I can't remember the last time I got a two-fer out of a thread like this. I'm seriously going to let this run a while, have a beer, and come back to it later. Like a fine cigar, this one just feels like something I should savor.10 points

December 1998 I started to noticed my legs felt weak when I tried to get up from a sitting position. It got worse and by Feb. 99, I could no longer walk without the use of a walker. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, the chronic form of Guillain Barre Syndrome. Take a flu shot these days and you will sign a paper saying that you understand that the shot you are taking has not been proven to cause GBS. I had a flu shot that year and the first question I was asked by every doc I saw, "Have you taken a flu shot? " By 2000 I had my own power wheelchair, and had to have help to get in it. I spent the next 7 years mostly in bed unable to care for myself. I was 6'4, weighed 225, and by 2006 I was down to 145lbs. I improved a bit on immune suppressive drugs and I started chemo every other month. By 2010 I could get out of bed, walk a few feet, and make it to the john. Yay!!! Still life sucked. I could only find 2 other guys here in Mid Tn. that had it and I was the last to start the experimental chemo drug Rituxian. 6 months after I started it, one of the guys passed from pneumonia, his immune system too weak to fight it. The other one called me, shook up about it. He said he was going to look into the Stem Cell he had heard about. This was 2011. It turned out that Northwestern University in Chicago was doing clinical trials on stem cell transplants and CIDP. He became the 17 person to undergo it. The first person was done 2005, just to show how slow it was. He urges me to go to NWU as they only were going to do 20 folks at first. I went and was rejected. They said I didn't meet the study requirements and they thought mine might be in remission. I came home, and they stopped all my meds. Boom. Stuck in bed again. I was pissed. They contacted me to return, but my friend was sick all the time from his, and I decided to hold off and see how he did. FF to Fall 2012 and he is walking from his parked car to the Titians games. Going to concerts. My family elders were sick and I figured the first study was over by now anyways, so I didn't contact NWU. In Feb. 2013 he went to back to NWU for his yearly eval. The transplant doctor told him to contact me and ask me to come back. My dad was ill and I held off. The phone rang one morning and the transplant doc was on the line. No nurse, the Man himself He said he was sorry I had to go without my drugs and if I would come back to Chicago he would/could help me. On October 15, 2013 after destroying my immune system with chemo, I received my own stem cells back. I was the 50th person to undergo this for CIDP. 2014 was rough, in the hospital 3 times with Pneumonia, lots of fever with no found cause etc. I started getting stronger tho. No more immune suppressive drugs since Dec. 2013. Today, 18 months post transplant, haven't been sick in 6 months, I can walk, although I do use a cane when I'm in crowds and tired. I'm back up to about 200 lbs. My arms and legs are still skinny from muscle atrophy, and I get tired quick. I suffered nerve damage and I will never be normal, can't fix that. But they stopped it. After 15 years of hell. I'm telling you this story to pass the word They are resetting the immune system back to normal.. They have done over 500 people with MS the last 10 years with good results. Clinical trials are ongoing for just about every autoimmune disease that exist. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has. Here is a link. http://stemcell-immunotherapy.com/ you also find success stories and info on youtube if you search the transplant doctors name. Dr. Richard Burt. Making history and changing the world. I never did meet the requirements for the study, my case was even more rare than others. He did me on a compassionate basis and will write a paper on me.. Special.. ;) Disclaimer: I'm not making money nor am I affiliated with NWU. I'm just a TN. born and bred disease kicking MF.. CELEBRATE LIFE!!! Edit: I had Feb on the brain, my transplant was in October 2013, not Feb. I been on the phone scheduling my yearly follow up and thats what prompted my post. I went back at 6 months and 1 year, and I go back once a year for 5 years.7 points

