that. I had her on desertion of me and my two sons and I even got the guy she left me for charged with Alienation of Affection which is an old old law that is still on the books in Tennessee and he was fined $2,500.00 in my divorce decree when I was given everything I ask for including child support and full custody of both my sons. She got her clothes and her car. That was it............... :up:4 points

Personally I would love to see these guys/gals put behind bars. Who are they to be the moral police? The same goes for these guys putting up viruses, anti-virus popup ads, you know the ones that start of "YOU'VE BEEN HACKED!! and install themselves when you press ok. The only way anyone should be getting into anyone's personal information is though a warrant, and for that they better have a better reason than cheating. To me cheating is between the two involved in a relationship, if they feel like doing it so be it. I get so tired of people getting into everyone's personal business, like Miranda and Blake; who cares why it happened, who cares who cheated on who or with who, that's between them not all these busybodies.4 points

We had supper last night at The Corner Pub in MJ. We ended up parking at the other end near Papa Johns and we walked past the entry door I had to do a double take their posting was gone. So after after we ate we again went past tbe entry door one of the drivers was walking back in so I asked him why the posting was gone? He said too many people complained so they took it down. Kind of wondering if it was a corporate directive or a store based decision.3 points

I finished this build back in April or May or something. Special thanks to Gordon for making my buffer less than 2 oz. I haven't ran this gun with the new Syrac gas block on it, but it has to run a little better than that cheap POS $20 adjustable gas block I had on it when I went out the range the first time. The rifle ran fine before the swap. I did modify the trigger springs to lighten up the pull, but it would not hurt if I polished the grit out of the trigger. The trigger pull is nothing to write home about, especially compared to my current project.... Anyways, if you wasted two minutes of your life taking that rot-gut excuse of a write up, you deserve a few pics to make up.2 points

if this is a range gun that will never see social work, then these are all good choices. I'll get flamed for it and it is simply mho but if you EVER think you will have to fight for your life or defend your family or clan with this rifle, spend the extra money and buy a fighting rear sight, like the Troy or Daniels Defense (have several and like others have said, started with lower end stuff that looked great and felt great, but discovered that these things will fail on you when you need them the most) The DD will hold zero and repeat settings accurately each and every time. It will not loosen up with heating and cooling cycles, and it will take a beating like no other and keep zero. I know it's a lot of money, but it's worth it.2 points

They are on private property. So long as the property owner doesn't ask them to leave, they can be there with long guns. From the info I heard, none of the business at the location in Murfreesboro complained, so the police have no option but to leave them be.2 points

It's not just an immoral act 21 states have laws making adultery illegal. I do beleive TN is one of them. Anyone who would cheat on their spouse is lower than the :poop: I scrape off my shoe.2 points

Been trying to stay away from this one, but.... I just can't do it. :surrender: Here's my problem with the whole thing: Okay, so... no reasonable suspicion, no probable cause.... and I'm guessing no search warrant? As far as I know, there's no limit set on how many guns a person can own, even in California. If you're legal to own one, you could own a million of 'em. No? So, it seems to me that the residence should have simply been secured, and some attempt made to contact family members. If that was unsuccessful, then a court should have been consulted to decide what to do and an order issued. Other than that, the police had no business going into the house. ( The body wasn't even found there. ) As for the guns... would they be treating it the same if he'd had 1200 pairs of shoes? I bet not. It'll be interesting to hear if the guy does have any family members who can take possession of the guns, and if so, what sort of legal actions they may have to take to get them back, or actions regarding them being taken in the first place. Then again, given how the news media is about ( not ) telling the whole story, there may be more to this that would change my mind. Who knows? Oh, and one last thing... Would anybody here be okay with the police setting up shop at your local shooting range, and checking the serial number of every gun that comes in there to make sure it wasn't stolen or been involved in a crime? Oh, and also verifying how/where you got them? Just curious.2 points

