After moving to East Tennessee from California nineteen years ago, I realized that I had finally made the grade when my wife and I were driving home from a Saturday morning shopping trip this morning. Our shopping trip took us to a gas station, a gun shop, and a grocery store. As we drove along on the way home she suddenly snickered and said: "You realize you're finally a real Tennessean, don't you?" I asked: "Howzat?" She replied: "All you bought this morning was gas, guns, groceries and beer." :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: The devil made me post this.11 points

http://local.boatsexpress.com/Yacht_Transport_Gallatin_TN-p1704797-Gallatin_TN.html You could ask these folks. I've learned of a little test to determine if you are ready for a boat. Place a $100 bill in the toilet and pull the handle. If you don't flinch when the bill disappears down the drain, then you are ready for a boat. :lol:8 points

Lt. Colonel Allen West posted these comments on his timeline on Facebook 9 hours ago. "Yippee, the Confederate battle flag has now been removed from the grounds of the South Carolina State Capitol. And, just like that, it solves the problem of black-on-black crime and killings. Now we’ll see the out-of-wedlock birthrate in the black community drop from 75%. There will be better educational opportunities and schools in South Carolina’s black communities and all across America. The black unemployment rate will drop —especially the almost 40% black teenage unemployment rate. We’ll now see an economic entrepreneurial boon in the inner cities because the Confederate battle flag’s been lowered. And there’ll be no more gangs of blacks beating on whites — as we saw in Ohio recently. Yep, the liberal progressive media shouted "squirrel" and an entire nation went a running. All the yelling and shouting by the crowds was evidence of those who lack grace, respect and dignity. Former South Carolina Gamecocks football coach Lou Holtz remarked that when you get to the end zone, you should act like you’ve been there before. So what does the lowering of the Confederate battle flag have to do with the killing of little seven-year-old Amari Brown in Chicago — anyone know when his funeral is?" For those who aren't familiar with Colonel West, he is a black retired Army officer and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives.6 points

I find it very hard to believe that anyone could in any way Compare Lt. Colonel Allen West as a News guru and to even put his name and Al Sharpton in the same sentence is disgraceful at best. The Colonel serve our country with Pride and Dignity for many years. Al Sharpton has not served anything but racial unrest and is a racist bigot.................. JMHO3 points

Whole grain pasta and bread are no less carby than their more refined counterparts. They're just not generally as empty nutrition wise, and may have a very slightly higher fiber content. - OS2 points

Put it back together and shoot it. You can spend from several hundred dollars up to Turnbull's quote on refinishing it, and when you get it back, it ain't gonna be worth a nickel more than it is right now. If you aren't happy with it as is, you'd be money ahead to sell it and buy an original specimen.2 points

My entire take on LTC West's speeches, public presentations and FB commenting is he's trying to represent himself as a positive role model by means of media attention. He's intelligent and highly motivated and a potential threat to the extreme leftist government and SJW elitist academic leaders and media. However with all of that he's entirely mortal with all of the faults and flaws of the rest of us and very much in a fish bowl. I don't place him in the same category of race baiters such as Jackson or Sharpton but for all of his positive attributes there are the parallels of use of notoriety for objective gain. Links2k exposes a jaded and suspicious view point that might rankle but that's alright in my opinion because I'm of a suspicious nature. Personally I have a high regard for LTC West's service, ability to debate and his articulation.2 points

West just gives it back to them with no regrets. I don't see him as an opportunist. He's calls them out because he can and knows very few white leaders will do so. I'd like to see him in the WH.2 points

My take on it was that he was saying that while removing the flag might have made some folks feel better, it really accomplished nothing substantive for black Americans. - that at the end of the day, all of the problems they had when the flag was up they still had when the flag was down. Agree about corporate pressure bringing the flag down. I think State government saw big corporate bucks going out the window if the flag stayed up.2 points

I once bought a gun collection from a lady who inherited them from her deceased brother. I went to her house and gave her the approximate retail value of each piece. I explained to her that selling items at retail involved a good deal of work. Turns out she just wanted them gone, and seemed happy for me to get them. She asked what I'd offer for them, I gave her a number well below what they were worth. She seemed pleased and accepted the offer, with full knowledge the guns were worth much more than I paid for them. In the end, she got rid of the guns without a hassle, and I got a screaming deal on some pieces I otherwise never would have owned. I say all that to say this: be honest and upfront with this lady. Explain to her the real value of what she has, and that you aren't in a position to pay retail for it. You just might get a deal as well.1 point

While everybody fusses about this and that, comparing episodes and whole seasons, whatever .. I'll just say I've enjoyed the whole thing plenty enough to keep watching. And that's quite a bit actually, as I'm not all that keen on ongoing serial type productions in the first place. - OS1 point

Exactly, they might be better for regular people but some whole grain pasta is actually worse for you than regular pasta but either way pasta is not good for you. The whole grain just does not spike and drop as quickly as refined but it still raises it. Also, follow the serving size if you MUST eat it. Takes the fun out of it eating serving sizes but it is what one MUST do to get, and keep, their sugar under control. Even if you eat 4-5 servings 3-4 times a day it is a whole lot better than eating one or two big, carb laden meals a day. One of the biggest eye openers for me was when I actually measured a serving size of salad dressing. I bet I would put 3-4 servings on a typical salad before.1 point

I just installed the Lighning Bow trigger in my Tavor, man do I love this friggin rifle! it now has a better trigger than any AR I have ever shot, so now with the Trigger pack and the trigger installed I have $450.00 invested. Was it worth it? Hell yes it was I would have paid much more to make the Tavor trigger this good1 point