So tonight my nephew tested for his yellow belt (second belt) in Taekwondo and Hapkido. The man who test him was the same man who tested me, my dad. I thought it was pretty cool that we now have 3 Generations of Martial Artist in the family. My dad is a 6th Degree blackbelt in Taekwondo, Hapkido and Judo, My oldest sister and myself are both 1st degree black belts in all 3 arts, and now her son and my nephew has started on the same path. Here are some pictures from tonight's test. The test included judo, even though the judo belt ranks take much more time to achieve, the school has always taught all 3 together and not made separate time or classes for each. I hope you figure it out soon. I hate the idea that seeing me post here gets your panties in a bunch. You started a thread with the intention of trolling. Like an idiot, I engaged you. You have less than 3 months on here and nobody knows you from Adams off mule. I've been here 3 years and just about every regular member on this forum has either spoken to me in person, on the phone, or in chat. I stood up for my beliefs, and your answer was to call for me to be locked up in a mental institution, then to call me a terriost. Immediately after calling me a terriost one of the admins banned you. Also you may wanna check your last thread, and notice TGO David's last post on that thread. He mentioned he checked your profile and noticed very little contributions in the way of firearms related postings and mostly it was shit stirring and BS. He also makes mentions that that is a very bad thing for him to take notice of. So you may wanna just find the block button, and play nice from now on. Sent from the backwoods3 points

Well, just got back from another optomotrist. I give that office much more confidence than the other three places I have been combined. She thinks I experience the gritty feeling in the morning because my left eye is dry. At night the dry eye sticks to the eyelid. In the morning your eyelid is seentially ripped from your cornea in a way. The allergy drops all along may have caused the issue, but she thinks my left eye may just have lesser vision altogether and I haven't noticed it until now. How often do each of you close and open each eye testing each individual eye strength? Consensus was the I shall use lubricating dros at least three times a day for a week or so. She thinks all of my symptoms will probably dissapear and I will be happy with my vision at that point. Come to think of it, my new task at work involves riding in a vehicle all day. Me sitting in that vehicle with the A/C blasting towards my face, using allergy drops that are drying, washing my eye out with saline solution, it's a wonder that I can even see at all. Saline solution like I posted above is ok for flushing but not good for long term use, as stated by many above. She gave me some lubricating drop samples as well as some cream samples that I can put in my eyes before I sleep each night. Hopefully that will take care of the gritty feeling in the morning. Right now the lubricating drops makes the gritty feeling dissappear. Feeling pretty optimistic right now about everything. Honestly I do feel like vision is slightly improved from yesterday in my left eye. She seemed to think 20/20 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left eye. I will tell you, it's a very blury 20/30 though. Told her I would follow up with her in a few weeks if I need to. She seemed to think keeping them lubricated was all that was needed for now. She said that there are signs that they would have seen had it been diabities or blood pressure related. That is comforting as long as you assume they would have noticed them.3 points

GT is just across the border. If I'm not mistaken an employee drives the gun to an FFL down the street on the Tennessee side. For $250 it would be real hard to pass up.3 points

I hate hipsters as much as any one, but if it makes knife carry more acceptable in the urban areas and other states, then so be it. Hipsters are about as non scary as it gets and if liberals have to fight the youngsters they are trying to get to vote for them, they won't like it.3 points

I have never been a big fan of the Redhawk. I always preferred the slimmer frame of a Blackhawk. This new Redhawk looks interesting. I kinda dig the funky shape of it and like the smaller grip. Looks like it will ship with three moon clips so it can shoot 45LC or 45acp.2 points

Didn't you know dude?? I keep me Koran right next to my sand scrubbed, dirty AK, and practice blindly hip firing at least once a week. It is a little hard to find prayer time between 12 hour shifts at work, blacksmith shop, range time, and actually seeing that other human that lives in my house I call my wife at some point in the week. So usually just a little "Aloha Snackbar" gets me through the day. Sent from the backwoods2 points

If you can’t place your finger on the trigger without the weapon discharging when you want it to, one of three things is happening. 1. They are using the wrong weapon for the application. 2. They don’t have enough experience with the weapon. 3. Something is wrong with the weapon. We never get to hear the details of what the Officer/person said happened.2 points