So I was surfing the web the other day an seen where someone else had made a rear sight for their AK. Seemed easy enough so I gave it a try. I traded an AK FCG for a Saiga top cover which is a little thicker. The top cover on my Draco has ZERO movement so I knew if I could figure out how to attach it I knew it would work. This increased the sight radius from 10" to 17.5" which is more than a standard AR carbine. It took me a few prototypes but I finally figured it out. Then once I had the holes for the sight worked out I dimpled the right ear so I could actually zero the rear sight and have the adjustments stay. And here is a mock up. And one I was sure everything was good I drilled more holes in the sight and added some plates for the screws. And even though I do not have pictures I disassembled the sight and then heated the wings and plates to red hot and dunked them in used oil to give it a nice dark blued/black finish. After that I drilled the top cover and installed it after I made sure everything was lined up. And here is what it looks like. And once I am 100% positive everything is good I will have it permanently welded to the top cover. And if anyone is interested I can tell you what parts you need. You can build this exact same setup for under $30 using a brand new sight. I was able to trade for my parts and everything works great thanks so Smith who supplied the top covers for me. Edited to add instructions: If you plan on welding you use steel but you could also use aluminum to so the same. In addition to the tools and supplies below I also used: A hammer A flat tip screw driver A few punches A marker A vice A file I also used a compressor, angle grinder and bench grinder but this can be done using all hand tools. Here is the 3/4" mild steel square tubing. I bought it at Home Depot but should be at most home improvement stores. Crown Bolt 3/4 in. x 36 in. Plain Steel Square Tube with 1/16 in. Thick-40320 - The Home Depot It is 3/4" square and 1/16" thick. As far as the actual sight I have found the cheap knockoff I got worked great. So any A2 style sight will work but verify the hole diameters before drilling the holes in the square tube. Here is an example of the rear sight I used. Brand New Tactical Detachable Carry Handle with Dual Aperture A2 Sight Black | eBay And if you want even simpler you can use an A1 style rear sight. I needed a way to attach the sight to the top cover so I used this. Crown Bolt 1/2 in. 36 in. Plain Steel Flat Bar with 1/8 in. Thick-43970 - The Home Depot Those are the steel pad that are drilled and tapped for the screws to come through the top cover and thread into to hold the sight in place. To drill and tap all the holes I used this. DEWALT # 36 Drill and 6 in. x 32 NC Tap Set-DWA1400 - The Home Depot And here are the screws I used. The Hillman Group #6-32 x 1/2 in. Slotted Round-Head Machine Screws (30-Pack)-944 - The Home Depot I did have to thin the head a little to clear the bolt carrier. Once I verified the size of the sight shaft I then drill the holes in the square tubing for the shaft. First I marked, with a punch, the centerline of the holes which is ~.250" above the bottom of the tube when measured from the outside. The first hole is .140" in diameter and should go through both sides. Then through one side I drill another hole that is .215" in diameter. The large hole is for the screw side of the sight and NOT the zero drum side. Once I had the holes drilled I took the sight shaft and put it through the housing like I was going to assemble it. I used the zero drum, with the ball bearing and spring, detent to mark the path of the detent by spinning it around a few times. This left a visible ring you can use for marking the detent holes. Then I split the path up with eight marks for where I wanted the detents and used a punch to start the keep the drill bit from walking. I used a drill bit he same size as the ball detent and made sure I did NOT drill through the housing. I guess you could also use a smaller hole and drill completely through but I prefer my way. Next I cut off the parts we just drilled for the rest of the tube. You can leave as much or as little as you want on either end but realize the tapped blocks need room to hold the rear sight spring in place with a little room for movement. Then I cut out the metal between the two ears. Then I started contouring it for looks/performance. Next I installed the sight shaft then I slide the sight spring, a flat spring with a slight bow in it, under the sight centered it under the sight. I made the slight blocks from the 3/4" wife and 1/8" thick banding that I drilled and tapped for the 6-32 screws. These blocks serve two functions, to hold the sight spring in place so it cannot come out from under the rear sight when switching between short and long range aperatures. They are also used to bolt the sight itself to the top cover. Once the blocks were drilled I placed them back in the sight making sure the sight spring was not binding and marked where to drill the clearance hole in the sight housing. Then once I verified they were in the center I drilled out the clearance holes. For the clearance holes you can either use a larger drill bit, like I did, or you can run the drill bit in and out at angles to slowly open up the clearance hole. I put the sight back together again and then I centered the rear aperature. Once centered I lined up the rear sight aperature with the factory rear sight and finally the front sight. Once I was satisfied everything was lined up I had someone else mark the holes in the top cover. Then I used 6-32 screws to go up through the top cover, through the sight housing and finally into the blocks that were tapped 6-32. Then I screw it all together and check for fitment as well as function (I did have to reduce the height of the screw heads). Then once I was happy I disassembled everything the put some sort of finish on it before reassembling it one final time with blue Loctite. And if I am not clear enough please feel free to ask questions. It did take me three prototypes before I made the fourth, and final, version. And don't be afraid to cut the sight too long because you can always remove material but it is much harder to add. I cut one prototype too short, a second I reversed the left and right side holes in the housing and one I messed up the detent holes. But now I feel confident enough that I will be making these for a few other guns in the future.1 point

Hahaha. Well I know what his answer would be of course. And typically I generally do follow his advice. But truthfully the monthly payment will be roughly the equivalent of what it was when buying the Fusion, which is now paid for (took 2.5 years to pay it off). Monthly payment wise, it is easily doable. Yes, the Fusion is paid for and no car payment beats any car payment. But I have missed having an SUV ever since I got rid of my old one. Yes the smart thing is to save cash and pay cash, but reasonably speaking saving $15,000 over the next three years would not get me a Jeep. In three years my Fusion will be worth less. At 2% or even lower interest, I feel depreciation would probably hit my trade in more than the interest of paying the financing. If I do it, I will owe roughly half of what it is worth, and will make extra payments in order to pay it off in probably 3 years or so. At any point I should owe at least $10,000 less than it is worth so if at any point I needed to "get out" I could comfortably with equity in my favor. It'd be like I had a 40% downpayment ready for it. This post, in my opinion, isn't so much as whether it is the most financially responsible thing to do, but rather how negotiable the dealer really is (how much wiggle room is really there for a new vehicle), whether the "new" Cherokee's are even any good/reliable, and whether there is something major to consider regarding the Jeep that perhaps I haven't thought about.1 point