Do not serve anything that is white, sugar (read labels), potatoes, corns or anything that is sweet to taste (including drinks artificially sweetened). Then after that use the recommended serving sizes and do not guess but weigh the portion, weigh it. And even if he/she has 4-5 servings of DIFFERENT things it will help a lot. And FIBER, FIBER, FIBER!!! For ever gram of fiber a diabetic eats it can knock out a gram of carbs, which can be bad, and sugars, which are bad. And something else that can drop blood sugar is vinegar so use it in salads to extend the salad dressings, which you should be measuring. I cook for my wife often and she watches what she cooks and it takes a little bit to figure out. Took me 2-3 months but I figured out a recipe for muffins my wife likes that is 0 carb and under 160 calories and it isn't a little tiny one either. For non diabetics, or those used to eating sweets, it may not be as sweet as you like but to a person on a restricted diet they are actually pretty damn good. But overall it isn't that hard to figure out what a person can, and cannot, eat. If you want I can PM you my number and talk to you more as a person helping a diabetic and less of a diabetic point of view.1 point

If you dont mind could you post some pictures of it ? If it were me and there wasn't much wrong with the nickel on it I'd just leave it alone. I love listening to this guy who has several different characters and voices he does. He prank calls real businesses and people and records them. It's very funny. One of my favorite characters is Buk Lau who is an Asian guy. In this prank he calls a 7-11 Store which did not have the Coke flavor in stock on the "july 11th free slurpee day" . In real life every July 11th all 7-11 stores give out free Slurpees. This is hilarious ! Click on the link below . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFB6FnxMjHU1 point

Just arrived. I was going to buy a SCAR but I just can't part with THAT much cash. Can't do it. Still spent more than I wanted, but this is pretty sweet. Fits me like a glove after some stock adjustments. Came with (6) stick shims, (3) butt pads and the cheek piece is adjustable for comb as well as cast on/off. Mounted a Nikon P308 scope. Probably deserves a little better glass but......... Gotta level the scope and bore sight it tomorrow as well as tear it down and clean out the factory goop. Not looking forward to that. This rifle is fairly complicated after fooling with AR's for so long. Thank God for youtube. Anyway, here she is. Yep...it sure is blue.1 point

The attributed AW comments in line with his other speeches and presentations as well as being profoundly sarcastic. No, S.C.'s decision to take down the "Rebel Flag" isn't going to solve any of the black communities problems. It was also w/o doubt an act driven more by cooperate motivations than respect for racial feelings. I suspect LTC West's sole point on the flags coming down is that's the only thing that happened. All the other ballyhoo about improved race relations and such is wishful thinking because that serves no political agenda.1 point

Take it out to a field, and pop a 5.56 into it, tell us what happened. In a good weird way, I have always wanted to do that. When I was a kid, I use to shoot spray paint cans, those were a blast with my ole 10 pump power master pellet rifle. Welcome back. I do a lot of business travel, and there is no place like home. I am not a fan of relocation due to work in other states. Just wired that way.1 point

Received mine today. Immaculate! Fit and finish is superb. No problems with the ambidextrous safety. The seller included an extra recoil spring and a few mags as well. It reportedly has had a hundred or so rounds through it. You can't tell it ever had one. :) I hope to shoot it tomorrow and will take some photos later this weekend. I'm thoroughly impressed with it.1 point

Yeah, and can assure you that if you buy a "milspec" buffer tube, regardless of what it's made of, it will fit on a "milspec" stock. A "commercial spec" tube will not. Which is why companies like Magpul make both. So at least in this instance, "milspec" is only used by the industry to specify OD of the tube. And you can see the difference between the cut vs extruded threads, too. And yeah yeah, likely hardly any AR is precisely "milspec" anymore in the sense of the military procurement usage -- indeed, many are arguably better than milspec. - OS1 point

My brother in law bought one of these. I went to the range with him and together we shot 250 rounds of UMC Ball ammo. No malfunctions of any k=ind, quite an accurate pistol as well he conceal carries it with no problems,I was surprised at just how much I liked the pistol1 point

If you are going to be shooting primarily 55gr and 62gr I'd go with a 1 in 9" if you plan on primarily shooting heavier/longer bullets 77gr, tracers, or lead free(long) the 1 in 7" would probably serve you better. Found this video after posting my answer, I believe it explains the differences pretty well, and it's just 3 and a half minutes long. Tech Tip: AR-15 Twist Rates: https://youtu.be/oiXn-1jirWs1 point

I agree we need different view points. Everyone here has probably read to orginal thread by now. Here was my issue. In his post, he said he would defend someone's right to burn a flag, then asked the question "How about you?". So he was looking for different opinons. I know my view points are old fashioned to most, and that violence isn't the answer to everything. I am normally a calm and fairly light hearted person. But there will always be things that touch us down to the very core. Burning that flag is one of them for me. So is insulting my wife or mother. If we are with friends and we are cutting up and joking I'm not gonna just fly off the handle. But if someone on the street calls my wife a slut in an argument we are gonna have major issues. It's a lack of respect issue. I know some people think using violence over a lack of respect is bullshit and I'm fine with that. But we had at least one President and several high ranking politicians who would quickly call a man out to a duel if they were disrespected. So while I value his opinion, you can't ask for differing opinions and then get your panties in a wad when someone gives them to you. I wasn't raised with one damn ounce of backup anywhere in my spine. I am what I am and most of the time I will keep my mouth shut about inflammatory topics, but if you ask, I will give it and I won't back down from my beliefs. I know what you are saying, but I often think that the first shot in a semi-auto may actually be even more reliable as long as there is a round in the chamber. A lot has to happen for a revolver to fire, and a lot has to happen for a semi-auto to cycle. I carry a variety of snub-noses revolvers as a primary, and my favorite is by far a j frame. My all-time favorite was a 1991 640 38 spl that I foolishly sold. I like to carry the Airweights, but the all steel versions shoot so much better.1 point
