Please welcome the newest addition to the family, my Arsenal SLR107FR-31. Business as usual with Atlantic Firearms. Prompt shipping + excellent customer service! I ordered a Ultimak AK optics mount + AimPoint T2 for my build out. This will be my first stab at modifying a AK past its factory configuration. Now, let me introduce you to MY Arsenal SLR107FR! Seriously, people take crap to seriously. I was in Walmart parking lot headed to the gas pumps, had no stop sigh or white stripe on the road. I pull out and this guy slams on his brake, snarls at me and flips me off. He got realky mad when I just smiled and waved. I don't get why everyone is so mad going through life.3 points

Sorry to hear this BG, but there are some real hot heads out there everyday. If all of these people would leave 15 minutes earlier they wouldn't all be in such a hurry. I really feel like a lot of the bad drivers are showing how the culture has affected them. Even truck drivers are not courteous like they were 20 years ago or so. Hardly anyone uses their turn signals anymore either.3 points

About 8 years ago I found an injured Hummingbird near one of my many feeders and I picked it up and was surprised to see it was still alive in the hot weather. I brought it inside and made a small paper bed in a small box for it. Then I thought it might be hungry so I put some nectar in a bottle cap and that little bird was starved. I think she drank about a 1/3 of a cap full only taking brief breaks. I called TWRA and asked them where they took their wild creatures that were injured for help and they said Waldrens Puddle and gave me directions. I took the bird to them and gave them $50.00 donation. They sent me pictures on line of the bird during it's recovery and sent me a short video of it in their trough net cage and finally that Fall they sent me a video of the birds release all healthy and ready for migration south. I have tried to send them something every month since then................. :up:3 points

If you were born here, you're American. Period. Goodbye, The End! I despise racial/ethnic monikers added as a Pre-fix to American. No got'dangit, you're American or you ain't. Stick that other crap where the sun don't shine. Not that I'm against being proud of where you come from, BUT, this country is a melting pot. By adding these prefixes you identify yourself as something OTHER than american and as such, are refusing to melt. You cannot make a strong alloy if one of the components won't melt and mix thoroughly. Again, i'm not opposed to identifying lineage but it comes SECOND to being an American. NOT first.3 points

Not to be argumentative but I think the "Time to stack it deep" for MOST of us here was many years ago. Most of the members on this board have ZERO excuse for 'not having'. Even the financial constraints aren't a decent excuse. It's been screamed off the roof tops since I graduated in '95 and EVERYBODY can afford one box of .22's on payday. If a person has been buying a little along, they should have a good pile now. I feel sorry for the younger shooters out there, getting started now??? What nightmare. I still have a box or two of Malaysian 9mm ammo I bought at Knob Creek. It was $3 per (50) and I thought that was only fair market at the time. My, how things have changed. I do agree wholeheartedly with you though, "Ya'll don't come crying. Most of us don't wanna hear it."2 points

This thread has been dormant for a year. If you have a problem with it, that's your fault. Don't expect TGO or the board software company to make things right. You should have brought it up sooner.2 points

Ok, I have been pondering this for quite some time and I am finally ready to get some thoughts on the issue. My father and his family was of German descent. My Mothers side of the family was mostly Cherokee Indian descent. with this being known what does that make me? German/Cherokee American I was born in America so in my mind I am just a Red Blooded American and not a German/Cherokee. My point being if a black man/woman is born and raised in America is he or she not just a plain American just like myself. What is wrong with just being a plain American that the people of the Black race need that African American Label when in all reality they are just an American? Yea I am proud of my heritage but not to the point I want to wear it on my shirt sleeves for everyone to know. Would just like opinions.1 point

I sent them a message telling they really oughta put a direct link on the HOME page. Front and center. It's seems nonsensical to NOT have it right there, BAM soon as you open their webpage.1 point

Since I teach the carry course I try and stay on top of such topics. According to someone very close with the local sherrifs office, an attorney, as well as the video put out by the state's DHS, no drinking is allowed while carrying a handgun. It says nothing about a degree of impairment...says a ton about driving and impairment however. It simply says you will lose your permit. They also don't compare knives since you can only throw it once..sort of apples and oranges since no permit is required for your knife. My statement is from my experience with the course and the safe bet. I don't argue that you have some valid points........it's that the DHS can revoke your permit for drinking.....not impairment.1 point

This is made from 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC 59-60. It has amboyna burl and black canvas micarta scales with white G10 liners. They are mechanically fastened and epoxied to the blade. And of course it has a lanyard hole and has a satin finish. The blade is just over 10" long with an OAL of 16 1/2". It's a beast. It still needs a sheath....if I can even make one. If you're interested you know how to talk to me. ;)1 point