Tons and tons of Mojo coming yours and Bogeys way for sure. If I lost Kasey I don't know what I would do. People ask me why I will spend so much money on vet bills and I say because shes my responsibility and my family. I do for her just as I would any of my kids. If they are sick they go to the hospital or doctor. Only people that have never had the love of a dog can ask such stupid questions. Wishing you and Bogey the best my friend................... :( :(2 points

Just remember, TGO is not America. We all love America here but there is no freedom of speech with impunity. I would call TGO a benevolent monarchy with delegated powers to trusted subordinates. I've been a member of several forums. TGO maintains the best balance of ANY forum on the Internet. Some forums are free-for-alls and suffer for it. Some are run by tyrannical facists who stomp out anything those in the clique disapprove of. TGO doesn't allow swearing but unless you make it a constant habit or (more importantly) direct it at another member, an occasional hell or damn never gets a moments notice. If it's a particularly heinous load of BS like hippies, gun control or Rosie O'donnel you can even slip in an abbreviated F' you. Again, it's intent and context and frequency. Frowned on, so don't make it a habit. Besides, it's funnier when it isn't said all the time. Slander and lies pertaining to business transactions are dealt with in a swift and crushing manner. I for one am thankful for that. There are always exceptions, lies relating to fishing are fairly welcome. Just remember, we are All guests here and TGODavid has the final word. If you were warned for something he didn't like, accept it and let it go. Shoot, he's crawled my butt SEVERAL times for posting stuff he didn't approve of. A time or two, I'm almost sure he was yelling into the keyboard. You think he's just been exstatic to read all 8K of mys posts? LOL. So what? Don't do it again. Nuff said.2 points

The room was full of pregnant women with their husbands. The instructor said, "Ladies, remember that exercise is good for you. Walking is especially beneficial. It strengthens the pelvic muscles and will make delivery that much easier. Just pace yourself, make sure you have plenty of stops and try to stay on a soft surface like grass or a path." "Gentlemen, remember -- you're in this together. It wouldn't hurt you to go walking with her. In fact, that shared experience would be good for you both." The room suddenly became very quiet as the men absorbed this vital information. After a few moments a man, name unknown, at the back of the room, slowly raised his hand. "Yes?" said the Instructor. "I was just wondering if it would be all right, if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"2 points

I lost my dog, Bailey, of 13 years last July. By choice, because it was the right thing to do. He was 14 and he just couldn't do it anymore. What you said above is the BRAVEST thing we can do as humans for our canine family members. I really hope your boy takes a turn for the better. I really do. When I talk to my Bailey tonight, I'll ask him to watch out for him. There is no better love than that of a canine family member. I hope Bogey gets to feeling better real soon. I also hope that you take comfort in knowing that what you have done for him so far, is a lot more than some people would ever be willing to do. And what you are prepared to do, if need be is even more. Hang in there.2 points

By all means, if that's me talking about committing a crime, then the admin can send me a pm. I know you have no idea who I am. I don't really care if you ever do. I have had dozens of TGO members under my roof, shoot at my house, and come learn blacksmithing in my shop. I would give a stranger the shirt of my back and the food off my plate to help them. But I was raised different than most. I was raised that your word means something, you take your hat off at the table, you call people Sir and Ma'am, and you don't desecrate a flag. If someone insults my wife or my mother they will either apologize or I will most likely put them in the hospital. If I catch someone beating a dog, horse, etc, I am going to return the favor. If I catch someone beating a woman or a child I'm going to kill them. And I'll stand before a judge, jury and Almighty God and say the same thing. You don't insult people, you don't hurt those who can't defend themsleves, you don't lie, cheat or steal. Burning a flag was your question, but your intent was to start a fight. That's fine by me. I've been around far to long to fight on the internet. I don't really care if you agree or disagree with my values. But it pays to remember that some people live by the law of what's right or wrong, not what some paid off judge decides. I'll gladly face any consequences for my actions, and answer for them. But I'll die knowing I stood for something and didn't compromise my values for some piece of garbage who thinks torching a flag is perfectly ok. It also pays to remember that carrying a gun doesn't automatically make you a badass. There are those that will make you eat that gun, holster and all.2 points
