  1. Joe Armstrong, my long time commie anti-gun state rep gets indicted on federal charges, good for him:   http://www.knoxnews.com/news/state/state-rep-joe-armstrong-indicted   - OS

  2. Not going to happen. Too many other representatives who have probably broken the same laws to allow that to happen. That is why we do not see anyone being held accountable in Washington, if they decide to hold one accountable then they will have to hold the majority accountable. They will never be held accountable for breaking the law by those who are also breaking the law. We are a country ran by a bunch of criminals who know they will NEVER be held accountable for their illegal, and unethical, activities because those who would hold them accountable are also a bunch of criminals. And up until relatively recently it was only widespread in Washington but now it appears that we have a bunch of criminals at the local level as well.   I wish those who have been convicted of violating the public's trust would be punished to death. I wonder how many would run their position if that were the case.

  10. Hmm. Looks like one rat rolled on another rat. What's most curious though is the length of time involved in the investigation. I'm wondering if the Feds were hoping to catch bigger fish or just going for a larger bag limit? FWIW I don't expect any significant punishment equalling the significance of the fraud involved. Additionally the IRS has put paid to a lot of folks who thought they were going to beat the system.

  11. Falling Skies has gotten really bad over the last couple of seasons. I will watch it, because I have followed it from the beginning, but I am glad this is the last season. Between the three parent alien daughter and last season's word for work JFK speech, I am not sure how much more I can stomach. It does have it's saving graces, well, Pope, since he is the only character they haven't killed off that isn't a Mason yet.   I enjoyed The Last Ship last year.   Right now, my number one show of the summer is Defiance. I don't care much for SyFy's shows, but Defiance really stands apart in my opinion. Good writing and characters that are flawed while being well acted. For anyone that hasn't seen it, if you enjoyed the sci-fi/western aspect of Firefly/Serenity, I find this very similar, while being very different. It is currently in it's third season.

  18. I've never found anyone around here that has near online pricing...   I've been thinking of selling my Shield, but haven't quite brought myself to do it even though I haven't even shot it in 6 months… its a great gun, but I don't really use it any more since I got a little 9mm 1911 thats barely any bigger.  Its definitely a good gun to buy, but I don't think your going to be able to buy one locally for a decent price.  In fact I don't think you can buy any new gun locally for a decent price.   I normally look at Grabagun.com first, never seen local prices anywhere close.  Looks like $379+$6 for shipping there right now… then whatever transfer fee and background check you pay.  Watch out for some of the cheaper places that will be $5 - $10 cheaper, then try to charge $30+ for shipping.

  26.   The problem in Clarksville is the Gangsters Disciples.  The next problem is the Democrat Mayor who won't allow the CPD to discuss that there are Gangster Disciples in Clarksville.   There is an internal war going on among the Clarksville membership.  Some of the old-school OGs (Original Gangster) have returned from their time in prison from back in the 90s.  These hardcores are "reestablishing" their status as the leaders within GD.  Needless to say some of the younger gangsters initially objected to letting go of their control to these older guys.  The OGs didn't allow this "dis-respect" and the first example of their displeasure with the youth was found dead behind the Waffle House off exit 11 about a year and a half ago.  There have been several other shooting since then  - - - long before lawful carry of a firearm in your vehicle law went into affect - - - Shocking isn't it!       The Chicago GD leadership has sent emissaries to Clarksville in an attempt for a diplomatic solution, but that seems to have worked as well as Hillary's time as SecState.   Meanwhile...., the Outlaw MC continues to draw in members from the soldiers being "downsized" out of Campbell.  Across the state line in KY, the Hells Angels have purchased a farm, surely to cultivate corn and fresh flowers for the "local grown only" farmer's market in Nashville.   AND, the Democrat Mayor has ordered that all of the evil riot equipment that CPD had be returned to the Feds.   Its looking to be a Hot & Wild summer for the Queen City of the Cumberland River.

  27. excellent article....     to the point and thoughtfully written...   here's what l struggle with...   I consider myself a reasonable conservative, willing to examine and try to understand ideas and ideology that i don't necessarily agree with.  I have an open mind. yet, when i share an article like this, or even ideology like this with someone people whom i disagree with, even ones i think are reasonably intelligent, they cannot even grasp these concepts as reasonable...   and i am left baffled and re examining what i believe...  and always to the same conclusion...  that they are indeed incapable of reason or logic...     how does one share logical and reasonably unbiased text, such as this (it is biased as it clearly understands the 2nd amendment for what it means, as opposed to the "interpretation of the day")   i'm tired of ravenous ignorance and "spin"...   and yet even educated and thoughtful people will read this article, and fail to comprehend even the tiniest bit of it's logic...   why??  (real question)     perhaps i am no different or better??   as i read the articles and editorials that they all deem logical and thoughtful and find it to be pure puke. The difference being, i don't care to impose my peaceful/civil/moral belief on those who disagree with me...

  32. There is a large percentage of Puerto Rican people where I live and from conversations with them it seems P.R is riddled with corruption and controlled by cartel type families.    Just because this is the new law doesn't mean the local LEO's there will abide by it. I don't think I would want to be a test case there honestly. It is supposed to be a great place to visit though.

  37. While I'd like to see more information to test my hypothesis, I think it's simply a byproduct of our societies pussification leading to more guns equaling more problems.     If, as I think, there is a large number of people under 30 in these cases, imagine how many of them have never learned to handle their own problems because of how schools and society in general look at violence.  Having never gotten into any fights at school, or growing up, when things escalate, and the prospect of a real fight is in their face, fright takes over, and they're reaching for a gun if they have one.    That said, the inability of others to manage risk and handle conflicts doesn't matter to my rights under the 2nd Amendment.

  38. The grip safety was a military requirement for the 1911, JMB did not originally design it that way.   Regardless, I've never understood the issue, but then again I've never had a problem holding the pistol.

  39. I find it mildly ironic that the hiring event for a firearms manufacturer is being held in a venue wherein one could not possibly legally carry a firearm made by that manufacturer.  Or any other.  It's a curse I have for noticing things like this I guess.   Still, I'm glad to see Beretta coming to Tennessee and wish them and the job seekers who attend the best.  And safety.  :)

  45. I will make sure to find me a knife fighting class before I use one for self defense. Matter of fact I don't think I have enough gun training to carry. After all being in the military, being in law enforcement as well as carrying a firearm for work in hostile environments probably isn't enough for your requirements. Personally the ONLY people who should not be allowed are those who have a proven VIOLENT history. I don't care if someone is a felon or bat#### crazy as long as they are not violent they should be able to use any means necessary, including fully automatic grenade launching machine guns, to protect themselves even if they do not have a single second of training. You, my friend, are the worst kind of gun owner. One that wants to limits other gun owners for their own reasons.