I had an LCP, but I traded it several months back for a p238. It's not quite as small and light as the LCP, but it's close enough that I'm willing to put up with the slight increases in order to get much better sights -- and with the Hogue wraparound grips, a much better purchase on the gun. I'd probably just keep the Sig and try to make it work. But of the other options you mentioned, I'd probably go with either a 2nd gen LCP or one of the new Custom models. I'd say right now the 2nd generation models can probably be had pretty inexpensively...1 point

I've got a P3AT and have shot an LCP several times. The LCP is much smoother, both in appearance and function. My P3AT is perfectly functional and I carry it a lot, but the LCP is just nicer.1 point

In TN it's a civil, not criminal violation...IOW you cannot be arrested for adultery here. There's no question that adultery is despicable but its just as despicable for the male violator as it is for the female violator. Try to list adultery as cause for divorce in TN and let me know how that works out for you. I'll clue you in...you'll spend a ton of money for little or no satisfaction in a no fault divorce state.1 point

The result would have been the same from a court. No one is going to leave 1200 firearms in a house where the neighbors know the owner is dead. The same people complaining about the Police would be complaining and blaming the Police if they were stolen. You don’t need a warrant to enter a dead person’s home on an investigation. A dead body was found in a car, cause of death is not known, they are going to go check his home. No one as of yet is claiming the guns are illegal or illegally obtained. As of yet it doesn’t sound like they have refused to turn them over to a family member. No, probably not. No. What would you do if you were the Senior Officer on the scene, you have a responsibility to secure the man’s property, you have a responsibility to keep the community safe, and you took both those responsibilities seriously?1 point

I do not believe it is part of the flag code to lower the flag at the White House because a soldier or soldiers are killed while on duty. Although Bush is no longer president, and the nightly news doesn't begin each broadcast with a "death count" anymore, you guys do realize we still have troops fighting and being killed on a regular basis in Afghanistan as well as other places? If the flag was flown at half staff each time a service member died, I expect half staff would be the normal mode of flying. Please don't think I'm discounting the soldiers' lives. I'm not. I'm just saying that if you want to criticize our president, there is more than ample material to use without knitpicky stuff like this.1 point

" I was advised not to wear my uniform in public when I returned from Vietnam, back in the 60's" I was told this also. The lost some respect from me when they used their mailing list to urge members to support an opposition rally against the proposed Medicaid expansion (Insure Tennessee) last February. I like my single issue organizations to stay focused on single issues. If I wanted to be contacted about random conservative political causes, I would have joined the Tea Party and other orgs for that. I'll also second LagerHead's comments on the message they put out. While the facts about how the votes and the process goes down are accurate, the syntax of it can get pretty hostile, which does nothing to aid the public debate. On the plus side, they do keep fantastic records of current legislation, along with each State Rep and Senator and how they vote on gun related issues. It may seem simple, but between the speed of our General Assembly's McSessions, and the fact that TFA is an all volunteer organization, it's pretty impressive. If you're ever in doubt what issues are in play, or where a candidate stands gun wise, TFA will be the place to go for research.1 point

I agree with you. But once again...investigation. Conspiracy requires one act in furtherance; threatening someone’s life does not. The government wasn’t backed down on Yeager. They acted swiftly and did what they should have done. Also, he did a 180, was remorsefully and apologetic. (Of course he did, he saw his business going down the tubes). He also had a good legal counsel to represent him. Had he tried to represent himself as our other local dumbazz; his business, HCP and possibly guns would be gone.1 point

My younger son was Army National Guard 11B infantry. In Infantry School he got training with everything from the M4 to Ma Duece, but no pistol training at all. In Iraq his primary weapon was a 240B mounted on top of a MRAP. He had a M4 for a walking around weapon. For a while he was issued a M9, however he turned it back in by his own choice because he considered it just extra dead weight to carry. As for myself, Army 1972-75, I never got any formal handgun training. However, I did receive some very basic pistol training on the unit level and was required to qualify once per year, but only because I was a driver of a tracked vehicle and the 1911 was supposed to be my issued personal weapon. However, due to a shortage of 1911s in our unit, I was never issued one. While I am all in favor of issuing weapons for our military on U.S. soil, most are not trained in the use of a handgun. By all means issue pistols as needed, but first properly train these troops to use them.1 point