We also have at least 2 US Navy Nuclear reactors (USS Scorpion and USS Thresher) sitting on the bottom of the ocean. Plus we have a few broken arrows out there. Here are some scarey ones. 1966: B-52 crashes into KC-135, four thermonuclear bombs are released over Spain 1961: Two nuclear bombs nearly turn North Carolina into a bay http://www.wearethemighty.com/7-times-military-lost-nukes-4-instances-theyre-still-missing-2015-05 Note, I just found this site searching for a certain Nuke event so I know nothing about the rest of the site.1 point

Check with Numrich (www.gunpartscorp.com) or Sarco (http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/sear.aspx) ... just noticed Sarco has them listed but shows out of stock .. these places will buy them from you... While a 249 sear necklace would be pretty cool, having seen the HK transferable sear necklace several years ago nothing now compares ;o)1 point

I think it's funny. was here in the chatroom a month or two ago and some lady called me and started yelling "you're an asshole for what you did to our kids!" "calling protective services on your own grandchildren, F*** U F this ***&^# sucker Mother^^$(# We're gonna beat your ass the next time we catch you out in east Nashville!" and it went on for about 2-3 minutes. The whole time I'm trying to get a word in and she just yells louder then hangs up. When she hung up, I sent a text to that number that said "You should probably make sure you dial the right number before making an ass of yourself over the phone." I was rolling over that one. She actually had the kahunas to call back about 10 minutes later and see it was the wrong number, then laughingly apologize. Love a good phone call like that!1 point

I did this time after failing to do so last time and got my butt chewed. They listened to the voice mail recording and filed a report and told me to be careful for a while. They did also request my phone number and phone carrier and said they would see if it could be back traced to the to the sender of the voice mail. I have it saved on my phone.1 point

...and for the record (pun intended) I wouldn't buy an album from KMart or Walmart for a long time because they sold Edited versions. Having an album with the label on it was a badge of honor when I was in school.1 point

Randomly shooting into the air...what are we in Iraq now? That was their favorite holiday activity, most notably Saddam's birthday and the highlight days during Ramadan. Sad to see some Tennesseans are no more evolved. It should be a crime to discharge a firearm without a target, backstop, or enough empty land for the bullet to fall without hitting someone. Firing into the air is an act of shear stupidity. What goes up, must come down, and it will come down with enough force to cause injuries or worse.1 point

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship . Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly. "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher. Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said. "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was Little Johnny 's turn. The teacher held her breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467", he said. "$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?" "Toothbrushes", said Little Johnny . "Toothbrushes", echoed the teacher. "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?" "I found the busiest corner in town", said Little Johnny . "I set up a Dip Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample." They all said the same thing; "Hey, this tastes like dog poop !" I would say, "It is dog poop . Wanna buy a toothbrush?" I used the President Obama method of giving you some crap, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it's free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth." Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment. Bless his little heart.1 point

I've known black people who consider the term "African American" offensive as they have never been to Africa. IMO there is nothing wrong with simply using the word "black" to describe someone of a dark race. I certainly don't take offense when someone refers to me as white, though I don't think I would be comfortable with German/native Tennessean.1 point

Dunno. Gray. Suggests a good intention (that the road to hell is paved with :)) What would seem to always suffice against "intent to go armed" is "an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon" On the third hand, the carry while intoxicated doesn't mention "intent to go armed" (loaded firearm), just a "handgun". It's also interesting that it no longer seems to be unlawful to possess a long gun (loaded or not) while drinking or drunk, unless it's in the confines of a public establishment! - OS1 point

Well here that crude mofo is. Definitely not an AR. And the trigger is horrible. That's my only complaint. But maybe AR triggers have spoiled me and this is normal for an AK? See video: https://vimeo.com/132498691 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I would leave it home because I would probably have some beers. Even if I wasn't drinking I would probably leave it in the car. If when I got to the party I felt like I should have it on me I might just leave.1 point

I only found this out after walking 4 blocks down hill from my hotel which ment I had to walk back 4 blocks up hill to secure my firearm in my vehicle.1 point

Another day, another AK! Please welcome to the Yugo O-PAP to the collection my friends! The more I buy, the more I am continually impressed by their attention to detail. The O-PAP + N-PAP DF have hands down become one of my personal favorites thus far. Next week, I will be picking up another AES10B in Alabama + my Arsenal SLR107FR will be arriving to my FFL from Atlantic Firearms.1 point
